They are remarkable communicators, and I love that they do not try to up sell you. They respect your boundaries and financial health, they never try to push or guilt trip you. Best of all, they do not tell you wildly outrageous ideas on what might be the cause of x, y, z. Every time we have met with Dr. Seigal whether it is in person or over the phone, we've always felt he was such a generous, gracious person. We never felt rushed. When I ask his staff a question and they don't know the answer, they are always honest and polite and will tell you they don't know and will proceed to place you on a brief hold so they can get the correct information. The staff has a good attitude and assume that you are a caring owner. When Dr. Siegal says he'll call you or do anything, he always holds his word and he even called us when he was out of town. The facility is extremely clean, the cleanest vet I've ever been to. There are so many reasons why you should consider Dr. Siegal and his team, these are just a few. Plenty of parking in their private shared lot and street parking. Very cute stores, restaurants, and fitness yoga studios nearby so if you are coming from further away and need to leave your pet for a few hours you can totally patronize some of the other local businesses. Overall 10/10 experience. I'm glad we took a chance on this vet. To be fair we had exhausted many of the other highly rated vets in the San Fernando valley area and none of them cut it. Are you paying a little more to see the doctor here and get the tests and other services? Yes, probably a little more. However, for me personally, it's completely justified because of the integrity and seamless experiences we've had. Lastly, every single time we have gone in for our appointment, we haven't had to wait longer than 5 minutes. Also they are always giving you a warm greeting which I literally cannot say about any of the other vets. Last little detail, but really there's no detail too small, I have not seen any of the staff doom scroll or look checked out. When they are on the clock, they appear to be working and they seem dedicated. Little things like that have a major impact on professionalism and trust. If I see anyone on the clock doom scrolling or just super engaged on their cell phone it is 100% a red flag and a sign that they don't care, aka my sign to leave a business and not return. I want to spend my hard earned money on places that are invested and care. Dr. Siegal and his staff seem happy and I believe a happy staff is a more efficient staff. It is a safe space, you can openly share your concerns, wants and needs- they are listening with open hearts and they genuinely care. Sadly I've been to probably more than eight different vets and none of them have even come close to Dr. Siegal. Because of those awful experiences, I was starting to lose hope. But I knew from our first phone call with Dr. Siegal's office, when I was literally picking their brain and asking 20+ questions and complaining about past experiences, I knew they were the one because they never made me feel rushed, I never felt judged, I never felt unappreciated and I felt they were truly listening and caring. Unlike our previous experience where we were able to book ahead of time and plan for our pup's passing, this was a circumstance where our baby needed immediate services -- his body was failing. Once I saw our senior 13-yr old pup was telling me it was okay, I called Dr. Gonzalez at 7pm. She was at our home by 10pm. Our pup had been sick for several years, and in that last week, our primary vet had already told us his health was declining, so we at least knew the end was near. And I had already mentally prepared to be strong and let him go when he needed to -- so I had Dr. Gonzalez's number on hand. We live in an apartment building, so we reserved a spot for her in our lot as close as possible to an exit. She came upstairs to our home, and she had brought all her equipment. I had already imagined how I wanted this experience to go for my once in a lifetime soul pup. I sat on his favorite place on the sofa, and I had him in my lap. Dr. Gonzalez gave me a pee pad to wrap around him within the blanket understanding there could be an accident in the process as his body released his spirit. I had a candle lit. I had soft music playing. We had low lighting on to honor what was about to happen. Dr. Gonzalez was also super accommodating to our 2nd puppy who was curious about her and wondering what was happening to his big brother. She didn't shoo him away -- she invited us to keep the puppy around so he can know his big brother was about to pass on. She gave us time to speak to Nuxx, love on him, and then let him go. Then, it finally happened. And Dr. Gonzalez stepped out of our apartment for awhile, giving our little family time to grieve, sob, and hold our baby close. Our puppy sniffed him too and said his goodbyes. Then she came back, and she asked us if we wanted to be the ones to carry him out or she was happy to do so. My husband carried him, myself and our puppy followed along -- felt like a procession down our apartment hallway. We got to Dr. Gonzalez's car, and we gently placed our baby's body in her car, and said our goodbyes again. Then...it was done. Throughout the experience, Dr. Gonzalez was so incredibly supportive, gentle, understanding, and patient. What else can you ask for when such a heartbreaking thing is occurring? When a spirit is literally fading in your arms? I am still not over losing him, but at least I know we gave him the most peaceful send-off we could: in his own home, in our arms, surrounded by so much love. If / when we need to go through again, I will continue to call on Dr. Gonzalez. RIP Nuxx.

In addition, he and his staff made our decision easier. The things that they did were very loving including allowing us time with Charlie and allowing him to have a Hersheys kiss before he passed. We spent some time after he passed and left after they had taken Charlie away. In the days that followed we received flowers and a sympathy card from their office. When we picked up Charlie's remains they were presented in a beautiful box along with a lovely paw print. Slaton veterinary made a very difficult time a thoughtful and caring time. That is not what this is about. I have three Golden Retrievers and have had many dogs over the years. I understand that dogs age, become ill, and develop serious medical problems. That is a painful but inevitable part of loving them. I do not blame a veterinarian because my dog is sick. My concern is the care Emma received when I brought her in because she was sick and in pain. I brought her in twice for an unexplained limp and expressed that I believed something was wrong. No X-rays were taken. Imaging performed elsewhere later showed severe destruction of the ulna near her elbow and significant risk of fracture. I also raised concerns about persistent skin inflammation, recurring ear problems, and irritation around her mouth. These issues improved rapidly after she received different treatment from another veterinarian. These are specific concerns about clinical decisions, not expressions of sadness about having an older dog. Saying that you understand how upsetting it is when a beloved companion has serious medical issues does not address them. I also find it difficult to reconcile the statement that the practice would "welcome the opportunity to discuss" my concerns directly with the fact that no one contacted me after my review was posted. Weeks passed, and this public response was the first outreach I received. If anything in my review is factually inaccurate, please identify it. I would also welcome an explanation of how the specific care decisions I described were consistent with the "thoughtful, evidence-based medicine" referenced in your response. Emma being sick is not the complaint. The complaint is what happened when I repeatedly brought a sick and painful dog to this practice for help. I brought my sweet Bear in after 12 beautiful years together, knowing that it was time to help him peacefully transition after his health had declined. From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly kind, gentle and nurturing. They understood the weight of what I was walking into and treated both Bear and me with so much tenderness. Dr. Wammock was absolutely incredible. From the moment she entered our private room, there was something so calming about her presence. She spoke softly, explained what was happening, and handled Bear with such gentleness and dignity. Every single thing she did felt intentional and compassionate. When she administered his sedative, she was incredibly tender with him, knowing how much discomfort and distress he had already experienced. She then gave us uninterrupted time to hold him, cuddle him, love on him and say our goodbyes before the final injection. When that moment came, she was just as careful. She even covered Bear so that our final memory of him would not be watching him receive a needle. That small gesture meant more to me than I can adequately put into words. Dr. Scott was also phenomenal and showed our family so much compassion throughout the experience. I will forever be grateful to both of them for the dignity, patience and love they showed Bear in his final moments. Of course, saying goodbye to him was heartbreaking. But somehow, in the middle of all that sadness, Honor Pet created an experience that was also incredibly peaceful and filled with love. I walked away devastated that my baby was gone, but also calm and reassured that I had made the right decision for him and chosen the right people to help me through it. We have a 14-year-old indoor cat who gets extremely stressed in carriers and at the vet, so we don't have a regular veterinarian. When we came home from a weekend trip, we discovered she had a ruptured anal gland abscess. It was painful for her and frightening for us. We brought her to VSEC on a Sunday afternoon in mid-July, and Dr. Jeffrey Ohm and his compassionate staff took wonderful care of her. They examined her, treated the wound, prescribed medication, and even trimmed her nails at our request. We were back in the car in about two hours. The total cost for the exam, treatment, prescriptions, and nail trim came to just under $500, which we felt was very reasonable for emergency care. Thank you, Dr. Ohm and the entire VSEC team, for the kindness, compassion, and excellent care you showed our girl. We truly appreciate everything you did.

When your pet needs medical attention, wasting an hour of their time is unacceptable. I understand that allergies can happen, but the way this was handled was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend this facility based on my experience.
