    Hot tub
    Lisa A.

I accidentally booked this location, meaning to book the Stevensville location. Dirty rooms, pool/hot tub area under construction and unusable (though they said it could be used, the pool filter didn't appear to be running and it was very dirty)....I wouldn't have set toe in that water. We had to switch rooms as the 1st one was clearly not cleaned. The second room was not much better. While they offered a refund, to rebook at the other location was hundreds more. No matching the price I paid. Don't stay here. Dirty rooms, pool unusable, cobwebs in the corners, comforters stained and clearly not washed. Just NO.

IF I COULD PUT A ZERO STAR RATING I WOULD. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!! After saying we thought this hotel was nice a COCKROACH was crawling on the wall. We packed all of our belongings and went down to the front desk. Unfortunately since its father's day weekend all other hotels were booked or $300. There were 4 of us and they moved us to a handicapped room with one bed. Trying to make the best out of our weekend we took it. When we got into the room we checked EVERYTHING. The next morning we went down to get breakfast and what do you know there was a COCKROACH in the fridge where ALLLLL THE FOOD WAS. We left so fast. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL. Also the rooms were VERY nasty. Dirty beds, sinks , bathrooms etc. The curtains also don't close all the way and there was mold on the curtains. We needed extra blankets because well we sized down rooms and the front desk guy gave us a tore up comforter with stains all over it. If you don't mind the nasty go ahead and book. This place is disappointing and disgusting.

Good hotel choice for the area. Really comfy bed. King suite was large and had microwave, fridge, and sink area. Separate living room with additional TV and sofa bed. Hotel showing age, but is in good condition for a high traffic area. Didn't use the breakfast option.

All of our belongings that were taken from our room while still checked in.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Checked in for two nights to celebrate a birthday. Day 2/3 returned to our room to find all of our belongings missing. Went to the front desk, apparently there was a "problem with the system." There was no manager on duty to be notified so staff took it upon themselves to remove all of our belongings from the room, and was left at the front desk. When we confronted the front desk, it showed we were still checked in but somehow moved to a different room in the system. Not nice enough of a hotel to make up for this mistake.

I didn't eat at the brunch but I was babysitting and we went to see Santa and grabbed some complimentary hot chocolate. The Santa looked great and the hot chocolate was delicious! The hotel was decorated beautiful for the holiday and the staff was friendly, as always. I've enjoyed lunch and dinner at their restaurant, Plank's Tavern, and I've always enjoyed their outdoor tiki bar with a water view! They have nice, updated rooms, a cafe that opens early for espresso drinks, and their hot tub is awesome because it goes outside! It's fun to relax in the hot tub during a Michigan snowfall. My only complaints are that the elevator is incredibly slow and they only accept dogs in the condos, which are much more expensive to stay in for a night compared to the hotel rooms.

LIPSTICK ON A PIG…read more So, for those that have stayed at Silver Beach Hotel in the past, this review shouldn't come as a shock. However, its been several years that we had stayed there, through multiple renovations and we figured, "hey, what the heck, lets give it a try again, because it couldn't be worse then what it was in the past". Well - sure enough we were wrong. We booked the "Presidential Suite" since we were celebrating a milestone anniversary, and since it was still considered "off season", the prices weren't too terribly bad. When we got in the room, we saw hair in the corners of the shower, the shower glass door wasn't wiped down from the last time it was used, there was hair on the bathroom floor behind the toilet and in the sink. Running our hand over a side table in the room, you could see the streak of us displaying multiple layers of dust that was on the table. The floors weren't swept or mopped (at least this room had updated laminate flooring instead of that terrible carpet), and overall the room was just REALLY dirty. The pool is still "under renovation" (which is probably for the best with - don't advise anyone to go in that water if that would be of the same condition as the rest of the hotel), and their hotel bar is still closed. When we alerted the front desk about this condition of the room, they didn't seem to shocked due to their lackluster attempt at an apology. No offer for rectification or anything like that. I could go on and on, but im sure the point has come across. The kicker was, when we were ready to relax, we turned on the TV, to which we found there was no TV service or internet available. I called the front desk, and the guy said "we'll i'll need to come in the room to see what is going on". To which i turned down since we were trying to relax and go to sleep. End of the day, this hotel continues to be a major miss with location, service and amenities. It would be an absolute gold mine if someone would actually just take care of it, and put decent effort into it. If you just need a bed in a beach town for a night to relax, then yes, this is your place. HOWEVER if you actually want a "nice" hotel (which i'll use the term loosely since SBH doesn't even come close to "nice"), continue to look at Boulevard Inn or Harbor Shores Inn.

I showed the front desk staff my receipt from the restaurant to explain why I was there, but the lady at the front desk was incredibly rude. She interrupted me while I was talking with my kids on my phone and asked me to leave. Later, after the restaurant closed, I approached her again, showed her my receipt, and politely asked if I could finish my text in the lobby. She rudely asked me to leave again, this time in front of other guests. Her behaviour was unprofessional and made me feel unwelcome, even though I had spent money at the restaurant. I also noticed that her attitude seemed to make other guests uncomfortable, despite my efforts to be friendly. While the restaurant itself was decent, the hotel staff's treatment of me was unacceptable. I would not recommend using the hotel lobby unless you are a guest, as the staff clearly does not accommodate restaurant patrons.

In addition, we wanted to use our credit card points so our selections for this weekend were slim but overall this checked all the boxes. What went well was that our room was quiet. There was 24/7 coffee/tea available in the lobby. the space to walk the dog was really nice as there were two locations on either side of the buildings. Additionally enjoyed the set up of the room and the amenities such as the body wash and the hand soap. There is some room for improvement at this location in regards to breakfast items. It was very continental and really didn't do the trick however we were able to enjoy bagels, toast, hard boiled egg and they did have a few varieties of fresh fruit. In particular, I wasn't really a fan of the pancake machine and the traditional waffle iron would be much more hardy and suitable. Overall, no major problems with our room however, the TV system is unique and sometimes it works, and sometimes it didn't often to look at Pluto versus even accessing the live channels as their entertainment system is kind of finicky. Additionally, the lotion dispenser in our room did not work, and I really wanted to try the lotion as I thought the fragrance for the body wash and hand Soap was very pleasant. Lastly, the workers at this hotel are just not very friendly. They're not rude. They're just not hospitable and that was evident from the front desk to the breakfast attendance to the maintenance person. They just were not very friendly or engaging at overall. If in this area again, I would stay at this hotel if the price point was right. overall it was a good value and close to St. Joseph while having the charm of Stevensville.

So I walked away.... Except.... He popped out 15 seconds later and said I'm getting your keys now. This was a confusing checkin. He also said they don't use mobile keys at this location (per the front desk clerk). Then he asked me if I wanted 2nd or 3rd floor. Lol. It doesn't really matter to me and I mentioned I'm traveling with my children. He gives us the very last room on the 3rd floor (the furthest and most difficult room to get to in the entire hotel...pray there's not a fire... like seriously)- he's got jokes - and - told us to park on the side of the building, but neglected to mention the elevators are where the lobby is.
