I've been coming here for years. The bar staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The drink and food prices are more than reasonable. I recommend the Biffalo Chicken Wrap. Be sure to ask for ranch inside. It's amazing. The Sportz Players put on a consistently good show, and if you're willing to take a risk there are many solid independent shows in the Garage. Great energy and talented comics! My friends and I sat front and center at the midnight show on Saturday. After the show, we closed our tab at the bar (Yes, we ordered cheese curds and Spotted Cow beers.) I loved how the comics were hanging out with their friends and fans. A great venue and a great experience. I visited because a friend was in the cast, but I have to say, I would have enjoyed it even if I he had not been in there. Of course it is always more fun when you know someone in a show! The bits were funny, they were fresh, there was audience involvement, and it was cuss-word free. So it shows you can make people laugh without using foul language. This would be a lot of fun with a group of friends. They have a bar and serve a few items to nosh on. $10 tickets are very reasonable and it's a good place for laughs. I enjoyed the improv style. You can't really do much to critique the comics because they are different every show. The referee (host) was a little gregarious and loud but did a good job controlling the crowd. Kinda fun, kinda hokey. Can be funny, but often teeters towards the ridiculous. They've got some talented performers and some annoying kids who think they're funny. nothing worse than a kid who thinks he's funny. So I don't know, I'm very luke-warm on this place. It's got a pretty cool bar with a bunch of personable, if not dorky bartenders. You might like it here for a change of pace from the normal dinner/ bar kind of night. read more

I wanted to do something different besides the usual "lets just get wasted," so I thought an improv show would be awesome. I usually go to second city, but we were visiting so we came here to the 10:00 on a Saturday night. If you want to have any sort of fun do not go to this show, go to the midnight show. Even though there were NO children, they kept the comedy clean and it was really boring. Also there was a bachelorette party there so a lot of it was made about them, making it less fun for the rest of us. Always a good time. At times the crowd can be too loud and it becomes frustrating trying to hear the players. We usually come for a show at least once a month. It's nice to see some new faces on stage, but we do miss some of the old players though. Wait staff could be a little better when the show is going on. read more

My 16-year old son bought Comedy Sportz tickets as a Christmas gift for his 15-year old brother. We attended the show as a family on December 28, and had a great time. We have been to Comedy Sportz a couple of times a year for the past number of years, and appreciate the opportunity for a family friendly show that leaves us with a smile. The comedians seem appreciative of everyone in attendance, and work hard to encourage audience participation. The talent necessary to pull off this kind of improv comedy is not as easy as they make it look. Thanks for a great family event. read more

So much fun for a date night. You get entertainment, drinks and dinner for very reasonable prices. Our whole food and drink tab for two people was $30, and that included a martini and a double Jameson and Coke. Just wish they had earlier adult shows, midnight is too late when you need to get a babysitter. read more

This place really is a Milwaukee gem. I've frequented Comedy Sportz for birthday parties, bachelorette events, just general fun - you name it, Comedy Sportz is an affordable and fun option. Bar inside, food (decent) if you're hungry, and always something new. I was especially surprised and delighted by the "musical" show that they hold once a month. SO GOOD, guys. I have taken my teenage kids and their friends to comedysportz a few times. It is something that we can all do where the teenage attitude gets dropped and the kids that I know and love come back out. I've never had a bad time at ComedySportz. Whether it's an actual CS show, a spin off, or the midnight show, I've always felt I've gotten my monies worth. Recently I was able to try the food and more importantly the drinks and good god, they know how to make a drink. Midnight show was funny as usual, and quite a deal for only $5. Could have done without the guy behind me who thought "FERGUSON" was a hilarious suggestion for every.single.topic......but I suppose, not everyone can be on stage, so they have to get their kicks somehow. read more

Great show for all ages, but not lame for adults. When my 13 year old brother came to town I had no clue where to take him, but this place was perfect. Two "teams" of performers combine improve with clean jokes. If your looking for raunchy this isn't the place, but if you are looking for a talented group that can make you laugh anyway this IS the place. Also there is booze. read more

This is my go-to place when I am able to get a kid-free night. I've brought just about all of my friends and family members here. Every week is a new show and you can always count on having a good time. My husband and I have gone so much that we have our favorite comedians and get a little geeked out when we find out they are there that night! The bartenders and servers are all really friendly and courteous. Their food is good. If you go to the 10:00 show on Saturdays then they have an 'uncensored' show at midnight. That show isn't as good as the 10:00 show but still worth the $5 bucks it cost to get in. read more

Such sweet guys! Went for a free show, they were really inclusive to the audience( they never pick on individuals) but made sure we all felt comfortable. Played several games that includes participation and was very family friendly. They have family friendly shows and also a midnight sat show. Great experience! read more

I came to sports comedy for a first funny Sunday event while visiting from out of town. I loved the experience the comedy show exceeded my expectations by a long shot. The comedians were hilarious. I wish there were more places like this. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

This place was so much fun! My husband and I were visiting Milwaukee and decided to attend their early show on Friday night...it was outstanding...so much so that we stayed for the late show too. The comedians are really talented and feed off of audience suggestions to each show is different. we would have stayed for more shows. great snacks and prices too. read more

This is the only 1 star review I've EVER given.... I'm only giving this place 1 star because the actors were half-way amusing. I came here with my bf to have a good time, but instead left complete sober and reeking of alcohol. As the waitress was bringing out the first round of drinks (which was literally 15 mins after the show started) she proceed to trip on something and spill all 7 drinks she had on her tray all over my lap and my bf's back. I immediately went to the back to clean up but the waitress only gave us 3 dish towels to clean up with. We didn't see her again, until she came back after handing out everyone's new drinks, to see if we were OK. Our chairs were absolutely soaked and so I asked for new ones. It didn't really help since our clothes were all wet! I understand as with most shows, they must go on, but we barely received an apology, just a comped beer, which I didn't even touch. I'm not sure if the waitress even let the management know, but the least they could do was comp our tickets since it ruined our entire evening. To make a long story short: Wear clothes that aren't your Sunday best. Be prepared to wait for drinks if you don't go to the bar first. Terrible service. Go to the bathroom beforehand! read more

Struggled between 3 and 4 stars. Ultimately I decided on 4 because it is a good cheap date night. It was funny, venue was cool. Service was terrible and most of the bar staff look like parolees. First the waitress: We arrived about 20 minutes before the show started and we were seated immediately. Our waitress took our order and told us coming right up. Well the theatre filled up and our order never arrived. At the intermission the waitress (same one) came and asked if we would like anything. Yeah, the appetizers and drinks we ordered an hour and a half ago. She apologized and asked what we ordered. She hurried back with our drinks and dumped a beer on my daughter. She said sorry you don't have to pay for that one. Brought another beer (that was 3/4 full) and said it was only her second night. (Not really an apology). She came back 10 minutes before the end of the show with 2 of our appetizers, no explanation for the missing one. Gave us our bill. Nothing offered for the dumped beer. We still gave her a 20% tip. The show: The comedy was mediocre at best, very amatuer-ish. I do appreciate the no vulgarity comedy. But most of it was Jim Carey facial immitations and not so quick witted improv. I felt like these were college students who were not quite ready for a real audience. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't pay to see again. read more
