We believe these guys would be quite ok at selecting, installing, and maintaining conventional HVAC systems. But anyone interested in mini splits and VRF technology should read our story before choosing to work with Morgan Pro. We trusted them to 1) assess our home for the most energy-efficient HVAC system it could accommodate and 2) install it correctly. Morgan Pro failed to do either. Their $3K Manual J assessment of our 1500 sq. ft home determined it needed a 5-ton HVAC system. It took them over 30 visits to fully install a VRF system in our house and to get it functional--two inverters outside (they accidentally blew up the first one) and 6 mini splits through our home in all the ceilings. During that time, they also caused unnecessary damage: cutting extra joists, drawing on antique trim, and they compensated us for that. The HVAC system passed city inspection, but it never worked 100%. As Morgan Pro kept trying to fix it, we had to agree to things they had promised to avoid--wall thermostats everywhere, humidity and noise levels that were too high, and on and on. When water started pouring from our new ceilings in the middle of a Houston summer, it was clear to everyone that the system was simply wrong for our house. But instead of taking responsibility for their enormous failure, Morgan Pro blamed the two things we had paid them many thousands to professionally assess: our house, and the system! Their next move was to conduct a test on our home, claiming it now needed 8 tons of HVAC (!), not 5, and that we pay them a further $14K to get it up to 8 tons. Knowing it was utterly laughable that our 1500 sq. ft house was an 8-ton home, our only next step was a legal dispute to get them to give us a correctly-sized and functional system for the money they had already taken for us, with consequent delays to a remedy. Shocked and exhausted, we decided that delay was worse than simply severing ties with an inept business we could never trust again. Morgan Pro ended up waiving thousands we still owed them so they could crawl away from their own meaningless install guarantee, and we were relieved to see them go. We then removed the entire system (see photos) and installed a conventional one (4 tons!) which has worked perfectly from the start, costs much less to run, is much quieter, and is a great fit for the structure of our fully renovated historical home. Our new HVAC technician who extracted system has installed the same units many times before. He pointed out the clear mistakes he saw in Morgan Pro's installation, and said the technology was also just not suited to our house. Morgan Pro's supplier and factory rep (who they depended on almost exclusively) were also at fault and we are making formal reports to their respective professional boards and the manufacturer as well. All of them failed us abysmally, but none more than Morgan Pro: they failed to do right by our home and us, when that was their *only* job for which we paid many thousands in good faith while supporting their efforts in our home for months with remarkable patience and kindness. Everlasting shame on them. We have written this review so that other Houston customers can be well informed. We would hate for the same experience to happen to anyone else because we had remained silent about their record with us. One star is for their fantastic office staff and their young tech Ricky, who always worked as hard as he could to do his best, though he was way out of his depth on these units. read more

This company was recommended by neighbors. I had a non functioning AC unit and I needed help right away. Morgan Air was prompt, polite and professional. It took some time to find the problem but by the time the serviceman left my house I was feeling nice and cool again. The price was reasonable and I was very pleased with this company. Our builder selected this company for our AC install and this company selected the manufacturer and type of system which was installed. Consequently, we ended up with one of the fanciest, efficient and most expensive systems. In the 20 months since the 2 units were installed, the same part has failed 4 times (twice on each unit). The initial failure occurred 5 months after installation- it took a few weeks during the Houston summer to find the cause which was a piece that we were told never fails. One month later the same thing happened on the other unit with the same piece. Morgan was responsive in getting it fixed but it always took a few days for someone to come by initially. The company is very active in promoting their annual service plan which may be part of the reason we weren't visited quickly because our visit was covered by their 1y warranty as we were not a customer paying for the service plan who would be given scheduling priority. At the time we declined the service plan feeling like they installed an expensive system that breaks- parts are covered under the manufacturer warranty but labor is not. Almost 14 months after the initial part replacement, both units went out again a month apart. An outside company has replaced the same part on each unit and believes that the part was incorrectly welded. So far this brand new system has cost an additional $4800. read more

Trey gave me a second opinion on a mechanical equipment package I was considering. Within 10 minutes, he found the failed compressor that started this whole process was still under warranty and advised that I go back to my installing contractor for resolution. While I'm VERY happy that his advice saved me well over $35,000, I'm sorry that I'll have to wait to have him bid my next project. Honesty and dependability are hard to find these days, so I'm very glad that Trey and I could "talk shop," solve the immediate problem, and come up with a game plan for when I DO need to replace my mechanical systems. read more

You saved our lives... so yes... it's time utilize this Yelp medium to give you your well deserved kudos. We just want to say THANK YOU to Morgan Air for continued outstanding service. The excellent fair service never goes away. Each and every time there is that unwanted a/c or heater issue it's "time to call Trey" whether he comes himself (he's gotten rather busy) or sends his technician the service and attention to the matter is the same high quality. So many of our neighbors and friends have used them now and all are so very satisfied. That is appreciated as well I almost have a rule not to recommend anymore for things but I will always recommend Morgan Air Services. I am sure there are many ac services around that are great this is not to take away from those that treat their customers problems as they would their own but this is just a go beyond company. Specifically today on a weekend we called them to come because at 4 am our fire alarms were going off. Trey has always told me NEVER disregard your alarm by taking out the batteries disconnecting or whatever... EVEN if there is no fire. SO since he told me this years ago I called him bright and early. Sure enough his technician was at our door an hour later. We recently had our roof replaced and the vent in the attic of the upstairs for the hot water heater was slightly misaligned. This caused Carbon Monoxide to gather and make its way downstairs. My husband awoke with a headache (he never gets headaches) and yesterday I almost made an ER visit because I could not function because of a headache and at times I was nauseated. As a nurse I was worried about myself because I felt like something was really wrong that I couldn't pinpoint based on my symptoms. Today I found out it was Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Please do not take chances we had NO IDEA except for our alarms and at first sight not even the repair man could identify the cause but they were relentless and would NOT stop their search until they found the cause even after it was determined it wasn't our furnace.
