I have gone to every local comic shop in Boston but I have never felt more at home chatting about my insane love for all things Batman than here. The staff is beyond friendly and they are super knowledgeable. Beginners to comics should definitely stop in to browse and pick up recommendations. A mixed bag. They have some good collectibles for those into that stuff (see the Star Wars toys display in the windows) but the comic selection leaves something to be desired. I'm from Texas where you would assume most people our friendly, but this shop is by far the friendliest I have ever been to, coast to coast. I had been looking for back titles for quite some time and the owner immediately came up to me and asked if I needed help with anything at all. I told him what I needed and he was able to help and locate what I needed very quickly. I was charged correctly for back issues (not full price) and the cashier was awesome and recommended some awesome tabletop board games. They offered more than 1 selection on boards and bags, and they had the cutest British bull dog running around the shop. His name is Tyler, and is the MVP of the world. Next time in Boston, will go outta my way and Drive to Sommerville for my books! read more

This place has a room in the back with thousands of retro toys brand new in the box ranging from old Star wars figures to Gi Joe's. They sell comics, imported Japanese toys, Dr Who memorabilia, rule books for RPG's, and on and on. If you are a nerd like me and you are in the area, check this place out. read more

I come here primarily for their board game stock. They don't have the most extensive selection, but they have lots of great games and the staff is super friendly and helpful. They've always offered to order a game if I come in and ask for something they don't have. They also just expanded their storefront, so their already big store is now even bigger!! read more

I am also not a huge comic fan, but when I followed my boyfriend into this shop I was overwhelmed by the quirky, fun environment and the variety of things they offer- tshirts, action figures, models, pins, and of course, comics. I was a visual art major in college and am stunned by some of the painterly, gorgeous, silken printed pages of the books in the indie section. Whoa! Pop culture heaven! Large comic selection; insane amount of action figures and toys ! I love silver and golden age comics, so, I appreciate that they built a nice gallery to display their old comics. The customers and staff always seem friendly. As for the action figs and toys.... They have things from my childhood that I thought I would never ever see again. Always very friendly when I poke my head in. I like the spread they put on the table outside the door. And they always have a stack of free comics for kids and kids at heart. I frequent multiple comic stores in Massachusetts and this is one of my favorites! The staff at Comicazi is knowledgeable, friendly and eager to help. They take great care at frequently updating the displays of toys and comics to stay current with the trends. They also have a very good selection of back issue comics ranging from $2 bins up to the rare and extremely collectible issues that fetch hundreds of dollars. It should also be mentioned that they try to coordinate many events to bring the community together and keep things interesting. But it should be noted that there is no dedicated parking lot and Comicazi can be a little on the expensive side of $$$ but it's worth the price for the experience in my opinion and how else are they going to pay the rent in Somerville? read more

Great shop with all the new titles, a nice selection of collected trades/graphic novels, a decent indie section, probably too many action figures (though that's just my taste), and a great great staff. I'm not your average comic book reader, which is to say I'm never looking for things AS they come out... usually years later. I'm terrible like that. Mike is always really good about getting things for me when he doesn't have them, or keeping an eye out for things he thinks I might like. I haven't seen their newest (next door) location, but I need to plan a trip in just so I can see how it turned out. Everyone there is really nice, and I've spent a lot of time just hanging out shooting the breeze about totally un-comic related things. Great place for action figures and comics. Comics can be very bent from people that come in and don't buy, but still a good selection. I like all the retro comics on the walls too. Last night, I had the absolute pleasure of visiting and doing business with the folks at Comicazi, specifically Bob. He was super knowledgable and forthcoming with information about some comics that I brought in that were previously from my Dad's collection. I had a good time taking a trip down memory lane, while talking comics. It reminded me a lot of my Dad. When I made the decision to sell, Bob offered me an extremely fair price and I can only kick myself in the ass for not heading there sooner. From Running Special Events (Cookies, Comedy, Drink & Draw, and Trivia) to Games (Heroclix, Magic, and Pokemon) to having a book club. This store is the perfect place for a hobbyist. You can come and rent a back table for a Dollar a chair and play a board game of your own, or Break out your role playing books and start throwing dice. This carters to no mater what you love. My Girlfriend doesn't care for comics, but catches up on old collect Peanuts strips or thumbs through some of the new stuff that's hitting the comic book shelves. The staff is always pleasant, and does not look down their nose at anyone. One night I saw a group of women coming into the shop just to buy Heroclix , not to play the game, but to Mod the figures to make their own for a game they were playing. read more

Awesome store. I remember when it was up the street a bit, but never made it in. Finally made it in recently, and it was great. The guy manning the register that day was extremely helpful in helping me choose things I was into. Once the owner heard what I was looking for, he personally picked out a bunch of titles that I may enjoy giving over a bunch of time to me for this. Loved the personal attention. My favorite comic book store in Boston / Cambridge / Somerville. I try to go here every few weeks to dive into their $2 back issue bins, which are pretty well-stocked and accessible (the space is pretty large) and fun to explore. In addition to single issues, the store also has lots of collected runs / miniseries available for reasonable prices. Beyond the older comics, there's lots more to explore in this store: tons of toys from various brands and eras (I'm particularly partial to the wrestling figures), magazines, trading cards, and various other random memorabilia. It's a cool place to wander around: I come here pretty regularly and there's always new things to check out (and the store's Instagram does a nice job of highlighting sales and recent additions). I would recommend that you check the events calendar before heading over: sometimes the back space (toys and most of the back issues) is blocked off (though it is cool that the store does lots of events!). Gigantic store. They have basically a whole room mostly dedicated to action figures, a lot of different comic book franchises, and more. But they don't always have what or a lot if what I'm looking for (maybe because i like comic book series that aren't that popular and i have a lot of comic books that are already there.) Not a very large selection of books, mostly monthlies and very few indies, but an incredible array of action figures and all kinds of other sci-fi/fanatsy/comic book collectibles. Hands down the best comic store I've been to. Every single employee asked me if I needed help and each of them were able to help me with finding what I needed. They're not in-your-face with what they know, and it's wonderful to see how involved they are with they love and how they like to spread it with others (ask about the events that they hold in the store if you drop by!). EVER. The guys who run this store are, first and foremost, toy/comic enthusiasts, and toy collectors like us. And it shows in everything they do, from their beyond exceptional customer service to their fair and extremely reasonable pricing. I help to organize TFcon, the largest fan-run Transformers Convention in the world, and I was blown away by the depth and selection of Transformers (and other 80s toys). But what shocked me even more was how great their prices were. No e-bay prices here! No Scalping! No price Gouging! Even with only $5 in your pocket you can walk away with a gem to add to your collection! As far as selection goes they had: Masterpiece G1 G2 Beast Wars Transformers Movie 1 Transformers Movie 2 (Revenge of the Fallen) Transformers Movie 3 (Dark of the Moon) Armada Cybertron Energon Alternators Classics Generations Animated Transformers Prime and more! Everyday is an adventure at Comicazi!! I've been to many comic and figurine/toy stores in my life and I will easily keep coming back to this business over and over again. I love the wide range of comics-from major names to local artists! Their recommendations tables are a great way to find a new favorite series to read. Their figurine and toy selection is out of this world! I have quite the addiction for M.U.S.C.L.E. Men- and Comicazi pulls out the big guns here! Or should I say big bins? And let us not forget the nice range of table top games. From elaborate to simple they'll have what you're looking for! The staff is extremely funny, nice, and helpful. Excellent comic shop. All the comic books, action figures/figurines you could ever want. They always have a great deal on comic books, so you never have to leave empty-handed. The staff is knowledgable, kind, and very helpful. Staff is comfortable with their regulars and newcomers. It's organized well, and you can find exactly what you want.
