This little restaurant is Day Of the Dead themed, with beautiful hand painted murals inside. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. I have specific gluten allergies and they made sure to let me know which items are safe to order. There were many options available. I ordered horchata with muddled strawberries- delicious. I also order the Sunday special of quesabirria. Freaking delicious. They slow cook it for 48 hours. It was life changing- even better than the birria I make at home. My mom ordered the chicken pastor flautas. They came in a massive goblet with salad and avocado. Delicious. We had someone from the kitchen (maybe the owner) come visit the table and ask us how everything was. We then ribbed him about the dessert menu not being gluten free. He proceeded to bring us a flan treat, which isn't sold as is on menu- normally it comes in a treat leches cake. That was super considerate of him! Overall we loved the experience, and will be returning many more times. We had such a wonderful experience here! As someone with family from Michoacán, this place truly felt like home. The rice especially stood out to me--it tasted just like my mother-in-law's, which says everything about how authentic and comforting the food is. Even more impressive was the service. We arrived with out a reservation and the team did everything they could to get us seated quickly--less than an hour wait--and treated us with such kindness and care the entire time. That genuine Mexican hospitality really makes a difference and made us feel so welcome. Let me start off saying that Anthony was a fantastic bartender. Nailed EVERY cocktail. Brandon behind the bar also had plenty of recommendations for the area and good conversation. Everyone was very hospitable and answered all our questions. Love the día de los muertos vibe. A great selection of tequilas and mezcal. Only a couple weeks in and I know this place will become a classic Napa staple. The cocktails are delicious. I've been twice and both meals have been to die for. So everything was great! Drinks were 10/10 and food was great! I went with a friend of mine and ambiance was really nice! One of the bartenders, Parker was great and really knew his drinks! A perfect match for the bar! The ONLY THING, my friend and I didn't care for was the timing! Beware of the actual timing of when you need to get up and go! I notice it mentions on the site about the timing but not actually how long you have to sit/eat .... Which is not good to me. These are my thoughts now : I think it's distasteful for people to come to your table/bar and remind you of how much time you have to eat/drink. Maybe I'm old school and I haven't been out to modern restaurants now to where they do this but this my first time experiencing it. Other than that I thought it was great. Big fan already of the sister restaurant; La Cheve. Have been wanting to try Con Amor since it opened but couldn't find an opportunity until tonight on my husband's and I's 13 year anniversary. Made reservations ahead of time and got seated right away. They let you know when making reservations that there is an allotted time for you to be at your table. Ours was from 6:45-8:30. Which was plenty of time to order and eat. They bring out the food really fast too which was awesome because I had starved myself all day to stuff my face with what I already knew was going to be amazing food. The amount of little details to the restaurant, the place gives Michoacán, meets Dia de los muertos feels. My family is from Michoacán and I felt like family being there. The monarch butterflies, the cempasúchil flowers, the alebrejes with the drinks. It screams orgullo and cultura. So happy for the owner on the second location of this sister restaurant. Service and atmosphere on point, food and drinks on point. I definitely recommend to make time to try this place out. read more

Con Amor absolutely blew me away! I started with the Luchadora cocktail and it was amazing -- perfectly balanced and so fun to drink. We kicked things off with the salsa trio, and I added a side of chips because I'd never had chicharrón before. I'm glad I did, because having both together was perfect. The chicharrón was surprisingly delicious! For the table, we shared the Cajun Mexicana, and it felt like a full-on seafood boil -- shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob -- all seasoned beautifully. Total FIRE and such a unique, comforting dish. For my entrée, I ordered the tacos de chile relleno with shrimp, and they were dreamy. Flavorful, satisfying, and honestly one of the standout bites of the night. The vibe, the food, the creativity -- everything was spot on. We had the best time and will definitely be coming back! It is a very cute place. The reservation did not allow for table reservations so we did the bar. The stools are WAY too close to each other. The food was beautifully looking but did not taste as good. They definitely need some flavor. It might be made con amor but not con sabor. Which really makes me question a lot of Mexican places if they deliberately chose to not have the flavor to cater to certain groups. It is simply a question that was part of this dinner discussion. $90 for 2 entrees and 2 drinks was not worth it considering the best thing about this place was the music chips and napkins. This restaurant basically "kicked us out" while we still had half of our meals on our plates and only a few minutes after a second round of margaritas had been delivered. Initially we thought they were kidding when they told us to give up our table, but they claimed they needed to accommodate a later reservation. They didn't even give us five minutes to try to finish up; instead they brought the check, threw our meals into "to go" boxes, and escorted us out to the patio where we were allowed to finish our margaritas. Wow. This restaurant has a lot going for it with a fun and festive atmosphere, but they are stacking reservations too tightly to allow for a normally paced meal. My friend and I were both shocked and mortified by this rude treatment. We are both professionals who dine out frequently, and I doubt either of us will go back. read more

So disappointed in this place! We had reservations for a party of 5 at 4:15 on a Sunday. We approached the hostess stand at 4:05. They said they would check on our table, 5 minutes go by they come back and said it would be another 5-10 minutes until our table was ready. No problem! They offered us to wait in their outside patio area. Another 10-15 mins go by and no update from the hostess. We had to ask the server about our table. He said another 10-15 mins. At this point we were waiting for nearly 30 mins before we had to ask AGAIN about our table. The whole time the hostess are laughing, texting, and not seem to care about us. Mind you- a party of 4 was seated before us which we thought was odd since we had a reservation and arrived before them. Shortly after, a waitress came out and apologized for the wait and said the first "round" would be on the house and that the other party was finishing up. Finally they came and got us and sat us right behind a curtain. It was loud, small, and definitely not a place for kids. Ultimately we decided not to eat here. 45 minute wait even with reservations is unacceptable. Do better at managing and respecting peoples reservations! Everything was seasoned nicely and spice level was good for general population. Appetizers we had tortas 3 flavors and was great! Everyone in my party loved the salsa verde with pork. The salsas with pork rind was lovely great flavor. I had quesabirria for my entree and the consome was awesome! The rice was not my favorite... but everything else was so good I let it slide. The service was an issue. Our server never came back after we placed our order for appetizers. So for water refills/drink orders/ entree orders/ literally everhing we had to ask the bartenders to help us out. Luckily they were incredible and ended up being the main ones to check on us. I had an amazing experience due to the bartenders. I will absolutely will come back. I just hope to see us Mexican customers treated with the same respect as everyone else. The server attended literally every single table around us except for us. The bartenders did apologize for our lack of a server and they threw in the concha filled with ice cream. I've been to La Cheve in the past and really enjoyed both the food and drinks, so I was excited to try their new restaurant, Con Amor. I went last night with my friends, but unfortunately our experience was a bit of a letdown. The restaurant itself is quaint, and the décor is very nice. The drinks were tasty, and the presentation was great. However, the area that really needs improvement is the food. The flavors just didn't deliver. We ordered the mole chicken wings and the duros as appetizers. The wings were okay, but they definitely lacked flavor and could've used more seasoning. The duros didn't have much toppings and lacked flavor. For my main dish, I ordered the flautas ahogadas, and these were a huge disappointment. The chicken was dry and lacked flavor, and even though the menu lists salsa verde, there was none on the dish. When we asked the server, he said it didn't come with salsa, which seemed odd since the menu said it had salsa verde. I asked if I could have salsa, and he brought a small jar of chili oil. It was fine, but it wasn't the salsa verde I was expecting. My three friends also weren't impressed with their meals and mentioned that their dishes lacked flavor as well. Overall, we were pretty disappointed with our experience and aren't sure if we'd return. read more

Things were bad from the moment I even made the reservation. Went to their website and started to make reservation for 2. Was given 3 options, Bar, counter or dining room. I chose the dining room. Put in all my info and got to the end and they want a credit card so they can charge me $50.00 if I don't show. I also have to agree to use my credit card # for all future charges with the processed. WHAT?? Made the reservation as I had no choice if I wanted to try out this place. Get to the restaurant and get seated in the very back right next to the kitchen and bathroom. All the other tables had booth seat and chairs. I got a wood stool to sit on. We were also told that we only have an hour and a half to eat and then we would have to leave. At this point I'm hoping the food will save the evening. I ordered a Al Pastor chicken taco. I thought Al Pastor was pork, but I love the pork seasoning so I decided to try it. While waiting for our dinner, I was expecting chips and salsa like every other Mexican restaurant brings to the table, but never got any. OK, they'll probably come with the meal. The meal came and it included some cucumber strips, some Lays potato chips and what was supposed to be a al Pastor chicken taco, but looked like a chicken burrito. Inside this so-called taco, there was nothing but baked chicken no sauce no rice no lettuce no nothing, Just baked chicken wrapped in a tortilla. I never did get tortilla chips.
