What a fantastic dining experience! It started with our friendly, vivacious and professional server Kristy Y. Her recommendations were 100% right on. The cauliflower appetizer was unbeatable, I have never had better. Kristy informed us of the "happy hour" in the bar and the special Burger night, usually $18.00 but on Tuesdays $12.00 for the same meal. The burgers are delicious. Juicy, meaty and served with grilled onions, a side salad or fries and 3 large fried onion rings. The brioche bun is soft and flavorful and hearty enough to hold the burger without falling apart. The drinks are delicious. We may make Tuesday our Community Table go to...ask for Kristy for the added upbeat experience dining out should always be...cheers! read more

I was so excited to try this new spot near home and it did NOT disappoint. We first stopped in on a Friday afternoon/evening for happy hour - I LOVE that they have a different happy hour special every day, talk about a great reason to come in regularly! Friday's special was a $7 Philly Cheesesteak - it was fantastic; I am no cheesesteak connoisseur but I was very impressed by the tender flavorful steak topped with melty provolone. We also shared the Community Fries which were a super unique take on french fries, topped with Alabama sauce, ketchup, feta cheese and herbs; they were beautifully drizzled and packed with flavor in every bite. On top of those delicious food items, we enjoyed a few happy hour beverages - the prices were fantastic, we started with a super affordable Paloma & Old Fashioned and then moved over the $5 happy hour wine. We enjoyed our seats on the patio with the unseasonably warm January temperature. The service was exceptional and friendly... we just couldn't wait to go back. Which meant, two days later we were back for Sunday brunch! I think it is absolutely genius that Community Table has brunch every day - I don't know why I haven't seen any other restaurant offering that! This time we sat inside and got to really take in the attention to detail that Community Table has taken. The eclectic but comfortable environment hits every mark; I especially love the silverware nestled in an oyster shell at every seat. Brunch was fantastic - we enjoyed the BLT Breakfast Sandwich, served on pillowy brioche and the Steak & Eggs. Can't think of one negative thing I experienced while here. Everything was phenomenal. The restaurant is located in this nice little neighborhood off the main road. It gives a nice summer town feel with the area it's in. The decor of the entire place is warm and very cozy southern in terms of the vibe. Probably the best service I've had while I was in Charleston. For the appetizers we got the spicy mussels which were fantastic. Main course was the pork osso busco which was out of this world. Tender and juicy each bite was like heaven on earth. I got the hangar steak which was a 10/10. This was easily the top restaurant that we went to in terms of overall food quality, cocktails, and service. read more

Top of the hill! Get a reservation in advance! I just moved from NY and this place by far has some of the best food I have eaten. Every time we have taken friends that are visiting, family and just a night out...consistently the best service and food. Atmosphere is great. I have started to bring business meetings to this Establishment and my customers text me weeks later saying they brought there family and they loved it. It was so good, we went back 2 nights in a row. Simply put, this place is delicious. First night we ordered from the starters menu only. Bibb lettuce salad, scallops and risotto, octopus (twice) and the cast iron shrimp. Second night we ordered the beet salad, Bibb lettuce salad (again), braised short rib and halibut in a coconut broth. OMG!! So good! Desert was zabaglione each night. Well worth the wait! Every dish was out of this world. Minimalist dishes with complex flavors that compliment individual part of each dish. The flavors of were amazing. Subtle but present. The last couple of times we've been there, something has been "off". The burgers aren't nearly as good as they used to be. The onion rings have changed and are not as good as the old ones. Five starts for their burger and ambiance. I think it's actually the blend of ground meat they use that makes this burger taste so good. We hosted a private Surprise Engagement Party at CT and it was amazing! Ashley and her staff did an incredible job of staying in touch with me and doing a lot of special touches to make this event even more special. The greenery and flowers on the stationery display of appetizers was such a nice touch! Ashley was absolutely THE BEST to have work with! After contacting several venues and not getting any response or only a full dinner option, it was awesome that Ashley was VERY responsive and willing to work with us to help our event to be what the future groom envisioned for his new fiancé. The night of the event the staff was very easy to work with and wanting to do extras to make our event smooth and fun for everyone. Now I know why this is my son and his future bride's absolute favorite restaurant! It is mine, too, now! Highly recommend!!! read more

I went here for a nice dinner with my family tonight and the service was just unacceptable. I was waiting on my food for a little over two hours and when i asked to speak with the manager he was SO rude. he was not helpful at all. I used to work in the restaurant business so i have a lot of sympathy for restaurants especially on busy nights like Friday and Saturday but this was so ridiculous and I couldn't believe the way the manager spoke to us. I don't recommend going here, the service is terrible and not welcoming or friendly at all. if i could give 0 stars i would!!! read more

This spot is super cute and inviting! The outside patio is gorgeous and plenty of seating. We unfortunately may have just gone on a bad day. The waitress that we had seemed unhappy that we were only there for a snack and not a large bill meal. When she brought our food out, she didn't ask if we needed anything for the hamburger like mustard, mayonnaise... The hamburger was over cooked and my 4 year olds food was burnt and the waitress was no where to be seen. She never came back to ask us if we needed anything or how it was. After waiting around forever I had to finally go ask the hostess for where she was and asked her for our bill. The waitress never came with our bill, instead she had another waitress bring it to us. We went here last night 9/21/23 around 7:40p for dinner. We were so disappointed this was one of our top places on our list of restaurants to go to every year unfortunately after last night we won't go back. We order 2 starters and 2 entrees. We were so hungry the food was edible but the starters were over salted and nothing special. The pork was tough and barely warm and the lamb Raghu was watered down bland and cold. After ordering drinks and a appetizer my girlfriend realized she wasn't ready to be out yet but felt bad not ordering dinner. After asking for our check our server Marisa not only said she completely understood, she took care of us with sincerity and gave us dessert on our way to make sure she had something to eat. The little bit we did eat was amazing but the sincerity and caring given to us by the hostess and waitress was above and beyond. We will definitely be going back once she feels ready. Very mixed experience here. Our server was awesome and very friendly, the food was great. My burger was so juicy! But unfortunately we will likely never come back due to the rude manager. We arrived at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon with a party of four. The manager was the first to see us and asked if we had a reservation. We said we did not and he rolled his eyes and sighed "let me see if we can seat you". Mind you, there wasn't a single person in the restaurant. Every single table was empty. I understand how reservations work and that they get priority, but it was his attitude like we were unwelcome. He said that he had a table with a 7:00 reservation that he MAY be able to give us. It's 4:30! If you can't serve us in 2.5 hours, you have other issues. We finished eating and walked out the door by 5:30. And guess what, the entire dining room was still completely empty. Not a single guest came in that time. I just find it shocking that they wouldn't want to make an extra $80 before their rush came in. Next time we will just go somewhere less snooty. read more

Before I list the negatives, I have to say that the staff we dealt with were really nice. So this review is specifically about the food, logistics, and experience. No one was rude or unpleasant to us in any way. In a nutshell: we reserved a table about a week prior and asked if they were able to accommodate food allergies. The person on the phone, who was really pleasant, said that was their specialty - accommodating special diets. She noted our food intolerances and said she would add the notes to the reservation. Fast forward to our dinner. We told the server that the hostess had already spoken to the chef about our dinners that evening and that the notes were in the reservation. Our server, who was really sweet, said there were no notes. So we started from scratch and pieced together some dishes. The server returned after a few minutes to inform us that those items weren't available. So we chose something else. A few minutes later, she came back with the same news. After 7 (yes, seven) attempts to order, we felt so bad for our server that we just basically ordered anything at that point. We were so hungry! An hour and a half after being seated, we still hadn't gotten our entrees. When the food finally came, it was average (that's the nicest thing to say about it). Maybe it was a bad night for them or something. Anyway, the experience, besides being frustrating, was almost comical. This is one of the loudest restaurants in the town. It's a pleasure to walk out that door, after your meal, just so you can actually hear. I'm talking deafening. Why do restaurants let this happen? Better acoustics is all it requires. Spend some of the money that we pay in there, and make things softer. The prices are absurd, and the service is mediocre. Our orders apparently got mixed up with another table, so we had to send a lot back. There were six of us. By he time we got the correct food, it was all cold. Hope I never go back. Popped in for a quick late lunch (1:30 pm) so no wait for a table! Attentive servers and great, friendly service. This looks like an awesome happy hour or brunch spot- and they serve brunch every day! Looks like they have happy hour food specials every day- today was Taco Tuesday! I had the little Jem salad with tomatoes and watermelon radish. The salad was fresh and delicious and the dressing was flavorful. Fries are served on top of the salad- not sure why and never seen that before- but I'm here for it!!! I always want fries and these were yummy! My husband got the salmon tacos. Said the fish was delicious! The tacos were more of an open face style. I loved that they brought the tea for one with a bottle so they I didn't have to annoy the server with constant refills- they did the same for water. A small but nice Touch IF you are a "heavy drinker" like me! The way that they put the silver on the oyster shells to keep it off of the table was cute! I'm going to steal that idea! We were looking forward to having brunch on Sunday; six of us were told we could not sit outside as those tables were reserved. Turns out they remained empty, and the noise inside was deafening. We waited one hour for our food to be served. When it came two of the meals were cold, and the french toast was nothing more than toasted bread covered in syrup. We asked for salt and pepper and it was never delivered. Waitress was not around so that we could ask for anything! Bill came and it was $92.00 - we left her a tip (wish we hadn't). They were really busy and Kelly was amazing at managing seating, communicating about wait, etc but then she was in the back for awhile and things kinda fell apart. We were waiting on our table next and no one on the floor seemed to know who was keeping the book, etc. The server we asked was curt and told us "a lot of people were waiting on tables" when we asked. When we finally got seated, the gentleman who ended up waiting on us was super nice and apologetic for the wait. His great attitude definitely made up for it. The popovers were a delight. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened, looked really cute on Instagram. Was a little worry when I called to see about the brunch wait and there wasn't....and then we got here and there were only a few other tables of people. But the ambiance is great. We sat on their cute patio but the inside is even cuter. The food ended up being great! Loved my basil lemonade! The chicken and waffles is now one of our favorites.
