Love this place because the honest service. I've taken both of my cars here on separate occasions. I took my car here bc my check engine light came on, they told me the issues should be covered under warranty and I should take it to the dealership instead, bc they would likely do the work for free. I don't know much about cars, they could have easily not told me that and charged me who knows how much. These are good honest people, and also good at what they do. Went to check for a servicing of the a/c system for a '99 Acura CL. I waited awhile while owner apparently finished a conversation with 2 people sitting at his desk and only after waiting for a bit I popped my head in the office and ask 'should I make an appointment to discuss the service' then B broke away from his conversation....all good.... I present my service request to check my ac for the '99 Acura CL Owner(B) starts quoting a $120-$140 charge to review the ac unit... I was a bit taken back as that seemed way over the market rate. $59-$85 is range to service a a/c unit from SJ to SF I asked what was the shop's hourly rate/rates for service; (usually posted per Bureau of Automotive Repair)...not according to B....he stated 'no posted hourly rate...for ac service it is $140 per hour'. What a cavalier attitude, with no friendly type manner of service involved, perhaps the business is so good B can act like this. I will not be back. I was able to locate a local repair firm who addressed my request professionally and with appropriate labor rates. read more

It's hard to find good mechanics to work on some simple problems these days, especially so during the pandemic, so I would say that they did a decent and honest job to replace the front CV boots, and offered me a free oil change service. It's a bit pricey for the job but we are in California; go figure. No shuttle service for me unfortunately so I had to ask my wife to drop me off for the repair and the pickup. Excellent, fast, friendly work. I showed up here this morning with a very vague explanation of the problem with my car. Within about 5 minutes, they had diagnosed the problem and found a good part nearby at a reasonable price. It's obvious they have strong connections in the community and they pay that forward to the customer. I also had them do an oil change and more thorough inspection. They found improvements but weren't pushy on things that didn't need to be done right then. When a mechanic says something could wait at least 4-5 months, I feel like I can trust them. They aren't just racking up my one-visit bill. The final price with labor was completely reasonable. I will absolutely continue to use and recommend them. read more

Concord Auto Service (CAS) took 3 phone calls from me regarding a fuel smell occurring within my 2003 Altima. CAS listened to my descriptions of the problem and the diagnosis I had done in order to identify the problem. Rather than trying to rush my car into CAS for service, CAS actually made some recommendations of some additional diagnosis which I could do before bringing my car in. As a result of CAS's patience with me, I was actually able to identify that the top of my fuel pump had a micro crack in it, and I was able to replace the pump on my own. Based upon the interaction I had with CAS, it is my impression that they are an honorable company and treat potential clients and clients with respect and honesty. read more

The owner of this shop is a liar and avoids accountability for mistakes he knowingly made. I had to have an Intoxalock device installed and he installed a glitchy device in my car. I had to call to get my glitching device reset and he told Intoxalock that he can't work on my car because I have dog hair in my car and he is allergic. This comes after me talking with him about dogs which he claimed to have one of. What a scumbag. Not only will he not take accountability for his error, but then he was willing to lie to cover it up. I brought in my Dodge Stratus after the ABS light had been on for a couple weeks. Ken had it up on the rack and diagnosed in an hour or two. Apparently, when I drove with chains on the tires up in Mammoth the chains had torn the wire to the ABS sensor. Oof. On top of that, the brake pads on the front tires were worn down to an eighth of an inch, and the brake pads in the back were completely gone, so it was just metal on metal. OOF! Ken was frank with me, not just offering the best brake pads, but also the cheaper ones. He was clear that they weren't as good, and wouldn't last as long, but he understood that times weren't so easy. I was ready to go for the cheaper ones, but my dad rolled in like a knight in shining armor and bailed me out. Even though he had to specially order the ABS cable, I was still able to drive my car out of there the next day. Next time I go to Mammoth, I'm renting a car! read more

My car was making humming sound from suspension. Ken took the car out and suggested front driver side bearing. After $500 plus job done, problem didn't go away. The issue was misdiagnosed and I was already in hole for the money spent unnecessarily. I took the car back to ken and he told me change the tires. I went to tire shop and the said tires still have 20k life and they in good shape. Later I got the other side bearing changed by another shop and problem was fixed. I didn't appreciate ken not willing to take accountability for his work and stand behind it rather made me go in circles. Learned hard way never to back there and let others know. read more
