I got a mini split installed in my place since it was too hot on the third floor. Louis came and gave me a quote. Quickly after my deposit, the job was started. I appreciate the professionalism of this company. They asked me every step of the way how and where I wanted wires/tubes to be placed. They also went out of their way to show me what they were doing. Finally, they told me of things around my house that should be fixed that I would never have noticed like my railing on my roof deck and some parts of the sewer connection. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Initially, when I considered hiring this company, I was assured by Luis (the owner) that all documents were up-to-date and on file with L&I. Having been told that, I decided to hire them. I was instructed that funds would be needed on day one in order to purchase required supplies. It wasn't until after I paid that I learned their documents were not in order i.e., the insurance had lapsed which in turn is causing me delays and a lot of money. At first, I was told the insurance company did not submit the audit information to the city, so it seemed the company did not have insurance which means they are not authorized to work. The next day I was told there was a request put in place for emergency temporary business insurance which needed to be activated and submitted to the audit agency. A week later I contacted Luis, he said the insurance company was trying to expedite activating the new policy and once that was done, he would be able to update the information with the city within an hour. I asked Luis what compensation amount did he feel was fair since these delays are costing me a lot of money. He told me that he would have to get back with me on that. A few days later I received a call from Emmanuel, whom I've never spoken with much less heard of, telling me that he was a partner in the business that handled the administrative and financial duties. He told me that the inurance was active, they just needed to submit other documents i.e., worker's comp, tax returns etc., to the audit agency which takes time. He then began asking questions and wanting explanations that I had already spoken to Luis about. I did not feel comfortable speaking with someone I had never heard of, much less explaning business details. When he didn't receive the explanation he was looking for, he began explaining how the audit process worked. I told him that I did not need him to explain that to me, I just want to know what compensation they were offering. He told me there is nothing he could do; I would have to wait just like he has to wait and I was getting nothing from him. Fast forward a few more days, I contacted Luis for an update and he said he should be receiving the new policy number. After not hearing from Luis the rest of the week, I contacted him again asking for an update and he told me that he did not have reception because he was in the DR. A vacation, really?!? While I'm here losing money!! The next time I sent Luis a text asking for an update and was told he was currently on the phone with the insurance company trying to find out the status. I did not get a response that day or the next. The next few times I contacted him, it was the same story-still waiting on the policy number. All of the communication between Luis and I has been through text and I thought it was time to have an actual conversation so I sent a text to Luis asking him to have a phone conversation and that it was importatnt that we spoke. His response to my text was "Please text or send me an email going forward to communicate." This situation has been going on since March and it is now June and the required documentation has yet to be submitted. My next step will be contacting L&I to make sure this does not happen to anyone else. Bottom line, the company has cut off all verbal communication ,offered no type of compensatopn and left me in a bind. I found this company through thumbtack. Serious poor communication. I was communicating through the website with Luis who said his tools were stolen and the app was really bad and would give me short answers and couldn't accommodate my schedule (after 2:30pm). Finally, once at my house, the AC was checked and told it was fine, I thought he checked the Heat too as that was part of the $125 HVAC system check, NOPE. I contacted again through thumbtack and once again, communication about price was poor, service call states $59, no other prices were stated, even after I confirmed it. My heat was blowing cold air, we did the usual troubleshooting on our own, Johnny came out. Told our pilot was out and the wires were put in wrong on our new thermostat, charged me $175, for what? Luis never stated that I would be charged for such an outrageous amount of money. We technically knew what needed to be done, we just did it incorrectly. I'm annoyed that I was not told that we could be charged so much money. If I did NOT ask ahead of time, I would not be so angry with the amount of money. read more
