I'm a thrifter. I love thrifting. I love finding treasures, recognizing vintage designer goods and discovering diamond-in-the-rough decor that can be tweaked into a fabulous addition to my home for bargain basement prices. And it benefits charity! (In this case, AmVets.) I've had a rough time finding great thrift stores in Orlando besides Goodwill which is REALLY hit or miss and is often extremely picked over. I've found a great thrift store in Community Thrift. I always feel a little bit of a thrill when I walk in, because I know there's a good chance I'll find a treasure here. They have great decor and furniture. I do have a few gripes. The merchandise is extremely overpriced for the most part and the tags are often hard to read. Lower your pricing structure and I'd buy so, so much more. The worst part about this store is that it only accepts cash. I know I can't be the only person that rarely carries cash. It's on my way home from the office, so I love stopping after work for a quick run through but I'm not about to stop at the ATM to take out cash when I don't even know if I'm going to buy something. read more

This place was great but totally overwhelming because I went on a Saturday when everything is an additional 10% off! They were PACKED. Great selection though and a lot to look at. Everything is priced differently, not standardized like Goodwill or Salvation Army, by item type. Some of it is over priced because if this but you can also find some great deals if you're looking. Definitely a fun place to hunt for bargains if you have the time and don't mind dealing with the crowd. I recommend wearing clothes you can try stuff on over (like leggings and a tank) as they only have two dressing rooms and only allow you to try on things priced at $5 or more. read more

CASH ONLY! But they do have an ATM in the store. I'd love to talk to the person that decides the prices. There's no rhyme nor reason how things are priced. As others have mentioned, they have a ridiculous policy for their fitting rooms. I've left clothes behind when I couldn't try them on! And they have a no refund, no return, no exchange policy! The negatives vastly outweigh the positives when it comes to clothes shopping at Community Thrift. The fitting room rules, which permit you to try things on only when an item costs more than a certain price, are preposterous. Add to that the inconvenient "cash only" requirement and a rude staff, and it boggles my mind why anyone would shop for clothes in a place like this when the Goodwills in the area have flat, consistent prices, plenty of fitting rooms, and accept credit and debit cards. If you want furniture, knicknacks or appliances, no harm in looking here, though. They have a lot of it. read more

Found some pretty good stuff but I didn't end up buying any of it because you can only try stuff on if it's over $7 which was weird to me so I walked away with stuff I could try on in the aisles. Prices were kind of high for some stuff that I would never pay close to that much for something in that condition. Very packed and customers were rude. This store is way overpriced for it's used clothes. 8.98 for a faded shirt. Very long lines. They price everything based on ebay prices. Not what the items actually sold for on ebay. But, what buyers are asking for said items. You can get the exact same items for cheaper online. They were selling a belt buckle for 79.99. You could buy the same belt buckle for 34.99 new online. read more

I absolutely LOVE this thrift store BUT the prison-style fitting room and cashier policies make them lose a star :(. They are too ridiculous to outline, so if you go, prepare to be frustrated with the limited fitting room policies (you can only try on items above $4.94 with sensors) and the requirement to lock your purse in a lock box attached to the outside of your door. Who on earth thinks of this ridiculousness!?! Now that that's out of the way, remember, I LOVE this store. L.O.V.E! Never in my life have I seen such a steady influx of designer, expensive items sold, for the most part, at amazing, low prices. Every now and then, you see something way over-priced, but that is the exception, not the rule. This community must seriously be loaded! They get rid of the best things, particularly clothing and footwear. Wednesdays are particularly excellent because you get 66% off the weekly tag colored items from $1.91-$3.93. I spent $92 today and left with 42 like-new designer clothing items! This is seriously the best inventory of any thrift store I have frequented in all my 43 years. And, It's always like that, at least for the last 6 years or so it has been! read more

sorry but these folks think they are the tiffanys of thrift. crazy high prices. $895. for a used couch, $16. for a used book. so not worth it. the shoes are high priced, way beyond what they are worth, the music is always blaring and horrific, cookware is beat up and priced just a little below new prices. jewelry is beyond high priced for what it is-imported junk. I go in there every other month and almost always walk out with nothing and shaking my head. they are ripping off the very people who need a break. shame on them! read more

At one time this was the place to go for good quality item at reasonable prices. For some reason a manager/owner took over and prices went up often times surpassing the price at retail stores. I can't understand how "donated items' can be so overpriced to the point of being ridiculous. Get real and start getting the prices where they belong so the ones who can't afford high price stores have a place to shop. Being a supposed AM VETS there is no prices different for the VETERANS- WHY??? I'll be the first to tell you that if you don't like that authentic thrift store experience (along with that authentic thrift store smell) don't go here. This thrift store is the real thing. Along with Thriftko in Casselberry this is one of the best thrift stores in town. This one is a well-kept secret. Lots of variety and lots of turnover; it gets busy so if you find something you like, grab it fast. Very organized, they have a bunch of employees running around at all times keeping stuff neat. The highlights: great jewelry selection, great vinyl selection for a couple of bucks each (albums I scored here include The Rocky Soundtrack and a scratchfree copy of Thriller!) Also, tons of clothes in great condition, including professional attire that I wore to the office. Their Wednesday three-for-one sale is quite popular and rightly so! I went there one Wednesday before they opened and there was a line. NOTE - Cash Only!! There is a credit union ATM you can walk to if you forget. Happy hunting! read more
