I was in need of second-opinion and consultation regarding a leaking HVAC unit. I wanted to make sure the leak was difficult and too costly to repair, and whether a new installation is advised. We discussed on the phone for a long time what the issues were with the hvac unit. He listened carefully to the whole saga of the hvac unit and laid out the various options he thinks I have--all this before being asked to work on anything. He went over the details of the tests he could run and answered every one of my dozens of questions. He answered my texts throughout the day and night. He made time in his busy schedule (squeezed in my appointment late in the day and had to work late) to run another leak test that I asked him for. He gave me the assurance I needed, not to mention a very fair pricing for the urgent leak test. Carlos is the most trustworthy contractor I've ever worked with. As soon as I realized this I rushed on it (last year was long, it just did not come up for me at all. One thing I really appreciate about Carlos is how personable and professional he is. I emailed him just a few days ago, and here he already was! There was a bit of confusion with the time -- he initially said tomorrow, but he ended up coming today, but it was all good! I work with many hvac professionals for services to my properties. One of the worst experiences I had was with C&V! Carlos quoted a total of $430 for a capacitor replacement which is much higher than national average. As this was a rental property and tenant wanted the HVAC fixed asap, I had to give green light to get the replacement done. After the service was completed, he changed the price to $525 for capacitor replacement. When i reminded him of his quote, he threatened to take his part out and just charge for the visit. Horrible customer service to threaten a customer like this! I ended up paying $490 which again for a capacitor replacement is high. I am now questioning whether some of the reviews are real and would NOT recommend this company! read more

I have several properties with HVAC systems and Carlos has been phenomenal servicing each one of them. Many times HVAC repair folks will temporarily solve a problem without diagnosing the root cause and truly fixing what's wrong. That approach is costly and leaves the homeowner with an intermittently broken HVAC - very frustrating! I rarely ever need to call Carlos out again once he services one of my properties. He's thorough and doesn't give you bandaid solutions. He's fixed about 2-3 problems that other HVAC repair folks would have simply said "replace the whole system".
