I live in southern NH and had to go to Smithfield to return a truck part to a salvage yard. Since I am always on the lookout for good Mexican food, I was pleased to find Condesa about a mile from my destination. I stopped for lunch and was very happy that my experience validated the positive reviews. I had read on Yelp. As a vegetarian, I seldom find tacos that don't contain meat. I was intrigued by the Poblano tacos, so I ordered them. It was the right decision because the tacos were great. I am not sure how authentic they are, but the Poblano was prepared perfectly and the accompanying filling made a perfect balance. Just the right amount of rice and black beans made for a perfectly satisfying meal. I regret that I don't live closer, but when I am in the area I WILL visit again. read more

I'm sorry, but the food was not enjoyable at all. :-( We ordered the ($9) guacamole and it tasted as if it had no salt or lime juice. We also ordered the quesadillas and they were ok, but again lacked any real flavor... we then split the Tacos Pablano (I'm not a vegetarian but I'm often sold when something says caramelized onions) and it was just some bland grilled veggies - including a few pieces of cook onions that were not "caramelized"...the veggies didn't taste as if they even had any salt, there was no type of sauce on it which might have helped (no *sour cream, or crema, or even sprinkle of cilantro of any kind...so it was just uninteresting bland veggies. The server was very friendly but he disappeared for what felt like an hour (we where there for over 2 hours on a first date)... the sangria was quite yummy, so that was a plus, with a nice amount of sweetness and fruit. The food just lacked seasoning and brightness and flavor... I understand this was a vegan option but I guess I hoped for some additional vegan-friendly accoutrements... *shrug* read more

My mom and I hit Condesa yesterday for lunch. I had my eye on the place for a while now because I had heard good things and it did not fail to impress. First, the fact that they give you free chips and salsa is amazing. Not just one salsa, but three, plus refried beans. We also got the watermelon margaritas which we large and delish. I tried the flautas and my mom got the tamales. Both were outstanding. We got churros as well, but they did not stand out like the rest. Lastly, the service was great. This place is great. My family loves it and we try to eat here as frequently as possible. My fav items are ceviche, table side quac and Chicken tortilla soup. Lately I'm addicted to the Cabo Burrito. The burritos here are huge and there's always leftovers for lunch. The house margarita is the way to go but if you like sangria they make it great there too. They also have dos eques on draft which you don't find too often. read more

Came here late Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. The bartenders were very personable and gave us some great recommendations for dinner. My husband had the molcajete which was different and delicious and I had the burrito California. Mine was a bit too spicy so they made me a new one with tomatillo sauce which was so nice of them. I have been researching restaurants around the area that serve vegan meals and came across Condesa. I am glad I did! They have many vegan options that choosing one seemed impossible. I ordered the Vegetarian Burritos. HOLY MOLY was that thing big! I had to ask for a take out container. I had it for lunch today and it was just as good! I don't know what the heck happened to this place, I've eaten here in the past and it was good. But its terrible now and we left most of our meal uneaten, it was that bad. Asada tacos were served missing the avocado sauce and the tortillas were so greasy they were disgusting and literally falling apart. Chorizo sopes came on cornbread flatbreads that were so HARD and the chorizo was overwhelmingly salty. Ordered chicken fingers for my son and they were also extremely hard to the point he could hardly eat them either. The only positive thing I can say was our waiter was wonderful! read more

We came to pickup and they were running an hour behind ... ok, understood ... it's May 5 and your busy. My husband and I were in the area and decided to try Condesa on a whim and I'm so glad we did! The service was fast and incredibly friendly and the food was some of the best Mexican food I've had on the East Coast. Loved that you get a variety of salsas plus a bean dip with your chips, but the real winner was the Cochinita Pibil. The pork fell apart at the slightest touch of my fork, it was so tender. The sauce it was cooked in was super flavorful, the rice and beans were great as well, and the portions were generous enough that I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Pricey for the size of the portions. Husband ordered the jicama salad for $12. The flavor was good, but it barely filled the bowl and the texture of the chicken was off. I ordered the chicken enchiladas. The portion was small, but included a ice cream scoop size portion of rice and a dollop of red beans. I hardly ever finish my meal in a restaurant and would've had no problem finishing it had the taste been better. The chicken was over cooked. The service was good. I've eaten here at least a dozen times, it's not far from my house. The food has always been ok, nothing too note worthy. I like it because there's not usually a wait to get in, and you can be in and out in less than an hour. I ordered a large takeout order last night, and honestly didn't have the highest expectations. Usually by the time you get the food delivered, it's a mess (especially Mexican food). Well to my surprise, it was perfect. I mean perfect. This place has quickly become one of my favorites go to. I love Mexican food and Condesa sure does it right. The decor is so nice, clean and modern Mexican. The menu is simple and fresh, it has s little bit of everything even vegan and vegetarian options. I was surprised that they didn't have fajitas on their menu but our server explained that they are trying to offer more authentic dishes; instead they offer a Molcajete which is served on a hot rock bowl, filled with chicken, steak, shrimp, cheese, and nopalitos. My friend got it and it was hot and delicious. The margaritas and drink choices are out of this world! My favorites are the cantarito and the jalapeño margarita, plenty of tequila choices too! We enjoy sitting in their beautifully decorated lounge for after dinner drinks. Ah! Almost forgot, save room for dessert, the churros are a must served with raspberry ice cream. read more

I really wanted to like this place because the service was good, the waitress was really nice and the decor was beautiful. However the food was terrible. I did not think it was authentic at all. The tortilla chips they give you seemed like they were right out of a bag at the grocery store. My husband got the chili lime shrimp and he said it didn't taste like chili or lime at all. I got enchiladas with mole sauce and the sauce was sickening sweet and the enchiladas were dry and crispy. I have never had enchiladas that were dry. I was very disappointed because a lot of other reviewers said this place was authentic but we go out for Mexican a lot and thought that compared to other places it wasn't at all. read more

So far we have been here 3 times. Each visit was amazing. The service was top notch, Alberto was our server 2/3 of the visits and is one of the best in the business, the food was fresh, delicious and plentiful, the drinks were well mixed and well priced and the atmosphere was clean, warm and inviting. Everything here is made fresh unlike many Mexican restaurants that keep prepped and cooked everything in back and simply heat up your meal when ordered. The guacamole is made table-side and can be customized to suit any palate. The ceviche is a must. And so far we have not found an entree that was anything short of perfect. We have tried nearly half the menu at this point. All the while being served some of the best and most diverse chips and salsa that includes a generous and delicious portion of house-made refried beans. The restaurant and staff are both family friendly while also providing an isolated bar area for a fun night away from the kids. I would put this place on par with great Mexican restaurants like Zocalo in Boston. We are looking forward to many more visits to this restaurant in the future. read more
