I've been struggling with cystic acne since my teenage years and even through my young adult years. I started out with a consultation session via webcam with Dr.Black almost a year ago and she recommended getting on Accutane. I was a little hesitant as I didn't want to experience any side effects down the line. However, she assured me that nothing too crazy would happen aside from some physical side effects like dryness of lips and skin. Fast forward 9 months and the results have been pretty promising. I've been off of the drug for 2-3months now and no longer have cystic acne. Highly recommend seeing Dr. Black as she is super professional and so friendly. As the name suggests, this is a comprehensive dermatology center meaning they do everything from medical services to medical spa treatments (laser, micro-needling, etc). There's actually 2 offices on the same floor. The first office is right when the elevator opens and the second office is on that same floor but way in the back where most of the traditional medical appointments take place. Parking is pretty easy. This clinic is located in a medical building with a paid parking lot structure right next to Huntington Hospital. There's also another plaza across the street with parking and a ralph's/pavilions marketplace plaza a little further down the street that's probably a 5 minute walk from the lot to the clinic. read more

Took my daughter here to see Dr. Rubin, and we got terrible service. She gave the most general, unspecific recommendations. She had a stack of pre printer recommendations. When I'd ask a question, she'd circle around it and give a general response that didn't answer my questions. The worst part was that she didn't inform us of the side effects of the medication she prescribed. She knew my daughter waxes her face, but neglected to tell us that the medication thins your skin and my daughter should stop waxing. As a result, my daughter's face is now scarred! Alexa Herzig, PA misdiagnosed and neglected my 78 mother as a patient. She diagnosed her with shingles. Alexa prescribed unnecessary medications and failed to contact us when her culture came back negative. Dr. Lee, the practice owner was not very helpful when I complained about her PA. Unfortunately, Alexa will keep working and hurting other patients! Be aware! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Gaspard for several years for regular bi-annual skin checks due to having had basal cell skin cancer and Mohs surgery for it in the past. She's removed moles, skin tags and frozen off a bunch of those annoying Seborrheic keratosis moles along with doing my regular check ups for basal cell issues. She's professional, warm and funny. I sent my son to her as well to deal with his teenage acne that was flaring up and she put him on Accutane. Several months later it was gone and hasn't come back. I would highly recommend Dr. Gaspard to anyone seeking help with any of the issues I mentioned. Don't be surprised if it's hard to get an appointment as they always seem to be super busy, but it's worth it. read more

The other reviews were spot on. Wow these doctors, assistants, and front desk workers do NOT show any form of patient courtesy and my entire experience not only felt rushed, impersonal, and mechanic, but also left my skin in much worse shape than when I first came in. You have been warned. I didn't really buy into all the negative comments at first and chose to look past those and listen to the positive ones since they are the closest dermatologist location-wise for me, but now looking back, I wish I made a better decision... I went back for a second follow up and they literally took one look at my condition, told me to just buy a different product, and sent me on my way without even giving me directions as to how to use this new skin product that I now need to purchase to try and reverse the damaged they had caused... I'd give them zero stars if I could. UPDATE: dec 2019 The damage they have done to my skin from both procedure and lack of instructions as to how to care for my healing skin let me with terrible results. I ended up going to AMA in Beverly Hills and the team there literally saved my skin... I saw Dr. Gaspard who didn't even introduce herself when she came into the exam room. She checked my skin for pre-cancerous sun damage, then just criticized my tan and habits in general. She was very cold and not welcoming at all. Her support staff on the other hand was fantastic. They were very warm and caring. I would have loved to post 5 stars because Dr. Rasha and the front office staff, all the doctor assistants, the lady at check out and the the lady in the pharmacy are all AMAZING!! I went In for a rash on my shoulders and saw 3 different doctors over a month or so. I saw Dr. Butler and she was great but her methods didn't help me. I then saw Dr. Rasha and she was amazing including her assistant, but she couldn't help me so she sent me to see Dr. Black ... WELL her assistant was amazing. BUT When it comes to Dr. Black herself well what can I say she has zero manners...Every time she would asked me a question she cut me off, when I was trying to answer. I felt judged because I'm covered in tattoos ( pictures of animals ) and the questions she asked me were insulting and I guarantee you that she doesn't ask any of the other patients she sees if they do COCAINE, HERION, or OPIODS .. maybe she thought my problem was because of doing drugs but no , do I look like I do HERION ? I can't see her asking other clients in that facility questions like that. There's no way. Dr. Black is also not a psychiatrist so don't tell me to tell my psychiatrist to lower my antidepressants or put me on Prozac. She prescribed cream for my shoulders and it didn't do anything to control my rash. I discussed with other doctors in different offices what she asked me and one person said " she's naïve" and another person said " she has absolutely no bedside manners" I absolutely agree ! There's a way to ask someone if they take narcotics, like saying " do you do narcotics " but for a doctor who's background in schooling and so on is high ranked she definitely failed the test in manners and people's feelings and making someone feel UNCOMFORTABLE..I think she should got back to school and get a degree in how NOT to make someone uncomfortable. Today I saw another doctor somewhere else who helped me right away and solved my rash issue in just one appointment.. Obviously I would never return to Dr. Black but I did want to give props to Dr. Rasha and all the other friendly kind staff and appreciate how genuinely nice they were. Dr. Black can respond to this Yelp review and say what she feels but making someone feel uncomfortable and characterizing them is not acceptable.. read more

I dont usually write many reviews but this office is the greatest. I saw Dr. Lee and her PA Sally. They are amazing. I had an emergency situation that another dermatologist missed. She told me a growth I had was just a benign cyst and to leave it alone. Flash forward until this week and it was a full blown infection. I called my former dermatologist and she wasn't available until October even after i told them about my situation! Dr. Lee made sure to be available for me the day I called. She helped get rid of the infection and was there to answer any questions I had. Also Sally was amazing too!! I will never go to another Dermatologist again. Simply the best. read more

I came in recently to get a skin tag removed. When I called to make my appointment, the staff on the phone was helpful and got me in within a few days to see a doctor. When I arrived, I brought a book along since there is usually a bit of a waiting period. I started to notice people getting up and harassing the poor girl at the front desk. I guess the office was running really far behind. For me, it took probably an hour after my appt. time to be put into a room, and then another 20 minutes to be seen by the doctor. Dr. Butler removed my skin tag in two seconds - and it didn't even hurt! She then gave me a quick full body exam to make sure everything else was looking ok. I'm fair skinned and now 32, so it's about time I did this. Other than the wait, it was a fine experience. I look forward to increasing my star count the next time I go and the wait times are fixed. read more

I searched for a derm clinic to seek advice on removing a brown spot on my face, plus a small mole. After calling up a few places, I chose Pasadena Comprehensive for its location and politeness of the appointment setter over the phone. I was able to get a same day appointment with Elena, the physician's assistant, and for $90, I was able to get what Elena called a "maturity spot" frozen and in about a week it eventually sloughed off. She was also patient with me when I complained about a small facial mole, and let me decide how much I wanted to get it frozen off. This clinic, conveniently located on North Fair Oaks where Huntington Memorial Hospital is, also offers peels and Coolsculpting. The website is very informative to glance over. Another reason I chose this center is because Dr. Heather Butler works there and heads it. I had seen her years ago for mole removal when she worked at a different location. Overall, I give this derm clinic five stars for its professionalism, cleanliness and location. read more

I was referred to this place by my daughter's peds to have her ears pierced. Her pediatrician gave the ok to do it at 6 months. I came back in October 2017. Krista was the one who pierced my daughters ear but one of the ears she pierced was uneven and she said that if I wanted to re-pierce it, I can come and she won't charge me for this. OK....... 6 months later, I decided that it was time to re-pierce the uneven ear, but guess what? She no longer works there anymore. So I tell the story to the receptionist Ruby of what happened, she went and check and that Dr. Lee will be happy to help with this situation, She said to just call in and make the appointment when I wanted. (she made notes that it will be no charge) A week later I called to make an apt but Dr. Lee was not available on the date I wanted (this was the only day off I could get) I asked if anyone else can do it. Receptionist Alexis, Alice or Alexa said she will call me back. She never did. So I called back 2 days later and spoke to Jessica. I said the same story of what happened, and she said that they don't pierce infant ears anymore bla bla bla. I replied that Ruby said that Dr Lee will do it just checking if she could see me on the day I wanted... and then she put me on hold....... She came back saying Dr. Butler will be able to do it. OKAY good, I made the appointment. A week later. I get a call from Mary Lou. She said that they won't be able to do it because they don't pierce infant ears. Well.. what can I say? She apologized and said that she will refund me. What can I say? Before we hung up the phone, I ask, why I was told otherwise and made the appointment. She basically was trying to blame the receptionist that they don't know and that it was their mistake. I mean, the receptionist knew and I knew but she checked with the doctor that they will make an exception and pierce the ear for my daughter... whatever.... at least, I am being refunded; but is not the money problem. If I learned anything from visiting this facility, it's to be your own advocate. I have been being "treated" here since November of 2023, it is now March 1st tomorrow. I came here out of pocket because they're supposed to be the best. Not only has my issue worsened, but I have now been in the hospital 4x because of the "care" I received here. First few visits with a PA were a bust. The Dr. later she confirmed gave me expensive cream after expensive cream that would not help me. I finally insist on seeing Dr. Rubin, who had me do a 7 day saran wrapped soak and smear without checking for infection first. Turns out, that soak and smear turned a few infected bumps into the worst nightmare of my life. My entire foot now looks like the flesh was literally eaten off of it because of the spreading of a severe staph infection the hospital finally swabbed me for in one of my many visits. I have been suffering with no sleep and the worst burning itchy pain of my life for over two months now with no real help or solution. I also paid for a biopsy when all that needed to be done was a culture for infection. I could have been put on the right antibiotics and wouldn't be where I am now, looking for an infectious disease doctor to treat this mess. Weeks ago, they sent me home with an anti-fungal to 'try' for two weeks because she was "frustrated" and didn't know what else to do. What an experience. I have been seeing a new derm at a different office and in 2 visits, they've already got me on Dupixent injections and antibiotics. They have treated me and my horrible experience with the utmost care and empathy. Degrees just can't top experience. read more

I scheduled appointment with an esthetician for dermaplaining and a facial. The woman took my credit card as there was a $50 charge to hold the appointment. Today, 90-minutes before my appointment, I got a weird call from their office saying their system had been down but it was running again and they would charge my credit card. I arrived only to be told that Ruby, the esthetician who I was scheduled with, doesn't do dermaplaining!!!! I'm like "what!!!????" The receptionist couldn't tell me why I would have been booked with Ruby who doesn't do this treatment. Then she's like "oh, maybe just have a facial," which is not what I needed. This is a review for Dr. Scott GASPARD amazing doctor with an amazing bedside manner. I first came to this practice for a facial and I noticed how amazing the racialist looked...she had no jowling no laxity ...And looked incredible for her age. She mentioned she recently had the PDO threads placed by Dr. Scott and showed me her PDO before and after photos. I'm not kidding, I couldn't believe the difference, and wow!!.... she looked great! I have been super hesitant to get the threads with the mixed reviews online however, Seeing her results, I booked immediately with Dr. GASPARD. I can say that The process was rather straightforward no Downtime you may feel some twinges & zings after your treatment and you may not want to open your mouth too wide but not for long -other than this ...the results are worth every penny. And the results last two years-PDO threads are better than Botox and way better than fillers! I am 53 y.o. woman And I love the results. Dr. Scott was patient kind, caring and amazing at what he does I highly recommend this doctor ...he is also a trauma surgeon so he truly understands the process and knows where and how to place threads correctly. Don't wait any longer if you think you want an immediate beautiful result, a result that will even stimulate your collagen for long, lasting results ! ...and best yet, you can be certain your in the best of hands. I've seen a similar review of this practice and I couldn't agree more at the complete lack of personal attention and detail. It's basically a dermatological McDonalds. Dr. Gaspard spent maybe 2 minutes MAX with me and looked at my skin for 10 seconds. I picked up my prescriptions and there is no clear directions on when to use and how. I will say they did spend plenty of time trying to force me to buy my prescriptions from them directly or from the pharmacy they choose because I'm sure they financially benefit. Asking to just pick up my RX from my Walgreens was like negotiating for a used car. Worst doctor experience I've had since I moved to Los Angeles in 2005. read more

There's definitely better offices out there. The front desk staff is nice but the girls assisting the doctor in the back are not professional or kind at all. Every time I went ( I had to) I felt rushed like I was in the way bothering them. As Im still asking questions (which were two) she's literally walking out the door. No smiles and the responses are short. Also I got a biopsy done on a Wednesday and they didn't send it out until the following Monday so I had to wait over 2 weeks just to hear back. The staff lied to my allergist saying they sent my biopsy results to them but someone slipped and later said no they didn't. I had to get more lab work done and after 2 weeks they never called it in even though I called to make sure it's ok to go to a particular location. This is not a legit business. read more
