The food is well seasoned and delicious!! My favorite spot to come to when I come to Miami. Very authentic.

We were in the area and decided to stop on for a quick authentic Bahamian snack. We parked in the back of the building and accessed the building from the rear entry. From this entry point, takeout orders are placed in a designated area. We immediately noticed that there were renovations that had taken place since we were last in. There is a counter and a tv behind the bar that displays the live band that is on site in the main dining area! There were menus available for grabs across the bar and there are bar stools and a few tables available for you to occupy while you order and/or wait on your order. We ordered the seafood combination (3) which comes with 3 seafood options and a side order. We ordered double fried shrimp, cracked conch and a side of fries. The order is cooked to order, and was available in less than 10 minutes which is a plus. The order comes with a few pairing sauces, utensils and napkins.

I've had them bookmarked for years. I just decided to finally stop in. They were friendly when we came in. The air was booming! It was freezing in here, coming from a person who sleeps with air in the winter, from Chicago! Anywho, we dined in and ordered oxtails and jerk chicken. It took the food about 20mins to come out, but when it did, it was piping hot! Which I can definitely appreciate. I hadn't eaten all day, so I was eager to get this food in my belly. It didn't disappoint! My oxtails were very tender and seasoned really well. These were the best oxtails I've had in a restaurant in a very long time. Only negative, is their portions are a little small. They should up the price and give us more. It's ok, I just have to come back for more!!!

In on a Thursday at 5:30 for dinner. 3% Non Cash Adjustment. Music is loud. Second time here. Not busy. ORDERED: Conch Fritters (6) $7 Good Cracked Conch with 3 sides $25 Peas & Rice, Lettice & tomatoes & Johnny Cake. Cake very flat. Brought it home. I have had cracked conch in Miami and the Bahamas. This needed to be tenderized more. Very Chewy. Server Natesha did a good job. Will go back for something else.

The fried shrimp and fried conch is so flavorful despite it's price of $29.70. Too bad I realized after I drove off that they left off one of my 6 shrimp. Their posted sign in the pick-up area is: check your plate before leaving. Conch balls are excellent and the conch salad is refreshing. If wondering the type of fish served for boiled fish meal is grouper. It is expensive at $30 for a large 2-serving styrofoam takeout container.

Not too many places in Miami where you can get authentic Bahamian conch salad. This is one! This is as close as you're going to get to the islands.... The conch fritters were really good as well. They also have Sky Juice! And it's GOOD!

Captain Jim's has the freshest seafood in North Miami…read more We often dine in, but occasionally we've also taken fish or lobsters to grill when tailgating etc., and it's always way better and fresher than what we would have picked up anywhere else. Choosing which lobster or yellowtail from the ice counter you want them to prepare, and how you want it prepared, is a fun part of the dining experience for us. Occasionally they have hog snapper or another fresh catch available. The fried lobster tail was fantastically seasoned with a little kick, and I've never had it prepared this way, chopped up into bite-sized pieces. Very filling and we could have shared one, but we still managed to devour both tails and left very full and satisfied. Each tail, including one side, was about $40 - but market price items vary based on size and weight of what's available that day. There are also plenty of less expensive options on the menu. One of my favorites is the yellowtail sandwich. And if you get there before 7:00pm you can order some oysters and lobster croquettes from the happy hour menu. Captain Jim's is a casual and comfortable restaurant with marine decor where the food is the star. Service is always friendly, helpful, and attentive.

A quick heads-up: they are a takeout-only spot, but what they lack in seating, they more than make up in flavor. We ordered the conch and shrimp combo along with the conch and fish fingers combo, paired with they're special conch rice, collard greens and sweet potatoes, and of course, hubby couldn't resist a slice of their lemon cake. Guys, no photos needed here. Just know it was incredibly delicious fried goodness from start to finish. The greens come almost close to my hubby's...almost and the sweet potatoes screams comfort food at its best. Hubby was being a little greedy with his lemon cake but managed to share a sliver for me and even that was quite moist and nice texture. In fact, if any of my reviews show up without pictures, it's usually because the fingers attached themselves to the fork instead of the phone. The friendly lady at the counter was especially helpful for us first-timers, and the wait wasn't too long considering everything fried is cooked fresh to order. I can officially confirm that Shakers lives up to the hype. Crispy, flavorful, very well-seasoned, and worth the trip. Everything we heard was true so we'll definitely be back.

He went to the bathroom as he waited for his order, as he was coming out she was talking to another gentleman calling him cheap (he didn't want to say anything to prevent trouble). How do you run a business allowing your staff to talk bad about a customer that is disrespectful and unprofessional. He gets home open up his food and finds chicken meat. So he calls the lady up and is like I specifically ask you to make sure there was crabmeat and extra if you can. And she goes I didn't have any so I put chicken meat. He then advised her if he told her he didn't want to order chicken so he order LaLo to get a different meat besides chicken. The sad part was it wasn't even a whole chicken, it was a crumble piece of chicken (that was just tossed in there) and half the top shell of the crabmeat (just a shell). Interior: As soon as I walked in I was shocked how small this place is. This is a take out restaurant only. The location in Atlanta is much bigger and have dine in tables and a full bar. Much nicer than this one. The Opa Locka location only have a few chairs to sit down to wait for your order. As you walk in you immediately see the order counter. They have their menus on the wall and to go menus on the counter. Nothing special inside. Food: I ordered the shrimp platter that came parsley potatoes and garlic corn. And 6pc lemon pepper wing and fries. The shrimp platter was okay. The wings were ridiculously small. It was $11 for tiny baby wings. They really shouldn't sell no one wings that tiny. I was definitely disappointed when I opened my box. It tasted more like salt & pepper wings rather than lemon pepper. I tasted a bunch of salt. The fries were a bit salty too. Location: Its located in a plaza. Right next door to a Spanish bakery and a banquet hall. The parking is decent but depending on how busy the plaza is you may not get front door parking of course. Customer service: I was greeted immediately when I walked in. It was two people working in the front, a girl and guy, they both was nice. After I ordered, the girl told me it will be about 15-20mins for my food. Which I kinda expected a bit of a wait. Despite the horribleness of the food, the customer service is what made me give this place a 3 star.

My husband ended up getting the conch (he had it 3 different ways in the Bahamas and wanted to try it here) and shrimp in the creole sauce with fried rice and botanas. I got the lobster and shrimp in the scampi sauce with the fried rice and black beans. PLUS our server threw in a side salad for free. I will say this is a TON of food. I couldn't finish it all and it made me sad because we had to go to the airport right afterwards so I couldn't take the leftovers with me. The lobster was cooked well and the shrimp were huge. Love the scampi sauce. if you like garlic, this is for you. The fried rice is seafood fried rice. It has shrimp, scallops and maybe other seafood in it and it is a large portion.
