This spot was highly recommended by several of my friends. Finally had the chance to stop by and try, although this is not what i would eat for breakfast , i had to try it for myself. My husband and I took our in-laws here for breakfast this morning. Anytime my father-in-law comes into town. He likes to eat here however, my husband and my father-in-law were sorely disappointed with their breakfast today. They always order the same thing, boil fish and grits. However, the fish was old and hard. When my father-in-law mentioned it to the server, she basically told him it was his fault because he wanted it extra hot and she had to put it in the microwave and that's why the fish was hard. I need for this and all black owned restaurants to do better with service. She should have said at the very least, " sir I apologize and I'll let the chef know". Besides that, we waited a ridiculous amount of time before she even brought us menus. Although she seemed to be the only server the, it wasn't especially crowded or busy, so the initial wait time didn't make sense. And when you see us seated and waiting a long time, what's the harm in saying "Hi, good morning I'll be right with you", Instead of just having us sitting there, looking around . Everything was absolutely amazing. The only downsides to my visit were that our food came out sporadically. I and another person in my group were almost finished with our food by the time the plates for the others in my party received theirs. And the other was that I was told that the lady who makes the conch batter hadn't arrived yet, and that was the main thing on the menu I was craving and wanted to try. It was 12pm when my party dined. Would've given it 5 stars otherwise. So my advice would be to call ahead of time to make sure what you'd like on the menu is available. read more

On overlooked gem, the food was fresh and delicious. I had fried snapper, over-easy eggs (instead of grits) and toast and loved it. Don't waste your time or money here. The service here is abysmal. I came here on a Saturday morning and my group wasn't even greeted and sat down when we arrived. It took 20 minutes for the waiter to even bring us a menu and we had to ASK for it. No one offered us any drinks. Our food and the food of the other patrons came sporadically. The food for the entire table should ALWAYS come at the same time. The waitress waited until she had already given two people at our table their food (again, 15 minutes apart) to tell the third person at our table that they didn't have anymore of what she had ordered. The food was mediocre and bland. The waitress was not apologetic nor attentive. I try to patronize black businesses whenever I can but I will never come here again. read more

Ooooh this place was good. It is a small restaurant located in the cut in liberty city. They were previously located on 54th Street. The food still tastes the same. Staff is a little slow but they are responsive to your every need. The waitress we had asked if everything was ok and said yes sir ma'am and thank you. You don't get that often and it was very appreciated. While I perused the menu I noticed I could order salmon croquettes as a side. Yep this place was placed I. My salmon croquette competition for the best. They were full of fish with very little filler. Bahamian Pot is reigning!!!!!! The abundance of food was huge. I had boiled fish (traditional Bahamian dish), grits and Johnny Cake. This dish is only served on Saturday and Sunday and if you want fish head or wings you need to go early. This local business was a life saver! My taste buds and appetite have been at odds lately....BUT today after finding this restaurant; I think i'm back in the game! I called the order in and spoke to Racquel (hope I spelled it right) she was ever so pleasant and PATIENT! She took her time and answered all of my questions and gave me insight on the menu. Always looking for something different, I stopped in to this place for a bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised by the warm service and incredible food. Not knowing what to order, I asked my server what she recommended and I received an incredible meal. Drove out of the way to visit this place. It seems that it's in liberty city right on the edge of the interstate 95. Don't let the areas feel sketchy or spook you. These folks are wonderful people and very welcoming. I was not able to get my conch fritters because it was early but they suggested conch and grits. That sounded very interesting to me so I tried it. It was absolutely delicious and they give you huge pieces of conch. I can only imagine how delicious everything else's. I showed up just as they were closing though so I only got the fried fish and plantains. A simple dish, but that was all I needed.
