Our experience was good. The rolls with the honey butter at the beginning of the course, were delicious! The rest of the food was okay, didn't feel worth the price. We ordered the baked potato soup. It was different than any baked potato soup we've had before, but it was still very good, just way too salty. For the entree, we got the Chicken Alfredo and the Pasta Milano with chicken. They were both good, but like others have said, not worthy of the big price tag. The Chicken Alfredo noodles were over cooked so they were on the softer side (versus al dente) and it was lacking salt. The chicken on it also had plenty of seasoning (which I typically enjoy) but it was like a sweet Mediterranean type chicken, which felt like an odd pairing for the alfredo. The Pasta Milano was very good, and the sun dried tomatoes in there were delicious. The staff and ambience were great! Our host was super kind and respectful and offered us dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary. We went on a Saturday in April, so not peak season yet, which helped with the busyness and noise level. Overall, great experience but would not go again. read more

The appetizers at Concourse might be my favorite thing that I ate! I like to enjoy little tastes of a lot of food, and that's what I was able to do with some of the appetizers here. I tried the firecracker shrimp (amazing breading), the Italian meatballs (swimming in wonderfully tomatoey sauce), and another appetizer that I didn't catch the name of but I devoured anyway. Everything I ate was excellent. The appetizers were all nicely presented, too, so everything looked as delicious as it tasted. Dinner was lobster bisque with a puffed pastry on top (deliciously briny and comforting), a Caesar salad and Alaskan halibut. The fish was flaky and perfectly cooked -- it literally felt like it melted in my mouth. It was served in a tomato relish. The service here is top-notch! Water was refilled promptly, and the servers were very friendly. The dining room lighting is soft and mellow. My dinner experience was great, and I'd definitely visit Concourse again when I'm in the Elkhart Lake area. read more

Nice bar. Scotty served good brandy old fashions and made an excellent brandy Alexander for dessert. The bar deserves 5 stars. We were seated outside per our request. Nice outdoor seating. We ordered the French onion soup which was superb. My husband and I both ordered the grilled dry aged Kansas City strip, rare. They were served with garlic mashed potatoes and a mix of sautéed zucchini and summer squash. All of the food was cold. The steaks weren't even warm enough to melt the herb butter on top of them and were done medium rare to medium. The potatoes and veggies weren't even lukewarm -- the potatoes wouldn't melt the butter pats from atop the steak. The steak was overdone and "funky" tasting like it was aged too long and not properly trimmed. I do not recommend this restaurant. Service was slow and the restaurant was not busy. Food and service was excellent! And we are picky! We regularly visit supper clubs and fine dining in south central Wisconsin, this ranks right up there with some of our favorites. Salad was really tasty, steaks were both cooked perfectly to order and garlic mashed potatoes were very good. Staff was very accommodating and wished us a happy anniversary multiple times. We were sat a small high top table with no linens in the corner. Regular tables were available. Everyone else was seated at nice linen covered tables and we were here prior to the others. DO NOT take reservations if you don't have tables available!! Completely ruined my Valentine's Day dinner. WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT OR THE Osthoff. Here at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, WI with my Bride and Son for a quiet couple of days. The grounds are beautiful, although very crowded, with parking being a major issue, little to none. I do not understand parents today. This facility as I said is very crowded, traffic is moderately heavy, drivers are distracted looking for parking spots, and the children are on scooters, or bicycles cutting in front of the cars. I was shocked because there was not one word out of the parent(s) telling them to watch out for cars, stop cutting in front of oncoming cars, nothing. The child gets hit, and Mom and Dad get Rolex watches, country club memberships, and the lot. Well, we get to our room and it's time for dinner. We decided on the Concourse, the front desk said it is "an upscale restaurant." The statement about being "upscale" was so far from the truth. read more

We were in town for a race and had dinner here with the family. They take reservations which was great for our family of seven. The service was friendly. The Brussel sprouts were very good and so was the hummus appetizer. I enjoyed the Mediterranean Shrimp pasta. It isn't a huge portion but very flavorful and satisfying. My son got the petite fillet and it was very good but very small especially for the price. The atmosphere outside is nicer than inside if the weather is good. Prior to dinner we had a drink at the bar and the prices were reasonable and the bar tender was very nice. I would definitely recommend dining here if staying at the resort read more

If you're looking for fine dining, this isn't it. There's other options in Elkhart Lake As others mentioned, the staff was working hard. It was a Saturday night and it was busy, but not full. Service was slow, but not because anyone was slow. They are just understaffed and there wasn't a seasoned person around The food was Ok at best and is smaller portions. Given the pricing I don't think there's value. Given it is Osthoffs premiere restaurant, I certainly expected more. Unfortunately, not a lot ofambiance either. We stayed at The Osthoff Hotel again this year for the PCA race at Road America. Concourse staff handled us very well on three separate visits during this trip and they were extremely understaffed. On our final night, it was literally just Heidi, a waitress and the Chef handling everything. Heidi was so quick and efficient - any restaurant would be lucky to have her. I only interacted with Heidi and the Chef and they are to be commended on how they addressed the needs of the customers with kindness, attention and even some humor. Heidi served as the hostess, bartender, waitress and more, and she was very quick to address everyone walking in plus anything and everything we needed - and it was quite crowded. The Chef came out a couple of times and was also very nice and helpful to answer a couple of questions for us regarding menu choices. I really don't know how they managed to perform so well under such pressure, but they surely did. The food was delicious every time and was delivered hot and timely. First things first the service was good the waitstaff was very friendly however that was the only positive. This meal was literally laughable none if us could believe it. This $28.00 steak was the size of a meatball and it was cold. All of our steaks were cold. The seasonable vegetables were 3 tiny pieces of broccoli. The french onion soup was horrible and had absolutely no taste. The worst soup we have ever had. Definitely not the Christmas eve meal we were hoping for. What a waste of money!!!!! I'm so happy this place was open just after having a spa treatment at the resort! My sister and I enjoyed ourselves on the outside patio, which has a gorgeous view of the lake! We ordered the coco salad, steak quesadilla, and French onion soup! The salad was by far my favorite dish, so fresh and it was unlike anything I've tried before. I am not surprised by the many low reviews from 2020/2021, but you need to give them another chance because they re-vamped! The Concourse experienced staffing shortage during COVID which affected the atmosphere and service. As an Elkhart local, I had faith, kept coming back, and to my relief, Concourse has surpassed any of it's predecessors. I have to give a shout out to three staff members: John, Katie, and Hannah. John, their general manager, has helped to recruit and hire some of the best staff Elkhart has to offer. Katie runs an efficient bar with delicious drinks. Full disclosure, I don't know if she actually runs the bar but she's always there and always running around, so I am assuming. Our server Hannah was phenomenal. She was thorough yet quick, knowledgeable, and hilarious. The atmosphere at Concourse is laid back with a hint of upscale. They have bar, outdoor, and indoor seating. The "patio" is covered and has a decent view of the lake. If you go for lunch, be aware that the public beach is close so it can get loud with children. The indoor seating has huge floor to ceiling windows, a gorgeous fireplace, and cozy booths. The bar has a lounge area, long tables, and a decent amount of bar seating. The menu is "pricey" because you are paying for quality. We started with drinks. The beer menu is nice, they have decent wine, and their cocktails are creative. My mom really sipped her margarita and Hannah made sure to ask if she could get her something else because she wasn't sure if she liked it. Rest assured, the margaritas were very good, we just drink slowly when we know we have to drive in this town! The menu is not huge but it is diverse and everything I have tried has been delicious. I cannot recommend enough things from this menu! For appetizers, always start with the tuna nachos. The spinach and artichoke flatbread is so rich and delicious; a close second. I love their wedge and whenever I order it with the petite filet, it's cooked perfectly and enough for a meal. I couldn't choose one item on their sandwich menu- I have had everything and it is all amazing. The entrée menu is equally as amazing. Hannah recommended the walleye, which was flaky, breaded just enough, and pan fried to perfection. My husband got the braised lamb osso bucco for the first time, and it did not disappoint! Few extra things: my mom left her to go box, which they hung onto rather than throwing away. She was so relieved that when we returned ten minutes later, her walleye was waiting for her. My dad also forgot his glasses and Katie went the extra mile to let us know that she had them for us. Call ahead to make a reservation in the summer as it gets VERY busy, even on weekdays. My coworkers and I ate at Concourse two nights in a row in mid-April. Our general impression was that the appetizers were really good (cheese curds, Brussels sprouts, poke tuna nachos, baked brie) but the entrees (beef tenderloin and fried walleye) were a bit bland and overcooked. Terrible. There was one other table of 4 when I was seated. Someone brought me water but never spoke to me. 10 minutes later a server arrives. I order. 35 mins later my dinner arrives. Seriously, what was the kitchen doing? My filet was over cooked, tough and tasteless. I couldn't eat it. I had to ask for bread, salt and pepper. Visited 5/20/21: We sat down quickly but everything after that was pretty darn slow. We ordered soup and drinks. Our soup came but our soda and tea didn't come up til well after we were done eating our soup. The cream of mushroom soup was really good and was hot. We waited forever for our ribye steaks. We they arrived the steaks they were warm as if they were sitting out prior to us being served. It appeared as if the waitress had several jobs behind closed doors. The restaurant didn't have a lot of customers but the service was really slow. Our waitress kept apologizing and appeared to be trying. Anyway, our plates were very hot, however our food was barely warm. It had great flavor, but that's it. If you have forever and a day and like warm food this is your spot. read more

Stayed at the Osthoff - fantastic spa and massage! Should have consulted the reviews before booking our Anniversary dinner at the Concourse. The soup - a beef/red pepper flavor - arrived barely warm, and was the consistency of marmalade. Thick glop. They warmed it up in a pan ("we don't have a microwave). It was pasty but flavor was...OK. I had the broasted chicken special and my wife had the salmon risotto. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The salmon was cooked OK but both our meals had ZERO FLAVOR. Bland and completely without any taste. It was like we had lost our sense of taste with Covid or something. Maybe they had no spices in the kitchen? Or someone used to cooking for large families, or maybe a military platoon? Certainly not a chef. For dessert, we split a creme brulet, which was like vanilla pudding. The service was friendly, typically Midwestern, but it was obvious they were understaffed. Food came slow and they didn't check on us much. VERY disappointing, sad to say. Our server, Barbara, was very sweet & tried to resolve our problems. That is the one bright point from our evening. I ordered a Cosmo & it tasted like straight vodka. I sent it back with instructions to sub a Mule. The bartender sent Barbara back with a suggestion that he could add ice & cranberry to mellow it. Since she was so nice, I said OK. Now I had a bitter, icy glass of alcohol. I didn't drink it & just put it up as a loss for the evening (even though we were celebrating our wedding anniversary). My husband ordered the French Onion soup which came as the wrong soup. The server exchanged it for the correct soup. The Artichoke Flatbread was over baked to a dark brown, hard crust. The Lamb Osso Bucco was so dry, over baked & salty that it was inedible. We overheard the patrons at the next table say the same thing. The only redeeming food was the walleye & chocolate dessert that Barbara recommended. Skip this place & hit Lake Street Cafe for excellent food & service. read more

This restaurant started out pretty shaky a few years ago. They have settled into a nice menu that's well prepared. Service has been hard to come by and I've been turned away at the door with lots of open tables in my view. However, it's good to have it as part of the Osthoff as it's almost always open due to the hotel. I'd give it 3.5 stars if possible. read more
