    What the menu shows...

Stopped by this afternoon after driving past almost daily. I ordered the Sundown Sliders off the Burger section of the menu. I was asked how many orders of sliders and said one. She clarified, "ok, so one slider?" I said, "no, one order of them; the menu says it's two sliders." She checked the menu I was holding and said it's only supposed to be one slider. (Even tho the menu says two and a side of fries.) So, ok, I go with it and agree to one slider. Well, when I got home and opened the bag I realized I did not get fries and the "all-beef slider" was a sausage patty and cheese. No onion, no pickle, no beef. So strange. We were literally looking at the same menu, but somehow this is what I got. Can't say it was a mix-up, either, as I was the only customer there. On the bright side, she mentioned they serve free beer and margaritas. So maybe that will get me back in there at some point. But I certainly do not recommend the Sundown Sliders.

We went here this morning for breakfast between basketball games. They are located about 8 minutes south of Weatherford Texas on Hwy 51. My wife had a build a breakfast taco and I had a sunrise slider. We both had a hash brown patty. My slider, while small was very good. Hot, fresh and tasty. My wife's taco was the same. Her only comment was the hot sauce was not very hot. While it is a food truck, they have a patio with tables and chairs. The guys working were friendly and the overall service was great. I recommend this place .

So much more than a food truck!! We had been wanting to try this place for a few weeks so we woke up early on a Saturday morning and decided to go for breakfast. We ordered a few breakfast burritos and the breakfast pretzel. It was amazing!! Best breakfast in town!! The owner is really nice and came out and chatted with us a bit before starting our order. Everything is made to order and you can practically order anything you want, the way you want it.....the owner definitely aims to please! Can't wait to go again for lunch or dinner!!

Don't think gps brought you to the wrong place- tucked away behind the frontage buildings is this great little spot. Great food and service. We will be back !

Outdoor eating area. It was too cold and windy today we went to to attempt eating outside.

Yes, if you want a great burger. This is one of the best burgers I've had in the DFW area my husband ordered the basic one which he said was excellent. He even ate all the bun which he normally doesn't do. I ordered the German one- forgot the name- and it was great too, but not sure the pretzels make a good bun, try to messy and hard to eat. The fries are excellent- crinkle cut and crispy on the outside tender on the inside. We ordered their margaritas which were just right as well. The only downside is the location and that they don't have any place to sit and eat - yet. That is coming. We'll be back even with the out-of-the-way location. The food is awesome.

Just moved to Weatherford and saw this place on door dash & I'm instantly obsessed! The breakfast on a bun is insanely good!!!! And the jalapeño poppers are amazing too because they actually cook the bacon where other places will have non crispy bacon, which sucks.

Shrimp po-boy and fries were delicious. Next time I'm in Weatherford I will be back.

The two entrees we ordered for our preteens and it was also a generous portion but they finished it! Two adults ordered the filet steaks. Mine cooked medium was a bit dry. The other cooked medium rare was much juicier. So lean towards medium rare. The shape of the filet was wonky. I'm used to a firm tall filet. I think I saw these are cut in house? Maybe that's why it was wonky. It tasted good tons of grill/smoke flavor which I could have done at home. I don't usually order steak here and I probably won't again. But the sides are great- the green beans have brisket and bacon? Not sure but they were yummy. The baked potato only came with sour cream and cheese. Maybe butter too but it must have melted on the line. No bacon or chives... I was happy to share this restaurant with my family but note to self- try somewhere else next time in town. Ambiance was chill and it's nice that they close at 8:30. Keeps the trouble out. Our server wasn't the best but it looked like other tables had good service.

I do the responsible thing and CALL AHEAD like a civilized human being. "Do y'all have prime rib?" I ask. "Yes," they say--with confidence. With conviction. With what I can only assume was zero verification. So I drive my hungry, hopeful self all the way there, already tasting that juicy, perfect bite in my mind... only to be told: "Oops, no they told you wrong, we dont have prime rib " Oops? That's not a minor inconvenience. That's betrayal. That's psychological damage. That's me sitting there questioning my life choices while staring at a menu I no longer trust. No apology worth mentioning, no effort to make it right--just vibes and disappointment. If you're going to crush someone's dinner dreams, at least have the decency to do it over the phone so I can cry in my car at home instead of your parking lot. 10/10 for building anticipation. 0/10 for delivering anything resembling prime rib. Would I come back? Only if I'm emotionally stronger.

My New York strip was done as I liked it. We had appetizers of onion spears and stuffed mushrooms. My benchmark for the onions has always been outback but the Longhorn spears were superb and the stuffed mushrooms could be a meal in itself. The chopped steak comes with brown gravy, mushrooms, and onions. I also ordered a Caesar salad and a glass of unsweetened tea. The wait staff were pleasant. My friend requested the onions on the side and asked that the onions be cooked a specific way. The server wrote everything down. Unfortunately, my Caesar salad arrived soggy, and my friend's order was incorrect. It seemed as though the kitchen did not carefully read the ticket. This has now happened twice in the past month(s). My friend mentioned the issue to the wait staff, and we were told it would be corrected. However, the order never came back at all with it properly fixed. We left a gratuity, though we reduced it this time due to the repeated mistakes. This experience upset my friend and business partner, and we did not have time to wait for further explanations. Because this has now happened twice, I lowered my review from five stars to three. Details matter, especially during business lunches or any time. I hope they address and correct these issues soon.

We don't think of it as often as we should because it is a bit of a drive outside Granbury, but this dinner reminded us that it is well worth the trip. We started by sharing the bacon and poblano jumbo lump crab cake. It was beautifully prepared, flavorful and an excellent beginning to the meal. I ordered the 6-ounce beef tenderloin prepared medium, with asparagus and half of a twice-loaded baked potato. The tenderloin was wonderful--extremely tender, remarkably flavorful and cooked exactly as requested. Wife ordered the Red Snapper A La Plancha. It was seared and served over wild rice and sautéed asparagus, then topped with roasted-corn salad and lemon beurre blanc. I don't typically consider myself a fan of red snapper, but after trying a bite of hers, I had to admit it was delicious. We finished with a bite or two each from the chocolate ganache plate, which was the perfect ending without being too much. What made the evening especially memorable was our server, Cynthia. To our surprise, we recognized her from La Crêperie in Granbury, where she previously cooked and presented special dinners. Cynthia is French, extremely knowledgeable about food and genuinely enjoyable to visit with. Her warmth, personality and attentive service elevated an already excellent meal. If you visit Rio Brazos, I strongly encourage you to ask for Cynthia. Great service can transform a good dinner into a memorable evening, and that is exactly what she did for us. Rio Brazos offers upscale food in a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere, with thoughtful presentation, quality ingredients and outstanding service. It may be a little outside town, but it is absolutely worth the drive. Rio Brazos Grill--and Cynthia--earned every one of these five stars.

The rumors are true Rio Brazos Grill is fantastic. Not "good for a small town," not "surprisingly…read moredecent" just flat-out good. The kind of place where it's immediately obvious someone in the kitchen actually knows what they're doing, which already puts it ahead of most restaurants pretending to. The meal starts strong with flash-fried calamari Fresno chilies, sweet chili sauce, balanced heat, and a clean execution. It comes as strips, which feels a little safe. Rings or whole baby squid would've shown more technical confidence, but fine the flavor still delivers, and at the end of the day, that's what people actually remember. The Calabria chili shrimp follows with the same sense of control: spicy, but not trying to prove a point. Paired with grilled baguette, it does exactly what it's supposed to do support the dish instead of getting in the way. And then there's the Chicken Fried Ribeye, which sounds like a bad decision until you eat it. Crispy on the outside, rich and tender underneath, covered in black pepper gravy with buttermilk mashed potatoes, a potato nest, and because apparently restraint is optional--two fried quail eggs. It's excessive, but not stupid. That's a very fine line, and they walk it well. Chef Clint Connaway clearly has classical training--nobody just stumbles into a proper beurre blanc. The menu pulls from Southwestern, Native American, Mexican and French influences, which should feel chaotic but somehow doesn't. It works because the execution is consistent, even when the ideas get a little ambitious. That said, the place isn't perfect. The quail eggs show up so often they start to feel less like a signature and more like a habit. And for all the technical skill, there's a noticeable lack of local identity. With Bosque Ranch right down the road, it's hard not to wonder why more local beef isn't front and center. A stronger focus on seasonal or locally sourced ingredients would push this from great to something more grounded--something that actually tastes like where you are. And then there's the obvious question: why no brunch? A kitchen like this could absolutely dominate a brunch service. Instead, it's just... not happening, which feels like wasted potential. Still, none of that changes the core truth. The food is thoughtful, the technique is real, and most importantly you leave feeling satisfied instead of questioning your life choices. That alone is worth something.
