Classic comfort with a hint of natural history charm. The hotel is successful in setting up a beaux artsy ambience. I enjoyed the cabinet of rarities and curiosities in the lobby. Amazing service staff. The rooms have great big windows. My room was a little cheaper and smaller. I saw the other rooms and observed that the slightly larger rooms are worth it if you can afford it.

Stains on the couch. Stains (although minor) on upholstery seem like a regular occurrence at this hotel, having stayed here many times.

Stayed last weekend for what's become an annual (off-season) trip and after reading some of the more recent reviews, I'd prepared myself for a not-so-great experience, but I was pleasantly surprised. Although the staff seemed to struggle a little bit (maybe more training??) my room was clean, got checked in a little early, was given late checkout, and really there was no incident. Actually updated my review from last year from three stars to four stars. There were still a couple stains in the couch that shouldn't be there but other than that the room was clean and welcoming--they even removed that awful fake orchid! If you're looking for a hotel experience in Ashland, this is still a great option. They do need to update their website though--most of the details for the rooms (regular details, not part of a special, and not on the third-party booker) note that breakfast is complementary, and the cancellation/modification policy seems inconsistent. I did call the hotel about that before my stay and they added a voucher, and when I got to the hotel they said typically it's $5, which honestly isn't that bad for what you get. I could tell the breakfast experience varied widely if you were there when they were out of things, versus if they had just restocked. It really seemed like there was only one employee working on breakfast, but when it was there it was pretty good. Hopefully the new management company will work on training, cleaning up some of the loose ends, and it will be an even better stay next year.

Lovely room, friendly staff, perfect location for walking to everything. The lobby was lovely and has cases of interesting shells, birds, and other museum quality items.

Absolutely loved this hotel! It's almost 100 years old-so much history there-and they've remodeled it beautifully while keeping its original charm. They have an onsite restaurant called Larks that looked wonderful and the complimentary buffet breakfast included with our stay was delicious. The hotel is located downtown with easy access to everything. The room was so nice and the beds really comfortable. This would always be my first choice if staying in Ashland.

Great place, great service. If you are considering staying in Ashland this is a great place to stay. Walking distance to the theater, parks, downtown shops and several restaurants. Nice continental breakfast as well. Seriously no complaints would stay here again. Nice gated parking.

Interesting natural collections in the lobby.

Historical, beautiful old hotel, that's lovingly cared for. Ample private parking in the back with walk in capability to the third floor. Pet friendly and clean. Small but sufficient rooms with a mini fridge and renovated bathroom. We had a pretty street view, There's an excellent restaurant(Lark) attached, but it's closed on Mondays. Continental breakfast is served on the second floor. We had omelets, potatoes, oatmeal, cereals, yogurt, bread available and excellent coffee. The hotel is in a prime location to walk around the town and go to the theater.

Beautiful old world hotel, and the staff like Craig, Niki and Betty were wonderful! The breakfast was sad and not good.

There is no onsite staff, so you need to make sure you've received your welcome email which contains the door codes to enter. The room was elegant, with very high ceilings, completely decorated in the victorian style with lovely antique furniture, photos, and decor (old oil lamps etc.). The decoration was completely tasteful and not cluttered. Each morning, there is hot coffee prepared in the sitting room, which has a large table, lots of board games, and some comfy couches and chairs to sit in. My partner and I had an easy time doing a few hours of work each day in this room. The internet was fast and reliable. The hotel is very private, with no front desk staff and very few other guests, but there is someone on hand via phone or text, and they are able to get to the hotel within a few minutes to help with anything you need! They use a great platform for managing the reservation, where you can very easily purchase a 1pm late check out (for $25) - that came in very handy when we realized in the morning that we weren't going to be ready to leave at 11am! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It has a huge Willow Tree in front, a pond with ducks, a gazebo with a beautiful garden area and pond with fish, and is just so well done. We watched deer in the morning while we ate our breakfast! Lisa was so nice and took good care of us! Cookies when we arrived, a handwritten note, truffles in our room. Super friendly and helpful when we arrived. Every detail was so wonderful. There is a pool also but it was closed due to the weather being too cold but I'm sure it's amazing in the summer. Parking is good also. The inn is not too far from downtown and they offer a delicious breakfast as well. We had apple cider crème brûlée and sweet potato hash with chicken apple sausage. Good coffee too! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back to this lovely and charming place!

Unfortunately, Lithia Resort chose not to respond at all. During our two-night stay, the entire hotel lost water at approximately 10:00 PM, and it wasn't restored until around 6:30 the following morning. This wasn't a minor inconvenience. My daughter was in the middle of a shower with soap all over her body and had no way to rinse off except with bottled water. We couldn't flush the toilet in our room for the entire night and had no choice but to continue using it. It made for an incredibly unpleasant and unsanitary experience. Things happen. I understand that. Hotels can't always prevent emergencies. What matters is how they respond. When we checked out the next morning, the manager acknowledged the situation and told us they would be applying a discount to our stay. That never happened. After returning home, I sent a courteous email to the hotel explaining what happened and simply requested that they refund the one night that was affected. I wasn't asking for both nights. I thought that was a fair and reasonable request given that one of the most basic services a hotel provides, running water, was unavailable for nearly nine hours. They never responded. No refund. No discount. No apology. Not even the courtesy of a reply. The complete lack of communication is honestly more disappointing than the water outage itself. Problems happen. Ignoring your guests after promising to make things right is a choice. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend staying in a different hotel when visiting Ashland.
