This cleaners is the worst. Every time I take it there they don't get out the stains. And to boot they put safety pens and tags on everything all over the clothes top bottom left to right. I've walked out of the house with pins and tags on my clothes and didn't even realize they were on. I complained about a creasing on my long sleeve polo and the owner a nice man, but insisted it was not their fault and went back-and-forth with me that it was not their fault when indeed it was. They made a mistake on a crease two or three times and it in dented a mark on my collar. Maybe he thinks I'm trying to get over on a $40 long sleeve polo. Which is ridiculous. He could've offered me a solution or a reimbursement at least but nothing. This is the definition of bad customer service Do not support them and if u do take very close look at your clothes and take photos and inform managers. My shirt is now ruined I won't be coming back and notifying my neighbors as well who have also complained about this place but I didn't believe them. read more

I took one pair of shorts and one pair of capri to get the zipper fixed. I had purchased them without noticing they were like that. I asked for them to dry clean them and they ruined both!!! My shorts had spots all over that you could only see when the light hit them. My capri's looked like they were 3 years old. I went back the same day and they said they just needed to be dry cleaned again. I went back after the second cleaning and they were still the same! I asked to speak with manager a man called Matthew and he wasn't there. The ladies that assisted me said he would call me that same day. It's been more than 24hrs and I have not heard from anyone. Horrible customer service and they destroy clothes!!! UPDATE: 8/24/15 I went back to Comet to try to speak to the manager about my shorts and capris. It turns out they fixed both. I decided to wear my capris and 2 hours later I got a horrible chemical burn all over my hips,stomach,thighs and between my legs. I had to go to doctor and get cream and meds. I strongly believe they did this on purpose because of the negative review I posted. They had dry cleaned my clothes before and never gotten a chemical burn. Dropped off a jacket for dry cleaning. Picked it up and didn't pay much attention when I hung it in the back of my car. Removed the plastic on my way to work when I had to wear it an hour or so later. I was driving and smelled something horrible. It was the jacket!! I smelled like a homeless person...it was awful!!! I called the cleaners the very next morning when they opened and was told the manager would be in the next day at 6 am. They didn't have voicemail so I tried to let the guy know why I was calling so he could tell the manager. After I explained the situation his reply was "okay"...as in whatever. $4.99 for a regular button down dress shirt?!?!?! Damn that's expensive. I usually pay $2.99 and I thought that was expensive. They also left link on my shirt. Still some stains on my collar. They even pressed the shirt cuffs flat and left a crease which kinda messed up the style of the cuffs I had on my shirt. On Sundays they close at 4:00 pm. I showed up at 3:45 pm. They weren't being nice. They seemed annoyed that I showed up. It wasn't even 4 yet. I wouldn't go back here again. I don't usually post or write reviews however upon having my cleaning picked by my son I find it necessary for me to write about my experience with Comet Cleaners. I had my daughter take a coverlet it for dry cleaning, they did a good job cost was reasonable and it was ready on time, so far so good. Now, let me tell you the about the blouse, that was totally different experience. The blouse was to be cleaned and my daughter requested that a small snap be placed 1 inch from the top button because the V opening was too deep. Well the wrote on the receipt hook, that is absolutely not what I wanted, well when I got the blouse today the snap was in between the top button and the next button down, what was the alteration person thinking, who does this? My son took the blouse back and they just put another button where I put a straight pin to show them the correct spot. They didn't remove the snap between the 2nd & 3rd button. The snap they put on my silk blouse was the size you would find on a lightweight robe and they charged $5.00 for this. I actually felt my blood pressure rise! I've been a loyal customer of this establishment since they moved from across the street. They're not the best, but they are in a convenient location to where I live. The issues that I have with them is that a few times I've gone in with stains and showed it to them only to have them still be on the clothes. The main issues is that I don't like to be deceived. I took a dress to be altered because it was too big. They charged me for it and also put all these tags on their as if the work had been done. I put the dress on to go to my event and the dress fit the same as it had originally. I just took it to a tailor yesterday and he confirmed what I already knew. I went to Comet Cleaners (and its predecessor Cameo Cleaners which used to be across the street) to do my dress shirts, slacks, and suits from roughly 2008 through 2014, about six years. During that time, I found them to be reliable and affordably priced, and extraordinarily fast at turning around even large orders. I don't think they ever ruined a shirt, and they always came back crisp and clean. The staff was always very nice, and there was low turnover, so I got to know some of them over time. Their tailoring service, which I used occasionally, was also pretty good and affordable. There are 5 zillion cleaners out there, but if you are close by, the quality here is very good for the price. read more

This place looked at my clothes, I specifically asked about some problem issues like pet hair. They said no problem and they would call if there was an issue. I picked up my clothes and the pet hair jacket they didn't clean or call about, and my other jacket they said was too dirty to clean.!? This was a dry clean only jacket and only had dirt from rubbing against things , everyday dirt. So the dry cleaners refused to clean my jacket. Basically this place SUCKS! read more

Horrible customer service. Do not advertise that you're open until 10 pm if you will not let us pick up our order 10 minutes before that time. There were three employees standing around doing nothing and would not open the door to let us pick up our clothes which would have only taken 2 minutes. Change your time to 930 if you'll be closing before 10. Very displeased. We rushed from Santa Monica to make it in time -- which we did -- only to be turned away by lazy employees. read more

My family started patronizing this cleaners over 30 years ago when they were Cameo Cleaners and located on the other side of Crenshaw. They haven't been the same since they moved location. My clothes get clean enough, but my button-down shirts and blouses come back looking unpressed. It doesn't make sense to have to get up in the morning to iron clothes for work that are fresh out of the plastic from the cleaners. A good pressing is my primary purpose for sending my work clothes to a professional in the first place. After being disappointed time and time again I finally gave up. Long after I gave up on Comet, my mother continued to be a loyal Comet customer until recently they started pressing her dress pants with the creases on the sides of the pants instead of where pants creases are supposed to be (front & back). I mean really??? Who wears pants creases on the sides? Anyway, after complaining but still getting the same results, she has finally taken her business to Virginia Cleaners where she is very happy. I on the other hand am currently patronizing Sir Charles Cleaners where I am very satisfied with the service, but in all honesty, searching for a cleaners that is more reasonably priced and open past 6pm. read more

I'm not sure what to think of this cleaners. I got my coats and sweaters back and they looked fairly decent and clean, but they did not smell clean. They still had all the residual smells in them as before I dropped them of at the cleaners. Clean clothes smell clean, and a cleaners is supposed to be in the business of cleaning clothes. Also, repairs I asked for (and paid for) were not done, no explanation was given me upon pick-up. So, what, should I go without a coat for a few MORE days during this odd Cali cold snap? Should I really? This is a hassle. What I think this cleaners did is ran a lint brush over my clothes and ironed them- that's it. I will never go to this cleaners again, nor recommend them. I walked in the door with high hopes, but when I got my clothes home I was beyond disappointed. It never occurred to me to be disappointed in a cleaners, after all, how bad could a cleaners experience possibly be? Well, when your clothes are returned to you still smelly with your pocket seams still ripped and you paid for clean, mended clothes, well, then... this cleaners get a huge F. It doesn't make sense to run me away as a customer like that when I had no previous bias whatsoever towards or experience with this business. I thought about this experience for a long time before I submitted this review. I have been wearing a ripped pocket coat (still!) since I got it back from them a month ago. I opted to not go back and hassle with them over the embarrassing job they did "cleaning" and not mending my clothes like I paid for. I felt that if they'd give service that bad in the first place, they'd likely do or say anything, and likely have no respect for their customers. I took the loss of paying and not getting what I paid for. They would go broke waiting for me to return. Oh, I forgot: the icing on the cake- I had white slacks cleaned; they put my jet black angora sweater in the same plastic, on the same hanger as the white pants. Yes. They did. I've been going here for the past few years. I would say that they are pretty good. My clothes have always been cleaned correctly. In addition to my clothes, I have had large items like down comforters and king sized bedding items cleaned and have been very pleased with the results. I have found the counter staff to be pleasant and friendly. At times the wait is a bit long but that is usually when there are more than 4+ customers. They offer a discount if you pay in advance. They also have a VIP program where you pay a small fee and you get a bigger discount. You also get a few personalized garment bag that you can use to "go to the front of the line" and drop off your things without waiting. I'd only recommend the VIP if you tend use the cleaners fairly regularly and/or take a lot of items in to be cleaned. I have also used their alteration services for minor things like reinforcing buttons and threads that have unraveled. Overall my experience with them has been good. read more
