I had a pool+spa, decking and associated landscaping done by complete last spring. I'm very happy with the end product of the pool. To be clear, they sub everything out, with the exception of the design: digging, concrete decking, plumbing, gunite, plaster... all subcontracted to other companies, but supervised by Complete. Their team did the design, permitting, and landscaping/irrigation work. The pools team did a great job, and I'm very happy with the end product. HOWEVER.... this review is to comment on my overall dissatisfaction with the company's willingness to honor the landscaping/plant warranties - which they didn't do. Instead, they invoked the "act of god" clause, and left me hanging. The dollar figure is a few hundred bucks, and a little bit of my own labor to replace the dead plants... Given the project was north of 200k, it's a minimal impact, but I'm going to be honest, and state that it left me with a terrible taste in my mouth, and wanted to share it with the broader community. The final product looks great. The cost of the job increased by the company without informing me in advance or obtaining my approval. In addition, I paid more than $900 for design services. The company salesman said the fee would be refunded if they did the work. So, they did the work. When I asked about the design fee refund, they told me "we spent it." They sent invoices by text to my phone. I asked them to send them by USPS, but they ignored me. I don't receive attachments via text. Took me weeks to put together a picture of what was going on. I was surprised to find my project cost increased by more than $4,000. Sharp business practices and deception have taken a good bit of the joy out of my new landscape. I feel like I've been disrespected, bullied and fleeced by this company. Feels like "theft by contract" to me. If you're looking for landscaping, I suggest you keep looking. read more

We used Complete Landsculpture (CL) about 15 years ago to install our flagstone patio and surrounding landscape. Some of our neighbors had used them as well, even recently. So when it came time for a complete backyard overhaul, we called them back. This recent project was a major remodel from the alley to the back of the house. We had CL install a pool, water features, landscaping, lighting, new driveway, fence, fireplace with TV, outdoor kitchen, and more. So it was a significant undertaking with drawings from their landscape architect, planning meetings, moving the AC and lines....a complete demo and rebuild of the backyard, essentially. Throughout the experience, CL presented us with lots of options and gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted to do. From the planning phase to completion, they stayed with us through our many vacillations; remaining flexible to our needs and desires. We were provided with a calendar of what was going to happen, when. And you will find this hard to believe, but for a contractor, **THEY ALWAYS SHOWED UP** when they said they would. Complete Landscupture was sensitive to our budget and stayed within it, letting us know if we were getting too far off track. Easy to do on these things, right? Alex Dvinanin was our project coordinator. He was with us throughout the whole thing, walking us through each step. Alex served the important role of liaison between the different trade divisions and us. He was never more than an hour away from responding to a call or text, which was so nice! If you want to look into doing a project, we highly recommend you start with Alex! Of course, CL has the same challenges that all contractors have. You know, stuff happens. But man were they always on it to address any concerns immediately! Their customer service was impeccable, from the general laborer all the way to the owner, Chris Strempek. All the guys were super polite and accommodating. At the end of the day, Complete Landsculpture had the expertise, professionalism, and communication to get our project done on time, on budget and with smiles on our faces. I just wish we could post pictures with this review. We've had friends ask if they could just come live in our backyard now! PS - just a little shout out to our dear friend, Dan Hall and his love of the Texas flag! We used Complete Landsculpture to bring our backyard to life. Tim McAuliffe helped guide our project through completion and we were thrilled by the results. Our small Park Cities backyard had patchy grass, misplaced stones and an old pergola, which had seen better days.  Tim leveraged a design and engineer team to develop a blueprint that made us want to enjoy our backyard for the first time. The project took a little longer than expected due to delays in the city and with the permit process, but Complete Landsculpture did as well as anyone could in helping to move things along when they were out of their control.  We now enjoy a beautiful covered patio along with a turf backyard, which our dog Ellie loves.  When we have friends over, they all exclaim how amazing the transformation is. While the project may have been expensive, it was money well spent to get it done right. read more

I first learned about Complete Landsculpture when I visited a friend's house and told him that I was really impressed with his backyard setup. At the time, my wife and i were looking to complete a similar project, so we gave Complete Landsculpture a call. Prior to working with CL, we had received quotes from about 3-4 different companies but were not completely satisfied with the price or scope of work quoted from the different companies. Because we were making a big investment in a home project, we wanted to be absolutely certain that we found the right company to get the job done. We met Chris (one of the owners of CL) at our house and he was very thorough in evaluating our backyard but, just as importantly, also asking us what *we* wanted for the space. After taking measurements and our ideas, Chris came back with a detailed plan for the backyard and we were impressed with the level of detail and the overall price. After a second visit, Chris modified the plans to account for some afternoon sun (something we would have never realized) and it turned out to be a great change. We then met with Chris at the LC offices and he showed us the different materials (stone, etc) for the patio and the plant options. Over about 2 1/2 days, CL's crews completed our project (decomposed granite patio with a stone fire pit and an area of plants and shrubs) that turned out to be fantastic. CL's crew was professional and the head foreman introduced himself each day to let us know his name and the plans for the day. All in all, the completed work product looks great and we are immensely pleased (as were our friends that referred CL to us). read more

Terrible Company! We were looking for a pool company to transform our backyard and this company was referred to us by a neighbor and a best friend. Unfortunately, we saw completely different side of the company and their design process. Our concerns were confirmed, after receiving additional bids, on how arrogant they were and how their pricing was over $40k more, while designing a pool half of the size. The pool design they presented was literally the size of a "spool". We obviously decided to go with another company and our pool size is over twice the size and again, $40k less with more options and design elements. read more

We used Complete Landsculpture to build a backyard pergola, outdoor kitchen grill, and fire pit in our home. We also had ceiling fans installed lighting, and a gas line for the fire pit. We were very pleased with the whole process. They provided us with detailed drawings from the architect which included landscape suggestions as well. We have chosen to do this process in stages, and they were very willing to work with us to find the best plan that would meet our financial boundaries. Alex Dvinanin coordinated our project for us and was very involved in every step of the process. I appreciated his hands on involvement and walked us through every step of the process. He was always available by phone and each of his team members were very professional, prompt, and took pride in their work. I could not have asked for a better team. I am looking forward to our next phase and would highly recommend Alex and Complete Landsculpture. My backyard is now a great new living space! read more

In the midst of a $30k back deck renovation. Paid the deposit of $15k three months ago, and still no where near being complete. Job site each night is left unsecured with 4' drop offs and nails protruding upwards...which is extremely concerning considering we have two children under 4 yr, 1 dog and 2 cats. Very unhappy with timeliness, workmanship and communication. I would advise anyone else to look elsewhere for another contractor. read more

Our homeowner's association contracted with Complete Landsculpture for a major renovation of a park. I highly recommend their services which are extensive. The foreman speaks both Spanish and English perfectly. The crew is hard-working, professional and keeps the working area clean, particularly when they leave at night. All I needed was for my sprinkler system to be serviced going into autumn, plus there was a head in front that had come loose, resulting in a geyser when the sprinkler cycled on. I called the manufacturer who installed the system and they provided me with the phone number for Complete Landsculpture in Dallas. Issues (#3 is the major one and the reason for the single star rating): 1) The large group of guys seemed to speak no English whatsoever, making it impossible to show them where the problem sprinkler head was. They were here just shy of one hour then, as I was passing a window, I saw that they were in their truck and realized they were leaving. I went outside to see what they had done and if they were finished. Even with the language issue, I thought they'd have a receipt they would leave, if only to show they had been here. Nothing. I called the office, but they weren't able to help, saying that I would receive a bill that showed whatever work had been done. I explained that this bothered me because I could potentially be charged for work I wasn't aware of and, consequently, hadn't authorized. 2) Late in the day, I happened to walk through the garage and saw that the sprinkler box door was slightly ajar. When I went to close it, I saw an "inspection report" folded up and tucked inside -- the guys had left it. It seemed to indicate that two heads were repaired (I was only aware of one broken) and that they had changed two heads (no idea why -- only one was a problem). Interestingly, the details were all written in detailed English 3) The biggest issue and why gave them 1 star: several weeks later, the bill showed up. I had been quoted a labor rate of $75 per hour, yet the bill stated $183 for labor. The guys were here less than one hour (7:30 - 8:24 am, to be precise) -- clearly, the math wasn't adding up. I tried calling several times, but no one returned the call. So I finally just wrote a note on the bill and mailed it to them. When Craig called me (today), he sounded pretty ticked that I was questioning his bill. He said that they charged me drive time, in addition to the time the guys were actually here. When I scheduled the appointment, I specifically asked about their hourly labor rate and was told it would be $75/hour. At no time was I told they would also charge for drive time just to get to my house or I would never have used Complete Landsculpture.. So, doing the math, $183 divided by $75 hourly charge means they charged me for two hours and 44 minutes -- so it took two hours to make the drive to my house? From Sandy Lane in Dallas which, according to Google Maps, is 18 miles from my house and would seem to indicate that they left their office around 5:30 am. It simply isn't adding up. The total bill was $206.81 as follows: Glue, primer, miscellaneous $5.00 Labor $183.00 1 sprinkler part $18.00 Tax $1.81 Very disappointed. read more

My experience with Complete Landsculpture was awesome. Colt came out multiple times to discuss the design layout with me as I'm not a very visual person. They did my project in one day and it looked even better than I imagined it would. This was such an easy and hassle free experience. No stars. Complete land sculpture was a complete disaster! 2 reasons: (1) Pool:they renovated our pool which had to be replastered twice (and refilled with 30K gallons of water twice which is expensive) because their workers left the acid wash on the first plaster (which ruined the plaster). CL then tried to convince me that it was the correct color when it was absolutely not and splotchy. Only after saying that I would contact my attorney did they make the plaster correct. (2).Landscaping. They planted multiple shrubs too shallow so more than 50% of them ended up dying. Again, we were renovating the pool and the surrounding landscape and CL didn't want to replace the shrubs. The second time they were replaced they were still not planted deep enough and several more died. They hid the fact that they planted too shallow under mulch which ended up washing away through sprinkler erosion. We have had to hire another landscaping company to correct CL problems. read more

Can't say enough good things about this company. We had no idea where to begin, but knew we just didn't want all "green" plants. Jeff was so helpful and drew up a great plan for the beds and for the back patio extension of our new home. Also, he responded to even the smallest question immediately and took care of anything that we needed changed. The girls in the office as well are some of the nicest people we've dealt with in Texas since moving here from Nebraska almost six months ago. We wouldn't use anyone else! read more
