Awesome concept of taco your way! We started out with some chorizo queso and homemade chips ($8), and cleaned the large bowl. We already started to few full but had already placed an order for two tacos each. I ordered one build your own flour taco with brisket (yum), breakfast eggs (which is only on the brunch menu and it's free add), pepper, onions, and cheddar cheese. I also ordered off the suggestion taco menu - Bubba Kush. It had a hard taco wrapped in a flour taco with pulled pork, cheese, jicama, onions, pineapple salsa and BBQ sauce. That pineapple salsa was so tasty! TIP: Add the chipotle honey sauce - it's the bomb for sweet and a little kick! read more

Growing up in San Diego I am very particular about my Mexican food but Condado didn't disappoint. I like the concept of building my own custom tacos. I built a typical carne asada taco. I started with soft corn tortillas and added grilled steak aka carne asada then added onions, cilantro and some guacamole. They came out perfect. I will try not to be a stereotypical Clevelander here... but guys... Firstly, we had great expectations for Condado! We knew the history of the epic split that resulted in Barrio and Condado. We knew that there's a directional feud in existence between the locals. We were eager to see what was different, and what was similar. First off: chips and queso. This is a staple foundation for forthcoming tacos. My husband is a queso fanatic people. The queso was sprinkled with paprika, and a few (roasted? canned?) jalapeño were tossed in there for good measure. Good queso thickens as it cools, and the queso we're used to from Barrio comes with cilantro lime rice in there, you stir it a little, the rice helps to thicken it, the cilantro and lime make the queso even better. I would say the Condado queso is probably more Texan style (like Joanna Gaines' cookbook recipe). But the chips... they were huge, heavy, yet flakey, and tasted strangely like pie crust. Strong nope. We ordered salsa. The salsa was watery and didn't have a flavor profile any more satisfying than the drippy queso. You still with me this far? Okay. So the tacos were actually really good! Barrio tacos tend to be a little on the drippy side, but Condado does shredded chicken, so I didn't have that issue. I had one of my tacos with ranch seasoning, and it was tasty! I also appreciated that I could load up on healthier fillings like red cabbage, cilantro and onion, etc. and all of the produce tasted fresh. So my overall review is but only because those tacos pulled through. Chips and salsa are basic, but essential in my book. They need to be decent for me to want to return. Awesome vibe. I admittedly got food to take back to my hotel, but enjoyed the tome I spent waiting for my food and chatting with the bartender as well as my food. Tried one taco (because I had to try the shrimp ceviche) and then got a bowl with chicken and various toppings. It was so good and perfectly hit the spot. Super delicious. Super expensive. Visited Condado during restaurant week. We walked into Condado around 630 pm on a Saturday and to our surprise quickly got a table. We ordered the restaurant week special which consisted of a Margarita, chips and guac or queso and a taco with a side. Pros: -Margarita was banging! I ordered on of the specials and it was a little sweet, and little spicy and a lot of perfect. -My taco with the Ju Ju shell was great! The chorizo cheese combo with everything your taco is filled with makes for a tasty bite. Cons: -The queso and guac were both underwhelming for a restaurant that specializes in Mexican cuisine. -The rice was just white and bland and the beans had an acquired taste. I'll return to Condado but for tacos and Margs only. Everything else, to me, isn't worth the money. read more

We came in late on a Wednesday and this place was relatively busy considering. First, the tortilla chips. They are thick and filling and not like those flimsy things they give you at most Mexican restaurants. And the queso was perfect. even more perfect with the salsa. The "build your own" menu was a a bit daunting but then we discovered the "taco suggestions" menu. The Ooey Gooey was amazing, so flavourful. The Babba Kush is like a Taco Bell doubledecker shell with pulled pork filling and it's huge! I think I was most impressed with the cost. $4 for a craft taco is pretty typical but they don't skimp on fillings. I could have easily filled up on two tacos, yet alone all the chips and queso! Finally I really appreciated how they do the orders and bill. Each person fills out their own order and puts their name on it. When we asked for separate checks the appetizers were automatically divided evenly among our bills and the server ran our credit cards right at the table. Super efficient! read more

I like the food and drinks at this location like I like the food and drinks at the Easton location; however, it is always so hard to get a seat here! Which I guess is great for Condados, right? I have been here a few times and have had to wait at least 30+ minutes to be seated every time. I love the queso, margs, tacos, and taco bowls! The service here is less attentive, but I'm assuming it's because they're usually super busy. The reason why this location has one less star than the Easton location is because of a poor experience we had when coming for Cinco De Mayo a few years ago. There was some drink special listed on the blackboard behind the bar for a specific day - let's just say Tuesday - and when we ordered that special - we were advised that they were not honoring the special that day since it was Cinco De Mayo?! What?! False advertising and you're not honoring a regular special because it's Cinco De Mayo? We lost interest and left after that. Since then, I've returned once with a friend and had a good experience, but I think the Cinco De Mayo experience will always leave a little bad taste in my mouth. read more

My wife and I just moved downtown and were elated to discover a Condado location just a couple blocks from our home. We've frequented their location further north on High Street and loooooove their selections for our vegan needs. Condado also gets bonus points for accommodating my wife's issues with The price is right no matter how you shake it. And the staff is super sweet while the food is better still. I wanted to check out the newest Condado. It's much the same as the first but it's in a more downtown location so you get classier or richer clientele. The food is good too. It's almost exactly the same menu where you fill out on a paper what all you want. The worst thing is the parking which sucks anywhere by there. I like this best for the happy hour. It's from 4 to 7. They have half off margaritas and $1 off tacos. It's only if you're in the bar area which is pretty stupid, because this makes the bar crowded with people ordering the specials. This is the most annoying thing about here. It's the same at both. They have a long beer and cocktail list. It wouldn't be as great without the food. The highlight is the tacos. It's tacos are much better than the fast casual build your owns. They have a few vegetarian options. I want to return to Condado and pig out own tacos and wash it down with some tequila shots. It was as good as the first location. This location isn't as colorful clientele as the one up the street, but it's still fairly cheap Mexican considering the quality of the drinks and food there. read more

I used to come here all the time but recently stopped. The last order I got the dirty queso was watery with curds. It wasn't appetizing to eat and didn't even resemble a queso cheese. It used to be my favorite thing. They got rid of the taco I usually get (the el santo) so I got the ooey gooey and Lucy's fire and they were just ok and the meat was barely warm. I recommend looking at the menu online before you go- there are so many variations possible. I like to balance the heat in one ingredient with something neutral in another.
