I haven't been to many coffee shops that is both dark while having light walls and an exposed ceiling. It feels like a cool place to hang, but there isn't much seating for bigger groups. I'm not sure how it is normally, but it was pretty busy when I visited. Basically every table was taken. I didn't get to try any of the snacks, and some of their menu says "coming soon..." so I'll need to come back and see what's new, but what I did try was nice. The blueberry matcha latte was good and pretty creamy. You can taste and see the blueberries. The jasmine pudding was fun. The jasmine tea comes through, but I wish it was a creamy pudding not just smooth.
Stooped in today and had the Buttercream Latte and truffle fries. Oddly enough I enjoyed the fries more than the coffee. The coffee was okay but had a taste to it that was off putting. Possibly the coffee itself. The staff was great. Very friendly and answered my questions. I will try a different drink next time.

I was originally planning on getting the Madelines, but unfortunately they have nuts, so I opted for the financiers. These were still very tasty- not too sweet! I preferred the blueberry over the sausage one. I love the matcha-yuzu cannnelle. Delicious. A good matcha flavor, and the yuzu comes through well but doesn't overpower the matcha. As for the drinks, I really enjoyed the sheep matcha and the toasted rice latte. I wish they had skim milk as a milk option. Both drinks were really yummy and also not overwhelmingly sweet. the toasted rice flavor was quite apparent before mixing, but once mixed my drink just kind of tasted like a slightly nuttier latte. Still yummy though but I probably wouldn't get this again. As a whole, the drinks and the small bites were both really good! Some small things to nitpick, but I really enjoyed my experience! The interior is dark, a little moody, and dimly lit- I can see how it turns into a bar. Service was pretty quick and the workers were nice. Overall, I would recommend! I will definitely be returning for their cocktails!
This is such a cute, unique spot in Doraville! I stopped by with a friend on a weekday evening, and it was still buzzing with people. The interior aesthetic is super cool, minimalistic but very well-curated. You can really tell they put a lot of intentionality into their menu. We tried the toasted rice hojicha and the matcha, and both were fantastic; it's clear they care about the quality of their ingredients. I'm already planning my next trip back to try more of their drink options. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area!
Did not get a chance to try their food options but just from the drinks and vibes alone, this place is still phenomenal as always!! Drinks came out so quick!
Had seen these coffee shop all over social media and decided to try it after I saw the viral sheep matcha. It wasn't far at all from the house and once we arrived to the lot it was a bit confusing as the lines for the parking lot definitely need to be repainted. Plenty of space however. Once we entered we loved the dark aesthetic of the whole shop and were able to order in the self serve screen. The decor was really nice and the wait time was maybe about 5 minutes. We sat down and waited for our order and once they were called, I went over to grab my drinks. The servers were very sweet and gave me a tray to take back to my table. The sheep matcha was absolutely delicious and I was so intrigued by the design. It was a deli table matcha with a matcha cream on the top which they were able to design the sheep. My partner got a latte and the cup was so cute! The ambiance of the shop was very relaxing, and the drinks were absolutely delicious! This is definitely a new fave matcha of mine!
Another unique cafe we discovered while visiting Atlanta! They offer a wide variety of creative and interesting drinks and we had a hard time deciding what to order. In the end, we went with some of their popular selections. I ordered the Buttercream Latte while my husband chose the Uncommon Espresso Tonic. His drink was definitely the more unique of the two. Very interesting but surprisingly good! My latte had a lovely butterscotch flavor that I really enjoyed. The cafe itself was very spacious with simple yet sophisticated decor that created a relaxing atmosphere. I absolutely loved the space. There were still so many drinks we wanted to try so we'll definitely be back the next time we visit Atlanta!
If you're wondering if the viral Little Sheep Matcha Latte is worth the stop, yes! The matcha was smooth, creamy, and not too bitter, and my friend's Salted Cocoa Hojicha Latte was rich with flavor. Both drinks were right in color and taste, not milky at all, which really let the tea flavors come through. Even my friend who usually doesn't like matcha ended up liking it. The drinks were adorable, the staff was sweet, and the dark moody interior mixed with all the natural sunlight made it such a relaxing place to study and lounge. Between the ambiance, presentation, and quality of the drinks, this is definitely a must stop if you're in Doraville looking for good matcha.

For this visit, I got the viral Sheep Matcha. The design was so cute and meticulous! I caught several people trying to take a picture of my drink haha. The sheep cream top was well designed. The matcha itself tasted pretty good and was on the sweeter side, but not too sweet which I liked. However, I'm not sure if the matcha blend they used was the greatest quality since my mouth dried a lot while drinking it. Still pretty good regardless. This comes iced as a default I believe. The interior is pretty nice and trendy. A good spot to lounge and hangout. For parking, they have a huge and free parking lot out front. Overall, pretty solid and I would come back if I was looking for coffee/matcha/dessert in the area.
Replaced Tan Cha which I'll really miss. Loved their taro milk...maybe Common will do something with taro seasonally? I really enjoyed Common for what it is. Super hip coffee and cocktail shop with a unique concept. I ordered the uncommon latte (with earl grey+orange), salted jasmine latte, and toasted rice cheesecake. The lattes were tasty and very unique. Out of the 2 we liked the salted jasmine more. I LOVED the toasted rice basque cheesecake. It was so good. Soft and creamy basque cheesecake with a delicious house made rice syrup cream. I just wish the slice was bigger for the price haha. Will definitely return and try other items! It would be nice if they opened earlier though - never heard of a coffee shop that doesn't open till 11am on weekends...otherwise, service is friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have.

REALLY good and creative drinks!! I took a sip and immediately signed up for their loyalty program. For starters, they offer a salted jasmine latte (which I got) which has jasmine latte as the dairy base. It was as delicious as I imagined. Plenty of parking in the lot. Can either or at the kiosk or counter. Staff were very friendly. Love the interior design; minimalistic vibes. Good amount of seating. Absolutely loved the sheep matcha! The latte art was so cute! Very creamy and fragrant. Really hope they bring this back. The basque cheesecake was kind of dry. Can get points every time you order which is nice. read more

Uncommon or extraordinary would be a better description for this new coffee cafe in Doraville, outside of Atlanta on Buford Highway. The memo: This is not just an "Asian-inspired" cafe as it has been generally described often. It is as specific as a city. The city of Shanghai. Shanghainese coffee culture has exploded over the years. Due to Shanghai being the most café-dense city in the world with thousands of coffee spots, competition has created some of the most innovative cafe menus and recipes. You will see a reflection of that innovation at Common. I have been asked by many, "Where can I find something similar to Japanese pudding in Atlanta?" (Since my last trip to Japan, where purin was a focus.) This is the closest that I've found so far to プリン purin , which is more eggy and resembles flan. The pudding at Common, while presented the same, has more of a gelatin texture and drink flavored. The matcha and sesame purin flavors at Common pair well with their drinks, since they are a drink cafe afterall. Tried : 1 焙茶拿铁 Hojicha Latte 2 不平凡拿铁 Uncommon Latte (Earl Grey with orange cream ) 3 黑芝麻布丁 Black Sesame Pudding 4 抹茶布丁 Matcha Pudding I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and they were slammed, with all seats taken. Yet, the staff were able to serve up my order within 7 minutes with ease. Everything tasted wonderful. Staff is smiling and welcoming. I do hope that they get some spoons soon for the pudding, because the plastic forks were odd. Things you should know: I. PARKING Common Coffee & Cocktails is within a plaza and shares a free parking lot with the adjacent businesses. Easy. II. SERVICE None of their pastries are on display but maybe they will be eventually since they have a display case?? They offer dishes in glassware if you dine-in and are timely about pushing out orders. Everything about the esthetics here are appealing and minimal. III. QUALITY I ordered an iced, black americano. The roast is dense and acidic ~ something I'd recommend. Also, there was a variety of citrus tonic americanos all over their menu; it must be their specialty and worth a try. IV. CAPACITY This place isn't crowded on weekdays so I highly recommend going during this time to get favorable seating and have a quiet environment to get work/studying done. read more

Common Coffee Uncommon Latte: was smooth and well balanced, with a light orange aroma, silky milk foam, and a gentle espresso presence that isn't overpowering 9/10. Yuzu Matcha Tonic:I wouldn't say it's bad, but the yuzu bitterness overpowered the matcha, giving it more of an herbal drink vibe. Hope they can find the best proportion for most balanced flavor 5/10 Black Sesame Basque: bold, nutty flavor with a deeply caramelized exterior and a soft, creamy center ,rich but not too sweet. 10/10 If you're into aesthetic cafes, specialty lattes, and unique desserts, this spot is worth a visit. read more
The matcha was delicious and the aesthetic was absolutely fire. I loved the all black design of the coffee shop it felt cozy, modern, and super chill. The music set a great vibe, and there were plenty of seating areas to relax, work, or catch up with friends. The tiramisu was on the sweeter side, but it was really good and perfect for anyone craving a sweet treat. Overall, a great spot with a welcoming atmosphere and solid drinks and desserts. read more

One of the coolest and most aesthetically pleasing cafes in Doraville. The drinks are creative and vary from coffee, matcha, refresher type drinks. They also serve miniature desserts. Everything I've tried here has been pretty good and I like the decor inside! Service is friendly and drinks come out quickly. read more
I had to come here and try the little sheep matcha latte and let me tell you it was perfect. So creamy and delicious and has a great tea taste and it's adorable!!! This is such a cute place and I am so happy to know about it because they are open late which I love. My friend tried the buttercream latte and that was delicious too. Their milk has a great texture from the way they foam it and you can tell it's high quality and the baristas are amazing. It's not super big but we were lucky to find a table to sit and read at for a bit! read more

Common Coffee & Cocktails feels like one of those places you step into and immediately slow down. Dark greys. Blacks. Moody lighting. Everything feels intentional from the decor to the way the desserts hit the table. It's clean, minimal, and a little mysterious. The kind of spot that knows exactly what it's doing and doesn't need to explain itself. The menu doesn't play it safe, and I respect that. It leans into curiosity. A cheese latte? Wild. Bold. I didn't go there this time, but I like a place that isn't afraid to experiment. I kept it simple, but thoughtful. The rice latte was the standout. Smooth, comforting, low-key nostalgic it honestly reminded me of Krispy Rice cereal in the best way. That drink had personality. It made me pause and really enjoy the moment. The vanilla latte? Just okay. Not bad, not memorable. Sometimes that happens. But the rice latte more than made up for it. This isn't a work-from-home café. It's busy, lively, and a little loud and that feels intentional. Limited Wi-Fi, lots of conversation, energy in the room. This is a place to link up, sit back, and vibe, not knock out emails. Parking there. Reviews are mixed some people love it, some don't. And honestly, that's usually how you know a place has character. For me, it's worth checking out for yourself. Very aesthetically pleasing coffee shop, there was seating despite being busy. Though I do think their seating isn't very comfy, so not a work from cafe type of place. I go the jasmine matcha latte. And my friend got the jasmine latte. The jasmine latte was good, though the coffee flavor was not strong. I also thought my matcha wasn't very strong. We could really only taste the jasmine and that really overpowered the drink in my opinion. The service here was also not very friendly. We asked about the dessert options and she said clearly we don't have any on display. But I saw people ordering puddings. We all had to ask for a tray to carry the two drinks to the table. Wow!!! I saw that the seasonal earl grey cheesecake was ending but I am so glad that I stopped in to see what they have on rotation. I ended up ordering the pistachio jasmine pudding and it was so smooth and silky. The jasmine flavor really came through and I really enjoyed it. The uncommon latte with the earl grey and orange cream was both beautiful and delicious. The flavors paired nicely and it was really refreshing. As I am writing this I am already feeling FOMO so I will just go ahead and order the yuzu cheesecake to go to enjoy later. Can't wait to come back when I'm back in Georgia to try the different seasonal desserts! read more

Tried the puddings (pistachio green tea and hojicha). The texture was good but the flavor of both puddings was very mild imo. Not worth the price. Service was good. The ambiance of the cafe gave high end vibes. Good place for a date. read more

You know they say Buford Hwy has all the good stuff.... Common coffee and cocktails was a great addition to Buford highway. Let's start with the minimal, clean aesthetic ! I love a minimal coffee shop or retail spot. But the gray stone is perfect! Every drink I've tried, I loved it. But I like this place because I also feel like I'm tapping into a culture outside of mine. Learning what pairs well with coffee and matcha. And the service is always good. They are always super sweet, knowledgeable and patient as they do have an extensive menu! Lol wfh friendly and parking. But I will say this spot gives more of a bring your people to yap over coffee. Everyone is always super engaged. And the menu changes often so try their drinks whenever it's not on the every day menu! read more

So excited to try this cafe and love the minimalistic aesthetic with interesting firntiture pieces. There were many unique drinks and desserts here! We tried the Pear-well, Toasted Rice Latte, Matcha Pudding, and Black Sesame Basque Cheesecake. The flavors were good and enjoyed the Toasted Rice Latte the most. The prices are really reasonable so I definitely want to come back to try the Black Sesame Pudding, Earl Grey Basque Cheesecake, and other drinks. First time here after seeing so much about it online. They have a variety of Coffees and Matcha drinks. I tried their Jasmine matcha latte, iced. The jasmine in this drink overpowers the matcha a bit. It is still a decent drink, but I had higher expectations. Before mixing it, I tried the matcha on top and it was slightly gritty. I am unsure if it is hand whisked or premixed to use for all drinks. The cafe is very well decorated, I liked the vibe here. However, the seating was uncomfortable and did not make it a great "work" cafe. You definitely could not sit here for hours and get work done. The tables are small circles and are too short for you to be comfortable. The service was good though. Friendly and quick staff. This is the best cafe I've been to lately. Their interior is very modern and minimalist, perfect for Instagram pictures. Their drinks are very creative. I tried different lattes today, and I can't wait to be back for more creative cocktails. Highly recommend Pear-well, toasted rice hojicha, and black sesame basque. read more

Honestly so yummy! I am always weary of trying new coffee shops because I just don't believe a lot of shops in the south do coffee justice! Fortunately I'm glad to say that this coffee is yummy and not watered down or burnt! The buttercream latte was delicious, the coffee was a smooth, strong taste and the buttercream part balanced it perfectly. I like that the buttercream was just a little salty , it reminded of cream cheese foam. The Toasted Rice Hojicha Oat Latte was so delicious!!! There is toasted rice bits and they weren't my favorite but I did like the crunch. The hojicha is nice and strong, I'm very picky about my hojicha so I was very happy with this drink. It's very dark in here, very much giving Atlanta filter it was also cloudy when I visited so I don't know if that makes a difference. But my order came out super fast despite it being busy !! I got the Jasmine Salted Cream Latte, it was SO good. Never had tea and coffee together before but will continue because of this drink! Interior is decent. Seats are NOT comfy though - I was doing schoolwork and honestly the tables are too low and the back of the chairs are low-key painful. But to relax with your friends for 30 min or so, it's decent. The reviews on social media looked great, but in reality, I was really disappointed with this visit. The indoor air was not well ventilated, which made the space uncomfortable to stay in. There was no background music, and I didn't experience any customer service or engagement from the staff, making the atmosphere feel cold and unwelcoming. Even though I only ordered two cakes and three drinks, I still had to wait nearly 28 minutes, which felt very slow for such a simple order. The overall operation seemed inefficient. Management appeared disorganized, and several employees were walking around without clear direction, as if they weren't sure what they were supposed to be doing. It gave the impression of poor coordination. Staff should be properly trained and prepared before opening to ensure smoother operations and better service. On top of that, the cake was not fresh and didn't taste like it was made in-house. It felt more like a pre-made product brought in from outside, which was disappointing for a bakery. Overall, this experience did not meet my expectations at all. I hope the store can improve its training, organization, and product quality in the future. read more
