Serviceman from Roto Rooter contacted me to let me know that he was on his way. He was courteous…read more and very nice. He did a great job with no complaints. Would use him again if I have any problems.

Wow - truly awful. One of the worst days and experiences of my life…read more They were scheduled between 8AM-10AM. They did not show up until 11:35. He did not leave until 8 PM. And the issue still persists, and I also have a worse issue and a broken toilet, all because of the tech. The tech seemingly had no idea what he was doing, and was mostly guessing and completely making it up as he went. He spent a lot of time in his work vehicle, googling and asking ChatGPT what to do. I am not guessing or assuming this happened. He flat out volunteered this information and told me that was what he was doing. For story clarity - I have a smart toilet that is tankless and has heated seats, bidet, lights, etc. All of this was explained in the service ticket when opened. If they did not know how to fix this, or had no techs knowledgeable, they should have called and informed me this. Instead they sent someone who had no idea what they were doing. The issue I needed fixed was a whistling and running water sound. No leak. Just the sound. After 2.5 hours, it seemed like he had possibly "fixed" that issue almost by accident. I could not hear the sound any more. I thought we were good. (We'll find out later, that he did NOT fix this). He then proceeded to open up the electronics under the seat/lid, and began pulling wires and plugs and fuses left and right, without taking a picture or noting where they return. He also applied lube to O-rings and other fixtures which later in the day, while googling, he found out he should not have done. This began causing more problems. When he put it all together, the toilet would fill/flush, but not stop. It just kept running. Whatever he did, somehow turned off the function or wire that "stopped" the fill once the toilet completed a flush. And he had no idea how to fix this. Additionally, he changed stuff around, so the remote stopped working. You hit "Bidet" and the lights on the toilet change. He also was ineptly unable to reapply the hoses back to the seat/toilet and the wall valve. I would say pulling these off and on took up almost 2 hours. At one point he said he would go and buy a larger hose to go from the wall to the unit. I gave him my tape measure to measure the hose. He left, for an hour, and came back with the exact same size hose. Like how does that happen. Towards the end, when he was reapplying the hoses, the seat and unit began leaking so we could not even troubleshoot anymore, because we could not turn on the water to test it because it would go everywhere. So at 8PM, I told him enough was enough, because he clearly could not do what was needed to be done. I am now left with a broken toilet, the sound of filling water is back (so again he did not fix it). All thanks to the ineptitude of Roto Rooter. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE THIS COMPANY!

I had a frustrating and disappointing experience with Plumbing Pals that I want to share so others…read moredon't go through the same. I called them about a kitchen sink issue where water was draining slowly, and pipe is leaked or cracked under the sink. I clearly mentioned both issues during the call. They told me there would be a $78 diagnostic/service fee, which would be credited toward the final repair cost if I chose to go ahead with the work. That seemed fair, so I agreed. The technician who came out did not do any repair work. He looked at the issue and told me he only handles drain cleaning, not pipe replacement and that a different plumber would need to come for that. He also said if he attempted to unclog the drain, it would worsen the leak and the sink still couldn't be used. After he left, my card was charged $78. Shortly after, I received a quote of $475 to unclog and replace the P-trap (drain pipe). Even though it seemed high, I approved it. I also downloaded a $50 coupon from their website, as they suggested. Once the work was completed by a plumber the next day, I asked to confirm that the $78 would be credited toward the $475, along with the coupon. He said only the coupon would apply, and the $78 would not be refunded or included, even though that fee was supposed to cover diagnostics, and this job was a direct result of it. I called Plumbing Pals for clarification, and they sent me a recording of my initial call as "proof" that I only requested drain cleaning. Ironically, that very recording clearly shows I said there was a leak or crack in the pipe that might need replacement, which confirms I was upfront from the beginning. It's obvious they either didn't listen or chose to ignore what I said. When I tried to escalate the matter, I was connected with a supervisor named April, who was extremely rude and dismissive. She insisted that the $78 would not be refunded or credited and told me if I wasn't happy, I "didn't need to do business with them again." As a customer, I'm not a plumber, I rely on professionals to diagnose the issue (which is why they charge the service fee in the first place), communicate honestly, and apply the service fee toward the repair as advertised. This company failed on all fronts. In short, this was a misleading, overpriced, and unprofessional experience. I regret using Plumbing Pals and strongly suggest others look elsewhere for honest and respectful plumbing service.
