My fairly old R-22 heat pump became inoperative after a storm here in DC. After submitting a request for a quote via Yelp, Troy replied nearly immediately. When I called back, he arrived within an hour, driving directly from another job site. He fixed the issue (one of the fuses was blown) within five minutes, and his overall charge was lower than a similar heat pump repair I needed several years ago. His estimate charge was also less than the others who replied. He also explained what he did, repeating the failed fuse's continuity check in front of me. 1 star for quick response, but bad rating due to price. I'm giving a bad rating because of how overcharged I got. The technician cleaned the coil in my HVAC system that was moldy and deodorized the system as well. The issue with my HVAC system was musty odor, But also told him I would like for him to just check out my HVAC unit to see if it's still healthy and working orderHe was there for an hour and 15 minutes approximately. When it was time to pay up he said that's $475. To my surprise I was like wow really that much? Then he said how about $325? I agreed paid up and that was that. Recently I met a friend who is a maintenance director and has been working with HVAC systems for over 40 years. I told him about my experience in the price and he was shocked. He told me I shouldn't have gotten charged anything over $200. read more

I contacted Troy through Yelp. He responded right away. He was able to give me a same day appointment at 12pm. I didn't contact him until after10AM about a heating and hot water problem. That was the 1st STAR. The 2nd STAR came at 11:58am when he called and said he was running 2 minutes late. Troy was on his way to to 5 STARS. Next upon arriving he called when he was outside and had on a mask we are all trying to be safe from COVID. Before entering into my home he put on shoe covers DING DING 3 STARS by the way my carpet needs shampooing anyway but I really appreciate that. He was able to find the problem in less than 15 mins and gave me the price of fixing the problem. I'm sure you already guested it 4 STARS you want to know why it's because I didn't fall out of my seat because of the price. The price was very reasonable. Unlike other companies that gave me a range of what it would cost or wanted to charge me just to give me an estimate, he gave me an exact cost and broke down everything that it would include which was way better than anyone else! Quick response time and Troy was able to come within a few ours of our initial request on a hot day. Very reasonable assessment fee especially for same day service. Troy got our ac up and running within minutes. He could have just left for the day but he noticed other issues with our hvac unit and recommended additional work that we knew needed to be done. He gave a fair quote and promised to come back within the week to work on the recommendations. Some businesses fail to follow up but not Troy. He called to say he ordered the parts and set up an appointment to come back.
