They arrived on time day of and everything went smoothly getting me to the ferry! The beach is right across the street from the field though (walkable and the friendly people working here might even be able to give you a lift). No instrument approaches or fuel and the strip is on the shorter side (2500ft or so) so triple checking your landing distances on hot days. Hard to beat the beauty of a beach across the street though so it's worth a visit!

And other times I use them. I have not been disappointed. I'm sometimes disappointed with the clientele since they all seem to take more than one seat. I wish there would be announcements and conductors who ask people to take their bags off the seat.

Know what to expect!…read more Lots of fond memories at the Greenport LIRR station as its the last connection with the city before you're ferried off to the magical island of Shelter, but enough about my memories. It's a small station which only accommodates 2 double decker cars coming out of Ronkonkoma. The station and facilities for that matter are bare to the bone and on your return trip to the city you'll be buying your tickets on board (no machines for purchasing on the platform). If you're coming back west, make sure to get to the train early, during peak season give yourself 20+ minutes and don't be that person who puts their luggage on the seats. Otherwise getting to Greenport and the North Ferry, the LIRR is one of the easiest ways to travel.
