This place needs to change the business name because now they are only compassionate about your co pay and what they get from your insurance company. I have been going to this place for 4 years and in the last 2 years I could tell this place was falling apart. LA cancer network bought this place and kicked Hussein Merza to the curb. Merza was the best people friendly oncologist. Merza and Brianna in the chemo room are the best and I always had a pleasant visit when I saw them. I know longer go there because my insurance probably saw through there BS and my IPA cancelled their contract with them. I'm is search for a new Oncologist. Any suggestions? This place seems very unprofessional only because of the clerical girls. They are rude and with attitudes especially Carmen. What an awful experience when people are at their lowest. Scheduling and rescheduling appointments is such a hassle they never seem to follow up even after they stated they would. I would highly consider a different treatment center for loved ones as this facility has some work to do. Nurses and Technologists were great to deal with on the other hand. read more

I called for an appt. for Dr. Reyes & Carmen took my information Friday, 10/27/23 & I emailed to her my referral as well as lab results that same day. Followed up 3 times during the next week w/ no success. Finally called back after 7 days proposing an appt. 2 weeks in the future. If you're looking for "sense of urgency" & "compassionate" care then this is NOT the Medical facility for you. read more

I have seen Dr. Merza with my father here. He is the first doctor that has ever talked to us for an hour appointment. He is very friendly and knowledgeable doctor. I absolutely love asking him questions and treatment he recommended because he goes over everything very patiently. Again he is VERY knowledgeable!!! We loved our visits here and his staff is amazing as well. I don't know their names but the lady in the front is a sweetheart. They all are very friendly and helpful. I had no problem getting appointments anytime I have called them. Thank you Dr. Merza and the amazing team here. I apologize for such a low rating for MERZA, HUSSEIN 260 E Ontario Ave Ste 101 Corona, CA 92879. Compassionate Cancer Care was bought out by LA Cancer. I absolutely loved Dr. Merza as he was always so professional and thorough. Now the bad part is that his office is totally out of touch with working with the Veterans claims. I have been telling them for a couple of years not to bill my Medicare/Tricare. They are supposed to bill ONLY the VA. They kept telling me that they had to bill Medicare as they were my primary. I finally had Triwest community care call them, and it appears they weren't truthful and said I requested that they use only my Medicare, which is a total lie. Why in the world would I keep requesting VA referrals from them and go through the process. After my Tricarewest spoke with the billing department, they seemed upset with me and acted rudely with the Triwest person. I am so upset with dealing with this issue for the last couple of years. I had so many issues with referrals for blood work not being done correctly that Triwest wouldn't approve because they weren't being done correctly for the blood work. I hope the owners reach out to me! If you are using this practice as a referral from the VA, avoid at all cost. read more

From the very first visit my experience was bad. Dr had no bedside manners. I had no choice to continue going to this office because I was released from hospital and needed urgent care from a Hematologist before my surgery date. There was always long wait times on phone and my appts. No call backs. I had surgery with a Gyno/Oncologist and surgeon needed me to stop taking blood thinners before surgery and after surgery. Surgeons office tried reaching this Hematologist office with no success. My surgeon left messages for Hematologist to call him back. They never received a call back. I called several times expressing my urgency to get instructions but with no success. I didn't receive a call back from Dr, nurse or manager even after I expressed my concerns and how upset I was. The front office would just apologize but no action was taken. Not one call back so I changed Hematologist and what a difference. Night and day. I felt my health was neglected and I was forgotten. Till this day not a call back from this office to ask why I switched offices or why I haven't returned. It seems like they don't care about patients well being. read more

What a sad, frustrating and disappointing experience for me, a lack of compassion, professionalism and incompetent behavior is what I experienced from the Oncologist and staff. I experience in my opinion rudeness, blaming (blaming me and staff where I received my scan, this was done by the Oncologist) I did call Compassion Cance Care office to confirm my current appointment and asked if I should bring current and previous CD scans, the answer was no, not needed. I was also called by the front desk while in the exam room waiting, desiring to know where I was for my appointment. I was angry, spending 45 mins on the freeway for an appointment which ended of being a waste of my time, to disperse information that was not helpful. I felt this was appointment was made by Compassion Cancer Care to bill the insurance company for a office visit and not to help the client/patient. Though the doctor made an attempt to recover, blame is never the way to go (this behavior is unprofessional, especially after suggesting I should secure another Oncologist) By the end of this encounter I did not want to hear anything form the doctor, I just wanted to get the heck away from Compassionate Cancer Care. Previous to this incident, Compassion Cancer Care did bother to forward initial consult information to my primary physician. I was so upset I sat in my car in the parking lot to compose myself before getting back on the freeway. What could (Lack) Compassion Cancer Care Corona done, besides their jobs, review the files/charts in advance to ensure nothing required from me or other facilities were needed. read more

Husband received treatment for over a year for pancreatic cancer. The chemotherapy team of nurses were always caring and compassionate. Kristin, the receptionist was extremely kind and caring. However the P.A. upon learning my husband decided to go on hospice as the treatment was not working, never bothered to call to see how he was doing. My husband died after only one week on hospice. I was the one to suggest TPN feeding for his extreme weight loss. I was the one to say his lab results said he needed an immediate blood transfusion. She had the long test results . She just wanted him to come in and continue the treatment despite the fact that his mouth and throat were pretty much destroyed by the chemo . Suggested he had reflux disorder and recommended over the counter meds . The physician and her never seemed to be on the same page. It seemed to be all about the numbers and did not address the emotional needs of the patient. read more

These people here are so sweet so nice they're very caring they're very very very well clean here as soon as you leave they clean the seats with the and sanitize it I highly highly recommend this place to everybody and anybody that ain't the only thing I have to put negative about them is the nurse does not know how to put the needle in the hand to infuse you that's the only thing that's Negative they need a little bit more training but but otherwise in that they have people that can take care of you and everything I mean they're really caring really sweet read more

Dr. Baqai is by far the best doctor ever!!!! I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in January of 2018. It was a very scary diagnosis, especially since I have a 9 year old son. I have a HMO insurance plan so I had to go to the doctor my health plan referred me to and boy, did I ever hit the lottery! From the very first time I met Dr. Baqai she made me feel so comfortable and made the whole process so much easier and a lot less scary. I always felt in the best of hands. She is amazing at explaining everything to you and you never feel rushed. As a matter of fact, everyone at Compassionate Cancer Care is awesome. From the ladies in the front, to the wonderful ladies in the chemotherapy infusion room, to Dina, the PA. Everyone was nice and always patient with all the questions I had. My mom was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2018 and we have been coming to this office for years, what is amazing to me is that even during the Covid-19 pandemic they were always the same, caring, knowledgeable and patient. The whole world was almost empty and the people here were still doing their job of saving people. DR Raowas is my mom's Dr and we are very thankful for him because he is an amazing Dr and he explains everything and anything related to cancer in a way that makes it easy to trust him as well as Dina and Brianna, Karen, Hayley, Ricardo, Diana, Christy, Maria and so many others that work here. We have always noticed how they work so hard and we thank Rashney for helping through our ordeal with everything insurance and making it easier for us! This company is amazing everyone was amazing and going well, check in was great, medical staff amazinggggg Ricardo and Nancy were great! Dr Baqai amazing, however when we get to the lady who gave us a follow up appointment was beyond terrible! She looked soooooooo confused, didn't have the right information, took literally like 20 mins just to hand us a lab slip and a appointment that literally should be under 5 mins way under. She is terrible I believe her name was Rosa. Please CCC hire someone who actually can do the job right! Us people with cancer don't have the time to sit there for 20 mins after being diagnosed with such a horrible disease! All I wanted to do was run out and cry and she took forever! My wife was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in late, 2010. She had surgery and was referred to Dr. Evangeline Reyes for treatment. After her Chemotherapy, she was in remission for a short while when her cancer returned. She was re-diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and through Dr. Reyes' diligence in treating her, she was referred for further testing which resulted in a positive reading for the ALK gene. Thanks to Dr. Reyes, she has been treated for the last 10 years using various Chemo pills and clinical trials that were developed to fight her type of cancer. The Chemo pills have now all stopped working and her cancer has returned. We are working with Dr. Reyes to have Radio Brain surgery on the tumors in her brain and we were just informed that, due once again to Dr. Reyes diligence, she is compatible for a certain Immunotherapy. Dr. Reyes has been our champion throughout these difficult times and she is always looking for inventive ways to treat her giving us hope for the future.
