So many times, they say spicy and it just isn't. They have done away with the menu that lets you pick and choose everything and now just describe the taco, you order it. I like it better that way. Just because DoorDash AND Yelp decided to shove this place at me once again, I felt it incumbent upon myself to write something. I often work at the Ohio Theatre, which shares a back yard with the downtown location. The staff is consistently kind and accommodating, but the food is at once too bland and tolo expensive to warrant visiting unless you, the eater, have as unsophisticated enough palettes to accept their food. Columbus' franchise-hungry food scene is typified by this consistently mediocre eatery. They won't close because the OSU alumni and statewide blandness get them through. They have a huge indoor and outdoor seating area (out back). We came after work and the back was almost completely full with a decent number of people sitting indoors too. The White Sangria we got was pretty good. The tacos less so - the flour tortillas weren't very fresh with a strong aftertaste. The fillings were alright. I did like the pork they put in but there wasn't very much of it overall compared to peppers and cheese. Let me preface this with I have a Condado Rewards card so I'm sorta biased. Each month they have a featured drink, dip, and taco. My advice: always give them a try, even though some of them are super crazy. Hamburger and fries taco? Don't knock it till you try it. The staff is hip and attentive, the chips are always fryer fresh, and the ingredients are top-notch. My "usual" is the El Santo, chips with salsa verde and a Pacifico fresh from the tap. If you're feeling frisky you can build your own taco, but I'm horrible at that stuff because everything always looks so good, I end up piling on too many ingredients and it's a wreck. The rating is more for the overall atmosphere and vibe than the food. It's definitely a fun place to go with a group of friends. The outdoor patios at many of the locations are nice during warmer months. The happy hour deals are great as well and you can get away with spending very little on tacos and margaritas during this time. The food? It's just okay in my opinion. If you're looking for authentic Mexican tacos, this is not the place. However, the build your own feature can be fun and allows you to experience the tacos with some interesting and fun combinations that may or may not be traditional. There are a lot of options to add. The chips are an additional fee and are decent at first, but in the end, do feel a tad overly greasy/oily. But definitely not terrible. I do not like the guacamole here, however, the queso is pretty good. The salsa is fine, but not memorable. As for the drinks, you can choose from many different flavors of margarita and they even offer a marg flight, which is fun. I'm more of a traditional person, so I tend to stick with the house if that's the route I decide to go in, however it is a tad too sweet for me. If I do get a margarita, I usually will get the "Gran Classico"...it's more expensive and not offered for discount during happy hour, but the overall sweetness is toned down. read more

For the latter, you write your name at the top of the slip and check off the toppings you want. If you're indecisive like me, you might opt for the "premade" options. The restaurant has a nice dining area and a bar area. The décor is modern Mexican. It seemed like they were going for a Day of The Dead style. Our waiter was friendly and our food didn't take long to arrive at the table. The chips and salsas we started with were very good. The chips were addictive. Both the green and red salsas were tasty. I went with one brisket taco and one chicken taco. Both meats were well seasoned and tender, but the brisket was my favorite of the two meats. The queso and cilantro lime aioli to top my tacos were very good. For tacos and chips and salsa this was a really affordable spot. Thai chilly tofu in a taco joint was a pleasant surprise and the price is very reasonable but a few things things that made me go hmmm... 1. I ordered the bowl instead of a tortilla and was told it was $1 more because there was more protein in the bowl. I ate with a co-worker and I'm pretty certain he had just as much (if not more) protein in his tacos. 2. The tofu was deep fried. Probably should have noted that on the menu. 3. The marinade of the tofu tasted like it had fish sauce in it. Would somewhat make sense since it is Thai chili but should be noted if my taste buds were right since it was marked as vegetarian and fish sauce would make it not. I walked here from my hotel so I'm not sure about parking but it was easy to find! Walking in, it's a few tables and then long bar style tables in the middle. I was with a party of 8 so it worked out well being sat this way. It's a pretty unique way to order. Each person gets a sheet of paper (kind of like sushi) and just goes down and checks what they want on their tacos so definitely individualized and many options!! Love it. I ordered a trio dip to start also which we got regular blanco queso, the diablo queso (jalapeño), and regular guacamole since you get a couple salsas to start. Man I could've just eaten this for dinner. Huge portion to def share with the whole table but I only shared it with one other person. Do note - the spicy queso was not that spicy so I kinda wish I didn't get two quesos. They did keep refilling our chips! Sweet Lucy shell (think cheesy Gordita crunch from Taco Bell but way more upscale) with portabellos. And the goody-goody with Thai chili tofu. I recently became a pescatarian so I loved the options for Vegan/Vegetarian/ and even gluten free on the menu!! To top it off - the prices are great and the service was friendly. I have a thing about keeping waters filled and our waitress not only did that but checked on us often and did not give us a heard time when we split our checks individually.
