When you see a sign that says "No refunds", that should have been a clue lol. We ordered two fried conch dinners with Mac and cheese, collard greens , peas and rice and mixed veggies. I must say that the cracked conch was fresh and tender however the sides were not as tasty. The Mac and cheese was okay but both the mixed veggies and collard greens had a sweet taste to them so I could only assume that sugar was added. This was disappointing. So I was in the mood for some fried conch and decided to check my seafood collection for some nearby restaurants that I haven't tried yet and came across this one that I'd previously saved. I decided to just go there and place my order instead of calling it in. The menu online was kind of limited and sometimes there in store menu has a little more. However, when I got there they were out of a lot of things so my choices were limited. Although all I really wanted was fried conch and conch salad. Luckily for me they had one of the two. So I ordered my fried conch which by the way only comes in one size; 1/4 pound. I did want more but I wasn't about to order to 1/4 at $11 an order. Which I think is why they do that so that people order more than one order. I was so excited to get home and mad that I forgot to ask for my conch to be fried hard. However none the less, I got home and tried my conch. By itself, it does have any taste. No season and no flavor. Orogjnally from Miami and Conch has always been one of my favorites but living in Texas it's not common. Had a taste for some Conch went here since it was close to my mom's house I have them a shot.. Issue One: Called to place my order for a small conch & fries "Everything is made to order, when you arrive we cook takes 15 mins" ok cool but why? I just wanna get my food and go that's why I called. Issue Two: They don't take anything larger then a $20 and charge 3.5% for Credit/Debit :-(. Issue Three: .50 cent charge for the extra conch sauce which is hot sauce and mayo. Issue Four: This is the biggest issue FOOD SUCKS. Ordered Conch & Fries got Crumbs & Fries! Best Conch Salad I've had in my many trips back to SoFL lots of conch! The fried conch has big pieces but sadly no flavor on the breading, coleslaw & the potato salad was good! Super friendly owner! A solid 3 stars...good food...not the best I've had but its doable! Well I only had the cracked conch but I liked it. It was very tender, wasn't overly seasoned, wasn't over fried, and it was a decent portion. I'll be honest though...I was kinda fooled. I opened my container and thought to myself, "Wow! That's a lot of conch for $13!" But then, when I got home, I realized there was a large serving of rice underneath. I kinda picked over the rice as it's not the best Bahamian rice I've eaten. The cabbage was WAY over cooked but it has potential. The flavor isn't bad at all. I also had a side of mac n cheese which was decent. Honestly, my main reason for stopping in was for the conch and I got my fill on it. It was good and I am satisfied. I wouldn't brag on the sides. They were really just ok. One thing though...I waited at least 25 minutes for my food. I suggest calling it in as I saw people arrive just to pick up orders they'd called in advance. Next time, I'll do that. Disappointing but edible. Anytime I'm in Miami, I have to stop at the nearest Bahamian restaurant and order conch fritters, salad or cracked conch. Living in Atlanta, the proximity from the state to the island is well over 600 miles so I get it here since it's way more fresher. This restaurant happened to be in the neighborhood of a family relative and I was getting hungry so I stopped in to take a look at the menu. The decor is island inspired, giving you the feel of being in Bahamas listening to island music and having a good time. The place is pretty popular; I had two patrons ahead of me before I ordered and others were coming in to pick up. I settled on the conch fritters and a side of rice. It took about 15-20 minutes. The fritters came hot so I'd assume they're made cook to order; I think you get about 6-8. In summary, they were ok. I could taste plantains in the breading which I'm not a fan of so you may not want to order if you despise them. The rice was dry and hard. Sigh. My order was to go so I didn't try it before I left. I could've taken it back but that would've required driving back 15 minutes for rice and it wasn't worth it.
