THE SETUP * Yelp Deal: the rate on Wed night was $49.99. But the check-in offer on Yelp discounts it 10% down to $44.99. PROS * On the main drag - convenience, access to lots of gas, stores, shopping. * Centrally located to all my stops in the Rogue River Valley community cities of Ashland, Medford and Jacksonville. * Basic amenities such as TV, fridge, decent bathroom, comfy bed CONS * Again, on the main drag - noise, trucks, busy. ;) * Room had residual smell of smoke - not heavy, but definitely noticeable * No accessible ice machine - had to go to front desk everytime and get a baggie of ice MY PERSONAL TAKEAWAYS Okay for me, as a single male, just looking for a place to clean up and crash, but I would not bring a female friend to this spot - be a great way to lose "respect-points" if you force her to stay there too. And because of the other "patrons" at this facility - some of which looked like they lived / loitered here every dam day - I felt much safer keeping all my belongings IN MY CAR while I was traveling throughout the Rogue River Valley community. THE LOWDOWN A decent stop on the road to somewhere/anywhere. Very inexpensive, but one of those things where "you get what you pay for", and I would not recommend you stay there too long. read more

My family and I stayed here one night and will never stay here again. We lacked hot water, heat, and the doors didn't even line up in their frames. When we spoke to the people running the hotel about the heat, they told us to give it a few minutes. When informed we had given it thirty minutes already, they brushed us off by telling us to give it a few more minutes. When we asked for another towel (there were three of us but only two towels), the woman in charge went to another room and removed those towels. All in all, a horrible stay. WARNING!!! Blood stains, BLOOD STAINS!!!! That should be enough to make anyone look away!! However that's not all - - there were cigarette burns, bugs and bug residue, a broken lock, no fire alarm, dirt and garbage everywhere, completely disgusting conditions and such a terrible smell. Sketchiest area ever - literally had people staring at us through the window. My girlfriend and I were traveling from Yosemite to Portland and decided to stay here - after quickly realizing that reviews online are completely fabricated - And the rooms looked NOTHING like the photos on the site - it was all downhill from here - we literally were scared for our life - we went downstairs to leave and get refunded and the lady at the front had left for the night and left a number which she never answered. We were checking for bed bugs all night - slept in our sleeping bags and piled chairs and tables by the door. I confronted the lady in the morning - no apology - just a smug look and said "oh, I'll look into that" I was appalled - I left that place promising to make sure that nobody else gets stuck here - PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE I BEG YOU!!! WOW! My first YELP fail EVER!! I was deceived by the pictures on-line of the "newly remodeled rooms" and the yelp "Reviews"---I honestly think the management and owners are the only ones posting the positive reviews. I was worried when we pulled into the driveway....the front office had a bizarre smell and was not staffed. The "pool" was in the middle of the parking Lot and most of the pool furniture was broken... the minute we walked into our room, the door closed we gasped! It was dark, dingy, dirty, stinky and paint was falling off the walls.... Literally, we ran out---back to the front desk, turned our key in and demanded a refund.....It was horrific. read more

Had a very pleasant stay here. The continental breakfast was iffy, but I never really eat breakfast. The room was clean, the A/C worked, I would just throw in the caution that Highway 99 gets surprisingly loud at times. Obviously, the hotel is close to the road, and I didn't hear sound from other rooms, but be warned. Internet worked great, restaurants within walking distance. Bed was rather firm, pillows lacked a little substance. Nothing really detracting from here, overall. I'm glad I stopped at the first hotel I found. read more

The double rooms are a little bit cramped but they're clean! Bathrooms are also nice. The customer service is great. Checked in late with a group and the front desk ladies let us have access to breakfast after it closed in the morning. So nice! read more

Raj, the lady at the front desk, was wonderfully pleasant and the room was as expected; comfortable, clean and everything worked well. Instant hot water, heated bathroom floor, a fluffy towel (should have asked for extras though) I was happy with the firm bed and numerous pillows. And while the hotel is still undergoing a remodel, it didn't have an adverse effect on my stay. I look forward to my visit next year, and the completion of the remodel. read more

In the process of moving from Washington to California with 3 children and chose this motel as a good half way point to stop and sleep. Made reservation online and when I arrived somehow the reservation didn't get into their main system and they were sold out. James went above and beyond to accommodate us and make sure my family had a clean comfortable place to sleep. We didn't get one of their newly renovated rooms but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. He even had one of his employees walk is to the room and show us where to park ( parking lot was crazy full ) then James walked out and made sure we were ok with the room. Even though my reservation was lost when we arrived late at night I still feel like they deserve 5 stars because of how they handled it! Great place great people! read more

We were VERY pleasantly surprised. The room was clean with updated bedding , plenty of pillows and full amenities... Coffee maker, frig and microwave. Continental breakfast even !!! Reasonable rate and the owner was real nice and friendly, will recommend this motel to anyone who is traveling up this way and we WILL definitely stay here again next time we come to Medford. read more

This place has bed bugs beyond belief, cannot believe they are still in business. Crooked owners taking advantage of people and have no apologies about it. They admitted that they give the nice rooms to people who book online to avoid bad reviews. I couldnt belive the room they put me and my children in. They said their housekeepers were "off" for the week so they set out vacumes for us to clean our own rooms ourselves. I had a man come banging on my door at midnight asking for who previously stayed there. They then switched me to a "nice" room. When moving my stuff I saw that the man below me who was a verteran with both legs amputated, was pointing out that he had bed bugs in his room and saw several dead outside of his room which I took pictures of. Then I inspected my "nice" room. I found serveral bed bugs. When I showed the management and said I wanted a refund, the women began yelling at me in front of my 3 children. I have never stayed in a more disgusting place. It is beyond my belief as to how they are still in business. read more

I recently came to Oregon for work. I had to find an extended stay motel while I was here. Someone told me about the Rogue Valley Inn that it was reasonably priced. I went and checked out the room and it wasn't too bad so I went ahead and paid for a month. That was a mistake . They run this place like a prison. They wait in the parking lot to watch if you have guests come over, no matter what time of day. If.guests come over they threaten to call the police if they don't "sign in" at the desk as they arrive. Next, after a couple weeks in the room I first saw they moved me to another wing of the motel and the room was awful . It was first and smelly. The furniture old and scratched. The owners are nice people. Their manager James is a total bully. Do not stay here. You could possibly be endangering your safety. read more

I booked this place for a place to crash after a concert downtown. To be honest I was kind of worried about my decision due to some of the bad reviews. I arrived and was greeted with friendly staff. And another thing worth noting the parking lot was with furniture, carpet and U-haul trailers. It looked like they were working on four rooms. Proof positive that management is working to upgrade their property. I am avid watcher of shows like Hotel Hell and Hotel Impossible.LOL I went into ready to inspect and found nothing wrong! A very clean room, cold AC, 40 inch tv and very comfortable king bed. My guess is got to stay in one of the renovated rooms. Management you are doing something right. Housekeeping thank you too. Yes there are long term residents(not to speak disparagingly) It is what is on the strip of hotels downtown. But you Are a Diamond in the rough! read more

We arrived in Medford from Sacramento about 10 pm and called an hour before to get a room. Upon arriving and checking in, the owners were extremely helpful and even asked to help put our things in our room. They are undergoing a remodel but the room was nice and comfortable. Next morning I went into the office and the owner said to me "Good morning Andrea" and introduced me to the lady at the counter that morning. I have never, never, ever! had an employee, let alone the owner, greet me in such a nice manner and even remember my name. The pool was nice to swim in, hopefully they get new patio furniture because the tables were a little old and rickety, breakfast was great with quite a bit to chose from, beds were comfortable, nice bathroom and towels. The next time I am staying in Medford, I am defiantly staying here again. read more

I just don't know where to start with this place most of the rooms have bed bugs and cockroaches.my room had mildew and black mold in the air conditioning also the rug my room was flooded 3 times.the manager did nothing about it.they get mattresses from holiday inn to use in the rooms.however they are in the drain pool area with tarps.they use cheep cleaners to clean the rooms they do not clean the vacuum cleaner after each room.the chairs by the pool are filled with urine and feces the managers Will not do anything about it.the laundry room is dirty you can't wash your clothes there.houskeepers need help with learning to clean.the crime going on there is unreal the managers just don't care it's all about money. read more

I stayed here for one night. The front desk staff was pleasant and seemed very willing to make my stay comfortable. My room was what I expected from an older style motel - nothing fancy but clean and functional. My night was quiet and uneventful - just the way I like it. The only issue was the single roll of toilet paper in the room. I am sure I could have gotten a second roll if I asked, but if you suffer from a sudden 2:00 am diarrhea attack, that does not really work. Overall, a good budget motel. I don't even know how the city allows this place to stay open. Supposed to be a non smoking room, yet smelled like an ash tray. The room was dark and disgusting, trash on the floors including food wrappers, used plastic spoons, and a milk jug lid. The chair next to the table had a huge brownish stain on it. Immediately we went to the front desk to let them know we cannot stay here and would like a refund. The man behind the counter says they do not do that and tossed a $20 bill over the counter and said that's all they can do, and then reported my parents on booking.com as a no show. read more

This place is scary. First of all, the parking is terrible. My room was on the second floor towards the back. It took me a good ten minutes to convince the dog to get on them. He actually turned around halfway up and dragged me back down the stairs. I should have listened to the dog. Who puts a pet friendly guest room on the second floor ? Honestly!Then once you get up the questionable stairs the keyed lock doesn't seem secure at all. All someone has to do is copy a key and they are in the room with you. Also you can childrearing see outside between the door and its frame. And let's not forget about the Ac that runs loudly all night isn't exactly air right either.The room stinks. The bathroom made me want to run away. The floor tiles are cracked and the shower stall is at least twenty years old and dark. No shower for me. I finally crawl into the bed and discover the is only a thin sheet under the nasty comforter. One of the pillows has make up on it. Then I look up to find that the smoke detector has been removed. The fridge started making a scary noise and when I went to unplug it I discovered that the fridge, TV, microwave, coffee maker and a lamp are all plugged into one power strip hanging two feet of the ground. The front desk lady I talked to when I made a reservation was so sweet. However the guy I called on the night shift after I was lost didn't speak English. I had to get directions from another hotel. To bad rogue valley had my credit card on file or I would have stayed at the one giving me directions If it wasn't 1230 am by the time I finally made it into the room after living my stuff and dog (80 lbs) up the stairs and across the parking lot full of people randomly moving around the parking lot, I would have run away as fast as possible. Also the front desk guy locked up and left right after I checked in. I was awake all night worried about bed bugs, dying in a fire and going my car didn't get stolen. Spend the extra 20 bucks to stay at a chain of really anywhere else in Medford. read more

The price was great, $39 a night. You get what you pay for. Our reservation was for a king bed, they couldn't find the key for the room reserved so we got a double queen room. There was no bathtub, just a shower, the bathroom was dirty, I found thumb tacks on the floor. The room was infested with ants, the maid service didn't come regularly, even when I put the sign on the door. The door showed light from the outside. There were a number of "residents" who were all very nice. The pool was small and old but cleaned while we were here. read more

Quick overnight stop, great price, beds on the hard side but xtra pillows were available and they were fluffy. Great and friendly service. Large shower and good pressure. My family and I stayed here for one night about a month ago as a resting place during our move from British Colombia to Southern California and as far as budget hotels go, this one was by far the best we've ever encountered. The room was exceptionally clean and the front desk staff was very friendly and very helpful even after we ended up not checking in much later than we thought we would due to some traffic delays. If we're ever in Medford again and need a place to stay then we'll certainly come back here again. Oh and it's pet friendly so that's a plus as well if you have pets. read more
