Service was very good, drink menu is good with a variety of beers and cocktails- jalapeño margarita was delicious! Food is ok, nothing great. She crab soup was very salty; seafood chowder was watery; mahi sandwich was frozen fish with jar mango salsa on it. This restaurant is right off the beach with fantastic outdoor seating. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating. I ordered the grouper fingers and a cup of the she crab soup. Really enjoyed the grouper fingers, but would not recommend the soup. Very little crab, but tons of butter, cream and possibly cheese? My sister ordered the she crab soup too, and did not enjoy it. But she did like her crab cakes and the girls loved the shrimp; one had them fried and the other had them grilled. The restaurant was very busy, but it had plenty of seating and I could see that the other diners were enjoying their meals as well! All in all, I would definitely return! read more

Maybe I was feeling under the weather but last visit didn't agree with my belly. Always get the fried seafood platter...maybe a bad oyster this time? Not really sure. We've been to the Conch several times as our condo is right close by. New ownership in the last year and just some small things that are disappointing. Frozen drinks used to be the best, now they're pretty awful as they use a different drink mix brand from before, clearly a cheaper option. Two beers on tap has now become only one beer on tap. We went and asked what the "soup of the day" was yesterday and they didn't have one even though it's on the menu. Food is hit or miss, we've had some pretty awful meals in the last few times we've been there...and also some decent meals. There are just better options for dining in Surfside / Murrells Inlet, particularly since new ownership has come in. My feedback for them is that people notice the changes, particularly when it's generally a downgrade from what it was before. read more

Decided to give this place a try due to the reviews, it being only .5 miles from our condo, and the outdoor seating option that showed a nice view of the ocean. It was mediocre at best. We got seated outside but didn't see the beach as our table was located on the side not looking at the ocean. No big deal though it was still nice to sit outside. They only offer one draft beer which was a little disappointing. Biggest issue was the food. I had fish tacos and they just were not good. The tacos were very over cooked and dry. This place is all about location. Right on the beach with a terrific view of the Atlantic from the outdoor covered seating. Wonderful wonderful scenery. The food was food. Edible. Normal "pricey" for a tourist resort town like Myrtle Beach. The mahi on my sandwich was really good. Everything else was very much right off the wholesaler shelf...frozen crinkle cut fries dusted with Old Bay. Some sort of cream cocktail sauce in a plastic cup. The wife's coleslaw was from a tub. /shrug One thing to note, the codger out enforcing the parking lot entrance is a wonderfully prickly old crank. The food was more than average and tasty!! Should try their Reuben sandwich it was their special of the day! The corn beef was flavorful and tender with perfect a mount of sauerkraut and corn beef on marble rye bread. It was grilled perfectly with butter and toasty!! the sweet potato fries were pretty good pairing with the Reuben sandwich! . The tuna melt was nicely done and pretty tasty, cheeseburger was juicy and cooked the way we asked for, the conch BLT was a big sandwich with lots of deli meats and bacon. Also the conch fritter was their own unique appetizer and it was pretty good! The service was excellent and the restaurant sits by the water it had a nice ocean view and the beach! read more

What a great place for dinner. Two of our grands visiting from NC and wanted to eat outside. We got a table on the deck with very little waiting. Hannah was our server, she was amazingly attentive. Had beverage on the table in short order. Appetizers arrived quickly. Our dinners arrived after enough time to share our appetizers. Hubby and I had crab cake sandwich. Full of crab meat. Not too much filling but enough to hold it together. The grands had the flounder and the plate was overflowing. Really enjoyed all of it. Beautiful ocean breeze, people watched as the tide came in. I had my 2 1/2 year old grand son with me who had eaten prior to us going there. I ask if I could get 4 or 5 fries for him to eat while I ate. She would not do it. Delicious food, perfect beach view, great service! I had the crab cake sandwich, which was loaded with crab meat and came with a delicious remoulade and homemade chips. My husband had the mahi sandwich, which was super fresh, and fries. I felt like the pricing was very reasonable for the portion size and quality of seafood. We sat on the back patio and had a beautiful view of the beach and a relaxing breeze. Our waitress was super helpful and efficient. This is the only place we could find lunch actually on the beach. Service was good. Sitting on the porch was comfortable. Food was mediocre. Seafood salad was a lot of surimi rather than actual crab, a little bit of shrimp and bay scallops held together with mayo on a bed of lettuce. There was plenty of it, but it was incredibly bland. They seem to expect the view to give it flavor because otherwise there was none. read more

I'm in a Facebook group for Murrells Inlet and everyone kept posting what a great place Comch Cafw is to eat. Unfortunately I didn't have that experience. Ordered the grouper finger appetizer and they were ok, nothing great but ok. Had the combination shrimp and oysters and which was not good at all and I left it on the plate. Grease was burnt or either they really overlooked the shrimp and oysters. My friend had the flounder and it was the same. We have been staying in Surfside on vacation for about the last 10 years. Conch Cafe has been a family favorite. We arrived at the airport last night and drove straight there. They do not take reservations, but we were seated in about 15 minutes. My kids were happy to put their toes in the sand while we waited. I locked my shoes off and waded into the water and realized they had text me that our table was ready. All 5 of us got seafood. I had a salad that was fresh and crisp with raspberry vinegarette, and my mom and I shared the Fisherman's Feast. I thought it was quite affordable for what all you got. My daughter had the flounder dinner and it was sticking off both sides of her platter. Despite the decline in food quality/quanity for the price that we have seen in the past few years overall when dining out, Conch Cafe hasn't change. It is still our favorite. Eating seafood on the deck looking at the ocean with the breeze is magical. read more

I'd be up for another visit even though this occasion was underwhelming. Service was first rate even though the place was slammed. Our server was prompt and efficient. Drinks took a bit too long and my margarita wasn't worth the wait. I opted for the seafood salad and that was a poor choice. Nothing offensive just an uninspired flavor profile. Everyone else at our table was pleased with their meals. Atmosphere was decidedly beach casual with plenty of indoor and outdoor dining. A little extra effort and I would have given this place 4 stars. We ordered 3 appetizers, Buffalo shrimp, cocktail shrimp, and conch fritters. All were good. One in our party ordered mahi tacos. They were fine, not what you would get at a fish taco place, but not bad. They oddly had shredded yellow cheddar cheese all over the top like a regular beef taco. My wife and I ordered crab cakes, and crab cakes and grilled shrimp respectively. She said her shrimp was excellent, and we both enjoyed our crab cakes. Here comes the extra effort part; our entrees came with a vegetable. Not the choice of a vegetable, but a vegetable, which was fine. The vegetable was green beans. But just plain, unseasoned blanched or boiled green beans. It doesn't take much to sauté green beans in garlic, salt, and pepper. Here was an opportunity to present a nice dinner in all regards, but the individual seafood items were the only components that got the effort. The beer selection was pretty weak and the beer was served in plastic cups; another little details that can make a difference. read more

Although there was great scenery with good customer service, the food was terrible. Calamari was practically breaded rubber, shrimp was insanely salty and overall cooked very poorly, and they also had a gentleman going around taking pictures of families only to come back later with the printed out pictures asking if you'd like to pay 20-40 dollars for a picture(s) that looked right out of a photo booth. Frankly, it's a mediocre restaurant that uses its destination on the beach as an excuse to overcharge for piss poor food. read more

This place has AMAZING STAFF the customer service is 10/10. The view is 10/10 plus the food and drinks were a must have. Me and my family came in together recently and I had the Pasta A La Holly IT WAS PHENOMENAL! Would recommended! My siblings got the fish tacos and the grilled salmon and won't stop talking about it. To start the experience off the hostess we're extremely nice and accommodating, our server was so nice and helpful in making sure our experience was as good as possible, and the staff all around was there to make sure everything was as top notch as it possibly could be! read more

This was our first visit here and it was GREAT. Absolutely the BEST dinner we had the whole week of vacation. The she-crab soup was the best I've ever had. I had salmon with shrimp and it was phenomenal! No one in our party had any complaints other than portions where to large and we were stuffed. Service was awesome, Our waitress Megan was a gem. She answered all our questions and was beyond patient with my children (it wasn't their best day). Amazing atmosphere outside with it being right on the beach. Pretty busy place and a great location to view the beach while you eat. One downfall is their menu doesn't offer many options for people that don't eat seafood. It has plenty of options for the person in your group that enjoys seafood so that is a plus! We got greeted as soon as we got to the table and got our sweet teas a short time later, very good tea I should add. I ordered their chicken sandwhich but wondered why a type of sauce did not come on it. That being said I got some of their honey mustard to try with it. Once I got it the chicken had plenty of flavor but I still thought the honey mustard made it even better. I got a side of coleslaw but ended up wasting it because I wasn't into the flavor. I also I tried the flounder po boy my friend got and their fries which both were good.
