I was driving my kids to school this morning when my son noticed a huge praying mantis near the dash. He and I are both extremely fearful of bugs. I pulled over on the freeway on ramp (101 N at Tampa) and my kids jumped out of the car. We were there for nearly 10 minutes. Two gentlemen who were driving a Comfort Control Corp vehicle were the only ones to stop and ask "Hey, are u guys ok?" They were genuinely concerned. I told them about the praying mantis and without hesitation they pulled over and grabbed it and took it out of my car! I work in HR for a construction company and so I know how early these guys get up and how far they sometimes have to drive to job sites. We are eternally grateful for this kind gesture. I've used Comfort Controls numerous times since 2004. My Current HVAC was installed by them. I called on Monday to schedule a maintenance/checkup visit since it hadn't been looked at for quite a while. I spoke to Tracy who scheduled a Thursday visit between 1 and 5. I asked if I could get a phone call from someone on the day of to narrow down the time window and Tracy said I would get a call when the technician was on their way. On Thursday at noon I got a knock on the door and it was the technician (No phone call). Fortunately I was home at the time so the visit went smoothly. People make appointments and adjust their schedules so that things can get done. It would be nice if the folks at Comfort Controls would act like they respect the customers time and just do what they say they are going to do. read more

I confirmed my appointment with Tracy multiple times over the phone on Friday morning -- five times, to be exact -- because she kept calling back with new questions instead of asking everything at once. The appointment was set for Monday, 8-10 AM. At 9:33 AM, I called to get an ETA and was told the receptionist would check since I was the first stop on the tech's route. When Tracy called me back, she casually said, "We must have gotten disconnected," and then informed me the tech actually had the day off and wouldn't be coming at all. I took time off work for this appointment, only to find out there was never any intention of showing up. Completely disorganized and disrespectful of people's time. When another company wanted to charge me $825.00 labor only (as the parts were under warranty) to replace two boards on my less-than-2 year old heater/ac, Comfort Control came out, checked everything and found that the only issue was a tripped circuit breaker! How could another company not find that??? Geez - makes me think that other company thought they could pull one over on this old blonde! We just had a very positive experience with Comfort Control installing a new Carrier furnace. Brentt who came out to give us an estimate was very thorough in his analysis of how to improve our set up. I got four competing estimates and chose Comfort Control because I really liked Brentt's attention to detail. It stood out in contrast to the other bidders. His estimate also came in very fair! Scheduling was easy and his office people are friendly and responsive. The installation crew was excellent and very competent. An adjustment to the new system was necessary and Gregg was sent out the next day to fix the issue. He also left a positive impression with me and I would trust his knowledge in case of any future needs. Overall the airflow is much improved in our complicated and uneven floor plan. We can definitly tell a difference with a more even heat distribution. No more cold spots in the house. I feel that all my research paid off and can recommend this company. read more

We needed to create airflow paths for blocked-off air-conditioned rooms. They all had ducts going in but no way for hot air to escape. We are a video production studio and needed the venting to be sound isolating as we have a large fulfillment area outside the rooms. George came in and helped make a plan around our current layout. Timothy and his team came in to do the physical installs, which took about a week and involved cutting holes through the walls for vents. The solution they installed has worked great for our production rooms keeping the cool air flowing without letting the loud warehouse sounds come through. They designed a rectangular duct with a flexible conduit inside to diffuse the sound waves. I think it works great. The team is very polite and professional. The most unreliable company you could ever hope to work with. Backstory: We have been customers for 14+years. We've been faithful. When we moved homes we moved them with us. We installed a new heating unit and spent over $10,000 with them. They messed that up as well because we use propane and not gas. They had not informed their service side about that, so it took longer to install by a week. We have had a yearly service agreement with them and they come in and supposedly change filters and make sure the unit is good. After 14+ years of service I called to get an explanation on the crazy dust, non existent filter for my new house. They were not helpful and condescending. I'm not sure what happened to the management of this company but they aren't at all what they used to be. I'm thrilled to be done with them. I really mean that too. There are amazing companies out there that appreciate loyal customers. This is not one of them. Stay away from this awful company unless you want to be talked down to and laughed at. Warning- something has changed with this company. We have been customers for over 20 years. Always very personal service, reliable, attentive and speedy especially when Laura was employed for years there. We bought and installed 2 brand new HVAC systems about 6-7 years ago with Comfort Control. Compressor just went out. Called left messages. No call back. Then spoke to scheduler and got very impersonal service saying first available was 5 days out. I explained that we have been longtime customers and bought these units from them. Scheduler said "well thats all I have available, there are a lot of new customers calling saying their companies can't get out so we are all full. I asked to speak to manager and he said there is no manager on today. I said goodbye and called another company who is servicing the unit same day. Too bad I like being a loyal customer but this was not acceptable. read more

I had to have major work done to my A/C, my A/C would be down for 2 days in over 100 degree weather, I was frightened for me and for workers. I'm a project manager and chose Comfort Control for tough retrofit project in Beverly Hills. They provided solutions that no one else provided. In fact the other HVAC contractors just walked away, saying they wouldn't touch the systems and didn't know how it passed inspection. But when the rep came, they offered a non-invasive solution my client could live with, as well as provide sound mechanical engineering so that I could be assured this solution wasn't guess work. They turned a challenging problem into an HVAC that works great now. UPDATE: 6 months later Roy from Comfort Control came to service the HVAC package units and take care of a small warranty issue. He's smart, knowledgeable, thorough, efficient, considerate of the owners and considerate of their property and NICE! I couldn't ask for a better technician. This means a lot to me. This is a big deal. I don't hire or recommend just any contractors. They are few and far between, because when I hire contractors for my clients, they represent me. Also, my client wanted me to make sure I went on Yelp and gave this company and Roy a good review. This was a big deal to her. I knew that my insulation should be updated..When Comfort Control installed the new insulation, thermostat. Could not believe the difference it made. The installers were all very courteous and explained everything they were doing. Couldn't be happier. Also use them to service my furnace and a/c every year. About 3 years ago, when my old Payne gravity furnace (circa 1927) wouldn't stay on, I called the Payne company. They tried twice unsuccessfully - their repair men weren't familiar with the old furnaces. My insurance company said I should replace the furnace, but gravity furnaces are no longer made. I'd have to get a forced air unit. I am so glad I found Comfort Control. Russ and Gregg made several visits, worked on it many hours, diagnosing, testing, rewiring, cleaning and replacing parts, adding more safety controls and a modern limit switch. Then Russ wrote a letter which I sent to the insurance company, explaining that there were still many gravity furnaces in Los Angeles county, describing what repairs were done and why he now considered the furnace safe. Happy ending - I got the insurance, the furnace still works well, and I have the even and non-blowing gravity furnace heat I prefer. Comfort Control is professional, experienced, creative and tenacious - they follow through until they get a solution. They are the best! read more

I've used CC for almost 20 yrs now with their maintenance agreement and have always received excellent service to date with never a problem until today. Last week I received a letter from them stating if I signed up for auto renewal I'd get a 5% discount each year though they did go up on their rates a bit. I called their billing dept and spoke to a Jeramy who didn't seem too knowledgeable right from the beginning though I did agree to pay by credit card and he confirmed he would send me a confirmation via email for this auto renewal. I didn't receive any email confirmation back so I called today and spoke to him again and he said this service is for paperless and they don't send out email confirmations. I explained he should have told me that last week instead of confirming he would. I also talked to a supervisor named Chris who also confirmed this service was paperless and they could not send me any confirmation. I understand paperless, but an email is not paperless and someone should know the difference and educate their employees. I'm only stating this issue because CC's billing dept got me going with their incompetence I felt. If I would have handled my business like this during my business courier I'd have been fired. Comfort Control Corp. (which has an office in Santa Clarita, as well) did an amazing job installing a new furnace and A/C in my mom's house. Laura Pablo, their sales engineer, did a great job of explaining and then over-seeing every detail of the installation, including the Herz testing and city inspection--something that some other companies don't tell you about, leaving you to deal with it when you go to sell your house. The extra work they do to enclose the furnace area to maximize the unit's efficiency may take a little longer but it will save you money in the long run. On top of this they were less expensive than the other companies (I got 5 bids). Stellar follow-up. This is a major expenditure for a home, I highly recommend you contact this company before making a final decision. read more

I have a service contract with them and twice a year Greg comes out for servicing. He is wonderful, meticulous,and lets me know if anything is needed. I have referred Comfort Control to several of my friends and,they too,have been more than satisfied with their installations and with Greg. I would have zero problems using or referring this company. They listen, they are concerned with any issues,and they are fairly priced for service and installations. It would be a big mistake not using them for all your air conditioning needs. read more

Our experience with Comfort Control was one of out of control. They appear to be incompetent. They have the contract to retrofit our apartment building and the consensus of the tenants is that they dont know what they are doing. Within a 72 hours period they have gone from their original installation plan to version B and then C and now D. Whats worse is we never know what to expect from them,...They aren't done and we are all keeping our fingers crossed that it doesnt get any worse. But if the phrase "blind leading the blind" means anything ..that is what we are seeing or in this NOT seeing. read more
