My entire family have been patients of Dr. Homayun for over 20years. Both my parents had periodontal and implant reconstruction done by him. My children had their wisdom teeth removed by him. Now I'm his patient. For years I had suffered from reoccurring sinus infection that would come and go. I even had a sinus surgery that helped a little but the sinus infections kept on coming. I went for a check up with Dr. Homayun and he diagnosed my sinus infection originating from a failed root canal treatment that was done many years ago. Almost immediately after my surgery a few months ago , my sinus issues all resolved and not only I can breath better , but I have no had a single episode of sinus issues any more. Dr. Homayun is one of the most knowledgeable doctors that I have ever met. He is smart, kind ,gentle, and he is blessed with golden hands. I don't typically get on yelp but this experience I made the exception !! I had a chipped front tooth for the last year and it was one of my front teeth for about a year and I hadn't been to the dentist in forever !! Thankfully I pass this office on my way to work every day and gave it a try once my medi cal went through and so glad I did !! It was easy to get in and at first we thought I'd need a root canal and after we did my deep cleaning we decided it was best to not and though it extended my crowns he didn't want to do anything unnecessary... I got approvals pretty quick and I loved Dr Jamil and his assistant wish I had his name !! I always felt comfortable with what we were doing and all questions always answered. Leaving a verrrryyy happy patient =D Came in today and yesterday for consultation for tooth Implant and Braces. Left out today with bottom row of braces complete (woot woot)!! I come back in January '19 to get top brackets put on. When I first walked in to Comfort Dental I was greeted by the lovely Veronica. She acknowledged me and said she'll have me in the doctors chair in a few. The wait before I saw Dr. Zamani(Orthodontist) was less than 5mins, very speedy. Dr. Zamani is cooler than the other side of your pillow, seriously. He walked in with his swagger and big smile and asked me what I was there for. I explained to him all my problems and worries and he responded, we got u covered, kinda like the State Farm.. Hahaha no that's not what he said but that's how it felt. I felt like I could trust him and he was very knowledgeable of his practice. He told me what he thought was best for my mouth situation but ultimately let me decide what I wanted to do. Before any procedures took place, I looked Dr. Zamani dead in his eyes and asked him if I could trust him. He shook my hand without hesitation and confidently said "you can trust me". That meant a lot to me. When it came to finances, Espy was so helpful and worked with my financial situation. We looked over all options and went with the one that worked best for my situation. Let me say first that I am not a fan of going to the dentist. As a result of not visiting a dentist for several years (ashamed to say it may have been upward to 10 years) I made an appointment with Comfort Dental in Reseda. I knew that my teeth were in bad shape. After my initial evaluation I needed one root canal, two crowns and 10+ filings and deep cleaning. How was I ever going to get through this? First, I had several of my fillings done, then my root canal which I thought was going to be like going through surgery. It was a breeze, really. No pain whatsoever. To think that months before going I was in agony with my mouth - so surprised, so relieved and so stupid of me to wait that long. Then, my crown prep work was done. Again, no pain, not even the Novocain shots. After the Novocain wore off, minor soreness - did not need anything for pain. Last phase now, waiting for my permanent crowns to be placed. Now comes the magic . . . . Dr. Noreen was truly the most caring dentist I could ever imagine. Pretty painless on everything she does. I don't think I could ever see any other dentist. The entire staff at Comfort Dental, Abby, Elva and Espy were awesome. So easy to work with - kind, friendly, professional - I never thought that I would be writing such a positive review about having dental work - lots of dental work. Dr. Noreen really cares about her patients, she got ME to care about my dental hygiene. I followed her instructions and my teeth/mouth/gums are in such better shape. Dr. Homayun and his bookkeeper at "Comfort or City Dental" at 18511 Sherman Way are con artists running a fraudulent business. He sold me a dental treatment over $8,000.00 that was unneeded according to the head of UCLA DENTAL DEPT. It's been over 6 months they have given every excuse why the deposit hasn't been returned. This morning he said he'll return it by the end of the month when his bookkeeper said it was sent out this past Tuesday. While at the initial visit there was a man leaving the office saying don't ever use their services. Now I know why. I'm sure the positive reviews are written by his office. read more

They have a beautiful well maintained office. Parking is available. All employers are very very nice. However, I went in on a promotion coupon for $25 which mentioned cleaning of teeth and xrays. Xrays were completed. Then polishing and varnishing of teeth but no cleaning. They need to revise their offer on the coupons as it seems like false advertising. Afterwards, they said for a cleaning it would be $300 for the top, $300 for the bottom, and $600 for the bottom which I declined. read more

Unfortunately I have to downgrade my rating to 3 stars. The dentist had to take impressions to fit me for implants. The mold he used was too big for my mouth and was digging into my cheek. You can see by the photo it left a bruise. As soon as he put it in my mouth i screamed in pain and told him it's too big and digging in. He insisted it wasn't too big. I kept telling him it was and that it hurts. Yet he insisted it wasn't and that it had to stay in for 3 minutes. For 3 minutes I had to endure the hard plastic mold cutting into my gum. I kept crying I can't I can't. Removing the mold was excruciating. I don't know if it was because he had to wedge the mold to get it out causing it to further cut into my gum or if it was because the material for the impression had hardened and now there were 2 things cutting into my gum. It hurt so bad when he was trying to remove it that i was crying and screaming in pain. Never in my life has taking an impression of my mouth hurt so badly. Dentists have always told me in the past that I have a small mouth for an adult and have used equipment on me that they would use on children because even small size adult equipment is too big for my mouth. I had told the dentist that I have a very sensitive mouth and zero tolerance for pain. What most people consider a pinch is excruciating for me. He knew this. Yet chose to not listen when I kept telling him the mold hurt and crying I can't I can't. Please listen to your patients. If they tell you that something you put in their mouth is too big, cutting them, digging in or causing pain please listen to them! There was no reason for the impression to hurt the way it did. He should have taken the mold out at my first scream and used a smaller one. I guess he couldn't be bothered to look for a smaller mold. My mouth is still in pain. read more

I see that my previous review was removed so I will repost. Initially I was referred to Comfort dental center through a government grant back in January 2019. I was very happy because I was awarded 6,400. Which was supposed to be used for crowns and implants to finally fix my problematic teeth. When I went to this dentist, Dr. Michael Homayun, he mis diagnosed my mouth leaving me with several missing teeth to this day. I have had nothing but problems with this dentist. I have had failed implants which need to be taken out and redone. The snap on flippers for the bottom don't fit. They look like teeth that are made for a Halloween costume,the top flipper for tooth #8 was cut in half because he didn't take into consideration that he was placing the crown for tooth #6. He should have considered this when he did the impression for the implant crown on #6 but did not. He did not match the colors of the flippers to my teeth so it's very noticeable and discolored, not to mention extremely embarrassing.He constantly canceled or rescheduled my dental appointments if it was after 4:00p.m. When I did see him, he would take a quick look at my mouth and tell me to come back in 2, 3 , 4 and sometimes 6 weeks only for me to be disappointed due to the fact that little to no progress was being done to get my teeth back. To this day, he has SCAMMED me out of twenty six thousand dollars, I lost my dental grant money that I should have received but didn't and my dental insurance paid him money on my behalf as well. With missing teeth, I am not able to go to restaurants and enjoy meals out. I'm not able to eat in public settings with friends. This whole experience has really messed with me mentally so please beware of this dental office as they crooks and frauds and are only there to take your money. read more

I have always been scared of going to dentists until I met Dr Shahisaman. I had few cavities, and she took care of them without causing me any pain or discomfort. She is very knowledgeable and explained to me in detail what was wrong with my teeth. She took her time explaining my XRAYs in detail and what needed to get treated. Was led to believe my insurance would cover the work I needed done. So, I drove 3 hours each way only to be pushed and prodded to get work done that the insurance didn't cover. They pushed all kinda of payment plans and when I told them that I just wanted the extraction, they finally said ok. Only to have the dentist change his mind and send me away without helping me at all. Not to mention the bums out front of the crappy looking building. It has been a while since I have been at this dentist, and I think I can say, that I'll never go back. First the good, then the back. Patti and Carla are great, lovely, and super super nice. I only have love for them. The bad; everything else. I needed quite a lot done, and as stated in my previous review, i have horrendous anxiety when it comes to dentists. First I needed four teeth pulled in my upper mouth and bone grafting done., and the dentist that did it, got irritated that I shed a tear. It was so painful, and my tissue was already swollen due to some infection from a cyst in my lower mouth, and he was clearly irritated and rude after that. When I got out of the chair and asked what to do for aftercare, he told me, there's a bag over there, waving his hand towards something, and then he left. Wow! When I came back the week after for a check up, I asked the owner, not to get the previous dentist, and told him what happened. He apologized, profusely and promised me that would not happen again and that I would never see that doctor again. Yea, right! The next doctor that worked on me, was dr. Homayan himself. I thought, now I'll be fine. He understood my anxiety and all. But no, get in the chair, fast, do two root canals, a pull, and some bone rafting. wham bam slam, out the door, no passion, no being nice, I wasn't even a person. After that, it took me months to heal. Nobody told it would take that long. I really wanted to continue, since I had a cyst incapsulating the lower front tooth, where I needed a root canal, and the cyst was "quiet". And the root canal was acute, but no I had to wait 5 months, and the cyst got infected, the tooth was in so much worse state, that now it had to be pulled. Had they done it earlier, they could have saved it. A new dentist again. A woman who normally only worked on kids she said, which left me worried. How much experience did she have with my kind of teeth. Apparently none. She kept numbing me, and since that didn't work, she injected straight into the infected cyst. Huge no no, since the numbing is acid, and acid injected into an infection, is never good. I stopped the session, and went home in so much pain. Needless to say the pain got worse and worse, and despite very very strong painkillers, I had no relief. Went back the next day, and they had a new dentist for me. The only good one. Nickname, Duke. Knowledgeable, kind, professional to the teeth. He numbed me from ear to ear, the infected tooth didn't care, and he explained to me, that this was the best he could possible do. Told me, this will hurt, we have to do it, and it will be over fast. Because of the cyst, actually a cystic acne cyst, that surrounded the tooth, it could not be numbed. I said okay, just f...... pull it out, and he did. Worst pain ever, but just for a moment, and then Relief. No tears at all. He cleaned it all out well, bone grafted it, and told me, he had only done that twice before, and both patients fainted from the pain. I didn't even cry. I'm not a chicken. For once I was happy. My next appointment was a root canal, butDuke had stopped working there, so now it was a new one. Another female one. She was ok, but because I needed a whole long bridge at the bottom, she didn't find it necessary to clean the surface of the tooth after the root canal, but just put a temporary on. Now it's all black. And I haven't been back, and I'm not going back. I feel the have butchered my mouth and my bite is all off. Please don't go to this dentist. I wouldn't even trust them with a teeth cleaning anymore. They made a upper partial denture, that they lost, and I got a new one, and it just don't fit, gives me a terrible headache, since only the two back teeth are touching when I bite down. I'm just tired of keep telling them what their job is, and tired of getting it done wrong every time. read more

i've never enjoyed going to the dentist i'm sure no one does but at Comfort Dental it was a whole other experience. everyone there is so nice and friendly it really makes the experience wonderful. i've been three times for x-rays, wisdom teeth extraction, and a follow up. the xrays were done so quick and weren't uncomfortable as they'd usually be. i got all four wisdom teeth removed and the process took maybe 40 minutes and there wasn't too much bleeding or swelling of the face after which was quite nice. the follow up was quick and easy. basically to sum it up, i highly recommend this place because the staff is amazing and everything is done very quick and easy. read more

I have United Concordia insurance. Which means I only have to pay something like $20-$25 per quadrant as my co-pay for teeth cleaning. This office attempted to charge me $400 for a teeth cleaning. I filed a grievance with my insurer and after their investigation into the matter they were able to confirm that I was being grossly overcharged. Do not go here. They sat me down at a table and told me I needed the "super deep" teeth cleaning which was extra expensive. Admittedly my teeth aren't the greatest, but my provider (who also sucks, don't go with United Concordia) straight up told me that their "deep chakra cleanse teeth cleaning" or whatever madeup BS they were pushing doesn't exist. Not only that but their x-ray machine had some parts held together with tape which was like super comforting and totally put me at ease. Also Yelp sucks. Somehow they managed to have my review removed, but I have no problem re posting. I would like everyone to be aware, do not trust this place. My husband went here over a year ago because he broke a tooth. The doctor and manager at the initial visit quoted us $2,500 to extract the tooth and place an implant. My husband applied for CareCredit and they said they will bill Care Credit for the full amount of $2,500 and made it seem like the services would be done fairly soon. Given he needs time for the bone graft to heal so the implant can go in. This seemed similar to what other places told us and since it was local we stayed here. After having the tooth extracted and a bone graft my husband has had nothing but horrible service. The doctor is very defensive and wont just let his managers handle issues because he wants to always argue. My husband has been told time after time to come back in a month, come back in a month, come back in a month. For over a year!! Meanwhile a year ago they got $2,500 from us! Now we sought legal advice and after taking the first step in requesting all of his paper work from them I discovered they are already stating that he received a tooth implant last year. It is pretty obvious that he did not, and they charged us $1,000 just for something he doesn't have. On top of that there are a whole bunch of other charges that were for services never completed. We have now found a trustworthy dentist which is why we are taking legal matters since we will have to pay to have the implant actually done. Its a shame that they can't just accept that they are a scam and give us back the money they owe since they never did the work. We have reported them to the BBB, CDA, and LA County Dental Society. If you come here use caution with what they charge you for, and don't ever let them say we have you pay up front. We have learned our lesson but it may end up costing us some serious money if we don't get it back. Word of advice after dealing with them for nearly 18 months. Stay Away!!! Latest Update: The manager contacted me stating they will honor the price we were originally told, so we decided to give them a 2nd try. She asked about me removing my review and I informed her I would remove it once the services were performed and my husband is happy. Somehow they blocked my review, but I can re-post it!!! I have been seeing this same dentist for years. I've had plenty of work done as well as my spouse. Last year a dentist there, (have not seen her prior) did a filling, at least thats what i though. I was not notified that i was a root canal. After 2-3 hours sitting in the chair I went home and few months later I went back for pain on the same tooth. The dentist stated that it needed to be filed down, it could be hitting my bottom tooth. After a few more months I noticed that something was wrong. As I went back, Dr. Homayun stated that the tooth is cracked and I need to have a bone graft and other dental work that would cost me $5,000.00. Not stating or admitting that the prior dentist did my tooth incorrect and caused this issue. Went for a second opinion and when I saw the e-ray, it clearly shows that the other dentist went pasted my root and did a bad job. My new dentist stated the same things that needed to be fixed but the total amount would be $2,500.00 and some of it was covered by my insurance. SHOCKING, since this dentist wanted me to apply for Care Credit. Trying to get my records was a hard one (which I was already told by an insider). Patty stated that they were mailed on 1/30 and still no records. I went to the office to pick them up and all she gave me was 3 sheets. As she stated, "that's all we have". I know there's more. I don't need a Patient Ledger. I stated told her, I will let my lawyer know and she stated, "yes, maybe then you will get them all". Top if off, my spouse asked for his records and someone stated that they don't have records on him. After spending thousands of dollars with Care Credit, you have NO records on him. That's another story. The ONLY two people their that get my credit is Dr. Tay and Harrison. Without them you might as well forget it. Its funny that they keep changing there name of the office. You may change your name but not your staff. Not the last you will hear from me. By the way, they like to place all kinds of patient information on the desk for everyone to see, i noticed that patients where disputing all kinds of services from care credit. That was the worst dental appointment I have ever had. I had a 9am appointment. I arrived at 8:45 and was not taken back until 9:45. The dentist just looked at my teeth and immediately told me I needed orthodontia, veneers and to have a "hole in my tooth" fixed. They did X-rays and then They proceeded to try and sell me $7000 ortho and $12,000 veneers. I told them I was not interested. I was then taken into a consult room to discuss veneer financing options! At this point I had been in the office for 2 hours and was frustrated. I told them again I was only here for a cleaning and would not be buying veneers. They took me back again to the chair to be cleaned. This was the most aggressive cleaning I have ever had. She cut the roof of my mouth somehow. I actually had tears running down my face during this "cleaning". I was here for a total of 2:20 min, 13 of those minutes were teeth cleaning. They didn't even floss my teeth. When I went to pay my copay the lady up front could tell and told me not to worry about paying since I had to wait so long. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. read more

The dentist clearly had not done her homework before she stepped into the room to even look at my chart to see my previous visits. They consistently call me by the wrong name! They push dental work that is clearly not needed! I have a great smile, straight white teeth, no cavities and no major issues with my teeth!
