This place has really good food... I feel bad for the owner because it has great food but the coronavirus restrictions are have closed Uark as the customer base is at home. I live well out of town, but drive by occasionally, but never around meal time. The name has intrigued me so I had always promised to stop in. My goodness, I'm glad I did. I was greeted by the smiling, friendly owner. (His story of perseverance is remarkable) I ordered a Taco Meal Combo, (2 Taco or 4 Taco) which gives you a beverage, a side of queso and allows you to choose a mix of the 13 imaginative creations. Nice selection of fresh chips and dips. The guacamole was excellent and definitely made fresh. Nice home style chips freshly fried and lightly salted! Perfect! The tacos are a little on the designer side versus authentic, but it was exactly what I was wanting. Ingredients freshly prepared and well seasoned. Meats cooked perfectly and left moist and tender. They have several different combinations of meat and veggie taco options, paired with their amazing cheese dip and unique chips. They are competitively priced and I always feel I get my monies worth. Waited in line for over 30 minutes to order with only one cashier. When I finally got to the register to order my food, I tried to order off the happy hour menu (on the website, happy hour is listed weekdays from 2pm-6pm- see attached photo) only to be told that it was no longer happy hour - it was 4:55. When I asked about it, the cashier only shrugged his shoulders and didn't say anything. I just recently went to the new Plomos/old con queso's. It was an awful experience. I asked them to make it dirty... didn't come dirty so I took it back up and they didn't remake it they just put on cheese on top of the already made quesadilla. So it was even MORE burnt. ONE OF MY PERSONAL FAVS!!! I started coming here probably about 3 years ago or earlier and the quality is always perfect! It's only gotten better! With a place that includes Queso in the title, it's a no-brainer that you have to get the queso at least once. Plus, there's about 4 different kinds to choose from! All of their menu is delicious and unique - Quesos, tacos, everything. You can tell that everything is made fresh, especially their corn tortilla chips, which are toasty, warm golden, and thick with a perfect crunch every bite (oh and did I mention their unlimited?). The atmosphere is bright, modern and hip with natural wood and green accents colors. Plenty of seating area for groups or just a lunch date for 2. Hands down my favorite taco spot in Fayetteville. I always get the Los Cabos (classic tex-mex chicken taco) and I've tried most of the other options. They're all good, but I especially love the Santorini (greek-ish), Frisco, and ESPECIALLY the huevos con quesos if I'm super hungry. I recommend the two taco meal. I thought, "two tacos? I am a destroyer of tacos, this could never be enough for a taco aficionado as myself!" I was wrong. I can barely finish the meal, and I'm a big eater. Comes with two tacos, chips and a dip, and a drink. The cheese dip and house-made chips are awesome. I'm really at odds about whether I like the regular cheese dip or their korean one better. It is an existential crisis every time I order, usually resolved by coin flip. But you won't go wrong either way. The staff is 100%. SUPER nice, and I've never had a lengthy wait or a messed up order. The type of folks that if you go every couple of weeks they'll remember your name and what you like. I haven't eaten IN the restaurant, only pick-up (pandemic, etc.), but the atmosphere seems perfectly fine and comfortable for a fast-casual place... clean and "hip". I'm not one to complain as I've worked in restaurants as well, however the cashier tonight had such a bad attitude the entire time. She was slamming doors and being rude. We're really impressed with Con Quesos! We're from the San Francisco Bay Area and are just here visiting, but we used to live in Austin (I'm originally from Southeast Texas), so the idea of "concept" fusion tacos really appealed to us. I guess we're a little homesick for Torchy's in Austin! So this is really similar to Torchy's in terms of execution. I tried the Osaka, the Bombay, the Condesa, and just a bite of the Game Day. Oddly enough, I did NOT try the Zilker Park--but I definitely appreciated the shout-out to Austin! My husband tried the Santorini, the Condesa, and the Game Day. If I had more time, I would've liked to have tried the La Raza (portabello mushroom) and the Montego (Jamaican jerk chicken). I was maybe most impressed by the Osaka, a Japan-influenced taco starring hibachi-grilled shrimp and egg-fried rice. I'm always wary of casual-dining shrimp, because it can get so rubbery, but this shrimp's texture was perfect. There was also a sweetness to the pan-fried rice that I thought was really authentic to the flavor of Japanese homestyle cooking, and the green onion just made it sing. I also really enjoyed the Bombay! My favorite food in the world is probably chicken tikka masala. This was very good, but closer in flavor Thai curry (as opposed to an Indian flavor). I loved the addition of fresh basil, even though that made it taste even MORE Thai. The Condesa--steak, caramelized onion, cilantro--is definitely the crowd-pleaser. It also contains just a drizzle of white queso, which I am a sucker for. I liked this one just okay the first time, but I ate another one cold, and it was absolutely fantastic. My husband says he enjoyed all of his tacos equally, in different ways. He liked the Santorini (he's Italian-American, so he has a soft spot for foods with Mediterranean flair), and he really enjoyed the Game Day, with the heat and snap of those jalapeños. I tried just a bite of Game Day, and I was wowed by the brisket. The chips arrived crisp and warm, and we really enjoyed the quesos! I enjoyed the white queso most--it has a really subtle, fresh flavor, and is suitable for dipping the end of a taco into--while my husband was instantly hooked on the "Seoul Food dip," which is their most straightforward, "classic," spiciest queso. Given its namesake, I'm pretty sure the heat comes from a condiment called "gochujang," which is simultaneously hot and sweet. We really wanted to try the other taco places in the area--you're so lucky to have so much taco competition!!--but we enjoyed Con Quesos so much, we ordered from here three different times. It is right off the interstate and there's plenty of parking. The staff is always helpful and friendly. I've tried a few different tacos and they all were amazing. The fried avocado one is a great vegetarian option. The flavors were spot-on. My favorite is definitely the Bombay. I love the way that everything is seasoned and the sauce they put on top is so good! Their queso is pretty great too. The plantation has sweet potatoes in it. It's not a pronounced flavor, it just adds a nice smooth creaminess to it. The Cozumel is by far my favorite. It has a punch of lime that I just love. Even the rice and beans taste great. Came to Fayetteville for cross country meet and the friends we were traveling with recommended this place. When we arrived at 2:30 there were quite a few people in line so we grabbed a menu. Menu is laid out nicely and everything looked delicious. At the location you order first and then they call your name to come pick up food. Wait time was about 10 minutes but well worth the wait. Only suggestions were to have another person on staff to help with orders and cleaning tables. The owner eventually came out to help and check on tables. My party tried different items, but it was a sad excuse for Tex-Mex, much less Mexican food. It's like they want to be Mexican food without really being Mexican. Normally that's Tex-Mex, but this is more hipster non-Mexican trying to cook Mexican. Hip-Mex sounds appropriate. read more

My husband and I just moved here from Texas, so our tastebuds may be accustomed to more flavor, but we were severely disappointed with our dinner at Con Quesos. Without nit picking the entire meal I'll just comment on the main issues, though our entire experience was less than ideal. My husband and I got the 4 taco plate with the Cozumel Queso (delicious Queso). They were definitely behind, although there were only 3 parties in the restaurant when we ordered, and it took a really long time for our food to come out. We expected at least the chips and queso tiestfor waiting so long but no. When we got our tacos all 4 were on the verge of cold, rice was hard, and beans were cold and had a crunchy top like they had already been sitting out. I received the wrong taco and let the cashier know and I incorrectly assumed they would bring me the correct taco so I only ate one taco. After my husband finished his meal and I finished the Queso I finally decided to just suck it up and eat the other taco. By that time the taco was definitely cold and the tortilla was cold and hard, I took one bite and we left. Went here for a gap meal to get me by until the next meal and that is exactly what this place is. It's a taco shop offering soft tacos of various kinds. I got a couple to try. One was beef and the other was shrimp. The shrimp was my favorite because it had a tangy sauce that really paired well with the shrimp and fried egg. The rest of the meal was pretty forgettable. The order taker talked me into getting salsa, spanish rice, and refried beans and those were definitely forgettable and not worth paying the extra money. I thought it was pretty expensive for what you get as well. We got three tacos, 3 tiny sides of the aforementioned salsa, refried beans, and spanish rice and one drink and our total was close to $17.
