The day before I was to host a house full of people for Thanksgiving my fridge and freezer stopped holding their temps...talk about stressful. I called a few repair shops and nobody could come out until after the holiday. Fortunately my sister told me to call Apple and sure enough a technician arrived about an hour later. He didn't have the parts he needed but immediately called his warehouse and made arrangements to pick up the parts that evening. The following day he came back (on Thanksgiving) and my fridge was back up and running just in the nick of time. Crisis averted! This was an absolute grift to get swindled out of a $60 appointment fee. Temperature sensor error caused my dryer to stop, so I called and explained that it needed to be replaced. Spent $60 on an appointment for the guy to tell me the same thing (that it needed a new temperature sensor). The next day I was told that the part was backordered and would take 2 months to get it, that there might be an additional problem/part that wasn't previously mentioned in the estimate, and their professional recommendation was that I buy a new dryer. I ordered the part (thermistor) on Amazon for $26.49, and it was here in 24 hours and I fixed it the same day myself after watching a YouTube video on how to do it. It runs perfectly now. I needed a Samsung kitchen appliance repaired so I contacted Apple Appliance Repair this past summer. They ordered a $20 part and the waiting game began. By mid-summer it became apparent they didn't have a robust parts supply system in order to get the parts they need. The whole time I waited from June to November they did not contact me even once to provide an update on the order status or timeframe. Nothing. I was happy with Apple Appliance Repair. I called to setup an appointment to repair my 10+ year old dryer that was not heating. They answered the call and asked to coordinate the appointment time via text. Anthony was responsive over text. On the morning of my appointment, they texted me to let me know the tech was on the way, he arrived in the 10AM-1PM window as promised. Atif the tech was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. He did neat, thorough work, and eventually figured out he needed to reset the gas coil and igniter, which shut off because of lots of accumulated lint at the bottom of the dryer underneath the drum. I called Apple Appliance Repair earlier this week for help with our refrigerator. We have a GE cafe, a $5,000 product, and it was broken when we came home from our Thanksgiving trip. Apple Appliance was same day service, and was able to solve the problem. They have a $60 appearance fee, but that fee goes towards the repair if you choose to go with them. All in all the work was around $360 to fix the refrigerator. I think this was a great value considering the original cost of the refrigerator and also compared to buying a new one. We are happy with the refrigerator and glad to have it working again. Apple technicians were also courteous, careful with their shoes in the house, and very polite to me as their customer. read more

Took one star off since the repair man called his supervisor, which wasn't an issue deal but after the supposed repair they did forget to properly put things back correctly so we had to wait an extra weekend to get our dish washer water to run. I called to have my stove repaired and the guy keeps talking about his employees and his techs but I'm pretty sure it's just him. Not by itself a disqualifier but just weird when he keeps calling obviously himself, "we". It's OK if it's a one man show but it makes it really weird if you're pretending it's not. He shows up with no tools and diagnoses a bunch of possibilities and says he's going to order the parts and call me in a few days. But then he never calls. A month later he calls and says he can come by that day and fix it. He glosses over how it's been a month so I ask what happened. He says the parts got delayed. I ask why he didn't just call and tell me that. He sort of apologizes and keeps asking if he can come that day. I said no thanks and repair it myself. read more

The service Tech, whose name was Atif, texted ahead that he was on his way and he arrived a few minutes later. He was a very nice young man, who seemed confident as he sized up the situation, and within 20 minutes the dishwasher was secure again. I had a leaking washer, part of a stackable unit in a former small linen closet. We all know the type, a really tight fit. Paul was supposed to come out but Mohammed did instead. M. could do nothing he said because he could not get the screen driver close to the bolts at the bottom of the washer. He recommended that I make my loads smaller so that I don't risk overflowing my washer. I did that and it continued to leak. I knew it wasn't going to be easy no matter what, but.... The next guys who came out moved the washer out with a dolly and had a helper. It was difficult, no doubt about it, but M. barely made an effort. After 3 weeks of broken oven and dealing with a larger company who came out twice and didn't fix anything I decided to call Apple based on favorable reviews on Google. I called them around 9am they were out at 2pm that same day, called me 30 mins prior to their arrival, and had my oven fixed within 30 mins. They took a coupon which gave me $20 off, but honestly after what I went thru with the other company I was happy to have it fixed and pay full price. My washing machine was spotty in the spin cycle so we called Sears and they couldn't come for days so we searched Yelp and found Apple Appliance Repair. They came out immediately and diagnosed the problem as a faulty switch that tells the washing machine the door is open. This stopped the washing machine. While the repairman was there he mentioned something that would prevent stoves from tipping over if children were to step on the oven door - no pressure to purchase anything. We've used Apple Appliance Repair on several occasions (dishwasher and clothes dryer) and we have been very happy with the work they've performed. They have identified the problem and fixed it on the same day without a need for a return visit. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the repair person didn't plug the drain hole in the back of the freezer before he started defrosting, and some water got under the fridge. Note: The appliance in question is 10 years old and has been broken since I moved into a rental property 2 weeks ago. Also, there is NO WAY that this company's positive reviews are genuine...no way. So, on to the review... I'm a bit taken aback by all of the positive reviews for this place. The technician was friendly enough and presented himself professionally but his standard for quality work seems unsettlingly low! We have a problem with our gas stove where the flame is high on 10, medium on 9, and simmers on 7. The flame then goes out from the low setting all the way up to 6 even though gas still leaks. Clearly there's a problem with the gas delivery. Also, only one of the four igniters works. So, how did the tech fix our problem? He scraped out some carbon from our burners with a safety pin and said that it's working fine now because we can just set the dial to "8" and we get our simmer. Really? That's your idea of a "repair"?!? As he was trying to pack up and get out with that lame excuse for a repair I told him that I expect the stove to work as it was intended to and that I want to be able to set the dial to low and get a simmer, not a slowly expanding cloud of explosive gas. He then got all grumbly about how a gas valve is expensive and this piece would be "extremely rare" and he'll call me back with an estimate in a few days. Meanwhile, I'm thinking: "A gas valve! Yes, that makes sense! Please put a new one in, thanks!" Why did it take him 30 minutes to bring up a gas valve? Also, because the appliance has been in the same spot for the last 10 years it was INCREDIBLY filthy underneath the unit (naturally). After the tech was wrapping up there was a lot of gunk and dirt on the floor from when he pulled the stove away from the wall. He grabbed a paper towel and went about cleaning it all up. I thought to myself, "Hey, that's really nice of him!" Until he just pushed it all back under the oven...Gee, thanks. IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: It wasn't me who called, it was my landlord. I have no problem with them charging a fee to come out because that seems to be the industry standard. I also have no problem with their cost to replace to bad part, it was a ten-year-old stove; of course it would be expensive. Also, I don't want a "cheap way out" because I'm not paying for the repair; I only wanted a properly functioning stove. Whether it's new or repaired makes no difference to me. My problem is with the fact that they tried to leave without properly fixing the appliance. Spending 10 minutes scraping some carbon from a burner and telling me that I just shouldn't use Low through 7 on the knob isn't a repair; it's an insult. I had to tell the guy 3 times that I wouldn't be satisfied unless the stove functioned as the manufacturer intended. Apparently that's too much to ask of Apple Appliance Repair. In the end my landlord just replaced the old one. At least someone knows something about customer service. read more

I have to say I am surprised seeing 5-stars for this place. I would question the validity of those reviews, based on my experience with this bunch. I am only giving one star, and that based on the two technicians, and not the company. I absolutely do not recommend this repair service. We had a coolant leak in the freezer compartment of a bar refrigerator. When we contacted Apple Appliance Repair, a man promptly came out, looked at the freezer and the refrigerator and told us that it was impossible to repair, but they could replace the evaporator section of the freezer. My wife had already investigated online, and saw that a small hole could be fixed by covering the hole with epoxy, creating a vacuum to verify the seal and replacing the Freon. He was sure that this could not work and that the evaporator had to be replaced. He left and said that we would get his quote the next day. When the office called back with the quote TWO days later (after we called to ask when they were calling back), they told us that the evaporator replacement was $389. We told them that was too expensive. When the repairmen came out to fix the problem, they did not understand what they were coming to fix. The arrived, and promptly informed us that they had not brought the correct equipment and that they would have to come back. They thought that they were coming to do welding of some sort, and were totally unaware of the problem. He did tell us that the first man who came was not even a technician, but was instead a salesman. After a few days, the same two came back and applied the epoxy to the few holes. I asked the technicians what this would cost, and was told that it "would not be as much". Very much my mistake for not getting a firmer number. More on that later. After applying the epoxy to the leak, they had to let it set, so his assistant came back in another couple days to do the vacuum-check and Freon fill. The appointment was for 2 to 5, but our technician called about 3 saying that he had been diverted by the main office and one technician would come at 6. When 6:45 came, we called again, and were told the technician was on his way. He got here around 7, and went straight to work. Upon completing the work, he presented me with a bill for the $349! I was aghast, and explained that was the original quote, and obviously that work was not done. The two technicians spent perhaps a total of 45 minutes at our house, used a small amount of epoxy and part of a can of Freon, and installed a valve. When I argued that this was a lot less work than anticipated, I was put in contact with the maintenance supervisor and informed that if I knew how to fix the freezer, we would not be having this conversation, and that I was paying for the expertise of the experts. I managed to convince them to lower the price by 100 dollars, but was told that the owner had set the price (again, this based on the salesman who was not a technician and the fact that they wanted to replace the evaporator). Both repairman who came and actually worked on the refrigerator (Nash and Giovanni) at our house were polite, and very knowledgeable. The first man who came was rude and had no clue what he was doing. It seems that the prices are set by the people in the office who do not know what is going on. Nash and Giovanni are real pros. The rest of the company: not so much. There seems to be absolutely no communication between people. At the end of this mess, we have been told that our bill is based on the one original quote, given when the work was to be quite different. I will never use this company again. UPDATE TO THIS REVIEW: After discussion with Nash, the maintenance supervisor, this matter has been resolved favorably for all parties. I sincerely appreciate his concern and communication. I have used their service in the past and they were very good and courteous. However, this time they got assigned our service call through AHS Warranty. First of all, it took them almost a week to come in and review what was wrong with the appliances. They came in reviewed the problems, took the service fee, told us that we need to order the parts. Then there was no communication for more than 4 weeks. After numerous emails and phone calls, they finally said - some of your parts are here and we can come in to fix some but not all. We said fine and scheduled the appointment. The guy never showed up, without any notice. So, we ended up calling again to check what was happening... the guy gave us all sorts of reasons and said I'll come in the next day between a certain time. Again, the guy did not show up, but did call us to let us know that he is not showing up and shall show up a later time the same day. Again... no show. After follow up, the same old story and promise of showing up the next day. He did the same thing again and this time when my wife asked him for a specific time, the guy was very rude and asked my wife why is she asking all these questions... "does she work". Inspite of all this, he was scheduled to come in this morning between 8 and 10 first, then 11 and 1, then 1 and 3 and then just some time back he called and said he'll show up at 3 pm. I called him to confirm about his 3 pm, when we had a few words I was told by the guy I should look for other technician. So, it has been a month and a day when they first came out to our house and the ONLY thing that has been done is they have charged us the service fee... with no appliance been fixed, YET! I hope they understand that they are not the ONLY technicians in this area. read more

The tech made the correct diagnosis but was unable to give me any info about what would happen next. He just said I would hear from the office in the next couple days. I never heard from them. I called and was told "I'll call you back in 5 min" but that was over 2 weeks ago. Called again today, "I'll call you back in 2 min" but that was hours ago.
