I was very disappointed to have the experience we had after seeing such great reviews about this place. I thought it would be a good spot for my mentee and I got spend time with each other. Upon walking in, I realized it wasn't the best idea but we stuck it out and sat upstairs where it was quieter. The bartender had us order from the bar as well as our drinks and told us it would be brought up once finished. We both ordered burgers but they never asked us temp preferences. So minutes into then preparing our meals, I ran back down to ask if we could choose the temp. It disappointed me to see not one server came to check on us yet they stopped at the other tables multiple times. Not to mention for what you pay, no one even came to check on us or get us a refill. While I understand we chose upstairs, you would think at least pass thru once. But besides dropping off the plates, we never saw anyone again until we went downstairs to pay. Truthfully as good as the burger was I don't think I'd be back. That was the only reason this place gets 3 stars.

This unassuming dive bar is a great spot to gather some friend, toss back a few cold ones and snag a burger. They have drinks up and down the price menu, with a wide enough menu for everyone. Known for their burgers and fries as well as laid back environment, this is a chill spot to check out.

Our food was very good and we would love to come back here again. There are only about four tables and everything else is at the bar. The bar stayed busy the entire time we were there, and we were glad we were able to find a spot. There was a band that was warming up. We also found out you have to order at the bar, they do not come By to check on the tables. That was our first time, so we are glad they came to check on us, but we found out that does not usually happen. They also had a lot of pimento cheese options which were sooo tasty!!

Ladies, gentlemen, and all connoisseurs of hunger, prepare for lift-off as we journey to the Comet Grill, a celestial body in the culinary universe of Dilworth, Charlotte, NC. Nestled in the cosmic expanse of the Food Lion shopping plaza, finding a parking spot here is easier than spotting a UFO on a clear night! Let's talk menu - a constellation of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and bar snacks, all crafted with interstellar skill. They say everything is made in-house, from sauces to hand-formed patties, and I believe it! They even cut their French fries and chips by hand - probably while juggling planets or something. Vegetarians, fear not! With offerings like house-made veggie chili and black bean burgers, you won't be left in the asteroid belt. For 27 light-years (or human years, rather), Comet Grill has been serving the Charlotte community with a side of cosmic charm. They're open until 2am every day, because in space, no one cares about bedtime. And get this - live music five nights a week! But beware, earthlings: after 8PM, it's a 21+ space station. The place buzzes like a busy satellite later in the evening, and there's even an outdoor patio with heaters for when you're feeling a bit like Pluto. A full bar orbits the scene, with bottled and tapped beers, and the day's soundtrack was 'Sympathy for the Devil' by The Rolling Stones. How fitting, as this place is devilishly good! Let's talk about the cosmic commanders: Alicia and her daughter, Cora. Alicia, the bartender-cum-waitress, is so friendly she might be from Venus. She sat with me, shared stories of the restaurant's history, and knew her regulars' orders by heart - probably telepathy. I didn't meet Cora, but I hear she mixes cocktails like she's stirring the Milky Way. Now, the All American Cheeseburger - a meteoric masterpiece. Served medium-ish with a galaxy of hand-cut fries (slightly over-salted like a Martian margarita, but hey, we're not complaining), the burger was a celestial delight. American cheese draped over it like the rings of Saturn, all nestled in a perfectly toasted bun. At $12 (only $8 on Saturn...I mean, Saturday), it's a steal! In conclusion, if you're star-hopping through Charlotte and hunger strikes, Comet Grill is your galactic gateway. Great food, stellar people, and a vibe that's out of this world - it's no wonder there's a steady stream of earthlings even on a Monday at 4pm. I'll definitely be back, if not for the intergalactic company, then surely for another round with that burger. Houston, we have no problems here!

Am I missing something here? We stopped by one Sunday at lunch because a friend told us how great the burgers are. The inside is definitely the quintessential neighborhood dive bar which I can get down with, when the time is right. Unfortunately, we're sober right now (I know, big woof) so a round of waters it was. We ordered burgers and I ordered mine cooked medium. I opted for a side salad because you know, side salads make it healthy. The salad was fresh and crispy, I really enjoyed it. But the All American burger... dry and plain as all get out. It felt like eating the most mediocre back yard burger at your neighbor's house down the street. The patty was cooked well done and I'm telling you - it was so dry. The Comet Classic was a little more juicy because of the bacon and pimento cheese but still not great. With the burger craze sweeping the nation - I expected more. I would go back for drinks maybe but I will definitely order something other than a burger.

Me like! You need a place where you can get a good burger, chat up an authentically friendly staff, and not worry about having to be too hip, pretty, or wealthy. Comet Grill is the place. I tried the Comet Classic :: was there another option for this first timer?! Not massive, but filling. Fries were cut and cooked there which is perfect, though another :45s in the grill basket would have brought the insides perfectly done ... little soft for perfection, but close. I'll be back

They call themselves coastal comfort food, and…read moreI'd say that's pretty spot-on with classic American favorites, coastal flavors, and a few dishes that feel like they were transported straight down from up New England. I've always made reservations, but you can definitely pop in and grab a bar seat or try your luck at a table. It's a pretty spacious spot, so even on a busy night or during brunch, there's a decent amount of seating. Now for the important stuff: Sunday = half-price wine. And yes, that includes Prosecco for mimosas. We're talking about $24 a bottle, which is basically Catalina telling you to order another one. So naturally, we got two for the table. They also have other specials throughout the week, but Sunday wine is the one I'm personally keeping tabs on. My biggest Catalina pro tip: ASK ABOUT THE PASTA AT BRUNCH. Homemade pastas aren't always listed on the brunch menu, but apparently many of the dinner pastas and proteins are still available. One little question to our waiter and BOOM... pasta was happening. And their vodka pasta? Spicy, homemade, ridiculously delicious, and absolutely one I'd recommend if you like a little kick with your carbs! The whipped burrata is another crowd favorite and almost always makes an appearance at our table, and the Little Gem salad is a great starter and easy to share if you want those greens but not to fill up. Everything I've had here has been fantastic, and with the number of people I've brought or gone with, I've yet to hear a single complaint about a meal. The cocktails have also been spot-on every time I've ordered one, so whether you're looking for a cozy date night, girls' night, brunch with the crew, or just want to sit at the bar and treat yourself, Catalina fits the bill. Do yourself a favor and put this one on your list. Coastal comfort, homemade pasta, good cocktails, half-price Prosecco... honestly, what more convincing do you need?

The restaurant was very clean and the noise volume low enough to where we could visit and comfortably carry on conversations. I ordered the steak frites and it was just wonderful! My boyfriend ordered the special which was halibut, asparagus, and mushroom risotto. Everything was perfect! The couple that was seated across from us split the special. The kitchen didn't hesitate to split this dish for them in the kitchen before bringing it out to our table. This is just excellent customer service! They are an elderly couple and could not possibly have eaten the entire meal by themselves. Our waiter was very attentive and nobody at the table ever had an empty glass. Also, your plate was cleared the moment that you finished with your meal. This was our first visit, but definitely not the last. Thank you for making our evening out with family and friends so very special. We will definitely be back in the near future.

The other, lettuce (never have seen that in a Maine lobster roll) and aioli). The one with butter had a nice brioche roll but most of the lobster was small claw ends vs nice chunks. The one on lettuce was better, more larger pieces of lobster, but meat was put onto a lot of lettuce to prop it up. It takes some effort, but buying a live lobster and cooking oneself is really the best way. I was hopeful- but ultimately disappointed.

The first time was in November 2025 and 2nd time March 2026 where the bartenders were professional, welcoming, knowledgeable, and made some of the best Bloody Marys we've had in Charlotte. The food was excellent, and we left both times excited to come back. Unfortunately, this Sunday's visit (around 2 p.m.) felt like a different restaurant. It was much busier, and service was noticeably lacking. We waited quite a while just to be acknowledged, our drinks weren't nearly the quality they had been before, and the Bloody Mary tasted like it came straight from a mix instead of being handcrafted like our previous visits. The food was also disappointing. It was much saltier than we remembered, and we never received the Caesar salad with steak we ordered. To the staff's credit, it wasn't on our bill, so we didn't mention it. Overall, no one was rude, but the attention to detail, professionalism, and overall experience that earned our previous five-star reviews just wasn't there this time. They have cornhole and ping pong and just a fun atmosphere out there. Our server was warm and attentive. We did not have to wait for refills and she was quick to answer any questions we had. We started with a few apps - the chips and onion dip and the pigs in a blanket. The chips were well salted and the onion dip was DELISH!!! The pigs were wrapped in homemade party dough and came with a honey mustard crème fraiche. They were so good!! For entrees we tried the fried chicken, prime rib dip, and the meatloaf. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The mashed potatoes were so good too. The only misstep on this dish was the biscuit. Way too dense and not very flavorful. The prime rib dip was tender and came on the most crispy bread. What a great combo! The only thing that wasn't great were the fries, just nothing too special. The meatloaf dish was flavorful and came with those yummy mashed potatoes so great pairing. We didn't have room for dresser on site but we did take the monkey bread to go and enjoyed it later. Good portion size and full of apple and caramel flavor. Did not regret taking that home!! Really looking forward to this spot opening closer to home. Highly recommended

The food is over the moon delicious with plenty of options and reasonable serving sizes. Even with the slightly high price point, it is well worth every penny. And they take allergies SO seriously! Literally went through a bunch of ingredients to find what would and wouldn't be dairy-allergy safe. Atmosphere is fun but cozy, too. 100% recommend! In-depth: Postino has quickly become one of my favorite places in the CLT area after my 10/10 experience here. To start, the food. My word, it's amazing! Everything my friend and I tried was delicious. The bruschetta is 100% worth trying (the spinach artichoke one is my favorite), and the west coaster panini + romaine salad was tasty at every bite. Their wine is also good quality, with a decent-sized portion poured. Allergy safety is a major thing for them, too. Our server (Lee = the best waitress!) and her manager looked through their bread and ingredients for about 30 minutes to confirm what was and wasn't dairy safe (I asked how dairy allergies are handled for when I bring my husband next time). They also had quite a few gluten-free options, too. The manager explained that she wants people to be able to just come in and relax for a few hours without worrying if they'll get sick, which I truly, truly appreciate. Lee shared a similar sentiment, which was amazing. Now price... Yes, it is a *bit* pricey, but it is well worth it. Nothing felt lacking as far as flavor goes, and the allergy safety is a huge thing. This is one of the few places I felt my sandwich and salad were worth every penny, even if it was $17. Also, their rewards program is great. I got a free bruschetta board, and they offer several other perks. Make sure to sign up before or while dining there to get some good deals! In addition to their sincere care for allergy safety, the service is fantastic all around. They do group service, meaning you'll have several servers, and they encourage you to grab anyone if you have questions. This takes the pressure off of waiting for one server to walk by and really helped me relax. And the atmosphere? I could stay there all day! It's a really fun vibe, but the lighting and seating are very cozy. Overall, I've already recommended this place to 5+ people and will be returning soon
