Shoutout to Bernard & Nho at Chevy Concord for helping me out so much! I had to get a smog check, and my Volt struggled to pass--not once, but twice! There were faults causing things like the check engine light to come on, which I had never had an issue with before. After it failed smog the first time, I took it to Chevy Concord and they resolved the issue. But when I went back to get the monitors checked, the lights appeared again! Frustrated, I brought it back to Chevy Concord. Bernard & Nho really took their time to diagnose the issue, clear the faults, and even smog the car themselves--and it passed! After test driving a car, we discussed the price and cane to an agreement. The deal was to put a specific downpayment, agreed on price, and zero interest finance of the balance over 60 months. I reiterated the deal exactly couple of times before they ran my credit. After running my credit, I exceeded the requirements - then they presented me with two options: 1- agreed on price if I pay cash. 2- agreed on price plus $3,750 (that was supposed to be a rebate discount) and zero interest on the balance. I am sharing my experience so that others can make an informed decision before doing business with Concord Chevrolet. I originally purchased my vehicle used from Concord Toyota with approximately 90,000 miles and a two-year Fidelity warranty. At around 106,000 miles, the original transmission failed. In May 2023, I brought the vehicle to Concord Chevrolet for warranty repairs. They replaced the failed transmission with a remanufactured transmission, with an estimated cost of $7,664 including labor. Looking back, I question why a remanufactured transmission was installed instead of a new one, especially considering the significant repair cost. Fast forward to July 2026, and that remanufactured transmission failed after only about 54,000 miles of use. I returned to Concord Chevrolet expecting the repair to be covered under the transmission warranty. My service advisor, Edward Chavez, informed me that I needed another transmission but stated that the warranty had expired in May 2026. The paperwork I received states that the parts are covered for 32 months / 100,000 miles. It does not clearly state "whichever comes first." Based on the wording of the warranty, I believed the transmission should still have been covered because it had only been driven approximately 54,000 miles. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told the service manager was on vacation. Edward said he could have a parts manager contact me but that they would likely tell me the same thing. I waited for that call, but it never came. Instead, Edward called me back and simply repeated the same information. I found this disappointing and unprofessional, especially when I was trying to understand the warranty terms and seek a resolution. My biggest concern is not just the transmission failure itself, but how the situation was handled. A remanufactured transmission lasting only 54,000 miles is frustrating, and I expected better customer service and clearer communication regarding the warranty. Rather than feeling like my concerns were genuinely considered, I felt dismissed. I encourage anyone considering major repairs here to carefully review the warranty terms in writing, ask detailed questions about whether new or remanufactured parts are being installed, and make sure you fully understand how the dealership interprets its warranty coverage before authorizing repairs. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this dealership, especially with the sales manager, Matt. I brought my truck in because the transmission was acting up after having it serviced there multiple times. Instead of properly diagnosing the issue, I was immediately pressured to trade it in. I was told the transmission was "completely blown," quoted around $10,000 for repairs, and offered only $3,000 for my truck. When I questioned the numbers and showed Matt the current value of my truck, he laughed at me and accused me of lying. That level of disrespect from a sales manager was unacceptable. I took my truck to a transmission specialist for a second opinion. They serviced the transmission with a fluid flush, and it has been running properly ever since and for a fraction of what the dealership claimed it would cost! Even more concerning, the dealership's inspection paperwork never stated that the transmission was beyond repair or that the transmission fluid had even been checked. It simply recommended replacing the transmission. Based on my experience, it felt like selling me a new vehicle was a higher priority than accurately diagnosing my truck. My car battery died, and I had it towed to the dealership Monday, August 17, for service. I asked the service department about a rental while my car was being repaired and was told none was available. Later Monday, I was told a $300 diagnostic was required. I explained that the battery was dead and likely only needed to be charged and reset. I was told that if that was the issue and the car was under warranty, there would be no charge. Tuesday, Paul called and confirmed it was the battery, which needed to be recharged, and said my car would be ready Wednesday. He said he would be off Wednesday but someone would contact me when it was ready. No one called. Thursday, I called and initially no one knew my car's status. I was then told it was ready. With no rental provided, I had to take several buses and BART to the dealership. Paul was not there, and the technician presented a $300 invoice. There was no charge for charging the battery. I questioned the diagnostic fee because I believed it was covered by my warranty, but was told to discuss it with Paul. They also could not find my key, causing me to wait over an hour. Service Manager Ryan eventually offered a rental and said I would need to retrieve my other key so they could reprogram a replacement. As I provided my insurance information, they found my key in a technician's jacket pocket. Friday, I called and was told the $300 diagnostic fee would not be refunded because it was not covered by my extended warranty. I am extremely dissatisfied. Charging $300 to diagnose an issue I had already identified as a dead battery, only to recharge it, is unreasonable. The claim that my 12V battery is not covered by the extended warranty I purchased is also unacceptable. The lack of communication, failure to provide a rental, losing my key, and making me wait over an hour demonstrate unacceptable unprofessionalism. With machines there are some annoying issues that pop up that require service. Chevy traverse had a few hiccups along the way. However, I will say getting a ride home in a loaner vehicle is what makes you appreciate where you do your business. The loaner vehicle I got did not match this number seats my traverse had. I highly suggest that they give loaners that match the seat number of the vehicle being worked on. But above all, I will say the complementary drive home is delivered by a gentleman who represents the dealership well, he's a lovely conversationalist and makes you feel like a valued customer. Especially when you're upset that you had to bring your vehicle in for a mechanical issue. I would also suggest that the drive home vehicle will be a representation of the dealership. The older five seater should be updated to a Tahoe or traverse with navigation. read more

I dropped my car off for a recall. But before that, I made an appointment stating why I needed to bring the car in. You would think that customer service would have called to tell me they did not have the part in stock but I received no such calls. Fast forward, took my car in and Ernesto said we do not have the part and it will take about 3-4 days. Nevermine, the shuttle dropped me off. The following week, I received no follow-up call on status (similar to the previous customer's experience with service), and I called Chevy. Spoke to Ryan and he said he will follow-up and give me a call back. No one called back. Now this coming week, I am not sure if I should expect anything from Chevy. I think if you are looking to buy a car, sure, but if you are looking for service, forget it. No follow up, no follow through. Even a text/update would suffice. Not only that, once I picked my car up, I noticed that my car started experiencing delayed shifting at start/stop which never happened before. I asked the dealer to take a look but they refused and said they would charge diagnostic fee. I am certain they must have reset my TCM while putting in the airbag recall... all I asked was that they take a look and run the diagnostic to see what the root is but they refused. They completely did not want to take ownership and insisted that all they did was remove the airbag and install the new one even though they are sales guys, not the installer. I will NEVER go back to Chevy again. It ended up costing me 1K after I sent them the airbag recall, because I HAD to. Their customer service is piss poor and non-existent unless you are buying a car. read more

So if this is how you deal with people who don't have a problem, how complicated are you going to make it for people who do? A specific service advisor has been recommended and I couldn't get through to her either. This review is for the service department. It was challenging to get a hold of anyone to make this appointment. A couple of years ago, I made an appointment with their online scheduler, and when I showed up, they said that they didn't have time for my car, even though they could see that I was scheduled and did not call to tell me not to come. Now I know to only schedule via phone. I called several times per week for two weeks and kept getting sent to voicemail. I left a voicemail but never got called back. After too many attempts, I was able to schedule an appointment. My service advisor, Bernard, was excellent. I worked with him several months ago, when he helped me get my catalytic converter replaced under warranty. I did not have a problem reaching anyone at that time. The car was supposed to be finished in about four hours, but I did not receive a call. I called back at the fifth hour and again could not reach anyone to confirm that my car was ready. I continued to get directed to a remote receptionist who could not get me a status update. At the sixth hour, the shop was about to close when I received a text saying my car was ready and that I had 30 minutes to pick it up. As with most car dealerships, the service is costly. I tend to go elsewhere for my car needs, especially for routine things like oil changes. I take my car to the dealer when there is something complicated or specific to my hybrid vehicle. Luckily, I know that they will do the job correctly, and I am always pleasantly surprised when I pick up my car and find it freshly washed with the battery charging. read more
