This was the best pizza I've had in a long time. We stopped here with no prior knowledge of the place, just hungry. We walked right up to the window to order. The pizza menu is pretty lengthy and I wasn't sure exactly what to order. I just wanted a regular pepperoni but had to request that specifically. It took probably half an hour to get the pizza and it was piping hot when it came out. I mean burn the mouth very hot right out of the oven. Be very careful, I actually burned my mouth and even my fingers from touching the cheese it was so hot. Once it cooled down a bit we enjoyed it very much. We also ordered drinks and a gelato for after pizza since it was "local". Their seating is all outside, it's pretty basic tables and chairs, they do have some fans and umbrellas. We will definitely be stopping back on our way out to our favorite winery. I'm glad we found this hidden gem.

I've tried most of their pizzas, but I always go back to their Marghareta pizza. Their fresh dough tastes great and their ingredients are of excellent quality. Their pizzas are not cheap but they are worth every morsel. Their outside patio is a good place to dine - even on a very sunny late fall evening. In the summer, you have to fight the flies a bit and it's very annoying but if you sit close to the fan, you might get lucky and not get invaded by these little flyers! On a warm August evening, we had to wait for about an hour to get our food because they had a lot of online orders. That was a big lesson learned that day. Ever since then, I call before going to eat there.

We came here on a Wednesday. It was recommended that we make reservations. You aren't reserving a table, but a pizza. You have to tell them what pizzas you want when you make the reservation. We made the reservation about a week out. There is a small amount of roadside parking all around the area. You check in and pay at a walk up window where you also order drinks. There is a large outdoor seating area with a lot of lawn games. Our pizzas were ready within minutes of us getting there. We got a pepperoni and a sausage pizza. Both were really good, but a little expensive

Comfort Pizza is a walk-up and order restaurant with tables available outside in a nice, casual patio. I didn't know you typically need to order your pizza dough in advance, as I was fortunate to be able to order without advance notice. Delicious wood fired pizza with a wide selection of canned craft beers and wine by the bottle. Seating is outside but they have nice fans with misters and table fans to keep the flies off of your food.

Stumbled upon this adorable pizza place by accident, and we are so happy we did. Delicious gourmet pizza on sourdough crust. My husband went simple with a pepperoni, I had the garlic and olive oil with prosciutto. AMAZING. Cutest little patio to eat on with plenty of shade, fans, misters, and fly fans.

Hit or miss with this place. Stumbled upon them one day by accident and grabbed a pizza to take home. Was surprisingly yummy. Wanted to take my wife for a pizza treat and made the 45 min trek to Comfort from San Antonio and with not a soul sitting at a table, the lady at the window essentially tells us to get lost since some alleged wedding party will be showing up and they can't make us a pizza. Drove 40 mins to a more amazing Pizza place Fralos. Feel bad leaving a scathing review, i met the kid who started the biz and wish him the best, but need to be open and honest that the staff seem like entitled little brats with zero people skills Lesson to others, visit at your own risk. Message to Ty and Dad, great pizzas don't outweigh horribly trained staff. Wasted time, fuel and experience. Hope my review helps. .

Got a meat lovers pizza! This pizza was so delicious despite most of the locals not liking the owner or his practice of making your reserve dough. Which is understandable, dough/flour is extremely cheap. However, was it worth it to reserve the dough? Absolutely yes! Did we have to reserve it days in advance? No! What is it worth the price? Definitely was overpriced, our meat lovers pizza was $23 and was basically a little bit bigger than a personal sized pizza. We did hear about a unicorn pizza that you do have to order a week in advance so that they could source all of the ingredients, comes with fillet mignon and some other stuff on it but that's $55 or more for the entire pizza. I wouldn't say that that would be worth it but to each their own.

A unique pizza experience that results in the best pizza in hill country Texas! We caught this place when looking for a great wood fired pizza in the Boerne area. The pizza was amazing and the overall experience, from the food itself to the atmosphere of their storefront (an old 1940's style gas station), is just all around great and one of a-kind! My only complaint, but it kind of lends to the experience, is that there is a limited quantity of dough and, because of demand, you really need to plan in advance and reserve a pizza a day or two before you decide to order it. read more

Came here with my kids looking for some woof fired pizza! We ordered 2 cheese pizzas and gelato! We loved that it was easy to order. The man at the window was super nice and helpful. We came at the perfect time where it was just us and no wait! It is definitely a rustic outside place but it would be good if you have kids, you aren't worried about them being too loud or messy! But wish there was an inside especially with the random rains we get here. Will be back to try something a little more adventurous! read more

Incredible experience tonight at Comfort Pizza! Played cornhole while waiting for our pizza as the sun set over the adorable backyard. Ate our absolutely delicious pizza with very fresh ingredients while sipping prickly pear juice aka pink lemonade. Had an amazing conversation with Ty who owns this place and truly felt so welcomed! Can't wait to eat my leftovers cold in the morning! Will be back! read more

We visited Comfort for a brief vacation and dined at Comfort Pizza twice. We had the Ogni Cosa and the Bubba. Both were delicious. Generously topped and well seasoned. And you can't beat their wood-fired oven for a wonderfully crispy crust. Their wine selections are very nice. We enjoyed the Bending Branch Rosé. Ty makes a visit to Comfort Pizza very relaxing and enjoyable. We will definitely be making the drive from Fredericksburg again soon. Thank you, Ty, for your hospitality! read more

The food is fantastic and the outdoor during nice weather is great to enjoy a drink while waiting for your food. The folks there are very friendly and happy to serve. I do recommend calling ahead to see if their dough is available as it sells out fast which is a testament to how good the pizzas are. read more

Neat little spot that doubles as a official Pokémon. Store. Outdoor seating only, that looks like it would be pretty cool at night time. Large selection of wines and beer. Went with the St Ignacio. It was pretty perfect. Nicely charred and crisp yet chewy crusty. Crunchy but soft enough to fold. Great flavor. Toppings well dispersed and a good amount. Scrotum tasted fresh. I walked 30 minutes to eat here and was told because I didn't order ahead it would be 1.5 hours for ONE PIZZA. Maybe put together an actual website letting people know that it's best to order ahead or maybe try to be a little more accommodating especially to a new customer read more

Let's cut to the chase. This pizza is SO GOOD. Order at the window, most pizzas you can split half and half if you're torn between pizzas. Ingredients were fresh, the dough was light with the right amount of "chew", and the options included some awesome flavor combinations. They also sell various canned/bottled beers, and blue bell ice cream(!!!!). They also have a mural on site to get some cute pictures of. Outdoor Seating and has umbrellas and misters to deal with the Texas heat. Come for the pizza and have fun exploring comfort while you're in town! Cartoon Saloon isn't far away and is free and quirky. But the pizza is a stand alone attraction if you're driving through or in a time crunch. read more

I've been to Comfort Pizza perhaps a half dozen times -- twice for take-out and 3 or 4 other times for dine-in (though you dine outside under umbrellas with misters cooling you) -- and never been anything but totally satisfied. Some may criticize the long wait for food. Or, if they fail to call ahead, that their choice of pizza is not available because the ingredients have sold out. I'd say to them, "Welcome to real food!" True, the price is a little more than your run-of-the-mill pizza. I think even places like Home Slice and others are probably cheaper. (Fact-check me on that.) But between the adventurous combinations, the delicious sodas, and the unique dining environment -- kid- and pet-friendly to boot -- this is a must-not-miss place for a pizza. We've been coming to Comfort Pizza for nearly 10 years. My wife and I always get two small Mediterranean salads and a Marguerita pizza to share. From the first time we came here, I was blown away. I honestly thought that it was the Best pizza that I had ever had (and I grew up in an Italian town in CT and considered myself somewhat of a pizza connoisseur!). Today we came and got our regular order,....and Were once again amazed. The salads are BETTER than ever (love the garlic!!), and the pizza too!! The fresh ingredients and attention to detail is remarkable! Love, love, LOVE this place. read more

Meet the Business Owner: T and Ty L.

Father and Son pizzeria. "T" (father) is the restaurant owner/designer. "Ty" (son) is the owner/pizzaiolo (pizza maker). Ty tosses the pies high in front of the right front window where kids like to stand on the limestone sill and watch him roll out the daily made fresh dough and toss it super thin like a frisbee. Two of us drove up from SA, 2 from Boerne, 2 from Fredericksburg. Ages 24 to 64. None of us have ever been treated so rudely at a restaurant in our lives. Maybe the owner was just having a bad day but from what we have heard now from others, his sullen insolent attitude is the norm. It was down right scary. Too bad. It is a cute place.
