3.75 stars because it took an hour to get a coffee! However... it was worth it! It took almost 20 minutes to get inside from waiting in the line outside. Then another 30 minutes inside waiting in line. This line does not move fast! Pro tip come during the week! The set up inside then becomes another line and only one person at the end of the line taking orders. They had a live DJ today and it was very loud! You couldn't hear much of anything! I will say the service was good and everyone I talked to was very nice! I got my dog a pup cup, it was HUGE! The most adorable pup cup.. but so big I'm like is this going to make her sick! I realized it must have been a while since l've been to DOCO, because it wasn't until I reached Con Azucar Café that I realized it replaced the Starbucks that was once here. Due to long lines in the morning, I decided to come back and give Con Azucar Café a try later in the day. Even in the afternoon, most of the tables were filled. I tried the Horchata Latte. The horchata flavor was there. The sweetness wasn't overwhelming, but the texture was a bit chalky at first. The pictures they make on the top of their specialty lattes look nice. Con Azur Cafe and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Their cafe de olla version was terrible. Café de Olla is a classic Mexican coffee that offers a well-balanced blend of coffee, cinnamon, and brown sugar, often served with heavy cream to give you a comforting and energizing boost. Traditionally, it's even served at funerals as families celebrate the passing of a loved one into a better life. It's meant to be warm, rich, and meaningful. However, the café's version was far from that. The counter staff overpromised their Café de Olla, but it tasted terrible. When I asked to switch to a mocha because of how bad the coffee was, their friendly smile quickly disappeared. They didn't offer a replacement or try to make it right. Instead, I had to pay again for the mocha just to finish the coffee break with my wife. Very disappointing experience. It was an easy decision not to come back. If you're going to sell poor-quality coffee, at least stand behind it and fix the problem instead of charging customers twice. Promotes well in facebook- HELL NO not again. read more

I was excited to come check out this vibrant new coffee shop at DOCO. The decor is really nicely done and tons of photo ops! They took over the old Starbucks location, which didn't succeed in this spot so I hope this one has a better chance. We came at 8:20am on a Saturday and I was surprised to see it so packed already! There were probably about 20 people ahead of us in line but it moved pretty steadily. The line was mainly to order, because once we ordered the drinks were out less than 10 mins later. The whole visit took 35 minutes. I was waiting outside so when my husband brought the drinks out, I noticed mine was missing the Abuelita cold foam completely. I went back in to get it fixed and the lady didn't say a word and handed it to another lady to fix. She was about to put vanilla cold foam on top and I told her my order was Abuelita cold foam. This is on the label on the cup so it's crazy they missed that completely the first time and then the wrong flavor the second time. I didn't get much of it on top because of course the cup was already filled with the drink, whereas normally they'd leave space for the cold foam. No apologies were given either. Not sure if the lack of attention to detail or apologies was due to being overwhelmed with the long lines but just something to work on as they are open longer. I barely had the drink for a few minutes and it just tasted so watery as if it were melted. The only highlight is the crunchy ice! The cold foam itself was tasty but overall nothing special about the drink. I really don't mind waiting for food/drinks, but it has to be good and worth the wait. Especially considering we had to pay for parking too, I don't think I'll be rushing to come back unless we are already at DOCO. read more

Super busy- long line. I know them from their San Jose location years ago. I wanted the latte with a custom picture but they said no because they were too busy. Staff friendly and working hard. They were also out of the jamon torta that we wanted- next time. We got the grilled cheese and horchata latte as well as matcha latte. Notes- all drinks are premade so you can't customize the milk or sugar level. They are all on the sweet side. The bread is good and seating is limited for the amount of people that go. Lots of picture opps and cool things to see. Love the Frida mural and flowers and quirky Mexican sayings. The bathrooms are very modern and have codes to get in. I came in on a Sunday at about 8am and I'm so happy I did because the minute we got in line it grew past the front door! Upon entering the place was very beautiful and 100% decorated and branded to the top. I was transported to Mexico with all the murals and extravagant signature trees. I was a little disappointed that when we got to order a lot of items were not in stock so I had to pivot and order a different drink on the spot. Probably explains why the line wasn't moving after us. The white mocha was actually really good I could taste the quality of the coffee and something that stuck out was how COLD the milk was I loved it LOL. The mini bread assortment was so cute and smaller than the mini items that are individually sold. I took a bite of each and to my surprise they were all soft and fresh! I'll be back to try the avocado toast and the sink I originally came to try which would be the Toasted marshmallow from the seasonal section. Might even have to get that tamarindo drink sheeeshhh. Con Azucar is the newest addition to DOCO right next to the large DOCO sign we love of Sacramento. In prime location, this place is beautiful and such a nice cafe fitting for the area. The service is kind and they were quick to shorten a long line. Caveat, when asking for keto friendly drinks they claimed they had no sugar free options. Not even just a plain americano or coffee. Granted their establishment is called "with sugar" but we were shocked. I had 2 conchitas and decided to try an horchata latte. Con Azúcar is definitely an "Instagramable" place. It is so pretty both outside and inside! My partner and I did have to wait a while (about 20-25 mins) to get inside and to order our food, but it was worth it! I ordered a delicious Duvalin latte and the caprese toast. My partner ordered a Gansito frappe, which was even better than mine, I must admit! Although some people claim that it is not worth the hype, I completely disagree. This place is just what every foodie craves! The decor and the unique drinks make your visit great! I vis it visited on a weekday and right before lunch with no line. The options if drinks can be a bit overwhelming because they all seem like good options. I asked the cashier for their take they weren't too helpful as they said they hadn't tried several drinks. I tried the mazapán drink and it was really good. Because if the drink they were supposed to add a picture and u had selected Frida if I recall. Well there was such a big confusion with the barristas and they said they couldn't find the item for the pictures and weren't apologetic. Had the chance to check out one of Sacramentos newest coffee shops, Con Azucar Cafe. I've seen a lot of their videos all over Tik Tok and was happy to see them open up a shop in our city. We did wait a while to get up to order but it was their grand opening so it was expected. Ambiance wise, the cafe is one of the most aesthetically pleasing shops I've ever been to, it's like you have to take a picture before you leave. The staff is also very nice and helpful giving suggestions on what one should order. They have a variety of different drinks for coffee lovers and non coffee enthusiasts (like me). Their food selection is also really nice with one of their highlights being a giant concha. I went with the limon and pepino agua fresca (cucumber lime) and my family got their cafe de olla and torta de Jamon. Everything was pretty good but nothing to say I had been wowed (at least food wise). It is a little on the pricier side but honestly seeing how expensive everything really is right now and location of the shop it's all really expected. Definitely hoping to see them rotate the agua flavors with the season change in Spring and Summer. I'll comeback to this shop maybe in a couple weeks when everyone's had their fare share and it's not as packed but I most definitely recommend everyone give them a try. read more

I had the Torta de Jamón, and it was perfection--telera bread loaded with ham, lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, avocado, queso fresco, and melty pepper jack cheese. It reminded me of the tortas my abuela used to make. Paired it with an Abuelita Chocolate coffee for all the cozy nostalgia vibes. They offered to customize our cafe de olla by making it less sweet with regular brewed coffee which was awesome! Highly recommend getting the Torta de Jamón! It was fire! Visited Con Azucar Cafe in DOCO for the first time on a late Saturday morning! I recommend to park in the DOCO East garage that has an entrance on 7th street. It'll be a short walk since it is located on the corner of K and 7th Street. There was a short line outside, which they have a staff member allowing people to go in when the line shortens. Very beautiful cafe! Love the murals and decor. Staff were friendly and provided great customer service. I ordered the 16oz ice horchata latte, which was made quickly and available in the pick up area. This was by far the BEST horchata latte that I've ever had and must get again on my next visit. My cousins and I checked this place out on a Sunday around 11am and it was packed!!! The line wrapped around twice inside. It is so nice inside. Very clean, bright colors, really friendly and nice staff. Honestly we were talking and yapping away, we didn't realize we were in line for an hour in a half!!!
