I ordered from them off of Grub Hub a couple weeks ago they didn't have what I wanted which was cheese tamales so when through gentleman called to let me kniw I cancelled that and he said he would get my 10 dollars refunded back to my card ..... 2 weeks later and still no refund so tonight I figured why not try again...... I ordered the tamales again just cheese .....I get my mean and its two of them filled with chicken so again I spent 10 dollars for nothing. Great outdoor dining spot! The Diablo margaritas were generous and very good, as were the queso dip and guacamole. Everyone in our party loved the tortilla chips, but as I'm on a low-carb kick I opted for the cucumber/jicama appetizer in lieu of chips ...this worked great with both the cheese dip and guacamole. I had the salmon entree and asked for double-vegetables instead of the mashed potato side offered ...unfortunately, the vegetable I received was a vegetable medley featuring about 50% diced potatoes ...had I known, I would have opted for a salad; on a positive note, the salmon was delicious! read more

Terrible food! Ordered the carne asada tacos. It came with a couple of tiny cubes of steak a few tiny cubes of onion and l a drop of sauce. Everything was cold. It was dry as can be, could barely get it down my throat without stealing some of the salsa that they gave us with the chips! Yeah there are definitely much better places for Mexican food! Every restaraunt can cook you a meal but can they provide the service?? I have never been disapointed here. The staff is always friendly and accomdating. I usually go out to eat 3 or 4 times a week. Some places hit or miss but these guys and gals are always on there game and they take pride in there job and taking care of you. Food is always consistent when I come. I usually get the flautas, chicken quesadilla, or tacos de Pollo or Barbacoa. I recommend the Don margarita. It's served in a nice pitcher and you can get at least 3 full glasses out of it. My spouse and I took the ride for an early dinner yesterday and the forty minute ride was worth every second! We were greeted and seated promptly by Hugo, our server. Before we had time to even settle at the table fresh chips and an array of salsa and beans appeared on the table. Hugo recommended the Don Julio margarita, after he discussed the ingredients, we were sold. Don't be dismayed by the price, it comes to the table in a shaker and is closer to two margaritas than one! Hugo recommended the Molcajete...a sampling of delicious meats, cheese, and shrimp...which are resting in one of the most delicious sauces I have ever tasted. This dish also has grilled cactus which I was excited to try and it was spectacular. The food was so fresh and tasty and Hugo was attentive and very welcoming. The prices are very reasonable and the place is spotless and beautifully decorated. We go out every Saturday and love to find new places, after this visit we have agreed that Condesa will go in to the regular, more than once a month rotation. Can't wait to go again! read more

I can't believe this place has been this close to me and I've never discovered it before! The atmosphere is great, clean and inviting. The service was pleasant and speedy. Free chips and 4 types of salsa is a nice way to start the meal but we also ordered queso, which was fantastic. We ordered a chimichanga and a burrito and both were delicious. The quality of food was twice what we paid for, it was all in all a really nice experience. 10/10 will be coming back and I now have a new favorite lunch/dinner place within 10 minutes of me. This place is just okay, not great, but not terrible either. It's nice inside, everything looks new and it was very clean, service was good, and my margarita was really good. My husband was happy with the beers on draft as well. The chips and assortment of salsa they gave us was good. The food just was just okay...it didn't seem entirely fresh, almost like they have it all ready, put it together and just heat it up for you. Just lacking in good flavor, pretty salty, and I guess what I'd expect from this type of restaurant. Unfortunately there are not many good mexican restaurants in RI- the only one that I've been to that serves authentic and freshly made food (for a super reasonable price) is El Rancho Grande- which is what I'll stick with from now on. Prior to RI Food Fights taco challenge I was not aware of Condesa but I'm so glad to have discovered it. Located in Smithfield in a little plaza with a few other restaurants it could be easy to overlook but I kid you not, what they have going on inside that restaurant is a wonderful edition to the recent boom of Mexican restaurants. The ambiance is nice, feels slightly upscale without being snooty. A nice place to bring a date or perhaps a work lunch/dinner. The waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful and later in the meal the manager or possibly owner came over and inquired how we enjoyed our meal which I appreciated. We started with the complimentary chips, salsas and bean dip which were awesome. Due to the taco challenge being our reason for being here we then had our two tacos, one carne asada and one barbacoa. Both were phenomenal and not ones I would typically order (I'm a carnitas man myself). The meat was seasoned and flavored to perfection. We also got the chihuahua cheese to accompany it, mainly because I thought it was a funny name for cheese. Turns out it is actually awesome. Served in a skillet with chorizo, the cheese is melted and the bottom forms a crust on the pan. It was really awesome and I would get again. Overall this was a great find and a new spot for me to recommend to friends and family so I can look like the food connoisseur I always pretend to be. read more

Northern Rhode Island does not have a lot of options for Mexican style food so I was happy to see Condesa open up. Since it opened I have been here twice and loved both of my experiences. They have a great list of cocktails and many cold beers to choose from. I tried the Bloody Maria and just a word of warning it throws the heat so be prepared. At the start of the meal, they provide chips and assorted dips (salsa, verde salsa, refried beans, and a hot sauce) which are great for munching on while you wait for dinner. We also ordered the fresh table side guacamole. Any lover of guac should get it because it is one of the best I have had. Both times I got the Burrito California with Chicken which is as huge as it is delicious. I want to try some of their other plates but always find it hard to stray from the burritos. On top of this the prices are reasonable and the service is fast and friendly I will definitely be back next time I get a Mexican food craving. Finally. Some good Mexican food in Smithfield! If you came here when it was Faial, you're in for a surprise. The interior has been completely renovated and updated. It looks so much more modern now. The service was excellent and very attentive from start to finish. They give you complimentary chips with three kinds of salsa and bean dip to start. We also ordered cheese dip, which was delicious, but probably not necessary since there were only two of us. For drinks, we had the standard margarita which was made with fresh ingredients (no sugary mix here) and came with a shaker with more margarita on the side. For my entree, I had the veggie enchiladas. They were so good - filled with tasty grilled veggies and sweet potato. I had been dying to go here and eat, my sister in law raves about this place and it did not disappoint! We got the cheese dip with our chips and that was great as was all four of the salsas that came with the chips. I thought it was great that they were various types and spices! Chips were also delicious. In the way of a beer selection at a Mexican place I was impressed because they had a good amount of craft and some Mexican native beers. My fiancé got carne asada tacos and he said they were good. I got the arroz con camarones. I was impressed with the size of the shrimp I just think they could have been cooked longer or had more of a seat on them but the dish was good! Needed lime so I did ask for some. As soon as we were seated we were great by a very enthusiastic waitress and she gave us chips and 4 different types of salsa (red salsa, salsa verde, refried bean salsa, and one she said was a bit spicy, but it wasn't spicy at all for me). She was a fantastic waitress and checked in often to make sure we were happy with our drinks etc. We also ordered the cheese sauce for the chips that came out screaming hot and thinner than most cheese sauces, but once it cooled it obviously turned thicker and was very tasty. For dinner I got the Molcajete which was AMAZING! basically it was chicken, steak, shrimp, chorizo, and cactus is a big stone bowl (also know as a Molcajete). I mean I didnt go to Condesa expecting good Mexican because lets be serious, good authentic Mexican isnt going to be in Smithfield. I also didnt pick this place, friends did. I went along with it. I ordered a sangria ($9 but pretty big sized glass) and the al pastor tacos ($14!!!!) what an expensive disappointment. The meat was dryyyy and in chunks. There was barely any pineapple. And due to only one tortilla, the heavy meat ripped the tortilla making it tough to eat. No matter how much green salsa I added to the tacos, it didnt help much. The meat was just too dry. For that price, I was disappointed. The sangria had about 80% orange juice which completely turned me off. Wayyy too much juice. The manager did come around asking how our dinner was going which was nice and our waitress was great and attentive. Due to the service and guac (good and spicy table side) I give them 2 stars but my meal was a disappointment. My friends had tortilla soup, cheese quesadilla and quinoa salad--- no one seem to rave about any of their dishes. Overall food is overpriced and nothing special although decor is nice inside. Im pretty sure they'll be successful due to them being one of the only (if not the only?) Mexican spot in the area. read more

When you are first seated they bring you chips with 4 different salsas(a mild, a Hot, tomatillo salsa and a bean salsa) which i like all but the bean one. For dinner I have had both Burrito California which is HUGEEE!!! and the Chori Pollo which is a bit different than I normally like, but I also liked it and would order it again.
