Now that they've completed the job at my house, allow me to provide yet another glowing review. Chris and I connected not long after my request for a quote and he came by my house in the next day or so. After spending a little time in the attic, he came down to give a thorough breakdown of what was in the attic and a couple of different paths I could take (e.g. removing all the existing insulation before blowing in the new product; leaving the existing insulation and simply blowing the new stuff over the top of it). He answered every question I asked and had a formal estimate (which included detailed photos of what he saw up in the attic) to me the next day. Chris promised that the team coming to do the install would be top-of-the-line -- and he was right. Dave led the crew, who were very respectful of my house and used floor coverings and booties throughout the installation. They removed all the old insulation and got the new stuff in place in about 3 hours. Dave had me inspect the work before departing and was also happy to answer a couple of follow-up questions I had. I wouldn't hesitate in calling Chris if you're in need of assessing your insulation situation or are ready for a replacement. I had my attic insulation redone. I had 4 different companies come by to give me quotes and give me…read moretheir recommendation. I also did a lot of my own research. I decided I really wanted to free up my attic floor space and make use of it. So I decided to go with Open Cell Spray Foam with Potomac Insulation and Dry Wall. Some companies might try to sell you 8 to 12 inches of foam. Of course it all cost more as well. But after 6 inches it does not really make that much more of a difference. We are in zone 4 and are winters do seem to be getting milder and instead of trying to get me to have more insulation sprayed in at a higher cost they were honest and told me 5 inches would be plenty. It will give me the R-Value I need, and the seal and barrier I desire. And best of all they beat everyone's price. They were even cheaper then having blown in insulation. They did an amazing job taking all my old insulation out and spraying in the new insulation evenly and throughout my attic space. I do not think you will find a better deal than Potomac Insulation & Drywall.
