Fantastic unbelievably funny comedians that amazed us with their talent and ability to keep the crowd in it and roaring with laughter. We had the best time and the staff was awesome. I love this place. Comix at Mohegan Sun offers a great atmosphere. The staff is great, Michelle, Nicky, Danny, Matt are all friendly and are always ready to recommend a great IPA beer. The beer selection is awesome. It's one of the best in the area. You've got to check it out. The owner, Mike, is always around and mingles with the guests. He listens and loves any suggestions you may have. The comedy shows are lots of fun, and the ticket prices are very reasonable. Great food, great beer and spirits. They make some cool specialty drinks too. They have a piano player/singer, does great Billy Joel songs and takes requests from the guests. They also do karaoke on Thursday nights. Terrible service once seated. Took forever to get drinks. Appetizer (wings) came out, but was dry when we asked for Buffalo tossed. The waitress took them back to remake the order, but returned with the same plate of wings (with the bones of the two we tried because we were not given plates) with two sides of Buffalo sauce. Then comes dinner, but wait-she hasn't taken our dinner order yet. We had to bring that to her attention and she stated she would be right back for that? So we finally order our dinner. Two salmon dinners. At this point, we are there over an hour and wondering if we will have time to eat it within the 90-minute cap they gave us at the table when they seated us! When our food came out, it was two steak dinners and the waitress then argues with us stating we both ordered steak?! Apparently a theme because the two ladies at the table next to us were comped their dinners because the one woman ordered the salmon dinner and got steak. Unbelievable. Needless to say, we left hungry and very disappointed. read more

We saw 3 comedians and each one brought a lot of laughs to the room!! April Macie was the 'headliner' and her female presence in the comedy act was on target! We really enjoyed her act, and the 2 gentlemen who started the night off were each hilarious in different ways! Thanks to the whole group, the venue @ Mohegan is set up perfectly, any seat in the room is great! Nice small/medium sized room with decent sound systems. Went in with l a table of 9 last night the server was no where to be found, barely checked in on us. When we arrived we didn't recieve any water glasses, we ended up getting water glasses when the bill was coming to us. The food was not good at all. The bill added gratitude, which I understand because it was a table of 6 or more, but I felt the server didn't deserve it. I went to the mechanical bull person to see how much it was to ride the bull, as it was my cousins 21st birthday, I went to go grab her not even 5 mins and the refused to let her ride it because they were closing it up and it was immediately after someone had just got off. It was an awful experience especially for someone who's first time it was there. read more

Would give zero if I could, and I never do this but my family and bachelorette party was so upset with this place. Extremely rude service. Had one underage adult with our group of 10 and informed the man at the front who checked ID's. He allowed us to check in our reservation. The first hostess would not sit our group together or even remotely close. We were civil and asked why we have reservations but cannot sit with the rest of our group. She got frustrated and threw our "problem" to the manager. He was not understanding that we, as a group of 10, knew that there wasn't a table big enough and gave us an extremely hard time trying to get seats when we had reservations. He took 4 of us and put us on the complete opposite end of the restaurant and threw the other 6 by the bar and yelled at us for having an underage with us. He then told the waitress, with a lot of attitude might I add, that we have an underage adult and our 90 minutes starts now. Waitress didn't even take our food order for 45 minutes. Barely had any time to eat. Very disrespectful service. Never spending money there again. read more

I wanted to love this evening and except for the end of the show and the staff I didn't. We went to the drag queen show on 9/6. We have been before in Lowell, Ma so we expected this to be a giant step up. Sadly, It wasn't. I think part of it was the music tracks which were a little garbled at times. They would interject a lot of crying or laughing or dialog. One of the highlights was when they brought some customers up on stage for a contest. When the performers would come out into the crowd to collect tips, it was just like someone flipped a light switch. No spotlight. There were times when two performers walked right by those holding out $1 bills. I mean looked and walked by while others were more gracious. I could see if they were in the middle of dancing etc but it seemed like a snub. Even the bachelorette party next to us who were having a great time commented. The drinks are so watered down and for $8 they should be decent. I'm a pretty light drinker and the night before I was at a private event at the hotel and those drinks had alcohol in them. I had 1 at the private event and was satisfied. I had 2 at comix and it was like I was drinking flat coke. Pretty much the same watered down drinks as at the .25 slots except those are free :-) Another issue was when the door would open you could hear the bands easily since they were about 12' feet away. I'll try a comedy act next time and just order beer in a bottle, least you know what your getting with a beer. read more

Attempted to go to RodMan show. (Tickets purchased a couple weeks ago to enjoy a night out) As previous yelper shared, seating was horrendous. Sitting at a crowded table across from person I went with and squishing like a sardine in between 2 strangers? Not my idea of fun! Mohegan Sun- I know this is not under your direct management, but not the experience I'm used to getting while at your casino. Decided not to stay for show and won't return there for another... 50 bucks wasted was enough. I'd rather lose that at a table or in a slot machine. read more

Comedy show fantastic (Dave Attell). Visited Friday for an 8pm show. Very disappointed at service and beer options. We paid for "VIP" tickets and were seated early. Offered drinks quickly but we asked to peruse the menu. We placed our orders for 2 different beers that were on tap (according to their menu) and eventually were both given the wrong beers. I ordered the pineapple sculpin and got something else entirely, and partner got the correct type, but in can form. Mine was just wrong and came in a can. We waited to flag down the server, who then informed us TWENTY of the beers were tapped out since that morning (they claim to have 28 drafts). Mind you no mention of beers being out was made until then. Orders are taken on an iPad - type device. So this second time around the server informed us she didn't know what was left on tap, but "if you tell me what you want I can try to put it in and see if it's available". After we looked perplexed she then said, "or I guess I can look, write down the names of the beers we have". My partner said, "yeah, if you could, that would be good". Next is a solid 10 minutes of basically being ignored. Told partner I am sure we are just being ignored for questioning an incorrect order. Eventually server returns (she does apologize) but said "it got so busy, I only got to write a few down" and quickly flashed a list, that she did not let us see. It was just bizarre... like, sorry I'm busy working on a Friday night, you don't matter, um, here's all you get! Eventually I got what I first asked for (pineapple sculpin, draft ) and partner just ordered (and received) something else entirely. Partner made an interesting point- whole fiasco might be a weird way to get around not having happy hour. Both beers we ordered were much cheaper (i.e. $3) as drafts, and it seemed like for the comedy show they mysteriously were all tapped out. Why would a craft beer place not have 20 of their beers on tap? Additional food for thought- if 20 beers are unavailable, wouldn't that list of remaining beers be down to 8, and wouldn't others have a similar issue, so if the night is young perhaps a manager or another would have printed something staff could use? Whole thing was super fishy and server basically was cold to us after we questioned the order. I am curious if this is a sort of scam. Did not eat here so can't vouch for food. The VIP seats were very nice, really close to stage and everyone faces forward, so that's nice. read more

We went here last night for the 8:00pm Rod Man show. Rod Man himself was great! We really enjoyed his show. Loved him on Last Comic Standing and he did not disappoint last night either. I gave 2 stars, (and that was being Generous!) for the venue itself! We arrived and were promptly seated at a Very Small table with a couple on either side of us. Your seated across from each other and if you want to speak to each other you have to lean in and yell! You're seated so close together you cannot even stretch your arms out without hitting the people next to you! When the show began the only way for me to see was to pull my chair out into the aisle and even then my view was obstructed by a huge column in the center of the room. So for half the show I had to sit and just listen because I Definitely could Not see the comedian!! We felt like Sardines packed in there!! Very Disappointed!! So although the Comedian was Great the venue took away from our ability to Completely enjoy ourselves!! I'm quite sure we will NEVER return no matter who is on stage!! read more

Went this past weekend with my boyfriend and while we loved the show I'm not sure if we'd come back to Comix. In order to get to the comedy club we had to walk through it's main restaurant which was spacious and well decorated so we thought, this is going to be great! When we got to the comedy club we saw high tops along the outside of the main seating, tables in the center, bar style seating towards the front, and while I couldn't see it, I'm sure there was round table seating in the front. We paid for general admission tickets and as we were led by our host we walked past the nice high tops and brought to the main seating which I kid you not had tables that were no bigger than a TV table wedged together between other guests. There was little to no breathing room - the guests next to us had even exclaimed "welcome to the family!" when we sat down. We ordered nachos and their "jumbo" not so "jumbo" soft pretzels and a couple of drinks. The nachos came to us cold. So cold that the cheese had to be torn off the pile of nachos. The pretzels were okay but they were more like regular soft pretzels rather than a jumbo pretzel, and all was served with plastic plates and plastic silverware. Our bill was $43 without tip. Again the comic was great but the seating and layout was definitely set up to wedge as many people into this fairly small space as possible. The food was disappointing especially because we had hoped to essentially have a dinner show. And we couldn't wait to leave because it was hard to enjoy yourself when you're trying to stay out of everyone else's legroom and view while watching the show. I would have much rather watched in a theater set up and gone to a restaurant before or after. read more

Comix as a whole was a great bar the beer menu was expansive and had many high quality local breweries featured. Beers ran $5-$9 with mixed drinks in the $7-$12 range. The service was great as well. The only downside was the manager named Paul who at one point was yelling at a waitress for a solid minute highlights included "get your Fucking head on right!" and "I am so Fucking sick of your shit." complete with repeated angry pointing several inches from her face. I'd give the management team 1 star and the servers 5 if possible, I guess it averages to 3. read more

The Comedy Club was great, my second time there, each better than the last. The individual who checked my ticket at the front was very appreciative of my military serviced and informed me of the 25% discount available. The food there is really good as well as the drinks. I've been here a few times and never been disappointed. I haven't eaten here but the drinks are good and prices aren't out of line for this type of venue. There's a two-drink minimum and my wife doesn't drink, so I appreciated that they were flexible with our order and I left a nice tip. The General Admission seating arrangement isn't ideal (long tables) but it's never detracted from the overall experience - if you are in the GA area make sure you're not seated behind one of the support pillars. I saw a comedian here last week and had a great time! The customer service is great and I think the venue is intimate but still big enough to seat a good amount of people. We were seated immediately and served quickly throughout the show. After the show we stayed in the bar area for karaoke and it was a BLAST! Our server was attentive and extremely kind. Great atmosphere when entering the main comix host. The biggest difference is the seating. Very comfortable personal space. Servers came right down the row too drinks and food orders and the show began while your drinks and food were being brought out. Also 4 star in the price point for the $10 seat we bought. Our experience was awful. Took forever to get drinks, was not even busy. Hostess/cashier was very rude. The man child manager was as well rude. I myself work in the casino and would never get away with treating guests as we were treated. We had left friends to go for a few laughs and was so disappointed. Will definitely not be returning. The group behind us were "friends" with one of the comedians and were having no issue getting drinks, talking, having a great time while we were sitting there looking for our server asking ourselves why we even came. The opening comedian was dry and had awkward jokes. Just an overall bad time. read more

Went for a 50th birthday with a group of 11 girls and were so so so disappointed! There is a sign that says no heckling which I totally get however it should also say that you are school and can't speak at all or laugh. One lady in our group got spoken to for laughing to loud/much and when the bill came at the end of the night and we were trying to QUITELY figure out the bill we were told no talking across the table. Never again would I go or recommend this to anyone. Very poor management that would like someone speak to paying customers as we weren't the only people that he spoke to. "Bouncer" literally walked table to table I think looking for someone to yell at. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

Not only would I recommend Comix to a friend...I regularly do recommend it to any and all people I meet who have an interest in comedy. In fact, for the Jessica Kirson Show, I purchased two VIP tickets for friends to join us...and they loved it. How could you NOT love Jessica Kirson...she's amazing! Also, how could you NOT love Mark Wiesenthal...this guy has been so accommodating to the fans for years at Comix and he easily and instantly made arrangements for me to attend Thursday's Show when I had a last minute conflict for Saturday's early show. I mean the folks at Comix are the BEST and they do a tremendous job providing southern New England with the best in live comedy. Great venue, great beer selections (maybe a bit heavy in the hipster IPA side for my liking), decent food at reasonable prices, tremendous service from comedy-savvy servers...what more could you ask for. Comedy folks are the best to begin with, but Comix folks are the best of the best. Been to comedy shows all over - Boston, Providence, New Haven, New York, Northampton, Hampton Beach, Phoenix, LA, Hamden, Danbury, Hartford, Manchester, Westport, Branford (yup, even Branford) and nobody comes close. They let us bring Brody Stevens and Kurt Braunoler cakes to their shows and they were such memorable times for us I can't even tell you how grateful we were. I will be back, with my kids, relatives and friends (especially now that you're at Mohegan Sun...so much better than the other venue!). And while my nose is still brown, we'd love to see Lynn Koplitz, Rhys Darby, Emo Phillips, Eugene Mirman, Eddie Pepitone, and Todd Glass make appearances, and of course we'll get tickets every time for Jessica. But keep 'em all coming in any case - comedy is so important especially now. Thanks for doing what you do and we look forward to seeing you soon. read more
