Would give zero stars if I could. Stayed here for a lax tournament with my daughter. Originally booked a 2 night stay, but cancelled the one night due to game changes - keeping the 1 night reservation. After a 6 hour drive from PA and the first round of games, we arrived to check in only to be told by the dismissive desk clerk that our entire reservation was cancelled! AND that there were no rooms left! After a few minutes he magically "found" a room that he charged full price for. Taking no responsibility for his company cancelling the entire reservation. He acted as if he was doing me a favor. He told me I wasn't the only one - as if that makes it better somehow. The room was unbearably humid, as the A/C was barely running. The cable tv was broken and when I called about it, the same clerk said it was due to tornado damage. Ok pal. the bathroom was dirty, plumbing patched haphazardly. One out of the two elevators were down and the remaining one working had a door that closed early. It knocked a lady down on her way out. This hotel is deteriorating and not being kept up with. From my first impressions, the reviews I have read are incorrect. My room is clean and functional. While it is small, that is fine for the great price, free parking, pool, and close proximity to things in the area. I think this is a great deal for what I paid. As I pulled up this hotel on Yelp to review and read the other two reviews I thought to myself, "If I read these reviews before staying at this hotel, I might have not stayed." But I didn't, and I'm glad I stayed. For several reasons: 1) Price. Price mitigates a lot of stuff - basically I can look past a lot of stuff for the right price. The nice thing is that here, I didn't have to. 2) Accommodations. I expected less for the price I paid (a lot less than $100). I was pleasantly surprised. A clean room, a flat screen TV, and a bed that felt like it was from this century instead of the last one. The bathroom was clean, though the show fixture could use adjustment (or replacing - the laser beam water stream was very hard to switch out in my room. From some other reviews I've read on other sites, this place has been recently renovated, and that helps. 3) Location. RIGHT OFF THE BELTWAY (Baltimoreans - you know what I'm talking about). I mean you come off the exit and it's smacking you in the face. If you blink as you come off, you might miss it (at least if you're coming off of the eastbound direction). Also, Loch Raven Blvd is one of those streets that goes ALL THE WAY INTO BALTIMORE - it's a straight shot almost into downtown Baltimore - if you're driving. Also, its down the street from Towson Town Center (read: Cheesecake Factory, Fridays, Towson Mall, Bahama Breeze, Walmart, Target, Chipotle, Chuck E-Cheese, and a whole host of other shopping nirvana). 4) Free Parking. See #3 5) For the combination of #2, 3, and 4, with #1. So there you have it. Final thoughts: remember where you are (Mid-Atlantic states close to I-95 corridor) and the convenience of being just a few minutes away from downtown Baltimore and Towson), and think of the value (how much you get for how much you have to pay). Don't expect 5 star service, but you will get a decent place at a decent price - at least I did. And, yes, I will be back when I return to the Baltimore area. read more

I stayed here last August while on work. It was only for a night. This hotel was on the list of hotels we werent suppose to stay at because co workers had previous bad expereinces. They arrived at this hotel right after it had been robbed and the forensic team was there dusting for prints. Talk about a warm welcome. Our travel planner accidently booked us here again. At first my co worker and I drove around town for about 2 hours trying to find another place that wasnt creepy or 200 bucks a night. All the cheaper hotels were book due to a horse race being in town. I got sick of driving around so we just decided to stay there. The front desk clerk was very very slow. He could not find our reservations and it took 15 mins to check in. The place was very outdated and smelly. The room was a normal, cheap hotel room. Nothing to write home about. I don't know about the other reviews but im really happy about this hotel stay. We had a really bad ice storm and our electric was out for the whole day. We didn't want to take a chance with it not coming on because of our 2 year old. I didn't want him to freeze at night. I had this hotel in mind because it was the only decent price and comfortable hotel that I would want to stay in. I've had good luck with the one in oc Maryland in the past. Being a chain hotel I know that they have expectations for cleaning and how things are kept. We got a one bed room for 70 dollars for the night. In my book that is great. because the other hotels around here are 40 dollars and there what I call hoe tells. were people bring their escort to have a fling. I know they don't clean the sheets that well, and I would hate to bring my child to a place to hear someone enjoying their flavor of the night next door. Oh geez, where do I begin? The Comfort Inn in Towson, MD is a mess! Save your money and find a different hotel to stay in! I reserved a room with two double beds on Priceline. I checked in at the front desk and was given a card key that had to be put in and out of the door repeatedly to finally get it open. We walked in and found there was only one king size bed for four of us. The front desk receptionist who may also be the manager of this nightmare said we'd have to pay extra to upgrade to the room we paid for with two double beds! She is very difficult to deal with. Not friendly at all and I feel sorry for her staff. After telling her I was going to negatively review this hotel on Yelp, she found a room with two double beds. My husband found out the hard way in the shower that there's no hot water and there won't be for four months as they renovate. The pool isn't open even though they could open it because hardly anyone is here and they could put restrictions on use. The room TVs are flat screens with low resolution. The lights in the hallways are flickering and there was no light in the bathroom. The coffee station is fine but there's no hot cocoa for kids which is ridiculous. Basically they aren't going out of their way to do anything for their patrons. Save yourself from this nightmare hotel. It's not worth it even though the price is low. Old, buggy, smelly and gross. I can usually count on Choice hotels to have some standard of agreeable level but this one does not rate. We were stuck due to stay-to-play tournament rules (required to stay in a tournament selected hotel for my sons lacrosse.). At check in, the front desk clerk was wearing her purse which was a red flag about the area. The main lobby reeks of stale smoke despite being a smoke free facility (which is posted everywhere and they require you to sign and initial multiple times on your check in form). Got to our room and the key wouldn't work. After several tries, it was because the door needed to be pulled toward you to fully engage the locking mechanism. The room thankfully lost the smoke scent but is old. They have updated furniture, carpet, vanity and tub surround. They have no hand towels at this hotel - bath towel and washcloth only. I won't go into details of what was on one of the washcloths but there were remnants of a former user. . The walls and doors have been sloppily repainted and show their age. Right before I fell asleep, I saw a roach crawling down the wall. I captured it in a coffee cup but struggled to sleep the rest of the night. Found a half eaten shrimp on the floor outside my door in the morning. Breakfast was minimal and missing simple things like butter. It was also so dirty by 30 mins after opening that I got a pre packaged yogurt and stood outside in the rain with it. There was nowhere to sit and it was so stuffy I couldn't stand to be in the breakfast room anyway. Garbage is overflowing and debris and weeds in the parking lot. I am sorely disappointed. read more

This had to be the worst experience of my life. They don't ask for ID they just ask for your phone number RED FLAG . This is a non smoking hotel and they sent me to the 5th floor along with another couple I did not know. While walking to the room the hallway was filled with cigarette smoke. REDFLAG The room was worse, it smelled like they tried to cover the smell of smoke with perfume. So I went to change my room. The couple that was at the front desk when I arrived was on their way down with me to complain as well. I was told that they will fix the issue in the room and they sent me to a room on the first floor. The first floor smelled like mildew. The room was very out dated. The walls were peeling and the bathroom had poop still in the toilet. This was unbelievable. The carpet was dirty and I was scared to sleep on the bed. This hotel is disappointing to say the least. I wish I was warned but the reviews on www.choicehotels.com were promising. Now they won't even let me write a review on the website so I'm starting to think the reviews on www.choicehotels.com are all fake. There was no hot water in the shower and the heater was extremely loud. The heater would not have been a problem but it kept cycling on and off which made it hard to get use to the sound. Place was horrible! The first room they assigned us to room 520 smelled like a pack of old cigarettes. The ceiling was chipped away I'm certain spots. The rug look like it was ready to come up. The paint on the walls were coming off. Pulled the sheets from the mattress, and I did that after the fact. Mattress had spots the color of brass. Just filthy. So I went down to the front desk and informed them that the room smelled like cigarettes, she ask me why didn't I tell her before using the room. I responded with a confused look on my face not knowing that it was my responsibility to make her aware of the rooms condition. Mind you, there's signs everywhere staying that "this is a smoke free facility". She gave us another room which was similar to the first one. It smelled and the air conditioner did not work keeping the room stuffy and warm. Look, did I leave? No. Why? We were barley there because of our activities during the day. Also, this was the place other family members were at and we did not want to leave them. Bottom line is, it's cheap but filthy. Go at your own risk. read more

If it were possible, I would have given this place a zero or negative star rating. Unfortunately, I have to keep it to at least a single star. So, where to start? Service in the front seemed alright, but then we entered the elevator. Grimy buttons, originally white but now *orange*. If the CDC knew, all of Towson would have been quarantined, effective yesterday. Upon entering the rooms, we found out that the main light switch takes over fifteen seconds to just turn on the room lights. The furniture is crummy, more or less boards of wood with hinges. The curtains didnt close entirely, and the toilet paper was clearly just napkins shoved into the opening. The bed, was absolutely disgusting. Upon lifting the covers, the first thing my eyes laid sight on was a pile of black hair sitting there as plain as day, and the wrinkled sheet showing no signs of the crisp folds that I've seen in better hotels. Heck, even the inn we went to in Idaho was better. Idaho, where (no offense to any of you from there) the only thing they're famous for are potato farms. The rooms are clearly halves of an original room that were split to double the capacity of the hotel, and the door in-between the two rooms (why the hell are there even linking rooms in every pair?) was left unlocked when we entered. For all I goddamn know, the people in the room next to us could have slept in here and gotten a 2 for 1 deal! By the way, the 'free' wifi turns out to require a sign in and info. Let's not even talk like that. All in all, I'm not saying that the hotel is crap...but if your next best option is to sleep in your car, you'd wake up feeling more refreshed than a night in this dump of a hovel. read more

This hotel is bad... just really bad. The furniture in our room was broken, the bathroom was gross, the sheets had hair on them. The ceiling was leaking in the lobby, the pool was "out of order", the breakfast wasn't edible. There was an armed security guard at night, which would make some feel safe- but I've never seen this at a hotel before. The staff didn't speak much English and there seemed to be a lot of issues with people checking in; our wait to check in was well over 30 minutes. The elevator was old and rickety, and our room definitely did not match any of the pictures posted online. I would never stay here, not even in a pinch. I'd rather sleep in my car! Booked the hotel through Booking.com seriously the moment we clicked confirm we realized we needed to change the dates. Called booking.com and was advised that we had to call the hotel directly. Called the hotel over the course of 2 weeks and spoke to Pam. Pam is extremely rude and is in desperate need of customer service training. She hung up on my husband multiple times, admitted to ignoring some of his phone calls because "she was too busy" and was just extremely arrogant and condescending. She advised her she had no authority to make any adjustments and that we had to speak to the manager who was only on site M-F 3-11, but everytime we called during these hours we just got Pam and her attitude. Needless to say they never changed our reservation and just stole $90 from us. We travel to the area often to visit family but we will never ever ever book here again. There are far nicer hotels in the area that are well worth the extra $30 a night. read more

However, a $65 plus tax rate for a one night stay is not too bad. I wouldn't expect a stay at the Queen's Palace for that price, you get what you pay for. My brother booked this for me as I came out to Baltimore for my cousin's funeral. I am not going to lie to you - anyone who is over the age of 30 or makes for than $50K a year should never, ever stay here....but you get what you pay for...Two nights at $75 a night, five miles from my aunts house and the church for the funeral...I'll take it. Had I come on a pleasure trip - there is no way in hell I would stay here. The staff were nice and friendly and very accommodating...the guests leave something to be desired. One guy stole my bagel in the breakfast room...this is no joke! I was standing there, put my bagel in the toaster, turned to watch the Today Show's coverage of Pat Summit's death and this old dude grabs my bagel...before they even pop up. I say, dude, that's my bagel and he says, I am sorry...there were no other bagels in the toaster, so it wasn't like he grabbed it on accident. Anyway, after his germs were on it, I said no way...you can have it. Bed was not very comfortable, I ended up buying Icy Hot Bandages to keep on my back throughout my stay and have already booked a chiropractic appointment for tomorrow morning. The gym is awful - it's like a closet that they turned into a gym by purchasing three machines off of the home shopping network and called it a day - I went for a 4-mile run instead to burn off my calories from the crab cakes and booze and get my flight out of my system. So why not 1-star for this awful hotel???? The biggest perk - there is a Total Wine Next Door! That was a life saver. Kept my room filled with Tito's Vodka, even purchased a cheese/meat/crackers platter on ice that kept me snacking through out my 65-hour stay...They also have Free WIFI, which every hotel - nay - every BUSINESS should have now. read more

My friends were on tour and stayed here while in town... not only were they robbed ( one laptop stolen from his room amongst other things and an iPhone from lobby while checking out) while they were playing their show, management refused to accept any sort of responsibility for it... and while they were checking out others were complaining about bedbugs big enough to see plainly on the sheets... what kind of cracked out den of thieves is running this place?? something needs to be done to put this place out of business!!! read more

Arrived late Friday night, get our room which upon walking in smell an air freshener odor attempting to mask the marijuana smell in the room. Contact desk and are told sorry, come back and we will give you another. Get a different room, hotel worker walking down hall before us with glade room spray and sprays into room we are about to enter. At this point after traveling 5 hours, we just want to sleep so figure we'd deal with it for the night. After getting into bed, I look to window to close curtains and think I see holes in curtain but walk up to find it's stink bugs. There were about 6 in the curtains then 1 on pillow. That was it!!! The carpeting in the hallways is loud, colorful, it emits an atmosphere of "new" borderline hip.The staff is nice. The room was very small, that was one of the first things I noticed. The bed is large and the room is nicely kept except for the bathroom. The toilet is in desperate need of cleaning, you can see the dried up fecal matter under the lid. There are hard water stains everywhere and the molding in the tub needs work. The light fixtures are dingy but the shower head appears very new and the marble is a nice touch. I would stay here again if they took a little extra care with cleaning and updated the rooms. read more

This hotel needs an overall revamp. The room was old and tired. To much furniture in the room. Bathroom was too small and bathtub was not clean. Toilet had a permanent residue at the bottom and wasn't sure it was going to flush each time I used it. The room had a very strange smell...could never place it....but it didn't smell clean. The internet was a joke...basically unusable....log in, then a few seconds later it was disconnected.
