Fabulous onion rings and 3" quality cheese burger!
    Pamela H.

AMAZING BURGERS, biggest deep fried (but not greasy) onion rings. Make it a point to visit the Comfort Kitchen. There is a small area next to the windows if u want to eat inside as well as a table. We chose outside under the oak trees that provided shade as well as tables. Finally a fabulous place to eat knowing the food is first rate and the staff cares. We could only eat half (my daughter had a chicken burger) so the following day we had awesome leftovers!

My friend and I have been road tripping through Texas, and are on our way back to Houston when we stumbled upon this place. It's AMAZING!! Fresh, made-to-order food...so,so good. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat, but settled on the Kitchen Sink burger! It was so big--I could only eat half! Burger was very juicy! My friend got the Swiss and shroom burger with onion rings! She continued to stuff herself after being full because hers was so good! And the onion rings-the onion rings!! There were cooked to perfection! Batter was light, and they were seasoned with some sort of seasoning negating any need for a dipping sauce! If you're in the Fort Worth (west), Mineral Wells, Weatherford area and or traveling on I-20 west of Fort Worth, you need to stop here to eat! It's barely a mile off the interstate and worth it! Word of caution: seating inside is limited to counter seating at the window. They do however have several tables outside.

My family and I have been eating at the butcher shop for a little over a year, pretty much weekly. It's our go to spot. We take our friends and family here anytime we want to treat them to a tasty meal! I have tried most of the items on the menu and truly have never been disappointed. For the longest time, the burger was my go to choice and the patty melt was my husband's go to. Both delicious! But our absolute favorite meal here lately is the brisket sandwich, a Thursday special, and I hate to even share this because I don't want them to sell out of it before we make it there on Thursday nights. It is SO tasty. The brisket is nice and juicy, and the sourdough bun makes for the perfect combination. You can't go wrong with the side you choose - French fries delicious, onion rings delicious, chips - you guessed it, also delicious. Kids meals - the grilled cheese is good, the chicken tenders are top notch. My husband and I often steal a bite of our kids' chicken fingers and every single time we say, "man these are good". Other meals I have tried that are delicious- chicken salad sandwich, hot ham and cheese, beef stew (so good!!!). Appetizers - Texas toothpicks are a must! And if talking about how good their food is wasn't enough to make you plan your next meal here... the staff are so incredibly kind. We love them! My husband and I truly love this restaurant and love everything we've tried. Try it out, but don't eat all the brisket!!

I looked on Yelp, and it had great reviews, so we were definitely interested in going. Upon arrival, we got a great parking spot and headed into an uncrowded restaurant. We were met immediately and taken to a table against the far wall. Menus delivered quickly, and finding out we had never been to this location, our waitress gave us plenty of time to review the options. Asked about what she would recommend, she said it was all good. We ordered an appetizer called Wagon Wheel. It's a fried cheese wheel of cheddar, gouda, and parmesan. It's sprinkled with bacon, green onions, and has a dollop of jalapeno cream cheese in the middle. It sort of looks like a thin pizza. We all loved it! The restaurant is kind of a gourmet burger place and everyone besides me ordered that. I saw that they offered a country fried wagu steak, and I ordered that. It came with garlic cream potatoes, honey-bourbon baked beans, and a cornbread pancake. The food came out quickly and was just as everyone ordered. The others in the party enjoyed their food, and I really, really, really liked mine (I would order again). The only complaints were about the seasoning. It seemed like the chef forget it on all of our meals. The only other complaint had to do with the extreme heat in the guy's restroom. Will I return? I will if we are back in Stephenville visiting and anyone suggests going out to eat:)
