I've left messages in person in the office, email, voicemail and with the staff on the phone. 4 weeks of trying to reach her or get her to call me and nothing!!! She owes me a $175 refund and is avoiding me. This is ridiculous! I had my initial eye exam April 17, 2025 and did not receive the correct lenses until June 25,2025. Twice they were made wrong. Just this alone is reason enough to avoid this place, but her lack of ethics and no customer care makes this one of the worst places I've done business with. When I ask the ladies in the office who owns this place they won't give me their info and say Leti is the manager...and she handles customer service issues. Well who holds Leti accountable if the owners can't be contacted? Well I hope they read it here. Stay away from this place! Take your hard earned money elsewhere! Dr Acton is great. Very friendly and personable. I would get price quotes before you receive services though. After my contact lens appointment I asked how much the contacts would cost. The receptionist quoted me $77 per box which is about $25 over retail. So when I declined contacts the receptions said if I declined I forfeit my allowance towards my contact evaluation. Turns out after talking to my insurance, the company overcharges their clients for contacts fittings. Long story short I wanted to give this place a try but they are just too expensive and in my opinion they inflate prices for contacts. I've never had to pay what they're asking for contacts. This is by far the most thorough visit I've ever had at an eye doctor. It's no wonder I've had issues with my glasses in the past. I just took my 6 year old daughter to Dr. Ner, based on my Mom's HIGH recommendations throughout the years, as my daughter wears glasses but has been experiencing daily headaches for over a month. I would give this establishment a 0 if possible. Terrible service and lack of accountability. Ordered glasses in early October...yes they received payment in Oct. from my insurance plan and the upcharge of my choice of product from me on my CRC. Here we are in January...and no product, no call, no return calls to repeated inquiries, no refunds...nada....zip and cancelled out. While they will not admit it I do believe they have misplaced by paid for in advance product and are trying to shirk responsibility. News at 11 as I have contacted the insurance provider and filed a grievance. Bear in mind this is a 2020 matter so even if they refund monies to the insurance and me I have no ability to use that 2020 funds as it is now 2021. Stay clear...and find a real provider. read more

I am sad to see such low ratings. I came here initially 2 years ago when I was living in Ventura County. At the time I was having a very hard time financially and was without medical insurance. I called around to some places in complete financial desperation to see who could help me for the least amount of money. I was assisted by a very helpful woman on the phone and she gave me an affordable price to have an exam for a contacts fitting and prescription. Dr. Collins was great and had me in and out and placed an order for my contacts. As mentioned before, I was so broke that I went as far as to price contacts online while waiting for my order to be processed. I found that I could get them for considerably less this way and called the office to have them send the prescription order. The same woman that I talked to before told me that she'd match the online price. I have moved since; First to Canoga Park and now I'm in Koreatown - I will continue to come here because of how humble and willing they were to help me when I was in need. Not once did they make me feel ashamed or pathetic for being so cheap. As an expression of my appreciation, I even made cupcakes for the office and brought them in :) I wanted to do all I could to show my gratitude, this staff is incredible and it bums me out to see such low reviews for them. It hurts to put 1 star because I loved my Doctor; but the staff was pretty lame. There was only one lady who actually helped me and even then she wasn't very professional. No one welcomed me when I walked in and I had to figure out what to do (i.e. sign in) by looking around until someone saw me touch the clipboard -- sorry but when there are 4 of you working and not one stops chatting to welcome the client and guide them, that is ridiculous. Another time, one of the younger girls had a very disrespectful tone with one of the customers and was actually arguing with her. I don't really care if the customer is being rude to you, that is still bad customer service. Then when I was looking for glasses, I would ask to try on a pair and she would pull it out for me and simply walk away. I had to track her down just to get a price every time! Stay with your customer and HELP them, that is what you are there for. This review is long because I am hoping the Doctors there will read it and it will help them get control over their staff. It is going to hurt their client-base if people have to walk in to this type of atmosphere. Hopefully I don't have to return anytime soon and can get a new Doctor next year! read more

. The doctors are really friendly, smart, and approachable. It is unfortunate that I cannot say the same about the staff. The last time I was in the office was 2 years ago, so hopefully there has been a change in staff. I would walk in the office and be unnoticed for several minutes. I wouldn't get a call if my prescription was filled. And when I actually told them I never received a phone call from anyone, one of the ladies there said "well, I know that I called you...did you check your phone?". The only reason why I am leaving this 3 star review is because after the rude response, I immediately found a new eye care office. This office sends me texts reminding me to go in for a checkup (which reminded me I needed to review this office), has a friendly staff who will explain my health care coverage. BEST EYE EXAM I'VE EVER HAD!! This was my first time here after years of going to West Hills Walmart, and others, for an eye check. My vision is the clearest its been in years! The doctor did such an in depth check, she also found out I have mild cataracs!! The one thing they need to work on is, their glasses prices are excessive! I've been going to Community Vision Optometric Center for several years! Dr Gracie Ner O.D. takes the time to explain conditions in a way I can understand. I value that, as one of my eyes has a stigmatism that has changed over time. She's also very thorough at getting my contacts or glasses prescription just right! The staff is friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. The service is prompt; my contacts arrived two days after they were ordered! Mona, even credited my account with something from two years ago! Save your money, DO NOT GO HERE! This place cost my family around $500 through the course of 2 years. It's not that they are not nice people BUT THEY JUST DO NOT LISTEN! My wife works on a computer all day and told them she needed glasses specifically for that purpose. They made her a regular pair that did not work. They tried again and made her the same exact pair. Our insurance only covered one remake and they pretty much told her "sorry about that". She was never able to use them. $250 in the garbage. When I went in I gave them the specs for the glasses I needed, when I got them they were wrong. The second lady called my old optometrist and got the specs from them which I had already given them and they did get it right the second time. When my prescription changed I went back to them for a new pair. I have to say that I did like the Dr. I made the mistake of saying I wanted them without the progressions. That was just before closing. I realized my mistake and went in the next morning when they opened and told the girl working that I did want the progressions. She said she would let the lab know. Incidentally this is the same girl that got my script wrong 2 years before. I got a call at about 4 that afternoon from another person that worked there asking if I wanted to change my prescription. I said yes and she informed me that the lab is probably already closed and it might be too late to stop it. I said, "THATS WHY I CAME IN WHEN YOU OPENED!" She called me back at around 4pm the next day, 30 hours after I went in to stop them from being made and she told me it was too late. They could have done right by me but it was essentially " too bad so sad". Another $250 in the trash for a total of $500. read more

This place is fantastic. The staff was incredibly helpful and sweet. They answered every question I had as well as had patience for my picky nature with choosing glasses. Wendy was helpful by explaining the prices, insurance, and payment options. Friendly and knowledgeable. The Doctor explained things to me I never knew before, and helped fix my prescription another place got wrong. They even went on the phone and called my insurance for me to fix problems someone else had done - they didn't need to do this. I won't go anywhere else, as this is the place for me. I rate Dr. Gracie Ner 5 stars. Shes the best doctor that our family have found here in Simi for our eyecare --eye exam to dilation that was never explained to us in details before, eyeglasses and contacts fitting. Shes very thorough, kind and very professional. We felt very confortable with her, not rushing unlike most of the doctors around. With regards to the staff, we found Lettty, the office manager very rude and unprofessional. In my case, she has agreed matching my contact lenses price with Costco as they were charging double per box as I already notified my insurance about that concern---the following day I came back, she said she still has to ask, after already saying Yes to me the day before. I dont like dealing with unprofessional people like that. Then when I was finalizing my order with Mona days later, Letty put the multi focal contact lenses for my order which is $90 per box, instead of the Biofinity that was in my prescription that is only $63 per box. Mona is very nice and she fixed that mess for me. And btw, the Biofinity is only $33 per box at Costco, which of course you also have the option to just buy it directly from Costco if you dont wanna deal with Letty. Thats a lot of savings too! My husband who hardly complains about anything, also noticed Letty's bad attitude. She replied to his inquiry in a very rude manner. She's also very loud and very stressful to deal with. She's like a whirlwind! My advise is to deal with Mona or Wendy. They are very nice and professional. If you want to avoid Letty, do not go there on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I went in today to get glasses to replace mine that were stolen. The staff was too busy talking to each other when I walked in that I had to sit there for 10 minutes before anyone even said a word to me. The doctor was super friendly and helpful, but the staff was rude and unhelpful. After paying for and getting my glasses, I got several calls saying that I still owed money. They claimed that my insurance did not cover the rest which is bulls**t. the day of my appointment they sat there and checked and told me that my insurance was approved. Then days later they change their mind? On top of that, the new prescription is wrong. The new glasses I paid for are completely unusable. I'm very disappointed and do not want to return. read more

While I have never had an issue with either doctor in this office, it is impossible to ignore how AWFUL the staff. Every staff member has been rude to me (both while speaking to me and in their body language). I have never given cause for this treatment; never argued with the staff, or anything of the sort. Given that a patient spends more time with (and deals with) the staff more than the doctor, I have to give them one star. Although there are only 3 other reviews here that mention the horrible staff, I hope the doctors realize that there are a lot of people that will not speak up. Us 4 speak for a ton of people negatively affected by the staff in this office, my family of 5 included. After my experience today simply picking up one contact, I have decided to never return to this office. read more

Took my teenager here. Great staff ! The staff are very knowledgeable with Vision insurance. Doctor was very professional. She took her time to explain things and made sure my son's lens fitting , vision and eyeglasses are comfortable for him. They even did a follow up eye exam ( after a week or two ) at no charge to make sure my son's contact lenses and eyeglasses are ok. Eye exam cost same as Costco. Great variety of eyeglass frames to choose from. They will also match costco's pricing. read more

I'm giving 3 stars because I'd hate to see the dr lose all credibibilty when she's pretty great. The staff needs some serious training...both in procedure and professionalism. They seem like nice girls but they just don't show enough professionalism and when it's your eyes you're talking about...you're going to go somewhere that you have confidence they know what they're doing. I do hope the doctor reads this but I think what they need is a really good office manager who can teach the girls how they're supposed to act with customers. They're young and just need some leadership. My experience with recently included calling to re-fill my contacts and being told that I needed an exam but then a few days later they called to tell me I could pick up my contacts. They didn't even know if my prescription had changed since I hadn't come to my appointment yet. Honest mistake but it was the giggling and lack of owning up to the mistake. It all turned out fine. They've always been pretty good about matching prices but yes, they upsell...it's thier job. They just need to do it with a little more skill. :) read more

I paid about $240. for glasses for my wife who only has vision in one eye. The frames came apart (Not broken) in 8 months. The frames had been discontinued in which we hadn't been told. Community wanted at least $85 to grind these lenses to fit into a new frame style. Too much for glasses less than a year old! Ditto on Amy's perception of the Staff. read more
