We leased a car in 2020, and at that time the process, from coming in, test driving, negotiating, signing -- took about 3 hours. Pretty exhausting. Today we are here to buy out our lease. No negotiating, no test drive, simple right? Well we had a 10:30 am appt and for no particular reason we are being held prisoner, still waiting to be able to sign the paperwork after over 2.5 hours. They are not busy. Apparently the two people they have who can do paperwork here have been tied up for over an hour? Not sure why everything leading up to this took almost two hours, but it did. It's Sunday morning, and we had an appointment. I call BS. Don't go here. It sucked the first time, and I am actually mad that this salesperson is getting a fat commission while he sits here and does nothing while we waste 3+ hours of our Sunday. Outrageous. I purchased a vehicle from Honda of concord, it was used and they told me when I bought it to come back tomorrow to pick it up so that they can fix the brake system, one month later the the front rotors and all the brakes needed replacement, then another month goes pass and the transmission is slipping, and the warranty they sold me covered non it, I had to pay for repairs out of my pocket, and they won't even let me replace the car with another one, so I'm stuck with a lemon car! This has been one of the worst experience I ever had in life, these people don't even care, they are bad business and I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to do business with them, this is totally messed up read more

Do NOT....I repeat....DO NOT...purchase a vehicle from Concord Honda. I was interested in a used 2021 Bronco Sport that they had advertised. Well of course when they want to sell you something EVERYONE is calling and communicating with you as if you are the most important person in the state. However, this is where communication, customer service and support ENDS. I drove to Concord (an hour 1/2 away) on 3/12/24 to purchase the Bronco. I arrived and was greeted warmly (of course). I test drove the vehicle and it all seemed to go well. Filled out paperwork and paid for the vehicle and was sent on my way. Sounds like a great start, at least I thought so. But then I get the car home and a few days later I start to notice this HORRIBLE noise when I'm backing up and I touch the brakes. Great, what can this be? The vehicle has been in my possession for a few days. So, I'm thinking, well maybe it's just cold since I work remotely and don't do a major amount of driving outside of work. Wishful thinking...probably. Then on 3/27/24, which is 2 weeks from my purchase, I blew a tire. Well, this is just lovely, I rant at my passenger in the car. Not only is my car making this noise, and I need to get it checked, but now I've blown a tire. So as the tire is being removed by roadside assistance, I'm looking at the tread on the tire that blew as well as the other tires, and guess what.....none of the tread is good on them. You may be asking, "did you see the tread when you went to pick it up". Honestly, I didn't look at the time because I assumed at a "dealership" they would be honest with their inspections, replace what honestly needed replacing, and treat their customers as they would expect to be treated. I know.....BIG MISTAKE. I had to take the Bronco into the local tire dealership and have ALL FOUR tires replaced due to the tread being so bad and what the tire dealership deemed as "unsafe". Well, they didn't have to tell me that....I could see the tread. I called Concord Honda and asked to speak to my Sales Rep. It took me a couple of days to get ahold of her. When she called, she took the info and said she would check with a manager, and they would call on Monday. Monday came and guess what....no call. I call her back and she states that the tire dealership lied to me to sell me 4 tires and the tires were at 6 tread depth when Concord inspected it. She doesn't know what the noise is, so basically there is nothing to be done. I asked her how they could even possibly say the tires went from a 6 to 2's and 3's in a couple of weeks. Again, she said, "there's nothing to be done". After getting off the phone, I drove by a mechanic to have him listen to the noise and first thing he said was, "it's your brakes." He looked at my rear brake pads and he then advised me that the rear brake pads were "SHOT". I asked him, "How can the brake pads go from "being good" to "SHOT" within a few days - 2 weeks of getting the vehicle home." He told me they don't. So now I know that Concord Honda let me leave the lot with unsafe tires and breaks that were SHOT. So, I call and ask to speak with a manager. The person answering stated he was a manager. I explained in detail that I left the lot with a vehicle that had unsafe tires as well as brake pads that were shot. He followed the lead of the sales rep and told me that there was nothing to be done because this can happen to any vehicle. I said to him, "that is ridiculous to even say that a vehicle can go from 6 to 2's / 3's and brake pads can go from "fine" to "shot" in that time frame and something should be done." Again, he stated nothing could be done and I would be responsible for the cost of the tires and the brake pads. Right now...I have another call in to see if someone in that dealership has a morsel of honesty and integrity. Right now, I have not seen it. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. If I could leave a negative star review I would. I am a first time car-buyer and I was treated extremely poorly I understand they are trying to make sales but the way they went about it was rude and unprofessional. It felt like a scam from the minute we entered the building. Carolina M. Ganiban is not someone I would go to if looking to finance or ask questions regarding a car you're interested in as all it appeared was that both her and her general manager Manjot Malhi did not appreciate my interest nor were willing to work with me and lacked professionalism simply because I wanted to know the interest rates offered and both spoke poorly to me when I had asked questions. They also did not even take the time to possibly offer me another car when they said I should look for another and once we left I noticed on their website they had another car for less and was what I was looking for but did not even mention it. I knew they just wanted to screw me over from the get-go. In addition they also said they do not give any information regarding the cars or interest rates over the phone hence demonstrating they wanted to screw me over and make me purchase a car without possibly bargaining slightly. I was told the service to replace my recalled airbag would be 1.5 hours. It was over 3 hours. Then I left the service station and drove a few minutes before I realized that now the airbag light was on, something that was not on when I drove it to be repaired. Also, the part of the steering wheel where the airbag is located was no longer plush with the rest of the steering wheel. I believe it was more dangerous now than when I went it to get the recall part replaced. I ran my quick Costco errand and then returned. I was told to leave the car on because they would fix my car right away. I didn't like the idea of leaving the car on so I turned it off. That was a smart move because after 1/2 hour I noticed it was still there and not being fixed. I would have wasted a lot of gas. Fuming, I asked them why my car hadn't moved. That's when I found out that the technician who installed it IMPROPERLY was out to lunch so they made the car sit there waiting for him. I told them that it was completely unprofessional to not fix the car immediately...get another technician. They got the original technician's supervisor to fix the car. The light is now off and it sits plush. Why they couldn't get it right the first time is beyond me. They even "sent photos" by email to make sure everything was fine (that was the excuse for the original long wait time). I had a bad experience with this service station 5 years ago where they tried to sell me on a $1200 diagnostic test plus a lot of other things, and this was my first time back. After that experience I took the car to another service station that said the $1200 engine diagnostic would cost me only $30. From now on I will only go back for other recall items, but I will never spend another dime. Incompetency runs amok here. If I could give no stars I would. read more

I had an excellent service experience with this place. I have a Honda 2017. The low tire pressure indicator kept coming up the day after I just took my car to Honda Fremont to replace a flat tire and I was told they checked everything and I was good to go. I commute 3 hours daily for work. An reliable car is extremely important to me. As soon as I got to work, I called Concord Honda and set up an appointment for lunch hour to take my car in. By the time i got there, there were so busy, but I couldn't wait because I missed the freeway exit to the place and only had a few minutes left before going back to work. Rafael Orellana, the service director, learned about my situation, he offered a ride, but no other service person available, Rafael did it himself and I was able to get back to work in time. They fixed my car problem and my car is working perfectly since then. Without going into too much details, during the process, Rafael demonstrated professionalism, understanding the urgency, compassion for what I was going through and made sure my car was fixed and safe to drive. AVOID CONCORD HONDA!!!! I purchased a 2016 Honda in Sept '19 on a Saturday. By the following Wednesday, I had it serviced at Fairfield Honda for transmission issues. I called Concord Honda on Monday and Tuesday when the problem first came up. Never got an answer from the service dept. Tuesday afternoon I decided to give Fairfield a call and they answered right way and made an appt for the next morning. I reported to Fairfield that the car would not accelerate when pressing the gas at times nor would it reverse at times. My wife was almost involved in an accident the first time this happened because she was in able to accelerate. After inspection, Fairfield stated that the car was very low in transmission fluid and the fuel injectors were clogged. I agreed to have it serviced through them as I didn't want to risk driving it to concord on the freeway and having to wait for the service dept to answer their phone. Total cost of repair was around $350. After bombarding Concord with phone calls for two days to get in touch with a manager, I was finally put through to Roy. I told him my issues and I would ask that they reimburse me for the service I paid for at Fairfield. Roy said he would bring it up at a meeting on Friday and would see what he could do. I asked if the cars are inspected when turned in for sale and he said yes but only for safety issues. I guess transmission fluid isnt a safety issue nor a simple task for this dealership to check the level. He went on to say he would call me by 2pm on Friday with an answer. Well Friday 2pm comes and goes and no call. I ended up talking to my sales person at 6 who was able to get me a store credit for amount. Roy never called me to discuss what was decided as a manager should after stating they would. Roy's lack of communication and falling through on his word shows poor costumer service skills and unprofessionalism. That same week, the battery also had to be replaced because the car kept dying as well. Now, the cars display that shows the odometer and fuel gage goes in and out of service. Save your money and go to a different dealer. 1) Their hourly rate 30% higher than nearby dealer 16 miles away 2) Their quote to fix the exact same problem is TWICE as much as near by dealer. 3) Went in to inquire about seat belt that "deployed" (after running over a curb) because seat belts are suppose to be under lifetime warranty. I already knew the problem because it was diagnosed at my local shop, told them the problem with a simple question about warranty. Not only did they deny the warranty.... they charged me 190$ for a "diagnostic" for a problem that I told them about! Plugging in a computer to spit out some error codes should not cost 190$! 4) They are still charging 10K over MSRP on the cvic type R that is sitting and rusting in their show room......... This review is for the Sales department. Be aware - if you're a customer who values honest business, like me. Today is 9/5 (Thursday). I bought a Certified Pre-owned (CPO) 2019 Honda Civic Sport Sedan at Concord Honda dealership, and picked it up on 8/31 (Saturday). I love the car a lot. It is in fact my 1st Honda CPO, so I treat it as my new baby. After driving for 3 days (mainly local), it showed "low tire pressure", so I took it to a tire shop. The tire shop said there's an air bubble on the inner wall of the left front tire, which was not visible to me during the purchase unless taken the tire off because it's facing the inside of the car. The tire shop told me that with the way I drove (mostly local, low speed, did not run into any pothole in high speed, did not have any significant hit on big rocks which driver would definitely notice), it's impossible to cause a tire like that in 3 days less than 100 miles. I asked them what would be some possible causes. They said it had to be a significant hit (e.g. pothole) in high speed (75+ mph) or rolled over significant big rocks to cause that, which I don't recall ever happen in the past 3 days, otherwise I'd definitely notice, esp. I've been driving it so carefully since I bought it. After they knew it's a Certified Pre-owned (CPO), they all said it didn't feel right and they're reluctant to sell me new tire (they could but they didn't want to because simply it wasn't right). All of them asked me to take it back to my dealer. I even went to another tire shop for 2nd opinion. And interestingly, they said the EXACT SAME THING! They said - Very likely it was there BEFORE. So, I called my dealer, Greg, and sent him pictures of the tire condition. After he talked to the Used Car Manager, Shane, he called me back. He said that as it's a CPO, they have inspected the tires and would have noticed it if there's any problems. He suggested that the problem probably occurred after delivery. He said there's nothing he could do on his side, but asked me to buy a new tire at a nearby tire shop myself. So I contacted three other tire shops, asking for a quote and showing them my tire condition. Interesting enough - now all FIVE tire shops that I talked to actually said the same thing - that it's very unlikely my fault in 3 days (low speed, low miles, did not run into any pothole/ big rocks otherwise would have known since it needs to be a SIGNIFICANT HIT to cause that) but rather a possible OVERLOOK of a FAULTY TIRE during the car inspection by the dealer. All of them urged me to talk to my dealer instead of just taking my money to get me new tire! Despite numerous communication calls with Greg to attempt to solve the problem, they REFUSE to offer ANY ASSISTANCE at all, but only denying responsibility. Now, I need to pay $230+ for a brand new tire, for a Certified Pre-owned car that I just got 3 days ago! All of these appeared scammy to me. We, customers, paid the extra dollars for a Certified Pre-owned because we believe that these cars have been thoroughly checked out and are in great condition. We are paying extra for a peace of mind. But now, I was only left feeling cheated to deal with this DISHONEST and IRRESPONSIBLE dealership, not to mention all the hassle I needed to go through, with loss of time, energy, and extra money. Greg was a good salesperson that he explained everything well and clear, and he even went above and beyond to make sure I was happy about the car during the purchase process. It's unfortunate this problem happened to me and I had to deal with it with no assistance offered by this dealership (compared to other dealership's attitude of "let me take care of it"). I have purchased and or leased several Honda Vehicles at the Concord dealership in the past. My recent experience in buying a used vehicle there has been an absolute nightmare!! The vehicle was for my daughter. From the very beginning with her emailing the on line sales person Ali to the financial guy who we signed the papers with both lied and told us something we would get, but in no way was the information correct and we were told something and got something totally different! We were miss led and lied to and deceived. Even when we went to make several calls and went in person to resolve the issues no one would see or help us till after the "10"days you have to rectify issues which they give before you can return a car. It's apparent fraud was involved. Only then were they rude and unhelpful! I guess a new general manager is now in place who offered to help us return the car. "Chi" appeared to help and take back the vehicle. Only to find out they did some more shady stuff with the DMV. Funny that Chase is asking us what they did?? Needless to say it's being taken up legally now!! Oh and if they tell you the Complete Theft is put on all their cars and have you pay for it. It's voluntary but they make you think you still have to pay!! You have the right to not pay for it even if they say it's on all their cars!! Please choose another dealer because they are not honest!! Never in a million years would I expect Concord Honda to do this to me!! Whether you consider yourself an expert on cars, know nothing about cars, or in-between, DON't bring your car here. Their service staff is run by a bunch of kids who are literally just salesmen and know (seemingly) very little about cars. I knew there was an issue with my CV axle and figured it likely had to be replaced. I didn't mention this to my "service representative" just to see if they would catch it. As far as I told them, I was in for B1 service (oil change, tire rotation, "inspection" and "fluid check" only). Including the oil change and tire rotation, they recommended a more than $1,000 suite of "maintenance services" (transmission flush, filter replacements - which I do myself, and bunch of other nonsensical items). I opted for the oil change and tire rotation only for a hefty cost (~$180, which did include "free inspection"). Now I take my car to a real mechanic who checked all of my fluids (months after seeing Honda and with many miles driven in-between). He said all were fine and I had several thousand miles before I needed to consider replacement. TL;DR: Honda Service Reps aren't knowledgeable and are MUCH more salesmen than they are mechanics or knowledgeable about mechanics. Save yourself money, stay away. read more

First and last time. I should've know when they had oil changes the next day when our Honda dealership in el Cerrito was out a week and a half. We brought our Honda that we've had only about a year to get an oil change and an oil change only. When he came to tell us that our car was almost ready he said our rear tire was in an unrepairable state and that we would need a new one and that they recommend we get all four replaced at the same time. I told him we drove here perfectly fine and no sensor was on stating that it was flat and that it drove smooth. He then looked at the paper and said "maybe it's a slow leak that's why" I only came for an oil change and did not ask for anything else to be looked at. So pretty odd that my tire is in "unrepairable" and in "immediate" need of all four new tires. I'll take this as a lesson learned to never come back. Even if they deliberately damaged my rear tire, I will not be getting it fixed by them. read more

I brought my wife's car in for an oil change and investigation for a noise. The car is a 2017 civic 1.5T, still under mfg warranty(only 12900 miles) . The good news is that they found the issue with the noise(sway links and control arms were replaced) and did an oil change. We picked the car up last Wednesday (6/12) and proceeded to take on a trip to Oregon. We had heard a scraping noise while driving it when we first picked it up but attributed to the road unevenness. It got worse and worse and I was finally able to look at car last night. The skid plate is all bent out of shape. Keep in mind that they performed an oil change prior to us going on this road trip. I called concord Honda this morning to set up an appt to have this looked at. The service advisor, of course said that if it was our fault- we will fix it. He also said that I should speak to Sergio who is the manger for service. I brought the car in today, spoke with Sergio who again said If it's our fault we will repair it. Car was put up on a lift where Sergio proceeded to tell me that it wasn't their fault and that it was something we hit. None too pleasant words were exchanged. They are dishonest and deceitful. He harped on the fact that they didn't need to remove the skid plate but it is only removed during an oil change. When I kept on pointing out that they did indeed do an oil change, he veered off topic to harp on the topic of hitting things while driving. He is a smug and arrogant service manager who has people work for him that do dishonest things to drum up business. I would highly recommend that you think twice before bringing your car in here for any type of service. I did call Honda Customer Care who essentially said that they go by what the dealer tells them, which explains the arrogance Concord Honda has towards customers. Customers have no recourse for warranty repai Update- spoke to rep at Sonic Auto Group and lodged a complaint. I contacted Duane at A1 Auto repair here in concord ( awesome and honest) and asked him to replace the skid plate which he did. He noticed that the 2 bolts in the front were missing and that there was a broken bolt(which they tried to drill out) towards the back of the skid plate cover. They had used a cable tie to secure this. Another example of the shoddy work. I have attached pictures of they damage. I have contacted Sonic again and will update once I hear back. Update 7/1/19- my wife and I spoke to Rafael Orellana( service director at Concord Honda) on 6/27 to explain the issue we were having. My wife and I could not be more pleased that he was willing to take the time to understand the issue and take care of it .We were reimbursed for the out of pocket expenses incurred and today(7/1) the broken bolts were repaired. The resolution was a prime example of a class company taking care of the customer. They have restored my faith. read more

I've gone to Concord Honda before for repairs on my previous Accord Coupe and had been satisfied with their work, albeit a little on the higher cost end. I felt OK with their slightly higher cost for service because I took comfort in knowing the job was done right. However, this was a few years ago (2013 to be exact). Flash forward to today and still owner of an Accord Coupe in need of some maintenance. So having had previous work done well at Concord Honda I made an appointment to get some needed maintenance. My adviser was Wasif and I told him that along with some other maintenance work I wanted to get done (All belts and hoses replaced, water pump and radiator replaced) I also wanted to get my oil leak diagnosed. Wasif told me they would give my engine a thorough check to diagnose were the oil leak was coming from. I got a call later from Wasif stating the technician looked at my engine and recommended replacing my oil pan and gasket first to fix the oil leak (an extra $350). So, trusting Concord Honda had given my engine a good look over, I told the service advisor (Wasif) to go ahead and replace the oil pan and gasket. Not an inexpensive repair to say the least. Well, after driving my car for a few days I got under it to check to see if in fact replacing the oil pan and gasket had fixed my oil leak. To my dismay it had not. In fact there seemed to be more oil now on the bottom of the engine not just on the outside of the oil pan itself. Needless to say I was pretty upset that the expensive diagnostic and repair of my oil leak had not solved the problem. Again $355 out the door for this service. Anyway, I followed up on the continued oil leak by showing my engine to two other independent mechanics. When I told one tech that Concord Honda had recommended the replacement of my oil pan he looked at me kinda funny and said "all you've got to do is LOOK and you can see the oil leak is coming from the top of the engine!" The other mechanic told me after looking at my engine that you just had to "follow the oil leak to its source and you can tell it's not coming from the oil pan!" I followed the mechanics advice and took my car to Honda Specific in Fairfield and they DIAGNOSED my oil leak after apparently looking at the engine. Cost of repair...$200. Two weeks later my engine is dry with no oil anywhere! By the way Concord Honda, my engine had two small leaks no where near the oil pan! But this was not the only item that caused me consternation with Concord Honda. After checking the work they had specifically done (replacing all my belts being one of them) I noticed they had in fact not replaced one of my belts (see pic) that they documented they did replace and had charged me for it. So needless to say, I won't be going back to Concord Honda service department EVER again. And if Concord Honda reads this review feel free to ship me my new Drive belt you charged me along with a refund for the labor cost because the old one is still on my engine! read more

Sadly I must update my prior review. My prior review was for the purchase of our 2019 Passport. We had a wonderful experience during our purchase. The plan was to be back in 3-4 yrs for another purchase. I have been looking for a newer Civic or Accord and have been in communication with sales and had planned on going back to Concord Honda for our next buying experience. We've taken our Passport back for oil changes and tires and have had great experiences. This all changed recently. I was made aware of a service bulletin regarding a software update for my older Accord. I made an appointment and took the car in. I was told I needed a diagnostic. I did the diagnostic against my better judgment. A couple hundred dollars later I was told of another issue with my vehicle, mind you, the service (software update) I requested was not done. After talking with my mechanic, he suggested I take it back and have them do the software update. I made an appointment and spoke with my advisor, Javier. I was told it was going to be $200+ which was the same price as the diagnostic that I paid for a few weeks prior. Javier said he talked to the service manager who refused to budge on the price at all. I ended up leaving unsure what to do. I was totally taken advantage of for being a woman. Why did it take a man to take my car in and request the update to get it done? I am simply disgusted and although this experience was with service and not sales or finance, I don't feel my trust can be put into Honda Concord as a whole, especially on such a major purchase. I should be refunded the cost of the diagnostic that I never requested. I know that will never happen. Hopefully this will not happen to anyone else, although I know that is an unrealistic expectation. read more

I had a good overall experience buying a certified pre-owned vehicle. The dealer assisting me was helpful, pleasant and very easy to work with. He picked me up at Bart and communicated professionally. However, I was taken advantage with the cost of the alarm and warranty. The alarm doesn't even work and I paid $850 for it. I have realized after the fact that these items are used as part of the usual tactics by dealers to increase profits. To his credit, the manager called me immediately after I sent an email and complained that I felt ripped off. But, he only offered to send a technician to repair/adjust the alarm. While this is fine, he should have gone further and refunded some of the outrageously high costs I incurred. Instead, he said that I signed the papers so I am responsible. That is true, but it also means that I won't trust this dealership again or recommend anyone to use it. read more

I had a great experience walking into this dealership and meeting Glenn and his mother Lefie. They made me feel like I was part of their family. I brought my wife and my 2 year old daughter with me and shopping for a car can be a long process. Lefie made sure we were all comfortable sitting in her office. These people are so genuine and honest I never felt pressured into buying something I didnt want. After getting the numbers all worked out with Lefie I ended up with the car I really wanted. I have been researching this car for months, and her son Glenn took me on a test drive discussing all the details with technology, dimensions, and other trims. It was a pleasure getting to know him and I can honestly say he knows his Hondas. He is very professional and he will make sure you leave with a smile on your face.
