I ran over to Murata Eyecare and explained my situation. I did not have an appointment yet Dr Murata and his staff managed to squeeze me in. He drained the stye and prescribed some antibiotic drops. He checked to make sure my eye was not infected and gave me a follow up appointment in one week. My eye felt 100% better after leaving there. I simply love Dr Murata. He is thorough, knowledgeable, and really cares about his patients.

Despite me insisting when I made the appointment that they check that my insurance was actually accepted (and me insisting to check the Insurance name and ID number), they said it wasn't necessary as they already found me in their computer system. However, after the eye exam and when it was time to try on glasses they had me under the wrong insurance (and an insurance I am no longer on). Thus, essentially nothing was covered and I was left without new glasses. Despite my protestations, they chalked this up as "mistakes happen." However, I am a client and a patient whose time and money is just as valuable as theirs. I had to use my precious and valuable sick time to make and keep this appointment and yet I received nothing from it. I have to now take more time off and find a new optometrist and get new lenses/frames elsewhere. This could all have been avoided if they simply listened while making the appointment and checked the insurance information I had wanted to give them. While I appreciate that they gave me my updated prescription, this does not negate the careless regard to checking insurance nor does it negate the disregard afforded to me as a patient. I would highly recommend that if you do make an appointment with this place that you insist that they confirm they have your correct insurance information. I am very frustrated and disappointed by this business.

I got a new prescription and I realized about 5 months later that the reason I couldn't see my computer at work is because of my new prescription. I looked at her prescription and she had my OLD prescription!! I was so annoyed that I went that long not being able to see. I called and asked them to simply write me a script with my OLD prescription and explained why. They told me they would have to charge me $40 to simply write me my original prescription?!?! I said "really?! You guys got my prescription wrong and I have to pay to put it back?! She said yes because it had been past 30 days. I explained to her my situation and honestly, regardless- you got my prescription WRONG! That is a fair reason to fix it. I wasn't asking for another exam- just simply renew my old original prescription. Let's not forget the money I spent on new glasses with that bad prescription and I wasn't asking for that back. I just wanted my old prescription renewed. They refused. That alone shows me they do not care to correct their mistake. They only care about making money. A piece of paper does not cost $40! I'll take my business back to Target. Both the Moorpark and Simi locations are fantastic and have great customer service! I only came here because my medical covers the exam. I would rather pay for my prescription then have it done WRONG- spend $500 on new glasses and then be told they won't fix it for me with a piece of paper that takes 30 seconds to write. No thanks. I've Had my final bad experience with that staff of ladies. Ordered new eye wear frames that they advised would be what I was looking for. The test was when I received my new eyeglasses seem to fit just right until I attempted to use my eyewear that was very costly Frame with eye proscription did not measure up. My proscription is for distance and lower portion for reading. I had to lift up head to use the reading part of the RX while am working on a computer screen which gives me neck ache that can over time cause more damage. After speaking with the staff (woman) who answers the phone which could be 1 of 3 staff employees told me they would not exchange the frame and the dimensions they used were only slightly off from what I requested. The option she provides to make this horrific eyewear experience right was to just refund the amount and the manner tone she gave was firm and not pleasant and would have to come in office within 4 days. A refund was not the answer to my problem I just needed it fix and not to my expense. Other option was they can raise the reading portion of the proscription they I'll be then dealing with my distance which is a driving motor vehicle issues since I need that for distance. This is poor experience and will have to cease from this establishment/business with them if they cannot fix and order me the frame but they will not exchange the frames out in any event. Am guessing they don't care if a customer is dissatisfied even when it's not that consumer fault. Even though the web site says and I quote "We take pride in making sure our patients are fully satisfied with the services we provide" is a false statement on their part. Good luck.
