I stayed here for one night. It was good overnight hotel with basic amenities for what most overnight traveling need. The room was decent, although the walls are a little on the thin side because we could clearly distinguish a man's heated conversation next door, so I asked for a new room at a quieter section of the building and they obliged with no issues. The upstairs corridor's floor is quite squeaking in sections, so that should be addressed. Also, they recently did some remodeling and painting, but they are not done in my opinion. For example, the bathroom door & trim were recently painted, however the original rusty door hinges were left, so it looks not complete or some would argue tacky. The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful, especially for when she designated a new room. I had a quick breakfast, which comes with your stay, and it was pretty good, although I only had wheat toast, yogurt, and black coffee. They all good, especially the coffee. There's plenty of parking and access the Interstate 5. read more

We didn't think hard when booking this place since we were exhausted and it didn't pay off well. The linens were stained all over, there was disgusting mold in the shower, and the place overall just seemed dirty. The pool area was closed for renovation so I can't speak to that area but honestly given the cleanliness elsewhere I probably wouldn't have entered anyway. The worst of it was the breakfast area. They advertised a "hot breakfast" but getting there an hour after it started being served, the only thing hot would've been a waffle since the microwave was broken. We ended up leaving prematurely because an un-masked employee was rummaging around in the cabinets under the food area while loudly yelling to someone behind the desk across the hall. We later learned that he was getting the equipment used to keep the *real* hot breakfast items warm. Those breakfast options (eggs, sausage, etc) were set up less than an hour before breakfast service ended and we were checking out! The staff seemed to be showing around someone (maybe a higher-up employee?) at that time so I guess they decided to make it seem like they actually served the breakfast they advertised. Convenience isn't everything. Stay somewhere else where what's advertised isn't just a facade behind which mold grows. read more

Tournament weekend .. the coaches choice. Guest service, greeted at the front desk our room was ready for check in. They had fresh baked cookies out. Location is across from a mall and movie theater. Plenty to do while passing time between the games. Breakfast nothing to really boast about it's the basic continental items. Room was clean and spacious. Double Queen with microwave and fridge. When you come in it smells good and clean. The rooms looks alright but they need painted. I moved my pillow before laying down and found a bed bug crawling. My husband and I pulled the bed out and found more in sheets and at the head of the bed. We took pictures and video and showed the hotel staff but they acted so surprised and said they did not have a bed bug issue. So my husband said it's 2:00am let's go to another room. Before doing anything we checked around that room and we saw more behind the bed on the wall and furniture. Now if that is not a problem I'm not sure what is. We got our belongings and left to sleep in the vehicle. Why not be honest and admit there was a problem. I have stayed here two times now within the year and has been both wonderful experiences. The rooms are clean and neat. However, during my last stay a few weeks ago my tub was clogged. I would have reported it but I was just there for the night and it wasn't too inconvenient. Anywhoo, the "continental" breakfast was far from the usual continental breakfasts. They had yogurt, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, a waffle bar, sausage, seasoned potato wedges, cereal, toast, fruit, apple juice, orange juice and coffee/tea! I can say I am a seasoned traveler, and the breakfast here tops all complimentary breakfasts. I probably missed some items, but there was so much food you don't have to eat for hours! Cheap room, indoor pool and hot tub, friendly staff, clean rooms, fluffy pillows, walking distance to the mall and major restaurants/fast food joints, plenty of parking and right off the freeway. If I need to stay in Kelso for any reason I will be coming back to this Comfort Inn. (Also, anyone who reads this review should come out and support Cowlitz Gamers for Kids. It's a great event with awesome music while you meander around the tables upon tables of retro video game items and paraphernalia. It happens in the month of April for one day... normally a saturday and all proceeds go to the Childrens Justice and Advocacy Center: "It is CJAC's mission to provide children who have experienced sexual or physical abuse a coordinated community approach to investigation, prosecution and treatment that promotes their safety, healing, and well-being." Ami and John were very helpful and friendly. I actually chose this hotel from the local mix based on interpersonal vibes over the phone. The staff continued to be wonderful during my stay while in town on business. I was given a quiet spot on the second story, unfortunately there are no elevators in this facility so plan accordingly. That said, I had plenty of privacy once I'd hiked all of my belongings to my room. Right along the freeway, it is impossible to escape the sound of cars going by on the 5 unless you shut your windows. This is ultimately why I opted to move out and find a place a bit more removed from the freeway. Aside from this, the rooms were very clean and well maintained. It is not the cheapest deal in town, but comparable to nearby options. The internet worked great. read more

Great stay, my first time being in washington at the time when my boyfriend had to be out there in regards to work. It wasn't much to do due to the covid crisis but the views of what i did get of the state were amazing and so green. The only thing im not used to is it being cold and raining so much, besides my home state of California is a lot warmer since its down south. If you want old rotten food left from the guest before, this is your place. The fridge also didn't work so the food was rotted and made the room smell. Told the front desk on my way out to work and they said they'd take care of it. Come back that night and the bed was made, so I assume it was taken care of, but this delicious treat was still there! Normally I wouldn't go for any of the Choice Hotels, but there isn't too much to choose from in the area so I'm basing my judgement off of what is available. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. No pets allowed and I'm not sure if they allow smoking in the building, but I didn't notice anything and had no problems with smoke smell. Place was sparce with no fridge or decor really, but it'll work and the beds were clean which is what matters. Fine choice when traveling on 5! read more

The room was paid for by my employer. At check in on Saturday evening, I was asked for my card for incidental. I asked how much is typically held. The lady staff that "the card will not be charged." I reluctantly gave my card. Next day, when looking at my bank statement, I find out I was charged $248. I immediately went to speak with the front desk. The manager was condescending, and unwilling to help me or acknowledge that $248 was indeed charged. I politely explained that this money was budgeted to be spent on my family and that I have never agreed to any charge at check in. The manager stated that there is nothing he can do until check out. He was unable to explain why such a large sum of money was charged- since I have never been charged more than $75. After leaving the front desk in disappointment, I get a call from the manager stating that he figured out what happened, and that he has "taken care of it." At checkout- three days later, the $248 was still not credited back. When I told another employee about that, he stated that the money should credit back in a day or two. It is not day 5, and $248 has not been refunded. The hotel staff are not able to explain why such a random charge was charged. So frustrated!! I will never stay at a Comfort Inn!! read more

Okay. Clean room, comfortable bed, hot albeit limited breakfast (apparently we only earn meat some days). Lights burned out in room. Double-pane window failed, so I look out and it looks foggy (it was not foggy outside). Window would not lock, so you don't need to be a second-story man to break in. To top it off; the room smelled. We come here every year when were visiting family for Christmas, the people that work here are great and it's always a wonderful experience. Tonight my daughter was very hungry after a long car ride here and the front desk guy got her a yogurt from their breakfast Supply happily. He also told us to leave some room for cookies as he would make them for us for when we came back. While this is listed as a non-smoking hotel, the room I rented for my daughters smelled like an old ashtray and caused their allergy problems to flare up during our stay. My room was not as bad, but I'm convinced the smokers are not obeying the rules and are not being caught at their game - even though most of them congregate near the front door and one has to hold one's breath on the trip inside. This is also one of those hotels that uses some kind of cleaning products that are probably supposed to mask odors but the strong smell as you walk down the hall is close to nauseating. So the next time I'm in this area, I will not be returning to this hotel even though the location is convenient. The other thing that was bothersome was the low-flush toilet. Someone has got to figure out how to make one of these contraptions that really works. Ours came close to overflowing on a couple of occasions, and we do not use an excess of paper as we have our own low-flush models at home. The breakfast was okay, but since I rarely eat breakfast while traveling it was not something that made a difference to me. The 24-hour pool might be nice, but it was miniscule and filled with children so, again, not something I found useful during my stay. Bottom line - if a hotel is listed as non-smoking, I expect it not to reek of cigarette smoke. read more

A very nice and clean property for the expense. Only complaint I had was the noise from the plumping. It woke me up at about 4:30am and didn't stop till nearly 7am. Me and my family stayed here for the weekend for a friend's bowling tournament. Checking in and out was a breeze and the man working was friendly and nice. During our stay, while getting ready for bed, we pulled out the bed in the couch and immediately noticed the sheets had not been changed. The sheets were wrinkled, there were food crumbs and a couple of small DEAD BUGS. One of us went to the lobby and reported this and the woman working that night felt so upset and shocked and guilty and constantly apologizing to us and gave us new sheets. She even said she will tell her manager and asked us to come down in the morning to tell the manger ourselves. We did just that. While we told the manager, her name is Rhonda by the way, she asked us where the old sheet was. We explained that we shook it out and left it in the room. She said "well you should've brought the sheet down with the crumbs and bugs when you got new ones." We explained that we shook it out cause that filth was in our room long enough and there isn't a reason we would keep it in there. "Well, you should've brought it down if it was so dirty" Basically, she didn't believe us. We then asked to report it to her manager and she insisted that she would do it herself. After talking a few minutes more, she hesitantly handed over a card with his name and number. After all this, we most likely will never go there again even though we received a 20% off price for a room. I'll go if there's another reason for me to and if Rhonda isn't there. The room was nice but coffee bar still had sugar on it, and the jets did not work in our tub which was the reason why I booked a king suite was for the tub, lady at the front desk dud what she could and was very nice but nobody gave her a call back about the problem so we had to deal with it, very very unprofessional for a hotel. The next morning I was not happy with the guy at the front desk I found him very rude for interrupting me mind sentence for him to tell me " I have taken care of the problem and have read the notes from last night" then after I received my 200 dollar deposit back I tried to ask again how they were accommodating me for the problem and again rudly said" Like I said I have taken care of it that is why I said that when you first came down".. very very rude!!! And should not work in hospitality. How they accommodated me? 11 dollar refund I to my account 2 days later!!!..had to call back just to have a bid war of what I should get refunded..which was another 55 dollars I'm still waiting on,so in total i get 65 dollars back from 165..never had a worst experience in a hotel read more

When I tried to get my money back and seek their help, he was rude again and incompetent claiming he couldn't help me... turns out he could. The bank had to call him to get his help. We stayed here on May 21st and it was wonderful. The hotel is smaller than most and doesn't have an elevator(which really didn't bother us).The front desk staff were super friendly and made us feel welcomed. It is right off the freeway, but surprisingly we didn't hear any traffic thru the night. The beds were nice and comfy. The rooms were clean and tidy. The pool only goes to 4feet, which worked great for the kids! In the morning we had an amazing continetal breakfast. It had waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage links, potato wedges, yogurt, hard- boiled eggs, fruit, oatmeal, 3 different kinds of cereal,muffins, toast, bagels, coffee, tea, and apple and orange juice. We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting relatives. Everything was clean and comfortable, staff polite and helpful. There are no laundry facilities. The breakfast was good and included scrambled and boiled eggs, the yummiest sausage links I've ever tasted, waffles and all the usual continental breakfast fare. Movie theater next door.
