My daughter's battery light came on while she was driving to her first day of work; soon after, the car stalled. She called me at 7:08 am, called AAA, they took the car to Complete Performance. They arrived at 9:06 am. I checked it here, saw a bunch of one star ratings. Plus, she said they charged $52 for a diagnostic check of the charging system. Uh oh. I talked to my daughter a bit, then spoke to Bob (I think). He quoted prices of $510 (parts and labor) for a new alternator, $402 for a rebuilt one, and $60 for a new serpentine belt (with no extra labor for the belt change). These prices were in line with what two local shops quoted me (I live 100 miles away from her). Since calling another tow truck and going somewhere would have put her even farther behind, I told them to go ahead and fix it with a rebuilt alternator. At 11:31 am, she texts me, saying the car is back on the road, the battery light's off, she's back on her way to work, and the total was $466 and change. Apparently the diagnostic check had been free once they did the work. I don't know what's gone on here in the past, but today they earned five stars. Good job, guys, and thanks. read more

If i could give this shop zero stars then I would, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!! Took my car in, 2001 honda accord, because the "check engine" light was on and I was having transmission problems. I spoke with Bobby and he claimed he would "hook me up compared to any other shop" Upon diagnosis, Bobby said amongst other repairs, I needed a new distributor, quoting it at 600$. Trusting this seem-to be friendly, knowledgeable, man I okayed for him to do the repairs. When I came back to get my car almost a week later, Bobby informed me that all repairs had been completed successfully and that during the test drive the car showed no signs of needing further repair. BULLSH*T. I took the car and within five minutes from leaving the shop, the check engine light came right back on and I noticed the same problems with my transmission. I immediately called Bobby back and informed him of what was going on, at which point he told me to bring it back. Another mistake on my part. When I brought it back in, Bobby had another diagnosis for me claiming a mixture of things. Spark plugs, wires, and a bunch of other bullsh*t. This one was also quoted around 600$. Really wanting to fix my car, I told him to follow through with it when he gave me his word that no other repairs would be necessary after this investment. Another week went by and after picking up my car, I noticed the SAME thing happening again! Out over 1200$ now, I decided to take my car some place else for diagnosis, a place trusted by a family friend. Strangely, after diagnosis this place too told me that I needed a new distributor. Confused, as I was sure that this was just replaced, I told the new shop about the troubles I had with Bobby. When the new shop guy took a look at my "new" distributor, he said that there was no possible way that it was replaced, as its physical properties matched that of one that was 7-10 years old. Long story short: Bobby is a con artist who had me pay over 1200$ for NOTHING. In the end i spent almost $2,000 on what should have been under $600. I would not advise ANYONE to trust this place with your car. read more

I am always one to support local ma and pop shops but this place is a joke. Went to have check engine light diagnosis. Then told me my motor had low compression and a vac. leak and that they would need to remove my head just to see what the prob. Is . Its a BMW and they are advertised as cert. 2,000 to remove the head JUST TO SEE.. then too it to a friends shop out of town and compression is fine vac. is fixed. 200$ lights of smog done. Don't go there. #ripoff read more

Well i too should have read the reviews for this craphole place they say is a repair shop! Now to inform u i am a woman who has extensive knowledge of vehicles! Took my car there for replacement fuel tank at the time a guy named gene worked there and he was professional treated my family the way a customer should be treated. This car is hardly driven and its parked in the garage all the time just the other day it was driven it made it 20 feet out of the drive way when gas started literally spewing and gushing out of the vehicle Upon looking under the car found gas tank literally falling off towed it to complete where bobby assured us he would take care of it no charge no problem three days later bobby calls and says someone got underneath the car took the entire gas tank off took out the fuel pump broke it put it back in the tank and put the gas tank back on the car!!!!! After the hysterical laughter subsided and the insult of our intelligence subsided he said u must come down and look at suspicious finger prints! After letting him know his theory was about as believable as him actually knowing anything about cars i simply offered to have a contact of mine from the b.a.r come out to hear his theory and check workmanship he offered to pay for everything not only did he not get auth to put used parts on the car upon picking up the vehicle he began yelling like a mad man for us to get the GD car off his lot now mind you the absolute shock that a business owner finds this okay we expressed our disapproval of his repair and unethical business practices bear in mind there were three or four other bullsh*t theorys he made up he informed us that he carries a GUN and knows people who carry GUNS so he isnt afraid to do whatever is needed to protect himself he treated us terribly from the start now again u dont have to be a mechanic to know what needs to be done like you dont need to be a con man to know bullsh*t when you hear it!!! Oddly enough I didn't read reviews before going here, it's just a Smog check I thought, so I chose the closest location. The shop is conveniently located, clean, the staff friendly but the good experiences end there. I took in my 2003 PT Cruiser, it does have a few modifications, which I pointed out when they first opened the hood. The one in question during a smog is the Cold Air Intake, (basically a pipe with your air filter attached). Not only is the one I purchased Smog Legal but many cars now come stock with these items. The mechanic looked at it, asked a few questions, said it wasn't a problem and proceeded to do the smog check. I returned to pay and pick up my car to find that the car had PASSED the smog check test but the shop FAILED the car because the OME parts were not in place after looking at it and telling me it shouldn't be a problem. It has passed EVERY smog check since I bought and added the cold air intake. The main thing that warrants this review, besides wasting my time, was what I feel was outright theft to tell me one thing, proceed with the smog check, (which it PASSED), and then tell me it failed and charge me the full price of the smog check $60 and say if I bring it back with the proper equipment on it they will preform a retest for only $40....Yea, right! read more

We have a salvaged work vehicle. At the beginning of the year is was pretty expensive, just to get it updated tags. This shop was one of the last inspections needed before DMV stop. Original replaced parts and labor was a little to much for us although it had to be done, so we purchased the bulbs and installed them to save a little bit. Then made the appointment, Bobby fit us in his schedule pretty much last minute because of our time frame needed to get it done. He did a great job and it passed his inspection & DMV. We took my son's car - 97 Nissan Maxima - because it did not pass smog and needed a pcv? hose replaced. Bobby's team completed the repairs at a very reasonable price. We also had him replace the motors on the driver's side window (where we were quoted $1200 at the dealer) at almost less than half the price. So no more duck tapes. I have been doing business with CP for longer than I can remember..it's probably going on 15 years. My entire family uses them too for every thing car related. Bobby is honest and friendly and always does his best in getting my issues resolved AND in a timely manner. Cars are a pain! They cost $$ to maintain especially as they age. My car is 18 years old, but it still runs really good..and occasional mechanical costs/anything is better than a car payment. Bobby has kept it running "like a top" all these years. Bobby the owner is very unprofessional, I wanted a diagnostic done and he would not give me a straight answer on how long it would take. Also Bobby went into a random persons car pumping gas, even when I told him I had a ford focus multiple times. He may have possible been drunk, also he forgot the conversation we had 10 minutes prior of meeting. The Engine light came on, on my van so we took it here to find out what it was so we can make sure we can drive back home in the East Bay (1hr 15mins away)& we told him that , so my hisband asked if he can jus use the small computer to check the codes to see whats wrong with it... And while he was Hesitant to use it he was saying that this doesnt give you all the info. That he has to connect it to the big one and thats $150 and they would still have to check it to see whats going on!!?!?!? So then the lil machine gave a code... So he was like well it says its code blah blah blah... Hes like i think... Thats the cose for the Transmission... But wont be sure yet until we check... On the big machine... Wtf... So my husband told him, we jus got the transmission rebuilt over a yr a ago.. That cant be it.. But my husband told him he needed to talk to me to get him away... Being a female i went in to get a diagnostic and they charged 105 dollars just to look at the car and didn't even provide a printed copy of the diagnostic just had me sign some paper and tried to charge me for a million different things i didn't need. ***DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE***PLEASE READ OTHER REVIEWS ATLEAST...BOBBY ANAND IS A SCAMMER!!*** I went to this shop without checking Yelp! first...MISTAKE 1. When I took my truck here for misfires, I explained to the owner, BOBBY ANAND THE SCAMMER, the troubleshooting steps I had already taken and where I had left off. Right off the bat, BOBBY ANAND THE SCAMMER tried to up-sell me a complete set of spark plugs and service for $600+...before he even hooked my truck up to his diagnostic computer!!! This should have been a sign...MISTAKE 2 So, I left my truck with him and rented a car. I checked back daily, but he couldn't figure out what was wrong with my truck. Finally, on the 4th day in his shop, he tells me its one of the catalytic convertors. He "explained" to me how they tried every test imaginable and for sure it was the cat...said he checked all the ELECTRICAL IGNITION COMPONENTS and they were all fine. I told him that cat's don't just usually "fail" and he dismissingly assured me that "he's seen lots of them just fail". I went on to ask him if I should be worried about the other cat, and he said no. He said it would cost around $1800+ to fix. I told him to wait while I looked into getting a replacement cat myself. A couple of weeks later, I ok'ed him to proceed with repairs, but ONLY after he GUARANTEED that my truck would be COMPLETELY fixed when I picked it up...BOBBY ANAND THE SCAMMER looked me in the eyes and shook my hand on that...MISTAKE 3 It took him another couple weeks to complete repairs, which some of was waiting on the part from Ford. During the entire time, he called me 2-3 times to say he was still waiting on the part. He never called to tell me he was finished, I called him. He told me it ran OK, but that he had to replace a couple of the ELECTRICAL IGNITION COMPONENTS, without talking to me first and WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. He said it ran great and it was all fixed. I was so happy to "finally" be getting my truck back(it had been a month) that I overlooked his shady move of replacing unauthorized parts...MISTAKE 4 Picked the truck up on a Sat, BOBBY ANAND THE SCAMMER wasn't even around. I was starting a new job a couple of hours away that next Monday, so I left early in the morning. About half way there(50-60 miles), the truck started running bad, just like it did before BOBBY ANAND THE SCAMMER touched it. So I called in to work and told them I couldn't make it in. I took it back to BOBBY ANAND THE SCAMMED and he said he would look at it...MISTAKE 5 It took him, literally the entire day to "try" and diagnose the problem. Finally, around 4:30, he tells me he "thinks" its the other catalytic convertor! Another $1800+ bill, for nothing?! I DON'T THINK SO!! I got my truck back immediately and took it somewhere else. Looks like it's a valve adjustment thats needed. There are some other details to show he's a scammer, but I didn't want to make this any longer. He's a bold faced liar, a cheat and a con-artist. He is mechanically incompetent. His sole intent is to get your money. Heed my warning and the warnings of others...or you will find yourself writing a bad review on Yelp! and filing a claim with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. I'm very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and truthfulness Complete Performance has show. I was quoted $950+ for Cat, oxygen censer and vacuum hose replacement, after a $145 dollar diagnosis which was very misleading. Labor for Cat, oxygen censer and hose replacement is approximately one maybe two hours time of work, (quoted from three different sources) I was quoted 4 hours time. That's after marking up the parts over 45%. Its difficult to support local business when repeat customers are thrown under the bus, literally. read more

It all started good, staff was friendly and it looked clean. I recently took my ford focus to get the motor mounts replace. By factory this car has issue with these motor mounts, so i thought to bring it to this place because help my sister with her car. She really like there service, not knowing they were screwing her over as well. So i took my car to get it a quote for my car. I did a little research before going to the mechanic, i knew the price for parts with the exception of the labor. So he quote me 3 times the amount for each individual part, and is three mounts needed to be replace. I really wanted to tell this dude off, because i check with auto zone before coming to this place. Avoid at all cost. Talks warranty. Talks customer service. Just talk. Paid to have engine warning/symptoms repaired. Initially repaired. When the very same symptoms came back three weeks later after paying nearly $400 he hooked up diagnostic tool and said it was something else. Recommended small part replacement and cleared the code. One week later symptoms returned. Said he wasn't willing to keep diagnosing for free even though I paid $90 initially to diagnose correctly. Said he would only warranty the part he repaired that obviously wasn't the problem to begin with. Obviously misdiagnosed. I initially gave a good review based on the thought he repaired (at $400 expense). It was never repaired to begin with. Trying to squeeze money out of me. Obviously, I went else where. I understand diagnosing problems is sometimes difficult. With newer cars, things happen. But, if you claim to have fixed something, charged for that repair, and then told the customer you were going to charge the full amount to diagnose and fix again less than a month later, you have placed yourself among that group of mechanics that all consumers hate. Consumers can weather hard to diagnose problems. But, the mechanic needs to work with the consumer instead of wringing them out while they're in a vulnerable place trying to be understanding. So, I came over thinking this place was another auto repairI read up on yelp that had an overwhelming amount of 5 stars. I walked in, told him what my problem (rattling when I turn) was and within 45 minutes I was in an out of that place. Turns out that family suggestions that it could have been my ball bearings turned out to be a loose thingy magig that needed to be tightened. I appreciated the fact that he fixed what I asked him to fix and told me that when I was READY to work on the other things he saw to come by. Maybe I'm taking this all in with rose colored glasses considering my past experiences with auto repair shops especially as a woman, but I don't think they're not as bad as people make them out to be here on the comments. It wasn't until after I came home and recharged my phone and looked up the name that I found out i went to the wrong auto repair shop. I went to Complete performance for a smog check, (by the way he does not offer free retest if your car fails the first time). My car failed smog. Bobby charged me $125.00 to diagnose the problem. The diagnostics revieled dirty EGR ports and needed to be cleaned. it was going to cost me $300.00 to clean the ports, which include some kind of drilling and a kit from the dealer. if that doesn't work, then we would have to change the Catalytic converter for about $440ish. After shopping around, I ended up at Auto Tech. They charged me $168.00 to clean the EGR ports and that did not require any kind of drilling or a kit from the dealer. Yes, the car did pass the second smog test and the Cat converter has not been changed. I believe bobby wanted to charge me for services that are not required. read more
