    Latte & Sheep Matcha Latte
    Elisa B.

Had seen these coffee shop all over social media and decided to try it after I saw the viral sheep matcha. It wasn't far at all from the house and once we arrived to the lot it was a bit confusing as the lines for the parking lot definitely need to be repainted. Plenty of space however. Once we entered we loved the dark aesthetic of the whole shop and were able to order in the self serve screen. The decor was really nice and the wait time was maybe about 5 minutes. We sat down and waited for our order and once they were called, I went over to grab my drinks. The servers were very sweet and gave me a tray to take back to my table. The sheep matcha was absolutely delicious and I was so intrigued by the design. It was a deli table matcha with a matcha cream on the top which they were able to design the sheep. My partner got a latte and the cup was so cute! The ambiance of the shop was very relaxing, and the drinks were absolutely delicious! This is definitely a new fave matcha of mine!

Another unique cafe we discovered while visiting Atlanta! They offer a wide variety of creative and interesting drinks and we had a hard time deciding what to order. In the end, we went with some of their popular selections. I ordered the Buttercream Latte while my husband chose the Uncommon Espresso Tonic. His drink was definitely the more unique of the two. Very interesting but surprisingly good! My latte had a lovely butterscotch flavor that I really enjoyed. The cafe itself was very spacious with simple yet sophisticated decor that created a relaxing atmosphere. I absolutely loved the space. There were still so many drinks we wanted to try so we'll definitely be back the next time we visit Atlanta!

If you're wondering if the viral Little Sheep Matcha Latte is worth the stop, yes! The matcha was smooth, creamy, and not too bitter, and my friend's Salted Cocoa Hojicha Latte was rich with flavor. Both drinks were right in color and taste, not milky at all, which really let the tea flavors come through. Even my friend who usually doesn't like matcha ended up liking it. The drinks were adorable, the staff was sweet, and the dark moody interior mixed with all the natural sunlight made it such a relaxing place to study and lounge. Between the ambiance, presentation, and quality of the drinks, this is definitely a must stop if you're in Doraville looking for good matcha.

Such a cool coffee shop perfect for a meet up! I love the vibes inside and ordering is easy either at the counter or at the kiosk at the front. I really wanted to try the viral sheep matcha and I loved it! Since it wasn't busy I felt like we got great service and the sheep matcha was soooo cute! I liked that the matcha foam was relatively strong since I think a lot of places have watered down iced matcha. I definitely would like to come back for the cocktails too!

Atlanta doesn't have the best coffee scene, but I'd say this spot is one of the better options! A Chinese-style coffee shop with lots of trendy and unique options. For this visit, I got the viral Sheep Matcha. The design was so cute and meticulous! I caught several people trying to take a picture of my drink haha. The sheep cream top was well designed. The matcha itself tasted pretty good and was on the sweeter side, but not too sweet which I liked. However, I'm not sure if the matcha blend they used was the greatest quality since my mouth dried a lot while drinking it. Still pretty good regardless. This comes iced as a default I believe. The interior is pretty nice and trendy. A good spot to lounge and hangout. For parking, they have a huge and free parking lot out front. Overall, pretty solid and I would come back if I was looking for coffee/matcha/dessert in the area.

The matcha was delicious and the aesthetic was absolutely fire. I loved the all black design of the coffee shop it felt cozy, modern, and super chill. The music set a great vibe, and there were plenty of seating areas to relax, work, or catch up with friends. The tiramisu was on the sweeter side, but it was really good and perfect for anyone craving a sweet treat. Overall, a great spot with a welcoming atmosphere and solid drinks and desserts.

Replaced Tan Cha which I'll really miss. Loved their taro milk...maybe Common will do something with taro seasonally? I really enjoyed Common for what it is. Super hip coffee and cocktail shop with a unique concept. I ordered the uncommon latte (with earl grey+orange), salted jasmine latte, and toasted rice cheesecake. The lattes were tasty and very unique. Out of the 2 we liked the salted jasmine more. I LOVED the toasted rice basque cheesecake. It was so good. Soft and creamy basque cheesecake with a delicious house made rice syrup cream. I just wish the slice was bigger for the price haha. Will definitely return and try other items! It would be nice if they opened earlier though - never heard of a coffee shop that doesn't open till 11am on weekends...otherwise, service is friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have.

One of the coolest and most aesthetically pleasing cafes in Doraville. The drinks are creative and vary from coffee, matcha, refresher type drinks. They also serve miniature desserts. Everything I've tried here has been pretty good and I like the decor inside! Service is friendly and drinks come out quickly.

I had to come here and try the little sheep matcha latte and let me tell you it was perfect. So creamy and delicious and has a great tea taste and it's adorable!!! This is such a cute place and I am so happy to know about it because they are open late which I love. My friend tried the buttercream latte and that was delicious too. Their milk has a great texture from the way they foam it and you can tell it's high quality and the baristas are amazing. It's not super big but we were lucky to find a table to sit and read at for a bit!

Things you should know: I. PARKING Common Coffee & Cocktails is within a plaza and shares a free parking lot with the adjacent businesses. Easy. II. SERVICE None of their pastries are on display but maybe they will be eventually since they have a display case?? They offer dishes in glassware if you dine-in and are timely about pushing out orders. Everything about the esthetics here are appealing and minimal. III. QUALITY I ordered an iced, black americano. The roast is dense and acidic ~ something I'd recommend. Also, there was a variety of citrus tonic americanos all over their menu; it must be their specialty and worth a try. IV. CAPACITY This place isn't crowded on weekdays so I highly recommend going during this time to get favorable seating and have a quiet environment to get work/studying done.

Common Coffee Uncommon Latte: was smooth and well balanced, with a light orange aroma, silky milk foam, and a gentle espresso presence that isn't overpowering 9/10. Yuzu Matcha Tonic:I wouldn't say it's bad, but the yuzu bitterness overpowered the matcha, giving it more of an herbal drink vibe. Hope they can find the best proportion for most balanced flavor 5/10 Black Sesame Basque: bold, nutty flavor with a deeply caramelized exterior and a soft, creamy center ,rich but not too sweet. 10/10 If you're into aesthetic cafes, specialty lattes, and unique desserts, this spot is worth a visit.

Love the interior and coffee here. So far I tried hojicha, toasted rice, and common latte. I think my favorite has been hojicha but all has been super good! We especially love the earl gray cheesecake here! Been wanting to try canele but they never have it. Maybe one day.

Uncommon or extraordinary would be a better description for this new coffee cafe in Doraville, outside of Atlanta on Buford Highway. The memo: This is not just an "Asian-inspired" cafe as it has been generally described often. It is as specific as a city. The city of Shanghai. Shanghainese coffee culture has exploded over the years. Due to Shanghai being the most café-dense city in the world with thousands of coffee spots, competition has created some of the most innovative cafe menus and recipes. You will see a reflection of that innovation at Common. I have been asked by many, "Where can I find something similar to Japanese pudding in Atlanta?" (Since my last trip to Japan, where purin was a focus.) This is the closest that I've found so far to プリン purin , which is more eggy and resembles flan. The pudding at Common, while presented the same, has more of a gelatin texture and drink flavored. The matcha and sesame purin flavors at Common pair well with their drinks, since they are a drink cafe afterall. Tried : 1 焙茶拿铁 Hojicha Latte 2 不平凡拿铁 Uncommon Latte (Earl Grey with orange cream ) 3 黑芝麻布丁 Black Sesame Pudding 4 抹茶布丁 Matcha Pudding I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and they were slammed, with all seats taken. Yet, the staff were able to serve up my order within 7 minutes with ease. Everything tasted wonderful. Staff is smiling and welcoming. I do hope that they get some spoons soon for the pudding, because the plastic forks were odd. A coffeehouse with modern and minimalist moody decor feels sophisticated and much needed in the Buford Highway scene. Thank you, Common, for being here.

I opted to park at the Wal-Mart and wasn't as familiar with the trail so I took the street route. Well-light and populated for safe crossing. The venue is very open and was relatively empty since we arrived shortly after it opened. I love the indoor seating concept with plenty of couches, movable chairs, tables near the open-area space and smaller sections for 2-4 people tucked away along the wall. The DJ was already doing his thing and the bartenders remained busy. As someone who wasn't interested in the drinks, I appreciate that there was a self-serve water cooler in the center of the room. The Jenga and jumbo Uno cards were a hit!!!! It was so nice to have these options available. And as others mentioned, the large screen was playing a classic movie - which we could still see from inside. I didn't stay long and this was a Sunday night but the parking lot was much busier when I left. I imagine the outdoor space gets crowded later in the evening as well. The DJ was just okay - not my cup of tea - but folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. I can definitely see why this place is popular. Although parking is less than desirable, it is not unreasonable. The venue is well-lit and easy to move around. The crowd was diverse, with various ages and backgrounds represented. And depending on the DJ, this would be a great place for meeting with friends, date night or just zoning out to some wonderful music ... especially on a beautiful night. If you're in the mood for something different AND don't mind the trek to Chamblee, check it out.

This trip was actually our first time visiting without him so we were a little lost about what to do next. LOL. We had gone to a cafe earlier in the day but it was still too early for dinner so we kept searching for something interesting to do. That's when my husband found Distillery of Modern Art. I wasn't really in the mood for drinking during the day so I wasn't sure at first but I'm so glad we went! We had never heard of a combination of a distillery and an art gallery before which immediately caught our attention. It looked like the space is used for a variety of events as well. Since we visited during Mother's Day weekend, there was a flower arrangement workshop happening in one of the rooms when we arrived. The bar area was very spacious with plenty of seating and since it was our first visit, we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the different liquors they produce. My husband sampled their rye whiskey, gin, and Amaro Peach. I'm usually not much of a gin fan but theirs was exceptionally smooth and I actually enjoyed it. Amaro tends to be quite bitter but their Amaro Peach had a really nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. I ordered the Ocean Eyes cocktail which features their Amaro Peach and it was excellent. The bartender also made his own special version of a classic cocktail for my husband (I forgot the name!) and he really enjoyed it. What stood out most was how friendly and passionate the bartender was. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does and honestly, he made the experience even more enjoyable for us. We had such a great visit that my husband ended up bringing home bottles of their gin and Amaro Peach. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Atlanta!

At 9:26pm, we sent 2 people from our group of 6 to go by Sapphire to see if they had availability for us. The manager told them "yes, we will have a room in 5 minutes" so the rest of our group showed up excited and ready to karaoke. We waiting patiently 10-15 minutes and the manager came by again with "I'm sorry but someone messed up reservations and we won't have a room until 10pm". It was 9:44 pm at this point. The manager could tell we were about to leave and she comes back and says "oh good news, this group is checking out now. I'll have a room ready in 10 minutes". 2 from our group couldn't wait longer so they left. The rest of us decided to wait and got 2 bottles of Soju. It's $15 a bottle and THEY WILL CHARGE YOU A NON OPTIONAL GRATUITY so keep that in mind if you want to leave a tip, it's additional. Our total for the soju ended up averaging $20 a bottle. I asked the manager at 10pm what's going on and she just cuts me off and keeps walking with a "hold on". 10:15pm rolls around and the manager was no where to be seen. At this point we have been waiting 45 minutes with no updates when the original wait quote was FIVE minutes. We saw 3-4 parties come in and get seated. I'm not sure what kind of business they're trying to run but we sure felt BAMBOOZLED out of $50 for 2 bottles of soju and wasted 45 minutes of our time. They clearly have to figure out their scheduling/reservation system if the staff are making multiple errors. Don't lie to patrons that you have a room available when you don't. This felt like the equivalent of an overbooked/oversold flight and they were hoping they could get more clients to cover no shows- at least be honest and say we were on a waitlist.

The second I saw it, I didn't care about the price -- I knew I wanted it, so I planned us a date night. When we arrived, there was a birthday party going on, and I asked the maître d' if they were limiting seating because of the event. He didn't quite understand me, so my fiancée just asked for a table for two, and we were seated quickly. The setup was nice, although I'm personally not a fan of pre-set plates and glasses on tables (you never know how long they've been sitting there). Still, our server was fantastic -- attentive, helpful, and made the night smooth. We came for the famous Piraye Kebab Tray. At first, we were looking at the $165 option (Chef Tray + 1 Meze Board + Shepherd Salad + 4 Orders of Piraye Kebab with rice, all baked inside the dough). When we mentioned the price, our server kindly told us about the smaller 2-order option for $85 -- perfect! And let me tell you, Lord above, when I say I would do some things to eat this food again... words cannot describe how incredible it was. It has been three days since, and I'm still thinking about it. I even posted it on my stories, and over 10 people have messaged me asking about it. Chef Tray: Overflowing with juicy, flavorful meat, perfectly seasoned rice with chickpeas (I swear it was made with veal stock), and that roasted pepper and cheese-stuffed dough on top -- divine. Meze Board: The hummus was creamy and rich, paired perfectly with fresh pita. Shepherd Salad: Fresh, crisp, and balanced. My only small regret was that our server misunderstood when we asked for the dough crust to-go -- I realized the next day it wasn't packed up. Honestly though, I couldn't even be upset, because the food was just that good. For drinks and dessert: Turkish Coffee - small but strong, beautifully presented with a piece of Turkish delight on the side that was everything I had ever imagined a Turkish sweet to be: chewy, fragrant, and delicately sweet. Künefe - a dream come true! A warm, crunchy pastry with gooey melted cheese inside, topped with sweet syrup and pistachios. It was rich, nutty, and sweet without being overwhelming -- the perfect ending. Turkish Martini - decent, but not nearly as memorable as the food. All together, including tip, it was about $140. For the amount and quality of food, the attentive service, and the one-of-a-kind experience, it was absolutely worth every single cent. Piraye Kitchen isn't just dinner -- it's an experience. This is a must-try-before-you-die type of place. Oh, and happy birthday, Amy!

I came in on a Saturday for a 6:15 PM reservation for a party of four. I arrived first on time and my first guest arrived at 6:20 PM. I was told I had to wait till the rest of my party arrived. I set at the bar while waiting for the rest of our party. My friend approached the hostess stand to ask if we could be seated as a party of two . Also, advised the Mexican girl that it will be only 3 but, we don't have to wait for her cause she's not gonna be eating since we're on a time schedule and was attending an event. The hostess was very rude and dismissive, stating "that's not how it works" in an unprofessional tone. Later, another hostess came over and said our reservation had "run over" at 6:35 PM, even though we were already in the restaurant before our reservation time window had passed and there were clearly open tables available. The restaurant wasn't packed at all. When we asked again about a table for two, we were told we could either sit at the bar or wait. The interaction felt very unwelcoming and unprofessional. We told the hostess we wanted a table for two to sit down and eat . The black hostess said , so you want to stay at the bar or you want a table . I said a table. She said , the bar ‍I said no a table. She then said that they could refuse service if we had an attitude, which was not the case . I simply answered her question by saying no . Told her I didn't know that saying no is me having an attitude. At that point, we chose to leave and not spend our money there due to the poor customer service and the rudeness of the hostess. Overall, the staff we interacted with on June 20th at 6:15 PM were rude and unprofessional and clearly need better customer service training. Based on this experience, I understand why there are so many negative reviews.
