Starting the morning with this incredible bear claw from Comet Coffee!

This coffee shop is right around the corner from work and has become my weekly treat. Stopping in and seeing all of the baked goods piled high is a dream. My go to is the bear claw and a chai latte with oat milk. It's a cute little bakery/coffee shop with a solid crew of regulars so expect a short wait from time to time. The baked goods are top tier, my chai tea is always perfect but the real stars are the staff! Everyone is always so incredibly sweet and helpful. Aly has been the highlight of my morning pastry and chai tea latte runs!

Popped in here on a Saturday morning to a bit of a line, but we moved through it super quickly. I got a vanilla latte and the twice baked pistachio croissant. I love a good croissant, and this one definitely fit the bill. I feel like the twice baked really made the pistachio flavor really solid. They only had a seasonal matcha drink right now, so I stuck with a vanilla latte since I don't drink matcha. But the barista was super friendly when I asked a few questions.

Some of the best coffee I've had in the US! Latte was strong without any bitterness and the drink was the perfect temperature. Had a chocolate croissant as well and it was decent but not outstanding. Would suggest coming early since there's definitely a line during more popular times. Everyone in the shop is nice and the tables were clean.

    Cold brew. Just right.

I come in maybe once a month for my favourite cold brew in St. Louis. On my last visit, the amazing Aly spotted me in line and asked if I wanted my usual customisation of how much water to concentrate. Now that is personal service! Cheers to Comet for incredible cold brew and to Aly for being a brilliant barista with a magnificent memory!

Just found the cutest coffee shop off Hampton. Cute place, great staff, excellent coffee and pastries are delightful. Parking is a bit challenging but worth the drive!

Incredible coffee, croissants and the nicest baristas. Tried the iced honey lavender latte which was delicious and strong, and the croissant was perfectly flaky and layered. Good amount of seating too with lots of tables.

I visited for the first time on a Sunday morning, and it was absolutely packed! The line wrapped around out the door, but it moved pretty quickly. I ordered an iced pumpkin latte, and it was pretty good! The pumpkin taste was not overpowering. However, the latte itself seemed to taste more than milk than coffee. My friend ordered an iced vanilla latte, and hers had much more of a coffee flavor. The employee taking my order at the counter was extremely friendly and welcoming. All of the pastries looked INCREDIBLE. Although I did not try any of them during my most recent visit, I absolutely plan to get some next time. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the cookie dough croissant on display! The interior is super cute and inviting. I love all the books and plants throughout the shop. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. This is a great place to study, get some work done, or catch up with friends!

Comet Coffee has become an almost-daily ritual. I love walking in and seeing the beautiful looking and delicious smelling pasties. The staff is so friendly and have provided great recommendations. I always look forward to going there :) My favorites (so far) there are the Alaska Big Sur espresso, dirty chai w oat milk and a pump of lavender, and their matcha latte with oat milk and a pump of lavender. Also they have great extras for sale! Excited to try them!

Must try bakery and coffee shop. The cinnamon croissant was flakey, buttery, and perfect. The drip coffee was dark and delightful. I opted for the vanilla latte and it was definitely worth the short wait. The lines were bustling which is always a great sign that this is a well liked place. It does lean on the smaller side and if you don't mind sharing a table it's a perfect place to hang, work, or catch up.

My Ecuador pour-over. I was a little surprised to find it wasn't very full, even though I hadn't asked them to leave room for cream.

Yesterday I was craving scones and I saw a review that said this place had the best in town. When we arrived, I was immediately charmed-- the place was totally packed, which was a good sign. There were gorgeous, happy plants all over! The decor was cute and simple, and had an inviting bookshelf with some great books available -- perfect for enjoying with a snack and a drink. The baked goods section sadly didn't have any scones today. I was stuck deciding between the morning buns and chocolate-almond croissants, and the super helpful barista suggested the morning bun with zero hesitation. The barista was so helpful and kind-- she really went above and beyond to describe the different drink options on the menu, including how popular each was and what people had thought about each as I tried to decide what to get. I really appreciated the thorough suggestions. I got the morning bun and it was sooooo good. Flaky on the outside, soft and chewy and moist inside, covered with orange cardamom sugar. Divine. I got an Ecuador pour-over coffee, black, and though it wasn't filled to the top, it was exactly what I wanted. The barista did not steer me wrong. My partner got an iced dirty chai latte, which he orders from various places often. At first sip, he rushed over to me and insisted I try it because "they nailed it." It was really tasty! He got a slice of coffee cake and devoured it. Lots of people were working at the various tables or chatting with friends. Though we took our order to go, we both agreed we should go back and work from there sometime. Lovely experience, A+!

Every bite feels authentic, comforting, and joyful -- the kind of baking that carries tradition in every crumb. The conchas are especially spectacular -- soft, lightly sweet, with that perfect sugary shell. Pair one with a cup of coffee and suddenly the whole morning feels like a little fiesta. I enjoyed a Smoked Ham and Gruyere Croissant and a black coffee in house. I was to have a seat at the counter in their front window and relax while my dogs were at the doggie spa up the street. The croissant was super-super flakey and the smoked ham paired beautifully with the gruyere cheese. I couldn't come to NRB and not take home a couple of sweet treats. My favorite treat was the Raspberry Lemon Financier. It was so good the next morning with my home brewed coffee. Then that evening I enjoyed a Lemon Cake whose name I cannot recall. It exceeded moistness and the strong lemon flavor was just what I like. In addition to my treats, I got a Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie for my fur-babies pet stylist as part of her tip. My only dislike and it's minor, is that they serve Kaldi's Coffee. I'm glad they are supporting another local small business, but I am not a fan of their product. Typically when I know a cafe serves Kaldi's, I pass on the coffee, but I made an exception here.

Honestly, if you judged it by the outside, you might drive right past it. There is one parking spot in front, and then a run down parking lot behind and to the side. The moment I walked in, I felt like I was back in my childhood. The lime green decor, the dark bakery display cases filled with buns, and the small plates of food inside reminded me of the Cantonese bakeries I grew up going to. They also had ready to go meals wrapped up to take home. We bought a bunch of things to try. We had the beef cheung fun, siu mai, BBQ pork baos, sesame balls, egg custard tarts, and one of my favorites, the giant round sponge cake. Everything was fresh and really tasty. The roast pork looked delicious too, with nice crispy skin. The biggest surprise for me was seeing lo po beng (Old Wife Cake). We can hardly ever find it on the East Coast, so whenever we do, we always buy some for my mom. Seeing it here made me so happy. I live in the Metro D.C. area, where we have some really good Cantonese bakeries, so I wasn't expecting much from this tiny place. But honestly, Wei Hong Bakery could definitely give many of the bakeries back home a run for their money. Don't let the outside fool you. If you're looking for authentic Cantonese bakery items in St. Louis, this little bakery is absolutely worth a visit. It brought back so many childhood memories, and I'd definitely stop again the next time I'm in town.
