Every time I travel to Ashland my favorite place to stay is the Bayberry Inn. This was the first bed and breakfast I'd ever stayed at in my entire life (for the first time a few years ago) and I absolutely adore it! Don't even think about staying in Medford at a chain hotel or anywhere else in Ashland because the Bayberry Inn is the nicest bed and breakfast! Now if you're not feeling social, you can pay a tiny bit extra to have your breakfast served to you on a tray in your room. As a busy Mom, who seldom travels alone, when I come to Ashland I'm alone and getting my breakfast delivered to my room is AMAZING and the epitome of the ideal relaxing vacation having someone cook a gourmet meal for me and I get to eat it alone in my room! The breakfast is truly top notch delicious! I consider myself a 'foodie' who loves to eat and if the Bayberry Inn was a restaurant I would go there just for their breakfast - it's that good! Also, like I mentioned since I'm a female traveling alone I feel sooo safe staying at the Bayberry Inn as opposed to an impersonal hotel. The Bayberry Inn is located in the North part of Ashland and it is easily walkable to everything in town or there's plenty of free parking in the town you can drive too. The rooms are clean with all the comforts of home and they have personal AC and heater too to customize the room temperature to your comfort level which I appreciated! The owners, Jacqui and Billy, are super friendly and nice! They truly care about all their guests and want you have a fantastic stay. This was my first trip to Ashland and the Bayberry Inn. The home is beautifully decorated, and the rooms are charming. I had the luxury bath experience, which included spa products created by on-site owners. The owners are very hands-on and attentive, ensuring your wants and needs are efficiently attended to. Enjoy breakfast from scratch everyday, either in room or at the dining table. The Bayberry Inn is like an island oasis, 5 blocks from downtown Ashland. Excellent host | Beautiful and clean place We needed a place to stay last minute in Ashland. We were eyeing a snowstorm coming in, so we saw this place open and booked the night before. Francesca is an amazing host! She communicated throughout the day giving us tips for places to eat, how to check-in quickly and safely, and how to operate everything during our stay. Check-in was quick and simple. The Bayberry Inn is a gorgeous little home. You can tell she takes pride in her business and making people feel welcome and cozy. Location was perfect!! Safe, quiet, and in close proximity to lots of amenities. Parking was no problem with designated stalls for the B&B. The rooms and linens are spotless! The bed linens and towels are bright white and impeccably clean. The beds are also comfy with lots of pillows. Our room was perfect for our needs. It had a king-size bed and a smaller bed (twin?) for our kid. We were warm and comfortable during the night with down comforters and extra space heaters. We were the only ones staying upstairs, so we had the floor and bathroom all to ourselves. The bathroom is spacious. Hot shower and little touches like lotion and a designated makeup towel provided. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back one day. Francesca is an excellent host and a joy to chat with. I stayed with Billy and Jaqi at the Bayberry Inn for an immersive weeklong Aspiring Artist Retreat. This was an all-inclusive experience which made it easy for me to focus on relaxing and enjoying the many art forms to which we were exposed. The retreat was thoughtfully prepared and the instructors did an excellent job. My cohort consisted of four people, which was perfect for me as I was hoping for a cozy group with an opportunity to get to know people on a deeper level and converse on a variety of topics. The Bayberry Inn is nicely appointed and for the retreats, it really becomes your "home" for a week. My room was very nice and sunny with plenty of space and a comfortable bed. The bathroom too was updated and spacious. I slept well at the Inn and noise was minimal. Coffee, tea, canned beverages, wine, ice and water were available at all hours to us. My room had its own microwave and fridge, which was nice. Mornings were especially lovely as Billy set a lovely table for us and served us gorgeous, healthy and delicious two course breakfasts. A few days we sat on the deck which was very pleasant and we even got to see a couple of deer on the property. The Inn is an easy walk to the downtown area and there we dined at some wonderful restaurants and had the opportunity to shop in our free time. I walked away from the Aspiring Artist Retreat feeling supported and encouraged to continue to pursue and expand upon my art forms. I recommend the retreat and the Bayberry Inn without reservation. We usually stay at Lithia Springs, but they were totally booked. I decided to try something new, and Bayberry's Canterbury room was similar in pricing. The breakfast reviews sold me on making the reservation. The inn is classy, upscale, and very nice. The room is cozy and comfortable. The snuggle blanket was a nice touch and appreciated while we stayed in during a rain storm and watched some Netflix. (Netflix and other channels are provided). The sample sized chocolate truffles were good. Everything was nice. The breakfast was delicious, perfectly seasoned with good flavors, and beautifully presented. The host was nice enough while serving, although we all sat around at the table if more would come out, lol. No communication for awhile told us that was the end. I am small and athletic, and I was expecting a more adequate meal, so I was a bit disappointed by that. I mean, I was still REALLY hungry, and I'd paid an extra $12 for dairy free. Everyone else had yogurt with fruit (figs from their yard, lovely). I had salad greens with the same fruit and a tasty drizzle. We had an egg dish with veggies that was elegantly presented, and mine was a Parmesan free pesto. Those were the only differences for dairy free, so it was a bit frustrating to pay more for not enough food and very few changes. Everything is for sale here too. For some people that's cool; for me I'd prefer to have it be inclusive, at least to some degree (like the snack basket in the room...all are $3-10 each!). It's weird to see prices on everything (a few pages in the welcome manual even for how to buy the sheets, lol. New or straight off the bed.). They make their own toiletries, which is cool, but I won't pay $3 for a sample sized container to see if I like it. I brought my own. Give me a sample, if I love it I'll undoubtedly buy a larger size! Because of the inadequate breakfast, no matter how delicious it was, I can't see myself staying here again. I really needed some breakfast potatoes or something whole grain, or...something else, anything else. read more

We stayed at the Bayberry this weekend and it was absolutely wonderful. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout. I had forgotten to tell them about one of my wife's dietary preferences, and they ended up creating a delicious option for her last minute. When we were checking out we told them we were going to visit Crater Lake before we had to get our flight, and Billy (one of the co-owners) made sure we knew about two stops on the way to Crater that we needed to check out. We did, and they were absolutely amazing. We would never have known to check those places out. Everything was great; food, service, amenities and rooms were all top notch! read more

My husband and I came here for a few nights when we had some business down in Ashland and I'm already looking forward to coming back next time. Everything was clean and tidy, there were so many nice little touches, the common areas are darling, the staff is fantastic. They had to do things slightly differently than normal right now because our stay was during Covid, but the Bayberry made our experience still absolutely special. Lisa, the property manager (I think?) made us homemade pastries/to go breakfasts that were so yummy. Wonderful hospitality walking distance to delicious local restaurants--everything was fantastic. Stayed at the Bayberry inn (Canterbury room) this past Friday, what a great place to stay and particularly so in the current pandemic. The room was very comfortable and well appointed and is located on the second floor. I would recommend making your luggage as small as possible, I did not and the staircase could be tricky if you are not that strong or agile. Upon arrival there was an envelope waiting with instructions to gain access to the building and our room keys were waiting for us on the dresser along with complimentary water. This was good as it was our first road trip in over a year and we were trying to minimize unnecessary human contact. Downstairs in the breakfast room you can make tea or coffee and there is a supply of ice. Saturday morning we had breakfast downstairs and it was really excellent. Poached pears with vanilla yoghurt that was so tasty and beautifully presented. This was followed by eggs cocotte ( eggs baked with prosciutto and cheese) served with asparagus. So good my 9 year old devoured it and now expects the same at home. Francesca is a wonderful host very sociable clearly well travelled and therefore knows how to make her inn so welcoming. She clearly enjoys what she does. This is reflected in the relaxed and welcoming feel of the place. Looking forward to returning on our next trip to Oregon. read more

Stayed here for my first venture away from home during COVID. My pup and I drove up to escape the smoke, and had a reservation at another location that ended up being filthy. I called Francesca and she was able to take us in, but we had no idea the delight we'd be in for. Beds that feel like heaven (no more achy back), adorable accommodations, coffee that means business, and stunning gourmet breakfasts. I have never stayed in a place so nice with my pup (whom they spoiled and even offered to walk while I was in meetings). 100% found my new escape in Ashland. read more

This is a wonderful place To stay!! It's very quaint! Very clean! Bed is very comfortable. The sheets are soft. They have a black wash cloth for make up removal, which I love. My nine year old daughter and I stayed here on our way home to Portland from Northern California. We stayed in the Veranda room which was nicely decorated and very clean. It was perfect for the two of us! Our room opened up to the veranda where we ate our delicious breakfast! We were expecting a simple continental breakfast. Instead, we were served beautifully cut fruit and baked eggs topped with prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, pesto and grated cheeses and asparagus on the side. We were pleasantly surprised! Great find! We loved our stay at the Bayberry. Very short walk into town. Breakfast was superb - Rosemary crusted quiche w gruyere cheese and roasted shallots along side fresh asparagus. Fresh fruit bowl w garden mint. Coffee was outstanding! Spacious room and the bed was very comfortable. Great check in communication made it easy to get settled. Very well connected host! Francesca knows a lot about Ashland and can easily point people in excellent directions to optimize their Ashland stay. Unknown to us, we landed the night of their farm to table dinner offer in the garden area. Due to a last minute cancelation, we were able to join in and it did not disappoint. Bayberry INN B&B Traveling to Oregon and points beyond we frequently stay in Ashland. Not necessarily for the Shakespeare Festival but usually just for the great food and some R&R. Recently we found ourselves heading that way and I started calling some of our favorite places to stay. Guess what ? everything was booked... I found the Bayberry Inn and was happy to find that they recently had three cancellations. As luck would have it we were traveling with two other couples. The Bayberry had three rooms all downstairs and it perfectly fit our needs. The covered front entry leads you directly into the Living Room which is spacious and has a comfortable seating area facing an in wall fireplace. The Dinning area flows through and out onto the rear deck, which is perfect for the morning Sun and the afternoon shade. We found ourselves having wine and cocktails out there most evenings. Our three rooms were all on this level and situated just far enough apart that you felt very private. The owners (Dermot and Sally) prepare a yummy breakfast each morning with a variations of Yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit, eggs, French Toast, Coffee, Juice and cinnamon toast. The Bayberry is only a short distance from the heart of town on the north end of Main Street. The walk is easy but does take about 15 minutes. We Highly recommend giving them a try the next time you find yourself heading that way...... I posted a few photos. read more

Ventured to Oregon with no plans because of the fires in our area. When we arrived in Ashland OR we had no idea where we would stay, we called several Bed & Breakfast that were booked. Bayberry Inn was the 4th call we made, I wish we would've called her first to save us from the frustration we went through. Francesca had gone home for the day, she was sold out and received a cancelation right before we called. Yay for us! This is a beautiful Inn and the value was great. My hubs and I were some of the first guests under new ownership (Jacqui and Billy) and they are on their way transitioning the space to an Inn that is more versatile, unique, and modern; however, none of the charms of a traditional B&B were lost as of our visit. Room was very old and outdated with many carpet stains and a very uncomfortable beds. Shower knobs broken so very hard to adjust water temp. Owner agreed to let us stay with our toddler, then she had her staff were angry when he came out of the room. They refused to give him breakfast initially, stating they only serve adults. They were willing to take our money, but not willing to be polite or accommodating. There are many wonderful bed and breakfasts in Ashland, I'd instead prefer to go somewhere with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. read more

The Bayberry Inn was our recent "home base" for a girls' weekend in Ashland. Francesca, the owner, is as delightful and hospitable as can be. She was so accommodating with all of our needs; from recommending perfect restaurants and wineries to preparing a lovely charcuterie platter to enjoy upon our early afternoon arrival. It took me a while to get to writing this review, but it's still heartfelt! We are a local foundation in Ashland and were looking for a place to hold our holiday party, and we found it at the Bayberry Inn! They took care of all the catering, in house! They were very kind about the many food needs of our people and they laid it out nicely on the large table and had great seating all round the main room, so we could all mingle or just sit. The holiday decorations were wonderful. We rented out the Inn for the evening, so some of our colleagues who lived farther away decided to actually stay there and they raved about the cozy rooms and delicious breakfast. Jaqui and Billy were warm and inviting and made us feel like we were hanging out in our own living room. Some of us braved the winter and sat around the fire table outside and were able to stay warm. It's nice to have that extra space. We would definitely have another function there and maybe in the spring/summer where we could take advantage of their back garden, too! read more

I usually go for cheaper lodging, but the Ashland Hostel was full, so I stayed at the Bayberry Inn instead. It was the last weekend of the 2009 Shakespeare Festival, so they had already changed their prices to low season. I thought $100/night was a fantastic deal for such a nice place. It's reasonable walking distance to the festival as long as you don't mind walking about 15 minutes. With bed and breakfasts, I'm always wary of the pictures they show on their website, but this one really did look like their pictures! The living and dining room are really lovely. I peeked in some of the other rooms and I liked some of them more than others. We stayed in the Bayberry Room, and it was perfect. That room and the Canterbury room have a queen bed and a twin bed, so 3 people can stay comfortably. The bathroom for our room was down the hall instead of being connected to the room, but it was clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was good and filling. Nothing particularly fancy -- granola with fruit and yogurt, orange juice, eggs, bacon, toast, and a grilled tomato -- but everything tasted great. I would definitely stay here again! read more
