This little shop is an incredible East Village spot. I'm not even vegan and I think that these are some of my favorite macarons in all of NYC (and I have tried quite a few) (i humbly think that they also blow Laudree out of the water - both in price/unique flavor/and love they put into their product). Their customer connection is fantastic if you follow their instagram which has fun updates on what's in stock and what's been freshly made that day and is in store - which I think is incredibly helpful and I wish more businesses did that! Absolutely get one of their Macaron Icecream sandwiches (churro and matcha are my fav) - the macaron cookies aren't dry and maintain what a macaron texture ought to be in my opinion - all while hugging a nice serving of icecream. The macarons themselves are absolutely out of this world too - brilliant flavors like Earl Gray, Chai, Rose, Basil/Melon, Creme Brulee, Cardamom, and the list goes on. They're always switching it up too with the seasons which to me, shows how much they pay attention to their locally sourced raw materials. Really brilliant and original. Their chocolates look amazing too (I haven't had any just yet!) My favorite place to get this type of dessert. I hope I can one day stop at their New Paltz location as well!! read more

It's a wonderful surprise that this place is vegan! I got 4 macaroons: pink peppercorn, green matcha tea, mint, and another flavor which I've now forgotten. I also got a s'mores cookie and some hot chocolate. I lost myself in conversation while munching away at the delicious treats, only to forget they weren't actually vegan. We ate the treats on a counter-top inside the shop - while another shop-goer was seated there eating her macaroons - the shop-owner eagerly pulled out another stool from the behind the counter so we could sit too. Dropped in on a quiet weekday afternoon as they were writing up their 'hours' sign, and the staffer was extremely friendly. Perused the selection of innovative products like maple honeycomb and hot chocolate cookies, then went with the s'mores cookie, which was quite good but still unfortunately lacking much of that toasty campfire flavor, but definitely better than most renditions. The best vegan macaroons and actually just the best macaroons I've ever had! Try the churro peanut butter macaroon. I also tried the brownie and chocolate chip cookie which were equally tasty, but what ever is in the macaroons will leave you crawling back here. There's a handful of treats to choose from whether you're craving a chocolate bar, baked goods, macaroons, or small candies this place has a nice variety. Every item is cruelty-free, fair trade, handcrafted, and of course, absolutely delicious. On top of that, when you shop here, you are supporting two vegan and woman-owned, local small-businesses that hold themselves to the highest ethical standards. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Came here for the first time a little over a year ago for my bday. I can't do dairy, so was excited for the idea of vegan confections. I was definitely a little skeptical because not all vegan treats are great, but I was blown away!! I had to try the shortbread, which is delicious and has definitely been a go-to each time I've visited. The walnut fudge is spectacular, and the macarons are definitely a win too. I've tried a handful of other options here, the only thing I haven't loved has been the white chocolate cashew hearts, which have been the only "vegan" tasting treats (still good though!). This place is amazing from the decor to the selection there really is something for everyone (with a sweet tooth of course); I loved everything about this place! The woman at the counter was so awesome. She took the time to answer all questions, was informative of how things were made and offered suggestions as well. I ended up trying a cookie, the chocolate walnut cookie which sounds basic but once you try it, it's heaven! I also tried a rosemary infused chocolate covered caramel which was really good and balanced. There are tons of interesting types of chocolates and sweets offered. Confectionary is a 100% vegan shop selling a beautiful assortment of Lagusta's Luscious chocolates, as well as macarons, cookies, brownies, and more by Sweet Maresa's. I first tried one of Lagusta's truffles years ago, when you could only buy her confections online, and was blown away. It was not just the best chocolate I had tasted in my 12 years as a vegan, but in my life. I was given one of her large assorted boxes as a gift last year and vaguely recall eating the entire thing in one evening. My visit to the adorable brick and mortar stop in the East Village did not disappoint. The interior is cute and compact, with a large glass case featuring the daily rotation of sweets. The adjacent wall displays a variety of pre-packaged gift boxes, barks, and other treats. I got a box of assorted macarons, a box of assorted chocolates, and some cookies. Everything I tried was fantastic, but my favorites were the Strawberry Milk macaron, Tahini Meltaway, Strawberry Balsamic chocolate, and the Pistachio cookie. The girl working was very nice and patient while I giddily made my selections. I recommend Confectionary to any gourmet confection lover, whether you are vegan or not. read more

Apparently this place is also known as Sweet Maresca's as well as Confectionery, but either way, its such an incredibly wonderful shop. EVERYTHING there is delicious - dangerous for my wallet and waist line. I'm obsessed with their vegan macarons. I think about them weekly and it's seriously the only thing I want as a gift from my friends these days. It's also conveniently down the street from Superiority Burger, the best vegan burger I've had in Manhattan. So if you want to have a day to treat yourself to tons of vegan stuffs, just hit up this street. These were some delicious macaroons, they had a good flavor selections of macaroons. There were some unique flavors I have never seen or tasted before such as pumpkin. Their service was great, very accommodating and attentive. As I stepped in the door I was approached right away with a bright smile as in what she could help me with. I got a box of 8 macaroons for $20 which includes rose, lavender, pistachio, black sesame, pumpkin, and matcha. The texture of the macaroons were chewy and gooey. The filling wasn't overwhelming sweet which was great and their flavors were on point. I wish they would incorporate more tea selections flavors macaroons in the future. I love Sweet Maresa's macaroons. I've been following her for years on social media and checking her out at the vegan shop-up. I was so excited when I walked down 9th street and noticed this place. I've walked past this place for months because I didn't know it's vegan. They don't advertise that because they want you to come in and enjoy their treats without discrimination. I got the chocolate carmel (I give it a B) and creamy cherry almond (I give it a A+++) candies. I also devoured a chocolate chip walnut cookie that was moist and tasty. Get in there. It's affordable. The worker chick is friendly. And there are an abundance of goodies to try. You won't even be able to tell there's no dairy. For real. AND they use minimal soy. I tought I have to say goodbye to macarons now that I'm vegan. I found this place here on Yelp and when I went into the shop I was surprised how small and cute it is. The cashier was adorable and very helpful and informative and everything I bought from there was so authentic it blew my mind. I'm a caramel girl and I never found a good chewy caramel in a good tasting chocolate until I tried theirs.
